Spine Chill is so good, and so annoying to play around as killer...

Not just that but some have the mentality that a single survivor should have an equal chance of running the killer for all 5 gens. They always ignore the fact that it's a 4 vs 1, always want the survivor to be able to 1vs1 the killer.
Oh totly. They dont understand that in order for the game to work, the killer NEED to be able to catch survivor pretty fast, otherwise it would be totally unplayable since said killer have to do 4x3 chase to get 4k.
-
(just wait until they realize they can crouch walk over Pyramidhead stuff)
-
Nah, it's not nearly as bad.
My main problem with it is that it's so powerful that it's almost an auto include, and that's not really good for the diversity of builds.

Survivors don't choose to be tunneled, if you choose to play as a bad killer and you get destroyed don't go blaming the survivors for literally playing the game. Plus tunneling is completley different than what this discussion is about so idk what this comparison is.
Killers dont choose to be bullied by survivors and genrushed to hell and back.
If you are wounded or closer to being sacrificied than the rest of your team, they dont blame the killer for literally playing the game.
If you still dont see the link with tunelling then I dont know what else I can do for you.

Tunneling in general is fine because it's a playstyle but I don't see what that has to do what I said.
Ho, just a thought experiment, trying to see if people that just tell the killers that them being weak is not their problem could also see how a survivor being week isn't the killer problem.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
Survivors shouldn't have to dumb themselves down just because you chose to play a bad killer.
Noted. Next time some survivor will start whining about me going for the wounded unhooked I'll make sure to remind them that I shoudln't have to dumb myself down just because they where wounded.

Nah, I was talking about Glitchboi, but for some reason the post he ad about mine isn't where it was before, probably a glich, boi.
-
I mean... any "new game" could wipe out a niche product that isn't used to competition tbh, and while BHV could CLEARLY use some competition (they are SO slow and afraid when it comes to changes) the fact that the game managed to stand and I'll even arge improve over time is the proof that it has some legs to stand on.

Are you kidding?
Use pallets, use windows. You don't need flatout broken loops to buy time from the killer. How do survivors cope on maps without these kind of god windows? quite easily.
Also you don't NEED to escape the killer, just buy time for your team.
It's always mindblowing that survivors dont get that they are supposed to be part of a team. Their goal is to have the team get out, not THEM specifically. Most dont even understand what a chase is supposed to be about, it's not about trying to lose the killer (can you immagine how unplayable the game would be if surivors could just end any chase by losing the killer?!) but making him was as much time as possible on you while your team works on the gens.
-
@Blindninja said:

Exactly. That's all I'm saying here. Maybe refrain from being a double and live by your own code you want killers to live by.
They sadly can't. For some reasons they have managed to reach the Orwellian state of doublethink where they can hold two opposite value while keeping both true at the same time.
And you dont need to look any further than the guy right over me for that
@glitchboi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070757#Comment_2070757
Probably because you're overreacting, it's not the survivors at fault it's the killer being weak.
I'm sure you'll be perfectly fine with a killer just going for the guy that got unhooked recently right? Since he is already 1 hook down and probably still wounded, he is clearly weak, and after all its not the killer fault for that survivor being weak, right?
-
The reason why is because of the MMR, so it's kinda understandable.
That said, to equalize things up, surivivors shouldn't be allowed to fast swap items last seconds like that tbh.
-

Think you brother I am glad somebody finally gets it. I am not asking to throw the game in crazy stuff like that but just have fun and stop being a try hard.
I've noticed you have some really good ideas in you generally get it on this forum. Thanks for backing me up.
No problem.
But yeah, when I start chasing someone as the Trikster and I see the suvivor intentionally kitting me in a far corner of the map and then exploit my dog ######### speed to loop like no tommorow I'm just thinking "Really now? This is what we are doing? You REALLY need that to beat that garbage killer?"
But hey, remember, "tunneling and camping bad" guys.
-
@Yatol said:
eeh, it might be annoying but id rather have a survivor lobby dodge than have a AFK player in the match.
some people often dodge Keys or TTVs (myself included) so sometimes they realize at the last second and dodge.
I always dodge keys, because I dont see the point in playing a game with such an unfair advantage (that said, sometime when I feel frisky I just spam a Franklin Demise and go for it, it often works because the survivors are ultra focused on that key, but it's just lame overall), but I'll never dodge a TTV, thos guys are easy free win most of the time.
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
I figured it was an April Fools joke
I don't expect the survivors to give me free hooks anymore than I expect the killer to just let me leave
True, no killer expect free hooks, but for some strange reasons, survivors are constantly asking for free escape and even made up a whole narrative full of made up "toxic behavior" like "tunnelling" and "camping" in a sad attempt to shame the killers into playing suboptimally for them.
-
@Blindninja said:
If you all know the trickster is weak and not a threat, why are you playing as hard as you can? Just to do 5 gens real quick, never interact with him andnrun out the gate?
Ooooooo fun...
This.
I've never face that level of tryhard than when I've played trickster, somehow the fact that survivor know he is weak just make survivors double down on the genrush, and since there's litterally nothing you can do about it it's often over very quickly. He takes SO MUCH TIME to down a survivor, and he has to commit to the chase till the end ot he will just have wasted his daggers for nothing.
The survivor reaction to that killer just prove one thing to me : All that whining about wanting the game to be "fun" and "fair" is and always was a pile of rubbish, they just want to win, and when they know they will they wont even entertain the idea to "make things fun" and just go for the quick exit, with OF COURSE as much tbaging as possible infront of the game.
Not that I cared before for their cry about "campaing" and "tunneling" (ie "you didn't give me a free pass") before, but now I'm certain that they clearly dont deserve the clemency they are constantly demanding from the killers.
@Yatol said:
you are literally asking survivors to throw and not do their objective, its like asking killers to not smack survivors.
How does it feel to have a killer do the same thing that surivors do ALL the time? Ya dont like hearing whining about how you dont play suboptimally to please the other side?
How strange.
-
As someone playing him often I can confirm. Some time you get spoted when being almost entirely hidden and someone you just stand up in the open in a mexican style standoff against a survivor and the poor guy somehow dont uncloack you before you finish your stalking, its weird and inconsistent.
I think the idea is that he is easier to uncloack when he is hidding than in the open, which can create some "cinematic" moments, but it just feels like the thing is very inconsistent.

Solo Q is composed of people, just like you, that can bring their own build.
Do you have BT or Kindred on your build? If so good, you are doing your part for the team and should hope the rest will do the same, if not then you are part of the problem.

Haha, I don't blame killers profiting from survivors making stupid mistakes. Don't get me wrong tunneling sucks but if you're farming teammates what's expected?
According to numerous very vocale survivors in this very forum, they expect the killer to tip his fedora, give a tap in the back of the unhooker and go make some tea before he start patrolling again, if possible in the opposite direction that the unhooked took.

Literally in the first game I play today I get face camped and after that I played 4 more games in 2 of them someone got fact camped and in a 3rd someone got hard tunneled the entire game. So out of 5 games only one was even remotely enjoyable because that killer actually patrolled gens and put pressure on all of us so we had to actually play smart. That game ended with 3 of us dying and one escaping. The other games were 3 of us escaping and 1 person dying with most of us never even seeing the killer or getting into a chase screwing our emblems because the killer wanted to hard tunnel and face camp one person. Something needs to be done about this.

Real tunneling is getting tunneled through both hook stages. Can you tell me how DS is gonna help the tunneled survivor when it can only be used through one?
get teamate with BT
-
@aknitus said:
DS nerf was NOT AT ALL needed. It was survivors' only ticket to survival against tunneling and consecutive hooking with 60 seconds. And now it is gone if you repair, cleanse, heal, etc. Now more killers will enjoy tunneling, calling themselves pro killers and add to the toxicity.
How about the Devs do something meaningful for a change and resolve the tunneling and camping issue? Do you think low rank players enjoy getting tunneled and camped?
Also what next? Gen repair nerf or surv sprint speed nerf? Killers need to up their gameplay and strat, not have everything spoonfed by the game. And I say this as a killer myself. It disgusts me to see killers come crying here requesting for surv nerfs.
I like the fact that you titled your thread with a question that was actually rhetoric.
But yeah, no, it was needed, and MORE nerf need to be done still. They NEED to make it turn off if you get in locker, this is a textbook example of no counter strategy that needs to go.

It's obviously not their fault, it's TOTALLY the killer CaMpInG and TuNneLiNg them! It couldn't possibly be that they are just trading hooks infront of the killer
-
ofc none of thos very honest and thrustworhty survivor will tell you that it was probably because their whole team was swarming the hook and forced the killer to stay, or because the gens flew too fast and the game was already over so the killer just had to cut his loss.
Naaaah, they wont ever tell you that.
-
@SasukeKun said:
Yall need a new perk to crutch on, git good, all these people complaining is honestly just proof of how bad it was abused.
The real result of the nerf is to prove that survivors are metasheep.
The overwhelming majority of them have removed it from their build, but for some reason they still play as if they had it, which is frankly hilarious.
-
Here's the real difference that survivors LOVE to ignore tho :
Killers can't really be toxic in-game.
And before you start it, NO, camping and tunneling isn't toxic, it's a strategy that you can play around.
Killers dont have the time to BM ingame or they will lose the game.
On the other side, a STAGGERING amount of survivors go out of their ways to be actively toxic to the killer.
From the very common Tbaging or blinding on palette drop (and dont even try to pretend the blinding is a strategic move, the number of survivors that actually try to capitalize on that blind I've faced in my 2k hours of play time could be counted on the fingers of a single hand), the emoting, the flashlight clicking, the spam vaulting at the end of the game, the tbaging infront of the door and even some time for the more creative just hiding in a corner during the end game collapse to drag the game as long as possible and rub it in your face (mostly done when you get stomped and had a pretty bad time already).
And next to that there is the obvious extremely aggressive team comp, like key + map + 2 brand new parts that makes sure the killer start at an insane disadvantage for maximum unfairness, which of course comes with the voice chat that gives yet another unfair advantage.
And last but not least, the end game chat. I like how you princesses try to pretend "uwu I'm so sad the killer was mean to me" when he is always in inferiority numeric in that chat and will more often than not be dunked on by 4 people.
So yeah, can killers be toxic? Sure. I'd hargue most of it comes from accumulated frustration created by having to deal with the extremely lack of good sportmanship for the survivors, but still, its there.
But dont try to pretend its worst or even just equal to the toxicity coming from the survivor side, because it's not.. Its just not.

Back in the day, killer adept was a simple 4K.
Because of how mori worked back then, it was changed to merciless. (mori could be done right off hook and be done)
Since the changes to the pip system, it is now quite difficult to get merciless (esp at red ranks).
Additionally, mori now are only after 2nd hook.
Please, BHVR, revert the achievements for adept killer to a simple 4K, just like survivors simply have to escape. Let's see some actual balance please.
NGL, despite being a killer main I didn't even bother to try doing the killer adepts despite having all the survivor ones, and I think it says long about how unbalanced the game is right now to the point where killers are EXTREMELY dependant on their perks (and addons) while its just pure superfluous extra for the survivors.

This guy: "Golden age for tunneling."

I KNOW right?!
I ended up tunnelling a lot today, not because I was looking to do it, but literally because I keep facing full teams without any obsession, not a single BT but still full of survivor willing to facerush the hook infront of me.
Like... guys, killers weren't letting you do it because it's fun, but because thos two perks stopped them from doing it.
And guess what? They still do, so why did you suddenly all stopped using it?!

DS is SO trash that apparently surivvors forgot they aren't suposed to unhook infront of you without it.

Implying red surivor can't be potatoes (spoiler : they totally can because a lot of them are just mediocre players that boost eachothers with SWF).

But I’ll be here for when you want to explain as to why you aren’t toxic. If you give me a an actual reason rather than just saying “dude stop whining” I’d be more than happy to take it back.
My dude, here' the thing : I don't NEED to give you any "reasons" to call me whatever you want.
The world doesn't revolve around you and I frankly don't care about you opinion (shocking I know, people may not care about you in the real world!)
YOU made a bad and very generic post, YOU then proceed to double down on it by calling people that called you out for it as "toxic" and YOU are now spaming me of reply because you REALLY want that last word.

Right, if they just let you preserve it like Myers Tier lll then it'd see more use. Of course in certain circumstances this would arguable be busted under the right conditions, so reducing the time of it while also letting you preserve it would be a fair trade.
Not an insane time cut, but not one that allows you to chain down multiple survivors if your add-ons are good and your aim isn't bad. But you could also argue because of its limitations, it wouldn't need a time cut at all.
I'll be honest, I'll take any time cuts if I can in return activate it when it full whenever I want rather than in the small windows we have right now, and if it was activable on the fly without pause in the middle of throws.
But I also think the skill could be changed completely like I've described in that (lengthy) post
@_HN_ said:
If the devs needs random players feedback to realize how bad he is and how to fix him, then I'd say they need to quite their job and start working as farmer or something.
But sure, let's go ahead.
First let's pinpoint what the "fantasy" of the killer is supposed to be.
I think it's pretty clear is to have the idea of a sadistic yet extremely skilled knife thrower.
Alright, now let's check what his current kit is about :
He has a very slow stance swap animation (the time it takes him to be ready to throw)
A very slow fire rate with a windup that requires him to keep firing for a couple of second before being effective
A strong recoil that makes his shots very random and unprecise
He doesn't have a corsair, which again, makes it pretty hard to hit people with your first throw, especially at distance
A noticeable fall off which bring up the same problem that the previous point
A slow travel time that makes his mid to long range effectiveness pretty low
A low impact effect overall, when you finally hit someone, it does very little and goes away very fast
A slow when he is in throw state that increase when you start throwing blades
When a survivor is wounded by the blades he gains a speed boost the same way than he would have when hit by a M1
A M1 will drastically reduce the blade meter on survivors
A ammo count that despite looking big at first seems to always be too small (highlighting how hard it is to actually hit people with it)
And a "Main Event" that activate itself automatically and make you slow to a crawl
A base speed lower than most killers
A good lunge attack.
So, when you put all these points together, what do you get?
A killer that cannot do some quick poke to the survivors during chase because of how long it takes for him to get his blades out and how much it will slow is already low speed.
A killer that when using his skill end up throwing willy nilly blades everywhere with a very poor accuracy while being slow to a crawl, and a killer that unlike the plague cannot just chain his skill with a M1 to quickly get a take down on a healthy survivor.
I don't know about you, but I think this is the exact opposite of the lick and skilled image BVH is trying to give him.
So here's what I'll do, rather than just removing all the needless drawback he gets I would just retool him entirely, getting him away from the "spamotron" idea and bring him to a "precise and measured" killer.
First remove the swap stance time and remove all slow from it. Then remove his wind up and give his blade a cd (around 1.5s).
Give him a cross hair, drastically reduce the fall off of his blade and increase their speed.
Then reduce his ammo count to 20, and reduce the hit needed on survivors to 5.
Replace the automatic blade meter regression with an action needed by the survivor, like mending, that will remove the blades one by one and remove the blade meter reduction from M1 and the speedboost from a blade wound.
And last but not least, make him 115% speed with a normal terror radius.
The idea here is to make him a precise thrower that will be able to hit people precisely, wich even a change to do some long range hit, and be able to poke survivors around corners, windows or palettes, but he wont be able to spam blades as fast as he does now... until he use Main Event. He will also be able to get you high on blade and chain it with a M1 to create a 2 punch combo.
Main event would be an CTRL activated skill that will simply reload all his blades (no more inifnit blades) and give and double his throw speed. This will be a powerboost that he'll be able to use when needed to start snowballing.
Alternatively, something probably a bit more intersting that that Main Event would be to give him the ability to charge his blades to throw a couple of them at the same time (think Zenyata charge attack), this could lead to some interesting mindgames and burst.
An here you have it, a killer actually worth playing, with a strong identity that matches his flavor.
Is it possibly too strong? Sure, maybe, it will need some test, but I think this is the way to go. Get away from the spamy clown that randomly throw shap glass around and make him a more efficient ninjaesque killer.

-
Again, nothing wrong with playing the game in a way you find more enjoyable (and AGAIN as long as it's not just trolling the game like some people like to do), but just because you enjoy a suboptimal way more doesn't mean you are playing the game right.
And you need to get out of that mentality that "you tunnel to make things easier for you", that's not the case you are just solving the problem logically. Nobody would say a survivor going for a gen 90% done is just "making things easier for him", he is just playing the game in the most logical and efficient way.

Out of most matches I probably only use Show Stopper when there's no windows, pallets, or corners around. Otherwise the power just get wasted since by the time I get it I already downed someone, hooked them, and the power ends.
But in the right circumstances, though rare, it's quite effective in downing multiple survivors. Add Trick Knife and Thumb Drive and you're downing people left and right.
Otherwise yeah, most survivors who know what to do against The Trickster will naturally abuse loops you can't possible catch up to. Unfortunately there isn't much of a fix to that, either break the chase or power through to either get stunned or lose multiple gens.
I'd say that the clunky way Main Event activate (you need to throw a blade at someone, then totally stop to be able to activate the thing itself that will THEN take a couple of seconds AGAIN) coupled with the fact that you STILL need to spend a good couple of seconds targeting someone to get it down while being extremely slowed down often means that you just wont have any chance to down more than one person... often a person that you would have down anyway since you were already throwing blades at them (its the reason why you got Main Event activated in the first place), and stopped for a couple of second to get the main event started.
That's one of the main problem of Main Event (outside of the fact that for some baffling reasons you cannot just keep it ready to use whenever you see fit), it's activation takes way too long and is way too clunky, having to stop throwing at someone to then start the event feels just bad, the thing shouldn't have an activation delay and should be usable while already throwing blades.
-
Aight I can get that, but you must understand that you aren't really "playing the game" you are just having having fun your way.
Nothing wrong with that (unless you are just torlling the game), but you can't compare it to people actually trying to play by the rules and get the win condition defined by the game rules at the end.

Only responding to the list where you quoted me.
Because I play both sides and I hate being targeted over and over by the killer while they ignore everyone else nearby. I like having fun while I play, it's a game it's meant to be fun, and I rather make it a fun experience for survivors who play against me as well. You don't have to be a tryhard to win games. Just outplay them.
I dont want to throw any assumption you way, but I guess you aren't very high rank as killer then, right?
Because past the point where you face potatoes that run around like chicken with their head cut off you WONT have ANY fun if you keep just playing by the survivor rule book, because they, on the other hand, wont give a single thought about what YOUR fun may be.
And they SHOULDN'T, because it's a competitive assymetrical game where 2 team face eachoters and try to archive conflicting objectives.
"Just outplay them"
Yeah... you are definitely not red.

I'd say Thumbdrive and the Soda are equally as good, one reduce the number of hits while the other will let you get way more hits around corners, palets and windows in chase which not only increase the hit count but also help against regression.
The trick knifes are definitely mandatory tho, they will give you an insane amount of free hits even by just spamming randomly.

Is it majority of this game is young teens and just haven’t grown up or people just so filled with spite that they will take it out on anyone? I don’t understand why this game in particular is one of the worst when it comes it’s player base.
I just dont understand what it is about people like you who always make that kind of empty thread whining about a group made of very different people and pretending that SOMEHOW its unique to that group and not just something you'll find in ANY groups.

I've never struggled this much with a killer. He's fundamentally broken. How this ever got released is beyond me. His ranged power is only usable n situations where you can just M1 anyway. Zero incentive to go for longer ranged shots because of how many hits it takes and the decay. How galaxy brain is that? I know when I get 4 knives thrown at me IRL, if I don't get hit with a 5th knife soon after, I simply forget that someone hit me 4 knives.

This is PAINFULLY true. I often find myself using his power and wondering "######### am I doing? why dont I just smack him now?" and often the answer is "well I guess at least I'm building some Main Show stack" but I know its a lie, because I know Main Event is HOT GARBAGE and will more than likely proc at a moment where I can't use it anyway.
IF ONLY he was like plague and maxing a blade meter on a survivor didn't gave them a speed boost, you could at least chain it with a M1 (well, kinda... since he ALSO have a pretty long stance swap in AND out of the blade throw stance).

And this is why I often take Quick and quite, it let me jump in a locker super fast to dodge potential BBQ
