if this game was balanced right than if the killer was as skilled as the survivors and no one was better than the other the killer should have a fair chance at winning but this is not the case since the survivors should be able to last a fair amount of time against the killer. the only reason high ranks are bearable to play with a non meta killer right now is because of the new match making where we can have rank 8's and lower skilled players join us due to swf. however that also is unbalanced since if we use a killer like billy, nurse, hag, huntress or any killer that is viable we can easily win against a team that is not as skilled as us. due to this i dont think this game can ever be actually balanced.
-
If your playing against a GH that likes to stalk be more aware of your surroundings its fairly easy to knock him out of stealth while doing a common loop found at gens. you said you had experience so looping while looking at the killer should be basically installed into your brain by this point.
-
The only thing they need to do for spirit is give her a better visual sign for when she is phasing even tho she has one but people dont bother to pay attention.
-
I play nurse on xbox and got pretty good at her before the rework you know a miss here and there but still doing just as well with her as i would with billy since im no pro at her. However after this rework dude is she unfun to play, she is addon reliant if you don't want them just running in a straight line like op said and she has crap for ultra rare addons that literally make her worse. You literally need either recharge addons which are the best to use just because it makes her slightly like old nurse, after that its distance addons to catch up to people, than its the fatigue reduction addons which are only slightly useful. Her purple addons are nice but you dont get them often enough for her to rely on them and all her other addons are not worth using assuming you have learned how to accurately blink with her. The LEAST the devs could have done is given us better ultra rare and very rare addons such as an extra blink with no downsides or how about a longer lunge after blinking. Her power is just to punishing if your not highly skilled with her which is going to turn off anyone who would want to learn how to play her.

That's about all you can do. The issue can be having enough time to set up the teleport path before they undo the base while 2 others hammer gens. I can usually squeeze out a 2k if I can't snowball them. Gets harder on huge maps like Coldwind or Red Forest with fewer choke points. I run Agitation so I have basement as an option more often.
Thats why you protect 3-5 gens and trap the area around them. you will often get a down and they destroy the traps placed nearby and after you hook the survivor you go back to retrap the gen with 3-4 traps at vaults pallets ect. Its the main reason i run pgtw on her actually because a team will often keep going back to a specific gen and you just keep hitting it with pgtw. Also like i said against these teams dont go out of your way to place traps if it means going off your patrol path.

A good team will pop her traps when she is unable to react making her waste lots of time reseting her traps over and over.
That team wastes their own time running over the map to set those traps off and they show their location. a good hag wont go out of her way to set traps at areas far from her path when shes chasing and patrolling when survivors do this. when you down and go to hook someone they will run off the gens and get at most 4 traps so in the 4 to 10 seconds you go to hook someone they waste time the same amount of time while telling you where to go next. I will say that i first had trouble against these teams but once i stopped going out of my way to set traps and focused on getting them injured and downing them afterwards while they constantly went after my lazily placed traps their play style works them.
In case your wondering i use pgtw, stbfl, nurses, and M&A which works well when playing her against teams like this and when playing her normally.

I really want to love Huntress as she's super fun, strong and has a very high skill ceiling if you get good with her. Problem is that she has so many maps that are just near unplayable against decent survivors that know what they're doing. She's also extremely loopable on a lot of spots which can get infuriating at times. From a survivor perspective she's the easiest killer to loop for days unless they are just extremely good which is very few Huntresses.
This puts her as a rough one to rank for me. Very high potential that requires a lot to be there.
I personally think everyone vastly overrates Hag.
well with hag her power can make any loop unsafe and if her trap is placed correctly you will the hit when its activated. she also does not have to rely on maps and flashlights really only make getting people off the hook safer. Even against swf groups who just try to destroy all your traps you only need to do hit and runs until they kill themselves by constantly activating your traps, getting hit, than downed later.
-
chases can be a lot shorter depending on if your playing a killer that can do it such killers are hag, spirit, nurse even if shes now worse, billy if you get them in the open, and huntress. hence why these killers are often played at high rank. they all can get hits without actually chasing survivors around a pallet or they can get a hit while doing so.
-
i mean legion sucked before he was reworked they just made him suck in other areas that happened to be more important. as for MOM im glade that perk is dead since it ruined so many games in the short time it was out.

Don’t mind the silly comments and such. This is an older post of mine. Take a look and I hope it helps!
The mentality part of hags game has an absolute ASTRONOMICAL skill cap (a little bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point). Just take a look: !
- Traps from loop to window, into another loop. Love when you exactly KNOW where a survivor is going to take a certain path. Other combos can also include unhooked savings into vaults/pallets, 2 traps loop into jungle gym (not an often occurrence, but very now and then you’ll get a loop that connects into the dreaded jungle gym -fast vault- WINDOW. It’s nice to get one closer to the window, one opposite side and directly inside. ETC.
- Shack is NEVER a problem.
- Flashlights don’t HAVE to be a problem. As long as your traps are connected and aren’t placed wrong, you will not have a problem! Flashlights are typically used at pallets and hooked survivors. (Again, typically! Some Experience survivors will take down different traps, but you can always adjust as long as you have your area controlled. Speaking of which..)
- Area of control is absolutely astounding! Definitely one of the most important ones to remember! Goal is to protect at LEAST 4 gens IF possible. But 5 is preferable, if not 6. There is usually a gen you want to let go (I.e gen in barn).
- She isn’t add on dependable!
- Certain perks are INCREDIBLE on her! Especially Save The Best For Last! STBFL is definitely recommended! I also love Monitor & Abuse on her, Sloppy/Thana or Dying light combo, Dark devotion, Pop of course and really any Hex perks! - Surge is nice!
- She can be hard to see at times! (Why M&A works well)
- Shes gorgeous!
- A lot of survivors aren’t imitated by her (allowing hag to wreck havoc).
- Speed isn’t a hinderance FFS!!! Look at Spirit and Nurse ?????
- SWF isn’t any different going up against as a pose to another killer. If they are running through your traps purposely? GOOD! They are wasting time. And as you know, you have your area locked down and your perk synergy is ending careers!
literally everything you said are things i point out when i see posts where people think shes weak. Glad to know someone has a similar mindset. "flashlights and swf wreak her!" No they don't you just have to adjust your play style depending on what they are doing and she still destroys them. Also I love stbfl on her, at full stacks its so satisfying hitting someone than immediately teleporting to a trap they activated for the down.
-
tips For beginning hags with no map knowledge
- find the side of the map with the most and closest gens and stay on that part of the map and trap it, dont chase a survivor to an untraped part of the map unless you know you can get them before they get to a pallet.
- Make sure you have at least 6 traps placed before really committing to chases in your part of the map, if you teleport to a trap dont swing right away unless you know they are going to run through the trap because otherwise you might miss.
- place traps at loops meaning at long window vault locations and pallets such as the cow tree, the shack, and coal tower (The building that has the tank treads around it with boxs inside it at the top and a window at the bottom). You need to also place traps at pallets but you want the smoky circle you get after placing them to be just outside or at the pallet, the circle is the trigger radius for your traps.
- when placing traps at a hook only one is needed and you place it under the hook. for the basement you put one under the hook, one at the middle of the stairs if you want to, one outside of the shack by the pallet, and one inside or outside of the shack for the window.
- if you get to an untraped loop during a chase just put a trap, if you find a survivor early in the game with few traps placed, place traps as you chase them so they cant work on a gen and so you can have traps for later.
- get good at reacting to triggered traps, if you dont tp fast enough you might not get the hit. as a hag you should get a hit after someone triggers a trap nearly every time once you good.
- learn where survivors run to in the maps so you can place traps there, also during a match if survivors keep running away from a gen when you get there figure out where they are running to and place a trap along the path they would take, people often like taking the same path.

Revert post ptb changes to whooshing sounds (being able to hear her power in a terror radius) , remove collision in the phase , gut wakazashi/katana tsuba/prayer beads , make her either deaf or at least make her hearing omnidirectional while she is phasing .
As a compensation make it so she has undetectable for the first few seconds after coming out of power?
yes lets get ride of the things that allow her to hit a survivor out of phasing in the first place, in other words lets make it a guessing FOR the killer and as compensation give a bad effect to her that eliminates her terror radius when she is already an extremely load killer without it.
-
I play hillbilly and hag without ruin since i've gotten to the point where i dont need it on them. also unless i suck at a killer i always use pgtw instead of ruin on them.
-
you can tell if shes using her power by: Her glass shards glowing, her hair straightening, and the sound of her footsteps if shes close enough and at loops and with a good headset i hear them pretty often. people cant use this because they are too lazy to try and use them so they want her nerfed. Is she still strong even when you know these things? yes but that's how every killer should be.
-
The last part of the lore you unlock for him he says he would return to the trials and even rip apart survivors or killers limb from limb if it meant he could get one more flower so i think getting him as a killer is likely.

Press X to doubt. Premonition IS barely used though
in high/purple ranks killers mainly play billy, spirit, huntress, and surprisingly ghost face at least from what i have seen. Stealth killers just are not that strong and the people who are playing ghost face dont stalk people they use the power for free hits. Since the update i haven't even seen someone use spine chill or premonition because the perk is only second rate.
-
dude barely anyone uses spine chill or premonition in or past purple ranks myers is fine.

inv everyone to a party and tell them to leave the chests to you, got this challenge on my first try.

ruin sucks against good survivors if you cant hit that skill check than its you who needs to get better at the game. In high rank a gen still gets done as if ruin was not there and the perk rarely stays around after 3 minutes or the survivors your going against can hit the skill checks and decide to ignore it. lastly increasing the time it takes to repair a gen will just make the game more boring and make other anti gen perks stronger like pop, thano, and DL. If you want these perks gone than the devs need to add another objective for the survivors to do so that killers have enough time to do their job.

I offered one a long time ago. A few killers got annoyed with me removing the ability to kill survivors by hand before death hook(and making it base kit) and changing the offering to something with a different objective than generators for survivors, putting the game in favor of the killer but not in a way that actually makes it where they win with no effort and no one gets bloodpoints. Other than that everyone else ignored it. Mainly because if it's not an anger fueled discussion on nerfing something into the ground, or buffing it to where you'd have to be one armed and blindfolded to not win with it, people ignore it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/795349#Comment_795349
You'd only have to stand still until they're unhooked, at which point they have no borrowed time and you can just re-down them. Killers are up to 15% faster on most normal occasions, and even higher with perks. You could stand directly next to the survivor for that. As for killers countering certain things, I've always been of the opinion that perks should not be countered by killer powers. Perks should counter perks. Otherwise what's the point in the perk? Why should I bring Borrowed Time if at least one fourth of the killer roster can nullify it? Also I don't feel like killer powers should grant them the ability to just be complete ######### in game just because they picked a certain killer and now there's no way to play other than do gens and leave one person to do nothing and depip.
i have to agree with the killers and not because it would be a nerf but because it would suck as a survivor and actually heavily favor killers. after your second hook you cant use ds if you get tunneled and your not given the opportunity to be saved by a teammates. you will be killed right where you get downed and a hook wont be destroyed after your death so getting a lucky wiggle off the killer is harder in end game for you or your team. Believe it or not survivors get saved a lot when there on the last hook and they have also wiggled off me a few times because i killed the survivors in one area so there were no hooks. As i have said before no one really has a good nerf for mori's. you could just make mori's only usable after the second hook which would be a really boring way to change them and even then people will still complain.

You got 28k for camping? I need to take back my previous comment. And maybe start camping!
It was the only game i got over 20k and it was because they kept triggering my traps at the hook i camped so i got hits and downs. if i remember correctly i did get 3 kills but only because they just kept running into my traps trying to save whoever was on the hook even when injured.
-
people were being toxic as hell when it came to collecting serum, they would hate message you if you collected serum before them, purposely lead the killer to other survivors on plants, not do any gens until they got a full serum vial, and then once they got a full vial they would suicide on the hook.
in short a really good event ruined by toxic players and people who cared more about farming it rather than playing the game itself.
-
thank god they will be gone. as for moris i see everyone wanting them nerfed but not once have i seen someone offer a good suggestion on how they should be nerfed.
-
but you are rewarded, simply doing anything will give you more bp than watching someone die on a hook. i did a test on this in red ranks were i just camped as the wraith, hag, and leatherface for 3 games each and the most bp i ever got was 28k because they just kept running in for the save and getting hit/downed. worth noting that i also never double pipped i mostly either got a black pip or just barely pipped if the survivors were greedy enough.

Works for me! I shall take care of that!
@GunDemNoobs I'll do my best to help them see it!
@S_Panda could you explain more what you mean exactly?
He means that with no stun after missed attacks people will miss on purpose to prevent the stun and than just hit the injured survivor right away. Legion needs the stun to prevent this and since he can see and hit multiple survivors its only fair that he cant just easily cancel his frenzy in any way to quickly and easily down someone.
-
reported for body blocking people while playing billy, leather face, but most of all plague cause people hate it when you get them into the broken affect and down them or just down them in corners at all.
reported for literally downing a guy after a save and the reason he told me was that i should have gone after the unhooked because "he would be easier to down than me"
reported for taking a game hostage as a hag because i downed people so quickly near my 3 gen set up that they gave up and only hided the whole game after they got the other 4 gens.
reported for hacking multiple times for wall hacks and such, this mainly happens after a reset and for a bunch of dumb reasons. I play on console btw.

Hopefully Doctor gets a buff and at the same time is made less annoying to play against.
more than likely his default shock range will be increased and they will get rid of a range addon or two in order to give him a bad addon like padded jaws and an ultra rare. im assuming they will also make the shock more constant when stopping survivors from doing actions and possibly change the madness mechanic slightly.
-
my simple idea is that there should be an animation when using the key that takes like 5-7 seconds and during the animation the killer can interrupt the survivor for a free hook and after the survivor opens the hatch they dont immediately jump in. they could also decrease the time the hatch is open to balance out the fact that the survivor doesn't jump in to escape.
-
Will you consider changing nurses new ultra rare addons? The torn bookmark takes away her ability to blink through objects which is why people play nurse. For one extra blink i dont think this addon is worth using at all due to all the trees and walls we have in some maps, if it just gave her an extra blink i think the addon would be completely fine. The same almost goes for for matchbook as well, i feel like it should give nurse 4.4m/s to be consistent with other slow killers speed.
-
I have a feeling that we will need to use 2 recharge addons to get the same feeling from playing nurse. i also used the pin cone addon with quicker charge/range so rip muscle memory.
-
just remember people that kindred will reveal you since it trumps all stealth ability's and if it does not currently do so in the ptb i bet you my left kidney that it will be changed to do so.
-
she wont, they will most likely do one of the following since they want all killers to have 2 ultra rare addons ect. On the choping block we have...
- Billy
- Huntress
- Doctor
- Leather daddy
I personally think either big di- stick doctor or leather daddy will be reworked next since they are not currently doing so hot.
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
Because that makes them OP when they are used. Addons are fundamentally problematic and UR's just make everything worse.
my point is they should at least be useful not hinder the killer in such a way that makes their power worse for an unequal buff. The other addons i mentioned are unreliable, Ultra rare addons should be at the very least useful without having to waste/nerf your power to the point where survivors can easily play around it or you simply cant rely on it, The exception to this is myers tomestone addon.
-
dude i constantly get games with 2+ DS in red ranks and i rarely get stunned. just dont tunnel when you got an obsession, if you cant win games without having someone kicking the bucket early than maybe go down a few ranks by playing without tunneling. Than once you get used to playing without tunneling maybe try to rank up. you can still slug people who get unhooked and are in hitting range but dont go out of your way to slug that one guy.
-
As some people said shes pretty good but only with perks to slow the game, so if you dont have those perks unlocked dont level her since without them you will get mega gen rushed.
-
@FriendlyGuy said:

If you never use GFs stalk and only use zero terror radius + anti healing build, he's really good. Really don't use his stalk, it's not good.
marking survivors can be used in some situations playing this way but you should really only do it about 1-3 times a game depending on the map and how often they notice you in shroud before you get close enough for a regular hit. I find that if i can get a stalk on someone its best to 95% them and get as close as possible before i fully mark them.
As for plague if you have not already unlocked most of the really good game slowing perks like thano, dying light, ruin, or pgtw wait until you do since those perks are needed if you dont want to get gen rushed. she is pretty fun when survivors cleanse, very strong when going against people who always cleanse, and with at least 3 game slowing perks she is usable in high ranks if the survivors dont cleanse at all. you can also use an apple addon to get a corrupt fountain and using it often makes people cleanse to avoid being instantly downed.
-
She is fine with any addon other than beads and even then id say shes balanced. imo more killers should be on the same level as her
-
Audio is how i track and then i use blood if the scratch marks are gone or if they are unclear as to which direction the survivor went. I also look for blood when multiple people are injured and are using iron will. Blood stands out to me but its not the main way i will track you when i can literally hear you walking, breathing, and running.

This really helps with getting perks you want on characters and makes getting characters to p3 with a set up you want a lot easier. This is probably the best change this year for dbd imo.

you get 3 perks per bloodweb from levels 40-50 and than at 50 you get 4 per bloodweb.

I imagine you’re a hag main. You might be good with her but hag herself isn’t in the same league as huntress. Huntress can injure 4 people SIGNIFICANTLY more easily than hag, and from a distance. Huntress can down people across the map. Huntress has an instadown, hag does NOT. Huntress laughs at window and pallet loops with her power. To ‘set up’ huntress goes to a locker for 2 seconds and every one of those hatchets is a potential hit, hag spends forever placing traps that may or may not pay off. Essentially everything you said is wrong. And huntress also requires more skill than nurse to be as good as you can be with her. Nurse is difficult for sure but with huntress you’re playing distance, arc, movements of survivors, and speed of throw. Nurse is really just blink distance and prediction.
edit- as far as pressure across the map, you have clearly never played against a huntress sniping people off of gens, gates, chests, heals, and hooks
first off she cant injure people people as easily as hag because all you need to injure someone is for a trap to go off and if your good at predicting routes survivors take or areas they go to you can get traps to trigger and get hits which often happens many times in a match and consecutively . Hell the survivors dont even have to be together to do this as hag but with huntress or literally any other killer they got to be. also you act like you always land hachets which in reality against good survivors you dont. they will be using line of sight blockers and dodging your hachets if your not throwing them from 6 meters away. Hag does not suffer from this and gets hits because as soon as a trap is triggered she tp's and the survivor has barley moved. Also huntress does do good at vaults but pallet loops? NO she does not, she still gets looped unlike hag who only needs to set up a trap before or during the chase. Also if a survivor is playing safe they wont get hit at loops that favor huntress and will throw down pallets early which wither you break it or not wastes your time.
lastly as far as map pressure with huntress your clearly delusional if you think that she gets those hits often enough to be viable for an argument and good survivors will probably notice the hachet heading to them and move. Hell this happens more with hag when you just have a survivor randomly go into a trap.
-
@Blackowt_9120 said:
I didn’t say she was bad. She’s above average, but she’s isnt s tier and I do not believe she’s A. You have to set up traps or she’s useless. If your traps are broken or tripped at inopportune moments, you h ae to set up again. People have made it to red ranks with clown and legion. People made it there with old Freddy. That doesn’t mean anything. I stand by my former statement: the best hag cannot compete with the best huntress, billy, or Freddy
yet i rarely loss games with hag, can huntress get 4 people injured as easily as hag no, can she apply pressure across the map just by being a huntress no, can she sneak up on someone healing no, can she stop a loop with her power no, can they both get people down instantly yes. hag can get a hit than tp and down a survivor while huntress gets a hit and than another hit with a hachet but she also needs to hit that survivor by predicting movement and being accurate which means if they are not close to you you can miss them. all hag needs is someone to activate a trap and as long as you placed the trap correctly and react quickly its always a free hit. also as i previously said if survivors are triggering your traps as you are carrying a survivor it often leads to a chase right away. theres also the fact that survivors waste more time looking for your traps then you do placing them and replacing traps is not a real issue. lastly of course you need to set up traps or shes useless same thing goes for huntress with no hachets except she worse due to her 40m lullaby radius.

You should see my Huntress and then make your conclusions. You all forget she has the highest skill ceiling.
I think nurse requires more skill but i understand why huntress also needs a lot of skill but she can still be looped like other killers and her map pressure is pretty weak due to her lullaby radius. she needs to apply pressure by downing and injuring survivors but hag also does that just fine and she also applies map pressure with her traps and small TR.

Look, I once played against Michi, I'm trust you know him. He dced after seeing we had one obj of obs.
If you're very good with huntress, there's no way a hag is more efficient
Michi is a good hag player and he was the one that got me into playing hag before she was even buffed but imo i think im better than him. When he plays he does put traps down correctly but he's decision making during matches is questionable, he's also kinda slow sometimes when it comes to placing traps. I've played hag for i think over a year and i play her pretty often still to the point were i ran out of all green addons but the arua reading ones even after i P3'ed her so i think i have the same experience him or a little less but at least based of gameplay i can tell that im a faster player than he is when it comes to what i listed.

Yeah you have good points there. I wouldn't say she's tied with billy but I can see the argument for it. On huge maps tho she cant have that good map pressure unless you're running mint rag. I would probably be okay with placing her above freddy maybe even above huntess.
Thats why on huge maps you only protect half the gens even if they get the ones your not protecting and you still haven't hooked anyone as long as your trap set up is ready you get downs. if the survivors are just running back to the other side of the map let them and trap the route they take off a gen to get a hit. If we are talking about builds than nurses with M&A have given me tons of downs just after i let someone go or switched to a different target. Lastly unlike huntress if a survivor triggers your trap its a free hit every time assuming you use the correct trap placement at pallets and such unless they have dead hard of course and thats something huntress's hachets dont give you.
