  • I, as a gay man myself, don't understand why people screaming about wanting a LGBT character.

I'm more than sick and tired of games that release a ######### up character that feel forced because they are trying to be inclusive and diverse.

Oh that's okay, I get the "I bet you're a guy" then I correct them and it goes right to "oh I bet your pussy stinks, wash that ######### out."

They use whatever they can at whoever their target audience is lol.

I don't know your exact situation, but guys really like to insult closed friends all the time lol.

I have played in swf with a few girls, and they all don't escape insults and profanities thrown their way from my friends (not me because I'm shy and usually don't speak much with girls around).

If you don't know them at all, then yeah they are abusive pos. But if you know them for some time, even a few days, then it is possible that they start looking at you as a friend. Guys are weird sometime even as a guy I don't understand them.

  • There are a lot of ladies in this game, I can confirm. I played in Asian region, specifically Malaysia & Taiwan area. Have a few discord groups and quite some number of girls on it. Some of them still actively playing and so good at the game.

  • What make it different though? He can still stand in front of the hooked person, looking around for saviours. If he confirmed the saviour not faking a save, he charges up and boom, still down both of them.

  • Killer:

Survivor not lining up to let me hit and hook them. Not getting an ez 4k game.

    Survivor:

Killer not letting me BM them and butt dancing for them in front of the exit gate.

Killer not giving me hatch when they clearly using op add on and bring Mori, in general being a sweaty try hard wanting to kill everyone.

    Not giving me ez escape.

  • You complaint about disappointed with PTB? Well, let me open up a thread to complaint about your complaint on the disappointment towards PTB.

Joke aside, it bound to happen that majority of complaint will be just whiny pointless noise. From the look of it, it is not even that serious of a problem like ruin change few weeks back .

  • You said the survivor add-ons are not impactful, unlike the killer add-ons which are game changing.

Try another perspective, you can go into the game without item as a survivor and still do just fine (because it is not impactful like you said), but killers are add-on dependence, meaning killers already spend a few thousands BP just to have a shot to change the tide in their favor. Furthermore, survivor can plunder to get item from chest, which is another compensation for lower BP.

All in all, I'm indifferent about this change as I don't really care about item and add-on, I can do just fine without them. I just disagree that killers always get higher BP as the mean to earn BP for survivors is there, it is the question of whether the survivor make use of them. The Dev already listen to survivor and adjusted the scoring events a few times and it just seems that it is always not enough.

  • At this stage of the game, no one really feel scare or intimidated by killer anymore, so why not?

  • Company should always focus on themselves to improve, self reflect on what they are doing right and wrong. "At least they are not XXX" is a very dangerous way to looking at things. It make you feel you are doing fine because there are others that are way worst than you while the reality is not.

It is not a perfect analogy but imagine you get a 35 on math test, will you go "ok, Benjamin is getting a 5 on the same test, I'm doing fine, at least I'm not Benjamin" or "oh god! I fail my math test, I better find out what's wrong and improve my score"?

  • Daddy Myers please!!! I'm so turned on by your gaze staring into my soul

  • I would say I don't want pennywise just to piss off the crowd that want him.

  • Then why bother come here posting all these video if you already make up your mind that they are hacker? It seems like you just want people nod and agree with you and dismiss everyone that tells you otherwise.

  • Whoever said the new ruin is useless and now have shorter games are wrong. Haven't you see all the "R1 killer main" suddenly come out of the woodland claiming that they never needed ruin to consistently getting 4k every game?

  • I like the tense chases with her. You have to constantly thinking on your feet where to go, where to hide, how to juke, line of sight, pallet? Window? Jungle gym? The feeling getting chase by nurse is vastly different compared to other killer and I like it because of that.

I can't remember how long I last meet a nurse, but I do remember the last time I meet a nurse, I forget how to juke her anymore due to not playing against her for so long.

  • I currently have 3 games on my hand that require long term commitment in building up the characters. Tbh, I'm experiencing burn out in 2/3 of the games (DBD being one of the two) but I just couldn't put them down as I spend so much money and time building everything.

I loathe many aspects of both games and seriously hope Dev could come to their senses and wipe themselves into shape, get up and fix ######### before it is too late. But the reality is, they are out to make money, it is a business not charity.

I have the same view for both games I'm burning out, I will play for free until the day it cease operation, or it become so insufferable that I finally put it down. I would be feeling so relieved and free as I no longer get bound by both games.

  • I remembered reading him justifying the change by comparing it to Devour Hope and said something like "Devour don't proc every game, but when it proc the panic of survivor trying to find the totem is unreal".

How many trial do you see Devour proc? How many trial do Devour get to 5 stacks? When do survivor know there is a Devour hex totem in the field and compare it to PTB ruin.

  • Because survivor find it frustrating to go against high rank killer

  • Hitting skill check is not difficult, just depends on my feel and focus that day. Some day I can hit every single skill checks even the 4 o'clock one, some day I can't hit sh*t to save my life.

On the off day I found ruin annoying, but I never once goes "ohemmgee, Dev effing nerf this abomination of fricking perk". The patch note is really telling what is the direction they try to bring DBD, they try to gear it towards new survivor players.

  • Guys, stop arguing with the Dev as you are all emotionally driven to say all these things and Dev have out right said that they will ignore all the emotional driven post.

Feeling stressed or burned out? Why not try out Warframe? The community is chill, the veterans are helpful. There are a ton of things to do if you don't mind to farm them or you have the option to pay for them. It is a bit intimidating for new player because there are so many things you can customise, but if you take your time to figure it out or just get a veteran to advise you, you will get the hang of it in no time. The most important thing is Warframe is free to play, no entry fee needed.

  • I have no problem with whoever movie killer making it into the game. For lore wise, if there is a will, there is a way.

That being said, sometime people just overbearing with the killer they want and it become kind of annoying at time. Like, we *know* you want pennywise, Jason, jeepers creepers, Chucky, pinhead, candy man etc in the game, we *all* know it. Give it a rest, Dev heard you loud and clear, and they will work it out the licence if possible, no use constantly bring up the same topic over and over again.

I think the peak of this kind of discussion appears back when ghostface and demo were released, but people do move on and we are getting less discussion about pennywise now.

Naaah probs never again. Rewards felt very lackluster (I didn't even notice whenever I got something new from ranking up) and personally I don't like that everyone gets the same rewards.

I know it's never gonna happen (maybe) but I would much prefer the lootbox approach with charms, otherwise everyone has the same charms and they lose all value to me.

    1) there still will be limited pattern of charms you can get as it required artists to draw them unless they do procedural generated charms. But then again, why so special about that?

    2) Not sure have you play mobiles games with gatcha system. Lootbox, in my eyes, is just a system that try to trick people into spending arbitrary amount of money to may or may not get something you want, kind of like gamble at time. I, for one do not like it very much as I am currently playing one such game and do tire of other people drawing the rare card in the first 10 draws and sometime even multiple, but I have to spend so much money just to get 1 rare card.

Really the only thing needed to be changed on gens is the time it takes for a killer to break it. Either the survivors need to have equal time to restart it or a killer just barely needs to tap it. In a game of micromanaging time this is a big issue.

Being able to do this mid chase is a huge issue.

Agree. I mainly play survivor and countless times I tap the gen mid chase to stop regression. Killer have no choice but to kick it again instead of chase me right away because the gen is 90% completed and pull away from the killer just like that.

Another idea I have is get rid of the gen kicking animation and killer can M1 the gen to make it regress. Killer can make use of the lunge range to kick gen and make it faster and easier, I rarely play killer and it happened that I always a hair too far away from gen to start the kick animation and I don't understand why you have to hold spacebar all the way through the kick animation but not when you kick pallet (I know I have to git gud). If there is survivor on the gen, auto-aim always prioritied the survivor, although it open up the possibility of auto-aim screwup and hit the gen anyway.

They teach pinyin in school but no paper work or city signs use it outside of a few cities. Many of my Chinese coworkers have forgotten how to read pinyin. One was trying to teach me pinyin and a argument broke out because no one could agree if each was right. You basically learn it to pronounce stuff and read but after awhile people just seem to forget it outside of sounds.

In fact I had to fill out a government form and the Chinese natives didn't know this character and we had to go to a foreign teacher to read the pinyin for them once we found it

None of my hk friends can read pinyin. All of them call it nonsense/gibberish, but I've never been to hk. They can kind of speak Mandarin but can't read pinyin at all.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/934078#Comment_934078

Sure that Pinyin won't be used in road sign and paperwork as its purpose is to let you know how to pronounce things as you mentioned above. The equivalent would be phonetic alphabet, you won't be expecting phonetic alphabet to appear on road sign.

I disagree on Pinyin bring pointless as it can be used as an input method, just not popular in China and Hong Kong. But I agree on it is pointless if you as a foreigner that is learning to understand Chinese because it just won't.

  • DBD is the only PvP game I played so I couldn't really have an accurate assessment on the matchmaking. That being said, the matchmaking system seems so messy that I just couldn't understand what's going on.

In the 1 and a half years of me playing DBD, there were so many versione of matchmaking implemented and somehow they still cannot get it right.

What happened to the matchmaking system that matching the killer and survivors based on the highest rank member? I remember it was implemented back in October and causing some uproar from people that "just wanted to play with their noob friends" and then it was silent and now it seems like going back to bullying simulator of the olden days.

I live in China but don't speak it, yet.

There's a high chance the sk and jp players speak English. Every time I visit either country I never have had issues with English. It's included in every school curriculum since the 90s in both.

China not so much;which is why I'm here.

Also if you have win8 or above you can install any language keyboard for free with the Microsoft ime. This'll let you send the characters without them being boxes.

Also pinyin is pointless to use. Many Chinese don't know pinyin because it's not used much here, if at all in most cities.

I dunno about Korean latin equiv but I've never seen it in Korea.

    Romaji is common.

Google translate provides the latin equiv

Where exactly you live in China? From what I gather, China been using Pinyin (and simplified Chinese) in their syllabus in school for a very long time now. If you encounter someone typing in Pinyin in the chat, you can almost be sure that they are Chinese from either China or Malaysia. This is the first time I heard that China don't use Pinyin.

Taiwan is the one that don't use Pinyin and instead they used zhuyin (and traditional Chinese), not sure about Hong Kong though.

  • I pray to the real god flamingkitty to condemn and burn, all the nurse main that only want to kill people, in hell

  • The end doesn't justify the means (hope I use this phase correctly).

One can look at the stats and goes "that's it, the stat say that killer get 3K therefore the game is favouring killer". The problem is that the stat is just that, red rank kill got 3k. It doesn't account for survivor suicide on first hook just to spite the killer, doesn't like the map/killer or anything that might not accurately reflect the real situation. Like someone mentioned earlier, there are many players aim to burn through the time and would suicide on hook just to get into next game faster. The new matchmaking that matches the killer based on highest rank of survivor also do not help at all. All these factoring into the stats, it will certainly lead to an inaccurate portrayal of the whole picture, which is exactly why peanits ask us to not draw any conclusion from the stats.

  • Sometimes I wonder what is the point of releasing the stats. If I am given a stats, I would totally try to analyse and extract informations from it. It seems like to me the Dev is releasing stats because people complaints that Dev been too secretive and not transparent enough regarding in-game events, so they release stats just for the sake of it.

  • I do hope they will start adding it slowly. I don't expect them to release everything in one chapter, but maybe every chapter/mid chapter.

  • Even the wikipage you put up support my point. Oni samurai was a group of elite trope back in the day and were human. DBD Oni is the folklore Oni, is a mystical creature similar to ogre.

I'm not sure about his lore, but I would believed that this yamaoka ancestor was a samurai who just happened to become an Oni later down the line. The samurai sword is a throwback to his samurai day, and symbolises that he was started as a human with sword that become an Oni with club after soaking in enough blood.

  • I'm not familiar with Japanese culture, but the reason Oni don't look like samurai is because... It is not a samurai?

You see, samurai is human being and Oni is actually a mystical creature. Google Oni and you will see the design of DBD Oni is very close to the depiction of Oni in Japanese culture.

Dude as i said before i can have 8 hooks which mean nothing if i never get 3rd and final deathhook. I never said you dont have to work for it. I added you 6 hooks for it to activate so it not cheap way to win. You can improve my idea if you feel like its not that good.

The requirement is to get the third hook or you can defend your hook well enough to kill a survivor. If you don't fulfill the requirement then there is not twist and turn you can take to justify you deserved a kill. It is just like saying you study very hard so that I deserved that 20 more marks to pass the exam. No, you don't get 60 marks passing line, you don't pass the exam no matter how hard you work for it.

Stop justifying that you should artificially get a kill if the game goes by too quick.yiu just feeding into survivor's narrative of killer just want EZ kill.

  • There is a small group of people started on Freddy already. They claimed that Freddy can just spam snare around the loop brainlessly and get to you because of the slow down.

  • It is painful to me that no one mentioned painreliever. He might not be top notch coming to gameplay, but his voiceover... Ohgm god, it is so soothing

  • Following the logic of some members when last time the opposite happened, it should be because "survivor all want EZ game and EZ escape, always crying to the Dev that killer is too strong and want them nerf. So now that your wish is granted, good luck finding a survivor game because all the killers are tire of it and leaving this game. Cry baby survivor!"

  • The queue time for 20-16 is always bad after the patch where they safeguards depip under R15, I don't know what you guys been on about OP being unlucky. Survivors that are new to the game can queue with their friend and shoot pass grey rank in no time, leaving grey rank killer even less survivor to match up.

The queue time improve after you hit R16 and would be the best by the time you are in green or purple rank, and facing a lot of smurf survivors that can loop till daylight.

  • This year's withering blight is bad, I often forget there is an event going on and forget to put on petal into the games.

There is just nothing that scream Halloween, minimal changes on map, no splash screen, no intro no everything.

So many time I play the game normally until I see a pumpkin gen and goes "oh, right, Halloween event is going on now." Even the hook don't really have much going on unlike last year.

  • 1) From what I read here, a lot of the impossible challenge is actually doable, it just need the star in the sky somehow aligned perfectly. Joke aside, if the challenge is one-off then I have not much problem with it. The problem is the challenge will likely repeated from the next battle pass, it is hard enough to pull it off once, if you ask me to consistently recreate the scenario and complete it every single or other battle pass? Hell no.

    2) I believe the existence of the impossible challenges stem from the final rewards of getting all your AC back. Honestly, if I spend money to buy a DLC or sort, I wouldn't expect to get back the money I spent when I finish the DLC, Battle pass should be in the same category. I wouldn't expect to get back the AC if I somehow convinced to buy into the pass, I would spent the money, play some fun matches, complete all the challenge, get me some nice cosmetics and be happy with all the rewards I get. If I get the feeling that I couldn't finish the pass, then why bother?

  • I'm kinda torn on whether or not letting the last one go. I took pity when the last one try so hard to escape, but at the same time I don't want people to become entitled because "the last killer let me escape, why won't you? "

  • You shouldn't dodge my team of 3 toolboxes and a key, but f you and your omega blink/prayer bead/iridescent hatches/iridescent king/instant saw/tombstones and bring a Mori, I'm gonna DC the moment I know you use the red add-on.

You dodge lobby because you are weak and don't welcome challenge , but I DC because you use OP add-on and it is not fair. I DC to send out a message and teach you a lesson about using strong add-on, but you definitely a wimp for dodging my lobby.

  • @Science_Guy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/680669#Comment_680669

3-Man SWFs are the worst. I always try to dodge if I notice people in the lobby have each other in their friend's list. That's an easy "No thanks!"

I usually 2-3 man with my friends. The 3-man get a bad reputation as they will drop the random in a heartbeat and selfishly escape. What funny is that my team usually get murdered hard and the random is the only one escape, we always bring this one up as a running joke while playing. Even one of us vow to be selfish and won't go back to save the random, we still get killed and the random still escape alone.

On the topic, I risk my life to go down the basement of a proxi camp bulba and unhook a Claudette, give her borrowed time as well. The first thing she do when bulba came back to the basement is to rat me out while she run free.

  • Last time I was called a hacker by a GF on osmund. He can't stalk me because I always know where he is and constantly dispose him by wallhack, but not because black robe stand out in white background. Also he can't get me on a very safe pallet because I'm speed hacking, not because he refuses to break the safe pallet.

  • I find it quite strange that people keep complaining about lobby dodge and actively condemn killer saying they are coward that don't like being challenged. Meanwhile, there are so many threads and post about survivor not liking certain killer or them bringing OP add on and gonna DC or kill themself on hook if they happen to versing one, but they usually get overlooked or sometime even rooted on.

  • I feel like the new catchphrase now is un-fun. Every time you want something nerf, just say it is un-fun to play against. It started with legion being un-fun and get a nerf. So now Nurse? Un-fun. Spirit? Un-fun. Later it will be Billy being un-fun, key un-fun, hatch un-fun.

  • Negative Nancy gonna negative

    Auric cell

  • I don't think it is RNG.

It is more like if you do more survival daily in a row, they will purposely give you killer daily so that you will play killer for a few match at least.

I tried delete the killer daily and I almost always get back another killer daily. However if I complete one killer daily instead of deleting it, I might get a survivor daily.

  • It seems that a lot of the scenario you come up with are all in your head and won't be happening that often. Go by your standard, almost every single perk is encouraging either camping or tunnelling.

Head on will encourage tunnelling since you can get into a locker and simply stun the killer. So the killer better camp you and tunnel you to make sure they don't get head on.

Spine chill will make the killer camp you because you will know to hide before he reach you. To avoid wasting time looking for you, killer camp you and tunnel you so you can't hide with spine chill.

See the example above, similar to your concern but we all know both head on and spine chill won't get you camped and tunnelled.

Camper gonna camp and tunneller gonna tunnel. Nothing will encourage and discourage them to do what they do. It is more like a playstyle rather than something you encourage/discourage. Otherwise, camp and tunnel already gone for so long with all the punishment to emblem and what not.
