Yeah I was thinking about that too. Teleporting with Survivor seems very unique and interesting, but nothing on Killer side is new at all.
Who would buy this killer if your opponent is having more fun than you, and you almost got nothing new in return? It's stupid.
almost as if the killer is the game master who sets the tone for the trial. not everyone is here sweating chasing an invisible number. some of us value fun
I play xeno so people can have fun too
-
Springtrap+ Freddy is the "fun for the whole family" comp
-
hook secured
-
nothing beats the feeling of 8 hooking and accidentally sacrificing the duplicate survivor. feels bad man
-
killers having mobility is an 80s classic trope fact is, without some mobility killers are a laughingstock that arent respected due to comms unless they are incredibly dangerous that they probably arent fun to face. for me that would be Artist.
i prefer to judge by the full kit; Dracula is strong, but juking bat is fun and ill take that killer over the Houndmaster.

Nobody Likes to see losing content if you are a negative Nancy.
Just bring good vibes, maybe have a goal to work towards. There can be things to learn, or show from a lost match.

See, there is the problem. You are mending when the legion runs away. That's not what you should do. You should run to a gen, start working on it, and wait until the mending bar is almost empty, THEN start mending. By then the legion is super far away, or chasing someone else or doing something else.
Of course if they keep chasing you, then you don't need to worry about mending, you just loop.
Insta menders are the easiest prey; they are predictable because they stand still, and possibly just get restabbed.
-
Need more killers. Still waiting for the Funknown.
-
People started to lose game sense by relying on perks, so somehow that's the survivors problem. Taking Distortion you could see how much killers refuse to use their eyes.
People got upset that they had Lethal countered by 4 Distortion once so they pretended to be concerned for survivors by saying it's in their best interest to nerf it.
Safe to say, that was a sham. Killers spawn in and immediately bee line you in 5 seconds and there's nothing new players can do about it.

it didnt happen that much since nobody really brought keys. but the chance when a survivor got one from a chest was absolutely ######### annoying
Rightfully so; keys were the "tunnel me" item. Randomly taking a broken key with no addons was a quick way to get buried as killers would make sure your team couldn't bypass the Generators
After that they'd have to check on your corpse since if you were swf your corpse was the most valuable thing in the trial

The suspense is killing me
-
Thank you kindly. I've been watching Hens play fnaf in anticipation but the waits killing me now. Hyped to see that ptb
-
I love more things to do. I love Pinhead, I love Xeno, I love Vecna, he'll I even liked Sadako 2.0
What i don't love is people ignoring counterplay and then yell and get upset and deflect blame afterwards. I suppose that's just dbds equivalent of "5 insta lock DPS" In Rivals. If people don't wanna try, you can't fix that. So that shouldn't stifle creativity.

What Nemesis players are you seeing that can't even reach T2???
Quad Finesse Lithe SWFS will do it
-
That was my introduction to dbd. I miss it a lot.
I don't want all the day Corn to go tho, I really enjoy the vibes of Thompson House for my "first match of the day" experience. But I definitely want all the others back!
-
This was one of my fears from og 2v8; this game breaks super easily that waiting in queue is bound to cause troubles.
Just playing survivor i run into lobby issues almost daily.

A day late but, these types of fixes do not require a download by the player, there's things we can do on our end that resolve the issue. The issue with the Quests and the AC's were resolved yesterday on our side, also the issue with players having lost some Lore previously when the last update was made.
Don't mind me but thank you folks for fixing Adam's Scroll Merchant outfit
-
Dang, that's a great idea too. Shame it didn't work. I'd love to see those grenades hide auras

Just curious but would it be in the spirit of the survivors just screamed yet didn't give a location ping? Just randomly screaming in the dark?
I'd take that compromise. It just bothered me on principle because those killer powers are based off Terror Radius.
Vecna for example could still find people with his orb, That didn't bother me as that was more of a natural meta shift.

That's pretty patronizing. I thought his points were valid, especially when the killer role is struggling* to find strength and variety. There have been times when I've played Ghoul and thought to myself "I'd rather play Legion." Legion doesn't lose access to his power, which is the point of picking the killer, just for doing basic game functions like kicking pallets. Ghoul was played over Legion by far because he had greater potential* to be strong and win. But after this torrent of nerfs against him, and now with MORE anti-camp and -tunnel to come? I really don't know anymore.
I have actually gone back to Legion myself haha
-
Id play 3rd person killer just for Warhammer Titan but otherwise it doesn't sound appealing. I like the killing feeling personal
1st person survivor sounds fun though

If they bring back Lights Out, that's another game mode that is not 2v8 or Chaos Shuffle and is not overplayed. Its second take was pretty balanced all things considered.
Bhvrs only mistake with that mode was not just telling Doc and Legion players to go play Civilization. Those killers aren't supposed to work, and violate the spirit of the mode. They had no right to exist in it
-
Now that Oni and Legion are here, it's time for some REAL 2v8.
Remove the catchup mechanic, remove all 2v8 buffs, and add every possible killer. See what happens.
People like Oni got crazy buffs but Nemesis is kinda languishing.
-
I like the idea as it forces killers to actually win chases and kill and not just starve survivors to death

1000 ping is flat out "stand still and afk" levels of bad it's unplayable. There's no advantage. At 1000 ping you're attacking ghosts
-
Triple digital ping lobby, with my enemy wesker over 300 ping. I can't loop that
I live right outside bhvr headquarters this is weird
-
Without the catchup mechanic, I guarantee the queue times would be better as killers would get frustrated and quit.
Playing other killers than Oni Legion you have to sweat pretty hard with routine slugging and hook harassment.
-
I got burned pretty hard last night like this. Only 1 death at 1 gen, but only I was doing the last one. I got it to 99, got shaken off then hooked and left to die because "somebody else will get me"
They all died. Easiest 7 man out I ever saw, too. Aaaaaaaah

wouldn't Shadow be the worst class for Legion and anybody playing with them tho, since being undetectable directly hinders info you get by killer instinct while you are in power?
Shadow only sucks if your teammates take it. You lose the undetectable once you stab
-
Its probably for the best imo; face camping kills pressure trading 1 whole killer to remove 1 survivor doesn't sound efficient to me.
However, a face camper triggering the cage move forces the killer to move, keeping some pressure while roughly guessing where the cage will be anyways, allowing you to time rescues.
Oh, and you can kill survivors by moving Cages. Makes last second saves impossible if the killer moves the cage

This is the key here, you need to have a good teammate. He's a solid enough Killer in 2v8 but my god he CANNOT carry. You need the other Killer to be on point so you can have a nice back and forth with each other, otherwise he is going to suffer. If you DO have a competent teammate though, you will find the chaos of Survs trying to deal with your louder teammate often means they won't notice you coming from nowhere, marking them, or ambushing them. In that way, he's a lot like a better Wraith with extra info - for some reason everyone whines about Reveal but forgets that it gives him info, and in 2v8, even gives your partner info. It deadass tells your partner where you need help, and if the partner has speed…
He does have terrible trouble on Coldwind which is just too bright and open for him. Ormond is a little better but not much. But these are issues he has always had, so no surprise there.I'd rather be paired with him than a Wraith or a Trapper TBH, most of the Ghosties I've gotten have been pretty decent at him. The haste he gets seems to really help the most.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3928787#Comment_3928787
He has it in Shroud basekit in 2v8, all the time, while in Shroud. They DID basekit it for 2v8, it's just always active. Also, prestige does not equal skill, we don't know anything about how good you actually are at Ghostface just saying you're p100. I'm not saying you're bad at him or not skilled, but you can't just plunk your prestige down as if that means much, anyone can p100. You can p100 someone without playing them even. How many hours have you played Ghostface as your Main? That'd give us a better idea.
Funnily enough friend I've been going to the Corn a fair bit. I keep getting Nemesis there.I think I'll take the corn blindnessover the open Dead Dawg

Been playing some matches on both sides with @HeroLives
We have not had too many bad experiences. Of course, the occasional sandbagger, but we have been having a pretty good escape rate, not gonna lie.We have encountered several Oni + Legions, but most of them has not been that bad to play against.
Scout class pretty much hard-counters Oni in loops, thanks to the aura read.Thank goodness I haven't seen them running shadow too much..
-
After trying him out i gotta say he's not bad. Main issue is that for m1 killer he's competing against Legion who has more roster synergy. Not everyone appreciates the Exposed.
Maybe once we get more killers Danny will have more to work with. Working with something like Wraith is pretty solid. I've been having ok luck maintaining stealth but I admit I did so under the assumption I could rely on my teammates.
-
I've noticed this too and I don't understand it
I won't ask too many questions though, for whatever reason baba yaga makes me upset like vacuum cleaners and plastic bags do, so the wereelk is asmr as far as I'm concerned
Even in the last 2v8 I saw a ton more than normal
-
I think he's probably in the best spot we can ask for, love it or hate it; he is strong with built in strong counterplay. I doubt we'll see a better iteration for both sides than we do now
I like him

@PatchNoir said:
agree with all you said bro, if you get a Oni + legion, or nurse, or wesker its kinda easy, but get a trapper + wraith and get smashed.
Trapper have the problem on disarms too, my bro is miserable on 2x8 since the disarm timer is kinda the same as in the base game + more people to see where he is putting traps and more people to rescue from the rare ones that work
I find trappers biggest problem is just the existence of the scout class, necessitating the need for the Shadow class. Scouts the one class that makes me wanna switch off Trapper if my mate steals Shadow
-
Will this not just move the goalposts? If we make all noises equal, people will just make threads saying Claudette is OP, or women in general are op. Dbd players are never happy
Before anybody tries, I'm a p100 Feng and I enjoy playing Claire and Bill
-
IIt Forces killers to have to actually make plays and not just stall for a battle of attrition
I know i get downvoted a lot for sticking up for killers in 2v8 but that's because I think things are relatively balanced with the "everything is op" approach

Haven't killer queues in 2v8 always been horrible?
I'm still pretty sure it's because having a friend to run killer with is more appealing, not because something is 'broken'. Not that it doesn't contribute, but I don't think it's the root cause.People having fun=bad
As much as I'd love to dive more into the nitty gritty of the 2v8 killer meta, this mode is bringing in people who would normally never play the killer role.

They just have infinite power, and slugs for more downs.
How do they have infinite power? If the answer is "Legion" then I'll simply respond with "medic class"

I played 8 games and didn’t escape a single time yet. Lots of Oni/Legion combos. In prior 2v8 events, I had no problem escaping on a regular basis - more often than normal 1v4 solo queue. Either survivor players got a lot worse since then, or BHVR went way overboard tweaking the balance between last event and this one.
What boggles my mind is why BHVR thought that this time around there should be more incentive to play killer and less incentive to player survivor in 2v8 mode. Are they going for a new record on killer queue wait times for this one? That seems to be the only explanation.
I think survivor is perfectly balanced, but we really need more classes. We could use a Boon class, a blast mine/chem trap class, a proper chase/distraction build etc.
I don't think we've seen any new classes since the first 2v8, only modifications such as giving Scouts Any Means Necessary. Now we have technically lost features with the removal of herbs
