I would be up for removing all music from the trials, to allow people to more reliably use their auditory sense. More means to track your enemy makes the game much more intense. The music just ditracts from the actual gameplay.

At this point its a choice between everyone suffering or just survivors
neither is good
Survivors are actually better off on peer-to-peer. Because no 3rd party servers means the actual interaction latency between killer and survivor is shorter, which means less bullshit hits at windows and pallets.
Peer-to-peer was a win-win for both sides.
-
Why fix sound when the next engine update is just gonna break it again?
At this point the developers are just freeing up manpower for things that are not hopelessly broken beyond repair. This of course is at the expense of killer's fun, but thats the harsh reality we live in right now. Its disheartening to me as much as it is to you.

bet ya don't complain when you hit a survivor on the other side of a pallet, now do you?
Happens very very rarely when I play killer. As survivor I do get from ridiculous distances sometimes, but thats latency not a bug.
-
Fairly mild compared to a 4man-SWF group all with DS, BT, DH, Unbreakable, + items and map offerings.
-
2 things are responsible for this.
- Dedicated servers and latency. Hits are resolved on the killer's client, so if they register a hit, its a hit. If both of you have a ping of 100ms, thats 200ms you have to think ahead of time to avoid a hit.
- Pallet stuns are not instantenous. Your character takes some to get sucked into position, and then the animation starts playing. The stun is applied when the pallet roughly visually hits the killer.

REALLY?! LOLOLOL
Bro, if killers didn't care about survivors fun, you'd see mori's every game. As it stands, killers have hundreds of mori's stock piled and don't use them. A lot of them go out of their way to play fair. Just for survivors, like yourself, to spit in their face and expect them to kiss your ass. Nah dude, you have no idea what you're on about. Killers are by FAR the most empathetic ones. Even I know that as a survivor main.
^ This, just this.
I have so many moris stocked, and with the help of BBQ I get atleast one mori back every match. Which means I could bring one EVERY SINGLE MATCH.
However I purposely choose against it, because I know how ridiculiosuly unfun they are. And I see the majority of the killers do the same, judging by how few moris I actually see around.
Survivors on the other hand very frequently bring their strongest stuff. I see the same DS, BT, DH, Unbreakable + items + map offerings on 2 survivors minimum atleast every second match as killer.
-
That sounds like you have just bad Internet, I am sorry.
But even with stable and fast Internet, dedicated servers still cost me numerous games both as killer and survivor.
-
Dedicated servers.
They screw me over when playing killer, they screw me over when playing survivors. They are nothing but a frustration, and inferior to the previous peer-to-peer system in any way.
-
Personally, no killer is broken or unblanced anymore. The only true OP killers were omegablink/more-blink Nurse, and Prayer Beads Spirit. But they removed those two, so all killers are balanced now.
-
Yes, she does. It helped me back in the day when I was new to her.
-
Yeah, its been like for a while.
-
You can get carried by ping in any online game. I don't get why people think this is a Dead by Daylight exclusive phenomen.

Tunneling a.k.a. getting rid of the worst player at the start to win the game, clearly a flawed tactic that no other game/sport/war/inster random competitive genre uses.
Wrong, other games have tunnelling too. For example imagine a game with limited collective respawns (or reinforcement limit), like a tactical shooter like Post Scriptum. Going after the weaker players to drain the reinforcements is much more effective, than going after the harder to kill players. The only difference to Dead by Daylight is that, you get punished for playing smart in this scenario (mainly by Decisive Strike).
-
They are there to balance out 4-man SWF on voicecomms stacked up with meta-perks, and items. Unfortunately some killers also take out their frustrations on innocent solo-survivor groups, but survivors do the same as well.
-
In times of gamebreaking sound bugs, the red stain should go too. If sound was properly working, and the killer could hear people in the chase, I wouldn't mind the red stain. But as of right now, the survivor receives tons of information, while the killer gets nothing in return, which is unfair.

Imma just say if survivors had an offering equivalent to an ebony, it would be something like get an extra hook state, so it would be 4 of them for an extra hook state, vs ebony which skips a hook state, while also removing chances of flashlight, pallet, sabo saves, or ds , so it still wouldn’t be an equivalent to an ebony
Decisive Strike + Unbreakable is basically a free hook state. Killer found you again after being unhook? Too bad, they can't capitalise on it. They pick you up, they get punished, they don't pick you up, they also get punished.
Moris allow killers to skip part of their objective, keys do the same for survivors.
-
Personally, there simply should always be a forced skillcheck when you touch a generator. So survivors tapping generators midchase get punished for it.

Because that doesn't work. Only those who live in a country with one spoken language in the lobbies seem to think so.
Europe or Asia are completely different and you can be in a lobby with 4 other languages so balancing that cannot work.
What would you do to sort that scenario out?
Then there are the trolls, the ones who scream "save me" and are just overall toxic people. End game cha5 is bad enough.
I don't know what onlien games you play, but the games I play where there is voice chat, people do perfectly fine with English only. And even if some people didn't stick to one language, a 12 years old Russia squeaking because OP Hillbilly is after that is communication too, you will get the gist even when you don't understand the language.

yeah and there is a reason it doesnt anymore.
Would be really weird to nerf function out of a perk only to add that very function back in another.
Its also weird to add DS as an anti-tunneling perk, then give killers an Anti-anti-tunneling perk ;P
DS is not anti-tunnelling, its anti-momentum.

no, its an answer to something that isnt a problem anymore, but why its not a problem anymore is unclear.
It could come back as soon as it went and then this perk is there to counter it.
just for the record though, im not against your suggestion, I just dont see a need or value it will give.
I dont think people will suddenly start using that because of this buff.
Also there is a reason why enduring changed.
I would use it on my Nurse if it reduced the DS stun by 50%. I used to use Enduring for that purpose back in the day.
-
Rename Hex: Ruin, to Hex: Ruined to better reflect its effect.
-
I am taking a break from the game for the time being, though I still read the forum and watch YT videos about it.
-
Closing the gap would require actual balance. As soon as the developers realised that, they were just like "Nope, imma just pump out more overpriced cosmetics and rushed chapters. Thats alot esier."
-
@Dehitay said:
You're describing the problem of a killer being too tall and then suggesting a solution of making them taller.
OP appears to be referring how tall killers are punished for being tall (easier to see), but get no benefits from it (not having a higher camera to look over objects).
In that case, I agree that the developers should adress this.
-
I doubt that killrates changed much. Killers adapted to the Ruin nerfs, by applying "dirty" tactics now. Tunnelling, camping, slugging, NOED, strong addons are getting more common, and survivors are crying about it already.
We will have to see how the developers will react to the new frustrations survivors are facing now, and if it leads to any changes.

No bait. Simply applying the logic behind the ruin change.
Thread was also not "ill thought out." Providing the explanation the devs gave behind the ruin change is, repetitive, Onyx. Corrupt does impact newer players. Because many killers pair it with discordance. New players don't study every characters perks right off the top of the bat. Corrupt is too passive - killer gets 3 gens blocked for doing nothing, where's the skill in that?
Survivor perks that are ridiculiosuly strong, but require zero skill to use: Decisive Strike, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard (if used for distance), just to name a few. Developers have made it clear that they have no intention of nerfing or changing any of them anytime soon.
Killer has a no skill perk ... suddenly its a problem ... I don't get it.
-
I don't know what platform or region you are playing on that gives you the impression that most SWF are casual. But where I play, most SWF are tryhard as hell, or atleadt try to win to some degree. Meme-squads are the uttermost esception, while meta-perk squad who do generators right infront of your face are the norm.
-
Low quality bait.

But that begs the question what Nurses blinks smell like-
^^^ That's something I never thought I would say
I can't give you details, but judging by Sally's reaction when she inhales one of them, they smell really bad ... like really bad.

Then you must be playing tater tots then. I guarantee you if you played me and I camped you, your dead. And if any your team trys the save, there dead too. There's a certain strategy to camping, not everyone can do it. If you try camping with legion, your gonna lose. But I bring Bubba, GF, wraith, or even Billy, your DEAD! And I don't think anyone literally FACE camps unless there stupid, because you'll be spotted a mile away. You run insidious, and hide very close to the hook. Camping 101
OP sounds like a toxic survivor main that deranks with their SWF group to bully low ranked killers. Their story just doesn't makie sense to me in red ranks.

@Almo said:
Sounds like a bug if Legion is not seeing gens in Fenzy. I'd recommend posting in the bug forum about this.
Why? This post already informed you about that bug, so its your job now to bring it to the programmers so they can fix it.
On a slightly related note, it baffles me how the developer have not realised that bug yet ... considering just ONE game as the Legion is required to notice it ... Do you guys not play your own killers?
-
Survivors already shacking in fear of losing their uncounterable shack loop, haha!

Damn, so people do perceive this as toxicity?!
You didnt read what I wrote. Wanting to be chased doesnt get you facecamped. T-bagging, clicking flashlight, being in a Cheat with Friends group all with items, and on voicecommunication is toxic. Stop doing that, and the facecamping will stop too.
-

The thing I do is look for the killer for him to chase me first cause I'm the "good looper" in my SWF, is that toxic? They tend to chase me for a lot of time and make it "personal" I guess
I do that too. Not because I am good, but because holding M1 on generators is boring. I still don't get facecamped, unless its a memeing Bubba.
Drop your toxicity, then the facecamping will stop.
-
If you get facecamped 5 games in a row, I have the suspicion that you are doing something to intentionally tilt or piss off the killer. I near enough never get facecamped, even when I run the killer for 4-5 generators.
-
Who doesn't enjoy it when one add-on can repair a full generator at the touch of a key? Or heal an healthstate? Or blind the killer instantly? All with zero skill required whatsoever. Just bring the add-on.
Killer add-ons can be strong yes, but they atleast require some input from the player to work. Red add-ons don't garuntee a win for the killer. However red addons did garuntee a win for the survivors before they were nerfed.
-
Yeah, its really annoying that I need to charge my blink 2 times my ping longer (because both charge, and release are delayed), to get the same results as before on peer-to-peer. This also causes the odd short post-blink-lunges, because the server thinks says I am still in my blink, while on my screen, I am already building up momentum.
-
I call it Keezoo.
-
@Joao_Bandicoot said:
There should be an indicator on the lobby if there is high ping (maybe is just on PTB yet) to warn you before the match starts.
They could do it like every online game that has been released this century: Press a key to open a playlist, where it shows names, score, and ping of everyone. This would make things so much easier, and is only minimnal coding effort.
-
I don't know any online that punishes you for a high ping. Dead by Daylight shouldn't either. An unstable ping gets punbished in some games, though.

@mouse0270 said:
I always recommend the same things, though this new killer has added the idea of making range matter.
I would suggest one of the following.
- Apply the mending status effect instead. As I am not a fan of insta-downs on killers not designed to have one. I am also not a fan of mending, but it does give the survivors another objective. You still get 5 hatchets
- Apply the broken status effect for 60 seconds, you still get 5 hatchets.
- As you said, insta down only works if you hit someone who is 24 meters away from you, you still get 5 hatchets.
I would be for implementing all 3 of those. Otherwise it wouldn't justify it being an ultra rare add-on.

Let me introduce you to dedicated servers.
Survivors asked for dedicated servers, and now that they finally have them, they go full *Surprised Pikachu Face*. You reap what you sow, deal with it now.
-
Or fix the the inherently flawed hatch mechanic, so killers are not forced to slug to get all 4 survivors.
-
I don't have pictures or videos, but I get a ######### moment everytime I play Nurse, and my blink gets taken away by the game, because the developers think they have done a pretty good job so far .. which is about every game atleast once,
-
The Nurse rework. Having to stare at this cooldown, while the survivor gains ground on you gets boring real quick.
-
I would rather see a Bunny Kate Denson.
-
Hit detection is clientside for the killer, to avoid forcing them to lead their shots/hits according to latency and putting high ping at disadvantage. This logically means that you can get hit from far away on the survivor screen. Thats just the nature of dedicated servers.
And before you ######### about it, near every ever shooter game nowadays uses the same system.
