Nvm lol I just continued and saw this in the news

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Sprint Burst (I guess it's meta? I see a lot of people with it now because of Dead Hard getting dedicated most of the time anyway).

Maybe it's because unlike most Claudettes who like to crouch walk everywhere, I am almost always sprinting to wherever I am going whether I am in a chase or not. I absolutely hate having to walk everywhere and it seems pointless to just walk until the killer is almost on top of you to begin sprinting away when I could, y'know, just sprint from the get-go and have a 10 seconds head start instead of waiting-five-seconds-to-get-a-three-second-head-start.

Yeah, I play too aggressive to use Sprint Burst

  • Unfortunately rn, there are a lot people in red ranks that don't belong... after we get the new matchmaking system, it shouldn't be that common... hopefully

  • I just had a game where some fake red rank survivors is, I'm guessing, killing my skill. We were facing a hag and I crouched to save both of these survivors and they just run away and the trap goes off and they get downed and hooked again and I got no points for the Benevolent category and depipped. Is that something thats going to be considered skill?

They legit played like they never played before, I asked one of them what rank they were and they confirmed their rank to be true to what the game says it to be. It must be way too easy to reach red ranks rn and I'm thinking it's killing my future placement. The hag was red rank too and played like maybe a rank 11 or 12

I guess it wouldn't matter in the end because even if the future placement is not very accurate we would just move up anyways.

  • My favorites are the chibis

  • I voted for Spirit since the Wraith isn't there

  • The Doctor will always be my enemy! I don't like to face him at all! I like to play as him tho, easy 3-4k.

I have all the killers, but I don't play them all and there are some I still have not played, so based on the killers I have played... I don't like to play the Hag because the last time I played her, I sweat my butt off for the 4k and it was a very stressful game and I think I am just scarred now haha.

Opting out only for specific consoles won't be possible, I'm ready to bet real money on that.

The difficulties and technical costrains that would derive from that option are NOT solvable without creating massive inconsistencies.

    Picture this:

You are a PS4 player, and you want to play only with PS4 and XBOX players for whatever reason

I am also a PS4 player, but I'm fine with playing with everyone because I want to have shorter queue times

Jake is a PS4 player that wants to play only with PS4 players

Since we are all on PS4, we get matched all in the same lobby, but we are missing 2 other players to start the match, and those players could only be from PS4, since Jake doesn't want to play with anyone else.

Result: Jake (who is fine with longer queue time) gets what he wants, me and you have to wait more to start a match because of him.

Inb4: ceating different pools of players for each combination of the matchmaking would split even more the playerbase, creating longer queue times for everyone.

It is easier (for the devs) and better (for the community) to have only a YES/NO option for crossplay altogether, like what we have now for Steam / Windows store

    I see what you're saying

  • I would probably get behind the killer while their in a chase or maybe hide when you hear them coming

I got this on my first attempt because the killer messaged me and asked to farm so I didn't have to try

  • Im not a tech person so idk how bad the difference is, but I don't see no harm in being able to opt out of cross play with a specific platform. Judging by a lot of things I've read on here, it seems console gets s**t on a lot, like why are we just making sure one platform is good (PC). Opting out of cross play all together leads to long queue times and opting out of specific platform will be longer too, but obviously its worse opting out of all of them. Y'know?

  • I switch it up, but the Tome challenges do help. I like to make builds based on the challenge I'm doing, but I like to mix it up with or without the Tome challenges too. The Tome challenges sometimes does force me to use perks I never use, like today I used Boil Over and its a very weak perk imo... I would most likely not use it if there wasn't a challenge it was good for

I honestly don't run a full meta build ever.

This is the order on what I use the most from the meta perks you mentioned

    DH, BT, DS, Adrenaline, Unbreakable

DH is my go to Exhaust perk (I do use others) Doesn't always work tho

BT I use sometimes, more often than the others currently

DS I only use if I've been tunneled a lot that day, but I hate to use it because a lot if the time its not worth it; not able to be used

Adrenaline- Honestly I should use this perk more often because it has really saved my butt

    Unbreakable- I don't use it...

Perks that are not those that I like to use are:

Resilience- I probably run this and DH the most of any perk, love it! This is probably my favorite survivor perk... its also my pic lol I just realized that

Spine Chill- It synergizes well with Resilience and there was I time when I felt naked when not using it, but I dont really use it anymore

Iron Will- very good perk and also synergizes well with Resilience

Quick and Quiet- It can really confuse the killer, I'm not a sneaky hider survior btw

Nancy's Locker Perk- clean a totem and jump in a locker to heal for I think 8 seconds (I'm thinking of these on the spot btw)

Bond- Lets you know what your teammates are up to... odds are not much...

Well, those are some perks that I like to use that are not in the meta you mentioned.

  • Honestly, the nerfs are pretty fair, like the god loops should have been fixed a long time ago (survivor main btw).... I do understand your frustration about the camping, I think the devs said their working on something to make camping less appealing. Honestly though, I don't understand how they have fun by just standing in one spot or walking around a hooked survivor the whole trial. Now I do understand camping in certain circumstances, like in end game.

  • I'm a survivor main and I see nothing wrong with the Spirit. She is actually really fun to go against, but I guess everyone has that one killer they wish would just disappear for good.

  • If they had cross save/progression, what we already bought should definitely be apart of that imo. All our outfits, characters and what we got from the rift.

  • This happens at all ranks, like even rank 20s and yes its bs, but they are working on it

  • I haven't played this game in a while, but my go to is the Wraith and then probably The Spirit

I was a survivor main, but when I played killer those were the killers I played because I always had more fun with them.

  • It was between Halloween and Stranger Things for me. I went with Stranger Things because its not a movie.

Nah Bring it on if you have a flashlight but if you do this with a key you are scum.

Lol If I have challenge where I have to escape using a key (Only time I use a key), I'm gonna do what I got to do and I have done this, with flashlights too

I never said that it was fun to be camped. I agree that it’s not fun, but it does have counters (Unless it’s Leatherface). The Killer doesn’t owe you a fun game, the onus is on you to make it fun for yourself.

Im horrible at looping Killers, and when I get caught, I get aggravated as well, but I’m not going to rage at the Killer. It’s my fault that I didn’t buy my team much time to do gens. It’s also aggravating that Survivors rush the hook and just hide around it when they see the Camper. Instead they should just rush gens. If more Survivors rushed gens when a Killers camp, the less you will see campers.

Right now, camping is an option for Killers because Survivors keep feeding them.

I didnt say they owe me fun lol I'm saying the devs need to figure out a way to make this more balanced because the scenario I described right now really isn't.

I never came on here and ranted about camping (this thread is probably the only time I have ranted about it) until xbox caught up with everyone else and now the matchmaking is crazy which leads to toxicity

I don't message killers nor survivors when they do scummy things (I have in the past, but no longer)... unless they message me first, I might

They’re working on matchmaking, they have repeatedly stated that.

As for camping, don’t blame the Devs, blame the Survivors who would abuse any mechanics that would discourage camping.

You also have the option of getting nag better at the game and do your best to not get caught. Isn’t that the point of the game?

This is the first time I'm experiencing this horrible matchmaking (I play on xbox) so I've let some steam off on here like most ppl do...

I don't care if they camp their just not good at the game and it can be because as you said the toxic survivors, but also because they dont take the time to learn killer. What I don't like is when they camp and then hit the survivor who just came off and the unhooked survivor had no chance to do anything. Once you get unhooked you are forced to stand there and take that hit and then get hooked again. If you cant see why thats not fun nor fair then you must be bias. Only counter to that is if the teammates brought BT and maybe DS. Other than that your forced to have a bs match.

I know what I am doing as a survivor and everyone who plays survivor gets caught (not every game)... I dont care if I survive or not, I just want to play and not sit on a hook the whole game... also playing solo and with the terrble matchmaking we currently have, you get teammates who have no clue what their doing so odds are Im dying on that first hook... not fun

    EDIT:

I just want to make it clear I am not talking about anytime after the last gen is completed

  • Honestly that sounds so stupid... yes I will just hang here my whole game because that is so much fun...

Seriously they need to do something about that... along with their terrible matchmaking...

  • @RareOmen said:

You said yourself that we all play this game to have fun, just because one thing isn't fun for you doesn't mean it isn't for the other. Maybe securing that one kill is in fact fun for them. At the end of the day it technically is easier to 3v1 there is no debate about that. Whether the man taken out was tunneled or not, a 3v1 is always easier than a 4v1.

When I play killer I don't tunnel unless certain conditions are met, but to the ones that do take the easy way out it's almost always a certain victory. You said you were aware that "tunneling" isn't considered -insert bad word- by BHVR, it may be frowned upon by the community but just because it's not fun for you why should the killer not be rewarded for doing his job? Which is killing.

"It’d derank killers into appropriate brackets until they learn how to play the game properly."

The only proper way to play this game is by not using exploits, hacks, or glitches that give an unfair advantage to the game. You not only want the killer to not receive bloodpoints for hooks, but you want them Deranked as well? I'm sorry but that shouldn't be a thing.

The survivors aren't receiving bloodpoints and are losing pips because of this...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/150754/error-in-matchmaking-to-xbox

It's not just XBOX, it's every platflorm. There has been matchmaking issues for quite some time now.

It's never been this bad for Xbox, it started maybe week or less ago and this is just about every game now and it is not fun at all for either party...

  • I know... Today I went up against Rank 18-20 killers and playing with new survivors back to back and its no fun what so ever...

For me its killing the game... I'd rather wait longer for a fair match

I play on Xbox One in red ranks too

  • I understand your frustration, but tunneling and camping is considered a legit strategy by the developers. I do believe the killers lose bloodpoints by camping too close to the hooked survivor.

Lo siento... hablo un poco de español... muy poco.

  • I was just about to report this

It must happen on all platforms and in the same spot on Lery's Institute

    Xbox One

    20200430_030556.png

  • That's not the case on xbox, I play solo and every game we just do the gens whether someone else is on it or not.

  • Omg I've had a guy send me 32+ invites on xbox

The first time we met we were both survivors and he was mad because I tried to heal him on the ground and had to let go because the killer came back... it paused his tenacity and then I tried to flashlight save and missed so he wasnt very happy... so he invited me 32+ times

The next time we met (7 months and 4 days later), he was on the survivor side and I was the killer and I killed him :)

    So he messaged me again...

You can tell by the date we are both single lol

  • The corn cannot only benefit the survivor, but some killers too

  • Xbox One

    Happens all the time

It's true, it's like he has extended arms that we can't see and dead hard very very very very much rarely works when he swings (almost never). The exhausted status effect icon would appear on the side. It's all very frustrating.

  • I voted Chucky because I think it would be so creepy to see a doll come after you

  • I'd rather chucky be doll size... it would be creepier

Many people also tbag once or twice if they see a other survivor or something. Tbagging isnt just to be toxic. Tbagging can also be a language. Like if i fail a skillcheck on a Generator with other people i Tbag twice to say sorry. Or at the beginning i Tbag once to say ,,Hey". Its from person to person different what Tbagging means. Sure some people to it to be tpxic but many people also use it as an language. Evem if you stun a killer with a pallet and tbag once or twice it doesnt need to be toxic. It can also just mean something like ,,That was close" or something. Of course its not easy or sometime even possible to read it right but you cant also say that every tbag is meant to be toxic even if the most of the people use it as a ,,Toxic emote"

I understand as a survivor of you tbag for hi or ty for healing me, but as a killer... we are not on the same team... I'm coming for dat butt. I see it as you taunting me... I see it as toxic behaviour and if one is toxic to me, I'll be toxic back by camping and tunneling you (The only time I camp and tunnel). I am a survivor main and don't play killer much at all, so I have no problem throwing the game just to punish a tbagger 😄

prob is...just like on reddit when ppl upvote themselves on alt accounts LOL

Funny ppl complain about docs time wasting aspects...umm...thats the point so you are not mindlessly gen rushing...survivors say "give us other things to do" and then want to do nothing but gen rush and finish a game as quick as possible.

No I'm just someone looking for the best way to counter him because theres not much you can do, but I read some things that may help and Im going to try to adapt to those, but my opinion stands. I feel he's got a lot going for him... This is the only killer I've ever really had problem with...

I've never said I want something else to do other than gens btw, but I don't mind if there is something else to do... I was just listing what the doc can do...

*If you cannot have a mature discussion on this please don't reply*

  • I didn't read your whole post... I'm also too lazy...

I am a survivor main, I didn't have any issues with the old ruin... sure it was annoying, but I just worked through it...

  • IDK, i think the doctor needs nerfed, there is no real way to counter him... hes got way too much going for him and its just not enjoyable at all and its even worse when you have to face him every game rn.

He gets his four perks like every killer and then he has more perks to his individual power...

    He can reveal our location

Hallucinations doctor and pallets (add-on tho)

    Skill check placement

The line goes clockwise and counterclockwise for the skill checks

Madness III - scream intermittently, can't do anything until we snap out of it (time waster)

If shocked cant throw down pallets if the doctor knows what he is doing which red rank ppl do... also cant use DH

He's also fast for having all these perks

I've been depipping... there is just no real way to counter him... hiding in lockers isnt as good as some think... he is just no fun and no i dont bully killers... thats not my kind of fun

I'd love to see the ppl's gameplay against him that say this is balanced (against a good red rank doctor obviously)... and "git gud" replies just lets me know I'm right... He's the only killer I've come on here and ranted about.

  • I would not say Nurse is the strongest on console (xbox1) at least. She is a blast to go against, but you won't see much of her.

The one I just don't enjoy going against the most is the Doctor, he's got too much going for him. He may be the strongest (for console).

  • The doctor, he's got too much going for him imo
