Listen I've made a lot of negative comments about the state of DBD. But I've noticed that a lot of streamers recently (and friends) have quit DBD. I have friends with 10k+ hours that's quitting now and like the game just isn't that enjoyable anymore.
I don't know about yall opinions but even back in the days with infinites, stretched res, dead hard the game was more enjoyable. Killer is just way too easy now I mean I play without perks and win basically all my matches. SoloQ isn't fun either you lose matches due to bad teammates. My point is the game doesn't need to be super balanced. It isn't a competitive game and while I agree that infinites and that shouldn't be a thing I still found it more enjoyable playing against meta builds back in 2017 - 2020 and losing than I do now when I'm winning basically EVERY SINGLE MATCH.
I don't care if you agree with my opinion or not, but if you have played DBD for a while did you find it more enjoyable back then? How important is balancing? and do you think that its possible to have fun on both sides while one side is arguably better/easier?
I haven't played dbd in many months until just recently and its honestly disappointing tbh. It was definitely better back then. The in-game community vibe was even different (if you know what I'm saying). I am a survivor main, so this may be slightly bias, but it seems they killed some perks. Dead Hard imo was fine the way it was before. It was able to be countered before and now its just dry. Honestly, now that it's SUPER balanced, the game is bland and it needs some serious seasoning. I also really do not like the new wiggle mechanic. When they let us try it, I hated it and stuck to using my analog stick and now I guess I'm forced to use that mechanic. **Nobody has to agree with my opinion**

She just needs to see the doctor, she'll be fine...😌

I haven't played dbd in a while and I hop on and a camping bubba was my first game.... He was also a streamer on twitch. I think devs said in the past that the best strategy is to just do gens... I find that stupid because it defeats the purpose of playing in the first place, we play for the interaction with the killer... also I am not gonna hang around until I die while teammates do gens....

Maybe check yourself as to why it bothers you so much that David is gay
I'm part of the lgbt community and I'm not fan of it... he is still straight in my book... I'd rather we just left these things to our imagination

I'm a survivor main, I personally haven't had CoH be a problem at all when I play killer, but , just an idea, maybe after the killer cancels the boon, the survivor has to wait a minute and 30 seconds to maybe 2 minutes before they can make a new CoH totem, with the added 4 seconds 🤷🏼♂️
-
The snowmen really make me laugh, they're really cute, good times come from this event :)

I agree we should have a console only cross-play option, I don't see the issue. People would still play on the original cross-play (I'd play on both). There are a lot of pc players anyways
-
This is currently how I feel, there are some that I could have moved up or down, but 🤷🏼♂️
-
From my perspective, you don't see killers giving hatch not nearly as much as you used to in the past. I do see survivors offering to be hooked and you didn't see much of that at all in the past. This is my personal experience anyway.
-
I prefer the original portraits tbh, I mean Quentin's needs updated... just not that...
-
I like the map
-
I think I remember the devs saying they were going to make camping less enticing
-
The last MM system was really good for me, but this time I am getting teammates that aren't doing gens nor saving... 🤷🏼♂️

We got Pinhead (which is cool) and some minor tweaks to The Nemesis and that's all. We didn't get a new map/ new survivor/ survivor perks/ or map rework.
They could've at least made it clear that it was a paragraph and not a chapter in the teaser.
It's probably better this way so we don't have the countless amount of bugs or problems like the last chapter. One thing at a time is fine with me.

Have they turned the bans back on? I had to quit the game a couple of days ago due to being stuck in an infinite loading screen. I didn't have a ban when I loaded the game straight back up again.
I don't know when they turned them back on, but my ban time was only for about 3 mins.
-
@TheMadCat said:
No. What platform do you play? How's your Internet going right now?
I play on xbox, but it only happened once. I never got disconnected randomly until they turned the bans back on. I dont believe it was my internet. The ban was for about 3 minutes.

I think a crowbar would be better used for breakable walls
The camped survivor should not depip
-
When I do it, it means no one is coming for me
-
I hope they extend the event and also the rift because its just unplayable. I cannot complete the challenges
-
The biggest problem I have with the game is optimization. It is so bad on console. This needs fixed asap, like.. no more chapters until its fixed pls.

This happened to me a few days ago with DBD and OW. Do a hard reset of the xbox. Unplug everything and plug it back in. That's what worked for me.
This worked, thanks!

If you are genrushing killer has to play more dirty. That is legal. Also if killer is camping you can finish 5 gens. There 3 survivors are free in map. Do gens.
Also there will be so much pallet because killer wanted camp and this pallets never used. So when killer started new chase use them so easly, other 2 survivors will have so much time finish last gens and open gates. You 3 survivors escaped. Killer has 1 kill only and so little points. Next game killer will think about no camping.
If I am being facecamped and my teammates are doing gens, I am not just going to hang there, I will suicide and get into the next game, I'm just saying

Doctor, I never have fun going against him regardless of the outcome of the match

Okay that is a thing itself, why do the guys not have butts? Like give 'em some cake

I don't want the survivors to change too much... except maybe Quentin's face

@KingFrost said:
They should at least say "__ Player gave you props". That way those of us on console could at least be like "Hey, good game!" to those on other consoles/pc.
Yeah I agree, I also like @AndreasB 's idea of receiving extra bloodpoints when someone gives you props
Edit: sorry I meant xp

@darkcloudlink ⬆️ This is the answer I got when I asked the community
Hope it helps!

I hate breakable walls - survivor main
-
The Doctor
He's no fun to go against no matter the outcome of the match

Do you guys just want easy games? Pig is fine...

People who say the thong doesn't fit Claudette's character are narrow minded goofs. Lots of different girls wear thongs from the "nerd" to the "sl*t," it makes no sense....

I finished the challenge literally right after I posted this. I still stand by what I said though. I just had the best scenario I could get in normal gameplay.

quoting from another post I made about this same thing:
Yes it was. Don't know who lied to you.
"serves the purpose to protect you from being tunneled/ farmed"
source: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/48381/design-decisive-strike#latest
Also if you're talking about what that one dev said, he said its not "purely" for tunneling. So it still is mostly for tunneling, just not only. But for all we know the other use case looks like being farmed if the first source is anything to go by. That quote being twisted is probably the biggest piece of misinformation floating around DBD right now.
"The idea of it being purely to stop tunneling came from the community."
@Zeus saw you asking for a source of the quote so I linked you in to this post. The quote is being twisted by a lot of people to fit their views as stated above.
I'm not twisting sh*t, the op asked if it was an anti-tunnel perk and the dev said NO. When the perk was first created, it was not meant to be an anti-tunnel perk. You could tell just by how it functioned. It clearly got reworked and it does help with tunneling. I am glad you cared enough to dig up that info. Now me, I don't care that much... I rarely even use DS. I don't even play DBD as much as I used to... I was just passing on info that was NOT twisted to fit my narrative.
-
I said I don't remember who said it so therefore no source. It wasn't my post and I have no idea if I commented on it. Idc that much to check either. Regardless it was said and thats why I said what I said. I rarely ever even use DS. No reason to lie and if you don't believe me, oh well, it is what it is. 🤷🏼♂️
Idk why devs would say two different things

Really?
'We decided to put a timer on Decisive Strike as one of the solutions to Decisive Strike being used too often, we tried 2 minutes internally and found that players were able to use DS a long time after being unhooked, where it no longer serves the purpose to protect you from being tunneled/ farmed'
Source: Q&A session regarding DS rework.
A dev on these forums, I don't remember who, said it was never meant to be an anti-tunnel perk, that is just what the community came up with.

I personnaly don't mind DS, it just means I can kill you easier but the fact that it activates no matter the health (grabs) or you do objectives just proves that it's not anti-tunneling but truly immunity over the killer
It was never meant to be an anti-tunnel perk.

You're missing the whole point here. DS timer starts when the survivor gets unhooked and not when he gets hooked. And you could have hooked 2 other people before that person gets unhooked. And that unhooked person will have DS and just rescue others and they all will have DS and they will force DS by going inside locker. Breaks killer's momentum. And DS is advertised as anti tunnel and not anti momentum by the devs themselves.
If you play killer you'll know that you get hit by DS even though you didn't tunnel. You can't ignore someone who just does gens in front of you with a whole minute of immunity. If you slug, he'll have UB and SG and just run away. Also survivors can force DS by sitting on gens or medium vaulting windows and you grab them at the heat of the moment. The person with DS can bodyblock the killer who is busy chasing another survivor. If you hit him, you lose distance. If you dont, you still lose distance. Lose lose situation. DS has so many flaws that extends beyond remembering who has DS.
Even the devs get hit by DS and wonder when they hooked that survivor. But since they don't play competitively they won't really mind that. But for high rank killers, eating one DS would massively hurt them.
Idk if anybody else has said anything already or not, but last I checked the dev's specifically said DS is NOT an anti-tunnel perk. That is just what the community came up with.
-
Honestly that is a big nerf... I do hope its a bug. Exit gates spawn very close to each other anymore... its basically death now.
Edit: It's basically death if you are the last survivor... since I didn't make that obvious Jill.
-
Honestly he is no fun for me to go against regardless of the outcome of the match... its just boring and annoying.

There are other anti tunneling perks. Besides, if they jump in a locker to fight off a killer they're more likely using head on, which is good enough.
DS is instant when jumping in a locker. If they use Head On they have to wait, I believe 3 seconds, to use it... thats not that reliable when being tunneled. Also Head On is a 3 second stun and DS is 5 seconds (except DS is currently bugged with stun time... unless they fixed already 🤷🏼♂️). I wouldn't say Head On is "good enough," if you're being tunneled, odds are your not going to have the opportunity to use it.

Nice list you got there. All of these were reasonable and neccessary as without those DBD was the most unbalanced game I ever came across. I disagree with certain wordings as they seem a little bit loaded.
Are you upset about these or would you argue the heavy nerfing of Survivors wasn´t justified? Genuinely curious.
Not that you asked, but the one I'm most bummed about are the breakable walls and I hope they don't keep adding them into the map updates, but I know they will.

And deactivating during locker entry along with those. Yes, that would about cover it.
If it's turning into an anti-tunnel perk then it shouldn't deactivate because the survivor jumped into a locker. Odds are they jumped in the locker because the killer is tunneling.
-
Honestly, when I play on cross-play, the other xbox players are usually better than anyone else. People on cross-play are terrible and btw... globe does not necessarily equal console player.... Again, mods should take down posts like these that talk bad on others... Mods where ya at?? Also, fps does affect surviors on console whether pc players want that out there or not. It is what it is.
-
@StarLost said:
I'd also be happy to see it not work against grabs, or deactivate the second you enter a locker.
If it would change into an anti-tunnel perk, it should still be active if the survivor jumps into a locker... odds are the killer is tunneling still if the survivor jumps into a locker.

Nah I'm just saying that if people keep getting bad console teammates then it's better to turn off crossplay and nothing wrong with console killers console killers are fine but the survivors for consoles are just bad (course there are good ones but I've seen a lot of bad console players) like really bad I've watched them play and it made me realized I gotta turn off the crossplay and you know what it was worth it because I got better teammates that didn't get down in the last 10 seconds of the start of the game or didn't keep making terrible mistakes, and it's always the console players that are the first to die or DC right away
Honestly everyone on crossplay is bad. That is the main reason why I turned it off. Terrible teammates! I'm on xbox btw. Oh and the globe doesn't necessarily mean its a console player if your on pc js.

Nevermind :)
