Please dont Pharmacy these perks and characters PLEASE don't Pharmacy them! Or Freddy them.
I'm excited to see what's in store

Fnafs fan base could indeed rival REs.
In addition, dbd could prove to be the perfect home for Speingtrap much like how dbd became Bill's retirement home.
I don't have a horse in the fnaf race but even I can't say that seeing fnaf 3 Springtrap doesn't intrigue me. I don't care much for fnafs old game style or it's jumpscare aspect but I think there's potential for this to be a hit like Stranger Things. Lots of us have no idea who Steve, Nancy or Demo are but lots of us love them anyway.

That's not true at all. Old Zanshin Tactics woudl never have the same value as WoO simply for the difference between the roles. As a survivor, you decide which loop you should go next in a chase and ultimately you are the most interested party in knowing where the closest loop with a pallet is.
However, as a killer, it doesn't really matter knowing which loops are close and which ones still have a pallet because:
- If a pallet has been broken, it is because you did it.
- Even if you know where the next loop the survivor is going, I makes no difference since you can't really stop them.
That's why Zanshin Tactics was never used and got reworked and WoO appears every game in more than one survivor.
I dabbled with both Zanshins; id say the WoO effect is undeniably "low impact/value" that made justifying a perk slot hard...but there still is some undeniable value.
Knowing is half the battle. Dead Hard proves this to us. We were all too afraid to swing. But if we knew they were exhausted, that alone could swing the chase and perhaps the game. Zanshin is no different. You can memorize everything ever, but there's a subtle, even if microscopic impact between knowing something 99% sure and 100% sure.
Survivor behavior is largely determined by perks; if you can tell perks you get an idea of that persons headspace ; Lithe gamers have Lithe brain for example, so seeing that window aura may make me "yolo" a blind Pyramid Head attack that I'd never attempt without that guaranteed knowledge even though I probably know that Window could be there
Now that Zanshin is legit with the aura read I can enjoy the pallet aspect guilt free

When I was a kid playing CoD 4, tryhard specifically meant playing full on meta while also thinking you're so good for doing so.
There is nothing wrong with trying hard. Or meta. The thing is, anybody can do that. So using meta AND flaming the other side when they are using off meta made you a tryhard.
In CoD us Vets were all 10th prestige so we had the space for meta builds like noobtubes in case you busted out yours and decided you felt the need to BM. that's when the spawn camping and tunneling until you quit happened.
In dbd terms.... sweating for 4k as Nurse is not tryhard. Its when you sweat for 4k as Nurse and you hump everybody until bleedout.
I feel there once was nuance for the term but it really means nothing now.
-
Trickster may be better now, but he feels worse and lame to play. If a decent fun kit requires 4.4 for balance I'm all for it.
Simple fact is...why many knife when bat do trick?
I say this as an Xbox player who couldn't hit the broad side of a Roadhog with 4.4 Trickster
-
Fair enough. If I see ya in the wild, I'd be more than happy to drop you one after an unhook. I'm like a little squirrel

I'm surprised you don't care for the smoke bombs

Even had a doctor shock through the bombs. Since i also ran Calm spirit, he still couldn't flush me out :)
Lots of cool perks interact with the mechanics. Lemme know if you find more!
Were Gonna Live Forever has been my jam this weekend, my Lisa is running around smoke bombing survivors as they go down and if they go down at a pallet the killer thinks i am making a pallet play
But man, that Doctor must have been so confused
-
Try to have fun with the event mode by trying to farm smoke bombs and pull off Were Gonna Live Forever plays or something
But for an actual perk replacement, I think you'd appreciate Poised, Count. Its new ability to detect killers sounds like it'd help you start matches on the right foot

These ideas are all amazing thanks for the chuckle!

Wraith matches about to be 10x more fun
-
Drac does have a lot going on I admit...and yet I'd still rather play Pyramid Head with the new Zanshin Tactics.
-
Are you getting hit by Finesse? That perk could be playing into it as it is imo pushing Lithe into the top Exhaustion perk right now

Thank you! I'll see you in the void!

It's supposed to not take off the flat 8%, but still apply the "regressing" effect even through blocked gens. If that's no longer the case, that's a sizeable nerf.
If Sir Jolt was regressing through Entity Blocks then that was a bug. Otherwise that would defeat the point of Repressed Alliance.

Flat out nerf...
Don't know... Most seem pretty fine to me in terms of numbers.
Problematic design? There are a few. Deadlock, knock out, franklin's and forced hesitation are all very problematic in my opinion. But simply nerfing them isn't fixing the problem, that their core design is flawed.
Forced Hesi is a tad problematic, I agree with you. The slug potential gets mean.
The one thing I'll give Forced Hesitation however is that in regards to Flashlights, I feel that perk is more healthy/fun/scary/interactive than Lightborn is. Against a ttv beamer squad I think it makes for better content than just shutting off an entire item/mechanic entirely.
-
Is there truly no reason to go into the void? Last year people said the same thing but I just ignored them and I was showered in BP.

WoO is not overpowered, and is not even close to it. It's just that the bar for survivor perks has dropped through the floor, especially with additions like Weaving Spiders.
Well said.
It seems to me that the idea nowadays is to make every survivor perk equally mediocre, so you can run whatever you choose to run and not feel the difference. Unsurprisingly, Windows of Opportunity is one of the most used survivor perks these days, and it was generally seen as a beginner perk in the past.
Its effect is nowhere near as useful as other survivor perks used to be, but objectively it provides more than the entire sea of perks that are either extremely niche, or have been changed to a point where they are no longer good.
Ironically enough, I feel like WoO gained prominence precisely because good survivor perks were relatively even after that Attack on Titan update.
If it doesn't matter what you run really, why not pick something comfy like WoO? It felt nice after these metas where survivors HAD to run this and that.

Second Wind is probably my favourite healing perk, although doesn't seem to be too common. Takes a little set up/investment but it's really satisfying getting that instant heal.
Empathy is great too, not too popular compared to other aura perks but it allows me to ttack injured survivors (for charging Second Wind) and indicates where the chase and thus the killer is.
A favourite killer perk combo is Make Your Choice with Floods of Rage. Istadowns are always satisfying and I can get ahead without camping or tunnelling.
Haunted Grounds is likewise a riot when it pops at just the right time.
It's tricky to pull off, but Second Winding after a Wicked play is very satisfying
-
There's probably going to a new otz video showcasing Leverage+Gift of Pain so it might honestly not be a terrible meta call in your upcoming solo matches
I prefer Strength in Shadows but still, it's not terrible
-
A cue would be cool, at least. Machine Learning has a tell at the very least so you know you are mega boned.

part of the live service conundrum
I wouldn't say that's a conundrum but part of the necessary skillset: you listen to your playerbase, you look in the direction their complaints are pointing, and you see if their complaints are valid and if so are the players correctly pinpointing the problem or are they simply pointing at what's easily visible to them and the problem is something else?
The devs have stated before that there can be a large number of complaints about something but the data will say otherwise. Part of being human is that we're biased to remember the bad experiences more than the good ones, which is important to keep in mind when listening to generalized complaints. The devs have to balance complaints and data, and there's no perfect balance. DbD is a large part trial and error because there's no other game like it.
Sometimes we are irrational and our opinions should be discarded. The best examples I can think of are release CoH, Boil Over and the RPD Library.
I know multiple people who argue to this day still that they should add thr Library back to RPD and should be able to run up there with no Hooks up there and bless the totem there with old unlimited super self care. That was how many years ago now?
We all know none of that can ever come back. Obviously WoO is nothing like any of that, but many people who play this game play only one side.
I don't think I'm expressing what I want to say properly enough that's not just interpreted as a long winded "mad cuz bad" so I hope you get the gist.
-
Killing yourself isn't a conspicuous action, otherwise you could argue that taking protection hits should disable DS too.
But...wait for it...plot twist! Nice Cage didn't actually die!
Please don't take my Plot Twist DS combo from me it's really funny
-
This community needs a scapegoat to thrust their problems unto and WoO is perfect to blame. Everything is WoOs fault
This is part of the live service conundrum...do you cater to those who yellreally loud or ignore it as heat of the moment rambling?

Its such a simple change to machine learning, but now its no longer a big hassel to apply it to a gen you want to, and thats so much better. Zoooooom!
EDIT: One content creator (I think it was Hens) coupled this perk with NOED and the legions BFF add-on and just became an unstable menace in the endgame. Its fun, but not that easy to pull of, as getting four downs ins one minute, even when zooming at 135% speed, is tought and Unbreakable will most likely be in play on at least one survivor, but just wannted to leave this here.
Requiring to play around BFF is enough to gatekeep this build tbh; i struggle to get even like 5 stacks on a regular basis.
-
Getting BFF stacks requires you to literally throw games so yes I love funny meme build; Mr Canadian go fast zoooooom
Machine Learning is a fun perk. Vecna is fun with it too!
-
I'm not 100% sure I agree. Hooks and generators are how you find new targets and build pressure. Caging survivors randomly Dampens your pressure a bit as there are 3 MIA survivors and who knows where they are going (well, sort of...we all know cage spawn logic at this point)
Cages would kill basement viability and dead zone hooks. Plenty of times that mean hook spot is all you have to ever work with
-
Finesse. Good survivors already camped Exhaustion cooldowns in safe check spots and pre run like crazy, refusing to committ to anything unless killer is called out. This perk is just another safety net for that play style.
I spent an afternoon this weekend literally getting 0 hook/tier 1 Nemesis games against 3/4 Finesse+Lithe lobbies it's getting really old not being able to get any first hits at all, ever. It's crazy that I have to switch to Legion if I want to relax and enjoy some good chases.
I cannot stress enough how much I dislike Finesse.

If a console video games gameplay loop requires it's players to afk on their cellphones(and complain about it here since they have time) then something is fundamentally broken.
At this point I'm all for it.

We'd sooner get Robert Englund from Call of Duty than we'd get Robert Englund's Freddy.

I'm autistic so this is kinda living in my head rent free. I struggle with violent tendencies too, so this really put me into a tizzy last night despite last night otherwise being awesome. My brain never shuts up....ever.
I last night I laid out in my backyard and hit the bong to thr Northern Lights; seeing those float around was really beautiful, at one point I felt like the Light's were in the shape of a spine or ribcage and they were opening up and converging on me it was really trippy!
I took some videos, maybe later this weekend I'll see if I can upload the videos and post them here to the Off Topic section
-
I like the idea of the perk; committing chases makes the game too predictable for swf you need to sometimes break chases to create a new opening. Some loops or areas are too strong and you don't have time to brute force. I'm under no obligation to chase you, I'm here to kill you.
I'm gonna try it with the Unknown this weekend and see if it could replace Nowhere to Hide but I won't be sad if Predator changes

Running perks means you have the same mentality as a cheater?
Who's your yoga teacher? You're REALLY good at stretching.
Kinda, yeah. There was a time that Breakdown permanently broke hooks and suddenly SWFs all had to run Breakdown because they totally love Jeff Johansen. Or every killer suddenly running Merciless Storm because it resets gen progress to 0.

This isn't a "weave OP, Plz nerf" thread. The perk is currently broken in that the icon that pops up at the bottom showing you're in the area of the perk's effect never leaves screen. It's a bug issue, not a balancing issue.
Weaves icon is all that keeps that perk being considered balanced...without it solo q survivor is literally unplayable when it happens.
I thought this was fixed by now tbh

When they first introduced the Deep Rift, I was certain each Rift would have a unique colour palette for the Deep variants.
The blue is tired IMO, I’d love to see a different colour scheme.
I'm really torn; I hate the blue for the most part, but I appreciate the fact that Deep Rift was meant to be "prestige ng++" throwaway crap that you can live without and recolours are a nice compromise for appeasing the grind crowd without bothering the FOMO crowd too much. Blue was the colour they picked so it wouldn't have any strategic value to make worth grinding.

Was it really survivor sided?400 bps bonus on survivor makes me beg to differ. Ever seen people like ayrun who camps Thomas house as huntress chucking hatches while your trying to dodge busted Billy or nurse? It's like facing 2.0 knight mains with pincers attacks and it was disgusting. Idk evey event for me has been killer sided since last anniversary. I Prefer idv 2 v 8 cause survivors actually have abilities to counter hunters double teaming somewhat. Hopefully all the sweaty killers go in 2 v 8 and 1 v 4 will be more manageable.
Who would want to play survivor when for the first time in dbd history you can play killer with a friend?
I'm one of those scouts who camped Thompson House and let me tell ya, Huntresses hated me lol they were perma revealed.
-
I'm tired of killers constantly slugging for clearly not reason when games are clearly over. The fact that people get so bothered over the hatch is just insane.
I'm tired of fun, back and forth matches being soured by this miserable game of bleeding on the floor.
I'm so over it that I go out of my way to make sure the killer has as much fun as everybody else. And it's funny because I'm the one that gets slapped on the hook like I am the one ruining somebody's fun. You could have just hooked and been halfway through another match by now.
I don't mean to be so opinionated but I see too many killers teaming with survivors just to get me when I'm just trying to do gens that I'm just over it. I don't enjoy having to drop my item repeatedly for 5 minutes but hey, when there are 2 killers in the match I'm not left much choice here.
Something has to give.
-
I could be mistaken, but hitting a survivor with your weapon means a basic attack; Nurse was nerfed by making her blink attacks not count as a basic attack so that could be why
-
You both would like Resilience for different reasons. Your friend should try Troubleshooter too because it's awesome in chase and stops him from running the killer into you
If you prefer to hang back and do gens you might like Wicked; Wicked gamers tend to not like being chased first, but when it's their turn to take the heat they can pull the rug out underneath the killer.
Oh, Babysitter is amazing too. Both Babysitter and Wicked Solves that entire " heal under hook or heal elsewhere " dilemma.

My guess was that it was because they touched Blurry Photo; bhvr rarely gives flat basekit buffs for free.

Wesker.
I genuinely DESPISE this character. It doesn't matter if I die or escape, the moment I see the killer is Wesker I just want to leave the game as soon as possible.
Terribly designed killer that should have never been added to the game.
The one thing that saves Wesker for me is looping him on fire barrels; his ability to smoothly glide around God loops but inability to handle one lil barrel is comical...then he overshoots and he zooms past you and vaults a random pallet.
