  • You can make an argument about her needing a rework or not, if you genuinely like her go ahead but me and many others personally don't. But she definitely does not have a high skill cap. You spam traps and hit ctrl whenever a survivor activates one and hit them. What an interesting and difficult killer.

  • I'd really like to see lightburn gone. Such an old and outdated mechanic that has no place in the game now. As for Hag...She needs a full-on rework. The worst designed killer in the game imo, such a boring playstyle and ability that offers no interaction or skill in how she plays.

  • This game will never be competitive because it's simply too random. The layout of a map can make it a walk in the park for survivors, or they'll lose within 5 minutes because there were no pallets and everywhere you look there is a dead zone. And this also wouldn't work because these survivors would be going all-out sweat with DS, Unbreakable, borrowed time and SB/DH. Unless you're a good Nurse, or a Spirit or Billy with the best add-ons you're not winning against these 4 survivors, period.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

I don't think the OP expects to pip when they don't interact with the killer. But if you pound out the gens and escape you shouldn't depip.

If you run through every survivor with an ebony Mori you're guaranteed to depip. Kinda the same thing applies to hammering gens and escaping through the hatch. You're trying to play as little of the game as humanly possible so you get punished for it. A good system in theory but it definitely needs some tweaking for it to actually be taken seriously because right now it's a joke.

  • As much as I like playing as and against Doctor...His discipline add-ons are broken as hell. People are complaining about the wrong things on Doctor. We should be talking about his add-ons rather than his basekit, because his default ability is fine.

  • @Malakitty110 said:

I honestly don't really like it because DH has come in clutch for me so many times so not being able to activate because of doctor is really ammoying.

Dead hard the shock therapy. Honestly it sounds and looks dumb but it works more often than not, and it can make enough distance to get to a window or pallet. So you're still skillfully pressing a button to outplay the killer, you're just doing it earlier instead.

Funny thing is also that Pig's add-ons are in a similar boat. Half of them actively hinder you in some way, like giving MORE skill-checks or RS2 OR are just straight up useless, like Hemorrhage or Exhausted with an RBT.

Even the "useful" ones are meh. The Gears family are somewhat dependent on survivors NOT getting the first box, and similar story with Tampered Timer with generators being complete. Last Will gives me another trap, buuuuuut I could easily be gen-rushed and have half of them be useless. More boxes? More chances of that first box key AND one of them increases the RBT death timer!

The only consistently helpful add-ons are the 3 Dash add-ons to me, and even then, you're relying on not facing good Spine Chill or Sprint Burst users. At least with Nurse's add-ons you know EXACTLY what gou're getting in to, where as most Pig add-ons are further dice rolls, but sometimes with better odds.

That's true. I like to use both the ambush add-ons on her. Makes it really hard for a survivor to react to at a medium to short loop. If I run out of video tapes I'll use combat straps, but sparingly. That add-on is addicting as hell.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    Ruleset No. 2

Unless the survivors are total idiots, then you're actively forcing survivors ONTO GENERATORS, which is the exact opposite of what you want, unless you want to be called a tunneller.

I get what people say about the Nurse add-ons, but her add-ons don't actively hinder the player like RS2 does.

For survivors, the Tombstone add-ons suck, especially with no minimum stalk requirement to kill.

But for one of THEIR add-ons, the green Med-Kit one that increases healing speed at the cost of 8 charges to the Med-Kit. Unless I'm running Self-Care and Streetwise for efficiency. In which case why am I running this Med-Kit with those perks? I can just ditch the kit and run Botany instead of Streetwise and heal myself in a better manner.

A lot of nurse add-ons DEFINITELY hinder her.

Both red add-ons are garbage, the 3-blink one is almost useable on maybe autohaven maps.

Spasmodic breath is just... what. You're giving up your entire power, the best chase ability in the game, to play like the most basic M1 killer for 60 seconds.

The bloodpoint add-on also shortens her lunge distance.

So basically she has 4 terrible add-ons, and the rest are either meh or decent. The distance add-ons are still the best, they actually give you even more distance now compared to before, it just takes a while to charge. Honestly she has a lot of really cool add-on combinations and builds that I don't see many people talk about.

  • @CashelP14 said:

    Bubba disagrees with this.

Addonless Bubba? Best killer in the game.

Speed limiter Bubba? Completely broken killer that survivors can do literally nothing about. Even with DS+Unbreakable you're not safe from the wrath of the speed limiter.

killers complain about this for years... and what happens? nothing, so dont expect some changes i balance in the future.

even with most obvious flaws u see in the matchmaking the devs still think its cool to balance this game for grey ranks...

The thing is though, ranks 13 to 20 are so killer sided that it's not even funny (assume that everyone is of similar rank. This will never be the case anymore but if we assume everyone in the lobby is grey ranks etc. Then the game is incredibly killer sided)

Easy fix. Revert him back. I and a lot of Freddy mains would be very happy.

We don’t hate the rework. They did an excellent job. But speaking for myself I desperately miss old Freddy.

Honestly they should give at least the option to play old Freddy. Just have an add-on or offering or something to allow you to pick the old Freddy. I never played old Freddy, he got reworked basically just as I was getting into killer but I remember playing against him was so interesting and different. I'd definitely give him a try because new Freddy is so unbelievably shallow and boring, and it looks like you can do some interesting stuff with his old sleep mechanics.

  • Calling it an "abuse of controls" is a bit of a stretch when it's literally completely countered by waiting for them to stop spinning. There's nothing abusive going on it's literally just spinning a model lmao.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Why do you even use a m2 if theyre 1mm away? Also talking about Oni and Huntress they have the most ridiculous hitboxes in game. 360s arent any issue.

With Huntress, using a hatchet point blank has less recovery time than a standard M1, so you catch up to the survivor sooner. It's what good Huntress players will do.

  • FOV options, FOV options and FOV options. Get rid of shadowborn or repurpose it, and give killers the option to add up to 15 extra degrees to their field of view. That's literally all I want at this point. A change as simply and small as this would go such a long way for so many people.

Try watching some streams from Otz or True who are streaming right now. Otz was playing some survivor and i can promise you, the warning for dodging it is about the same as deathslingers.

It is not. It definitely is not. Unless you're playing against a really bad Deathslinger, there is literally no warning or visual/audio cue that can help you dodge his attack. It's all predicting. When pyramid head wants to do a ranged attack:

he puts his knife in the ground,

there's a VERY noticeable sound when he does this,

you see exactly how far it's going because of the effects on the ground

there's a brief moment before the attack comes out that's noticeable that he's going to do it,

He can't strafe while in his power

It has relatively short range and a longer travel time than slingers gun

Basically you get a lot of tells and can quite easily work out when he's going to use his ranged attack. A good Deathslinger will give you no time to react. It's not easy but people have managed to deal with Nurse for 4 years and she can do the same thing PH does but better

  • He's new and different, but unlike Deathslinger his ranged ability isn't bad at all, it's completely fair. It has a very noticeable sound and visual cue, you can see exactly where it is, you know exactly which way it's gonna go because you can't strafe while you hold M2 with him and it's a fixed sensitivity while aiming it, it's literally slow enough at range to react to and dodge, and the range isn't even that great in the first place. It's like demo's shred, but a much shorter range, thinner hitbox and can go through walls.

It might take a while to get used to but I think his power is very much counterable and fun to go against, all he demands is a little extra concentration from the survivor and smarter play.

  • I think he should start with 3 traps by default, do away with the bag add-ons entirely (or change their effects, maybe affect the pick-up speed of traps I'm not sure). This is basically all I'd change with Trapper tbh. You could give him more but honestly it wouldn't mean much, he still has the most counterable ability in the game and no amount of buffs is really gonna change that.

  • It shows the survivors through killer instinct (the legion and GhostFace heartbeat effect) and slows them down slightly. It's a very small slowdown but it's sometimes good enough to get a hit.

  • I mean...I agree with Spirit and Deathslinger, but Oni and Doctor have no counterplay? For doctor if you mindlessly run around a single medium-size or small pallet loop you're guaranteed to get hit, so run to another loop if he's spamming you with shock therapy, because hell lose enough distance to where you will probably make it to another pallet or jungle gym. If you don't then you got screwed by the map I guess. Oni's power is pretty oppressive and there's not much you can do against it at certain loops, but it kind of sucks at L-T walls and really short loops. He's forced to chase you around these tiles normally which can waste a lot of his power. It does only last for 45 seconds without add-ons so wasting as much time as possible, or simply being immersed if he hasn't found you is a good thing to be doing as survivor.

I'm sorry for singling out this point but it's the one I can sort of maybe help you with.

Although I support his idea, I believe it would more interactive if it was something more than, "Everyone receives a 50% repair speed penalty until either a survivor takes damage or enters a chase"

Personally, I would like to see a second objective such as finding all Fuse Boxes once the Exit Gates are activated. Overall, they would add, hmm, let's say, 4 minutes if the killer can apply decent pressure. Generators could have their repair time reduced by 10 to 20 seconds since we don't want to extend the game too much. Of course, my suggestion is just what comes from the top of my head, it can definitely be improved on! 🙂

My take is that they don't need to add another objective like you're describing. The core gameplay and objectives are perfect the way they are, they don't need adding to. The start of a match is the issue because of maps and survivors spawning on gens etc leading to a bad early game for any killer that isn't Billy. Once the killer finds someone, down them etc this leads into a snowball effect like Scott said in his video. Adding lategame objectives would make killers way too good because they become stronger as the match progresses and survivors become weaker.

  • I'm not sure what to think about the hex effect, but the endurance effect isn't THAT strong. It's gonna help you escape easier maybe at the very end of the game. I like the perk a lot though, it's a really cool effect. Honestly a lot of the new perks are quite unique, but a lot of them also suck lmao. This is the only good one.

  • It does suck for the people who used the duration add-ons. Imo I thought they weren't great, but the one thing I thought was cool about then was only need the default amount of stalk to get to tier 3 after it ran out, a "FEATURE" that I thought made those add-ons good for some players. But apparently it was a bug all this time...cool.

By the way how long has this actually been a thing for? I swear it's been like this for ages and they've just decided to fix this now?

  • He's definitely up there with all the current big daddies. Trapper, Oni, Clown, Doctor, Myers and now Pyramid Head.

Nothing will dethrone Daddy Myers though.

  • If we don't get a Bob Ross skin for him eventually I'm gonna be so mad.

  • @HollowsGrief said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1305868#Comment_1305868

It's a mediocre perk that is only decent with a few builds on a few killers. By itself it is a bad perk. I'm talking a "oh shoot that perk looks nice, what kind of builds can I use with it!" kind of perk.

Last one was probably plague then. Corrupt is an ok perk for the early game which is the most important part of the match for a killer, and infectious is a solid perk on a lot of killers, almost a requirement on some like Oni.

  • So you haven't even seen this incredibly situational combo happen and you're still gonna complain...aight.

What about For the people + Mettle of man + styptic agent + dead hard + DS? This is arguably even worse to deal with. You've been able to do this for a good 3 months now but have you seen someone, even a SWF, pull it off, let alone attempt it in the first place?

  • Honestly it's only 30 seconds. And I'm so sick of seeing pop that if pop users genuinely think this counters their perk so they use a different one, I'm all for it.

  • Idk what you mean, honestly the models are perfect. Quentin, meg and nea definitely don't look like abominations from the deepest, darkest depths of hell.

    Nope, definitely not.

How else am I supposed to get the damn platinum Trophy then?!!!

Get better at the game? I'm serious that how you'd do it.

For tips on getting better with Nurse, blink where you think the survivor's gonna go to, not where they currently are. Chances are this will work more often than not.

When a survivor is around a wall and you're charging a blink, blink to the corner of the wall because almost every survivor will double back and try and juke you that way. If they don't then you simply use the second blink to adjust, blink to them and then hit them and unless they have dead hard there's very little they can do here, provided you blinked to them correctly.

Should also say that every hit is good for you as Nurse. If you want an easier time and you run game delay perks on her, sloppy is a good delay perk on her because people don't want to be injured against a Nurse, you're basically signing your own death wish if you are.

  • Sorry but the silent hill chapter is much more appealing and unique to me than a killer that's essentially already in the game.

  • Wth do you all mean by "better options"? From different franchises? Do people seriously like that big stupid guy with a hockey mask and a machete over Pyramid Head?

  • New content is the one thing keeping this game alive for most people, so the initial excitement of a new chapter is always gonna be a big thing. A lot of us have come to realise that there will always be a ton of new bugs in each patch. It isn't excusable in any way, but I can see past them, at least for a while because the new content is still keeping my interest.

  • I've recently noticed that a lot of killers are trying to bait pallets i.e swinging through them. If the survivor panics and drops it, they get hit through the pallet. If they don't drop it, they don't get hit and they get another loop. So I've tried to call when a killer is trying to do this and I think I've gotten pretty good at it. Extended a lot of chases this way. So yeah I greed pallets and it usually works in my favour.

  • Learning mechanics and the fundamentals is the least of a new player's concerns. You can jump in and, provided you're going against similarly skilled players, have a good time because nobody know what's going on and it's scary. You can learn everything you need to know about looping etc in 2-3 weeks tops. All it takes is a couple of YouTube videos or streamers and playing the game. As for killer mechanics they're also super easy to pick up, they were intentionally designed to be simple to understand.

It's the grind that's the problem, not the gameplay. It takes hundreds of hours to even unlock all the teachables and that's providing you've bought all the DLC. Three tiers for every perk, there's...what...60 something perks per role? And you have to do this nearly 20 times over to get all the perks on every killer? Not even counting prestige. It's ######### absurd. Nothing has been done about it and it's only going to get worse.

  • Spine chill is one of the better survivor perks. It gives newer players enough information on the killer for them to get out of harm's way, making it a good survival perk, and it gives experienced players the extra speed on fast vaults over windows and pallets on top of the information, making it also a good chase perk. I personally don't run it anymore because I find it boring but it's definitely very useful (that and every popular survivor main is running resilience+spine chill, it's even stronger now that vaults have improved)

  • Technically they did buff them, by making the vaults work correctly and not sucking you back to the window and getting hit. Now you should only be swinging at a window if you're absolutely sure you're gonna hit them, because they're a lot safer.

  • As much as I hate that room, and all the other dead ends in this game that are ultimately down to bad map design, you technically weren't trapped in there after he hit you. You lose collision with the killer for a couple of seconds after you get hit, which is something I'm surprised a lot of people still aren't aware of.

That room should still be removed though, along with the other ones like on rancid abattoir and Hawkins.

  • Or you could just reveal the aura of the killer after 10-15 seconds...

  • If you think she is then go for it, I personally don't. Huntress'hatchets have wind-up and have counterplay. Deathslinger doesn't. The only thing you can do against his power his hope to god that he misses or you're able to make it around a corner and literally instantly throw the pallet, because if you don't he will round the corner and shoot you. Playing against a good Deathslinger is like playing against a Nurse that has a near instant start-up on her blink. Almost every autohaven and McMillan loop are obsolete against him too.

  • @seki23 said:

i agree with some but lots of them arent placed correctly even if u play in consoles, a good tier list would look similar to this.we can discuss the order? yes but i think the tiers for everyone are just fair.

nurse is on top with the SS tier and spirit with S tier because they dont need to play the tiles they just or ignore them (nurse) or they just kind of ignore them (spirit)

then we have the rest who needs to play tiles wich are A teir to D tier according to how well they can deal with those tiles and map pressure in general wich is also almost as important.

i still dont get why people overestimates so much the deathslinger he has good 1 v 1 as other killers but 0 map pressure, literally 0 and thats his demise i cant place a killer like him in A tier, also pig could be C tier aswell but i wanted to give her at least the bottom of B tier, plague i think after the buff she got with fountains she deserves the B tier but could be maybe behind deathslinger, could be apart from taht i dont think my tier list would change that much, i also think people overestimates demogorgon a lot aswell he is not by any mean an A tier killer.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/X5J42CMOCL6N/killer-tier.png

Deathslinger doesn't care about a lot of loops, and there's little counterplay to his power when against a good Slinger. You create map pressure by ending chases in 5 seconds. If you don't then obviously you lose. He takes a bit of effort and very few people can play him well. The only really good Deathslinger I've seen is Zubat. If we're going by your standards of map pressure, Huntress is the same yet you have her in A tier.

  • I wouldn't say survivor is THAT much harder to play now. I haven't noticed much of a difference, it's the same old. Honestly most of the map changes barely feel any different than before which is a good and bad thing. Autohaven without a doubt got worse which sucked because wrecker's yard and gas haven were actually balanced, but then you have azarovs that was already killer sided get even worse dead zones. Ormond and cowshed are still just as broken as ever. I dunno, in my opinion it's still the map RNG and the early game that's the biggest factor, not the survivors themselves.

  • I'd much rather see actual usernames than simply "Claudette" or "Dwight". I'd rather see a username someone made up to associate with themselves than no name at all. If they made a change to hide people's usernames I would never play killer again. It would feel so soulless and empty, it's hard to describe but some of you might know what I mean.

Edit: just to clarify I've never seen the same person's username twice and thought "oh, they beat me last round time to bring iri head Huntress with a Mori just for him." I've never understood why people do that. It's just petty imo. And I can definitely put up with a little bit of petty revenge from killers, that almost never happens btw, to make the killer experience less dehumanising.

  • This is an interesting idea, as much as I think every 110% killer except Huntress isn't fun to play against and have "questionable" design choices surrounding them, something like this would fit a slower moving stealth killer.

  • He's barely alive but he's functional at least. But for me he goes just below Plague. The most "slightly above average" killer in the game. Not the best at chases but a small terror radius, meh snowball potential, can end a chase before it even starts with a 99'd tier 3 on a sleeping survivor if you really wanna be that guy.

...yeah it's just Myers. He's always just been "good", nothing more nothing less.

Still not maining him again though, his stalking is still quite scuffed sometimes.

  • Do you seriously want the most killer sided map in the game to become even more killer sided?

  • While it's true that against a good Oni there isn't a whole lot you can do about his power when he has it up, it definitely doesn't need a nerf. It isn't slinger or spirit levels of fun and interactive, and he has to actually earn his power, and it's not up for a long time. Then, depending on how the survivors play, hell get it again and again if they don't heal up and that's the survivor's fault. It's kind of like plague in a way: you make wrong decisions and you get punished for it, only difference being he's a big angry man with a stick. He's a strong killer but he has very obvious weaknesses that I don't mind his power being as strong as it is because he has to earn it.
