Not getting confused with Father Campbell's Chapel? It's in the same realm as Asylum. Asylum i haven't noticed issues with, FCC has had a density issue near shack for a long time

No, it really was the asylum. The pallets were absolutely crazy. Shame I didn't take screenshots but I'm talking… you know that iron garden-ish thing in front of the main building? Next to that, a meter away, a rock & obstacle with another pallet.

  • What a perfect reflection of the game's state. Can't even balance the website design.

Some people do put pets into devices even when there is warning sing they shouldnt do it or simular things its inevitable.

    What a stupid comparison.

  • Hate to be that guy, but isn't there a massive warning plastered on the screen before you start playing?

  • Just stop playing by made up rules and enjoy the game in your own way. Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do.

  • God, I sure don't hope so. Killer queue times are abysmal during 2v8, on both queues, and I'm not going to wait for 10 minutes every time to get a game.

  • @MrRetsej said:

It's a perk that, though very powerful, is only truly valuable when used with coordination and by players with solid macro knowledge of the game. Since most survivor players are casuals, solo queue and/or maybe duos, it doesn't make a lot of sense to bring it when there are easier to use perks that give immediate rewards with minimal to no effort (looking at you Windows and Vigil).

So that's the main reason you generally will never see it in low MMR games, and rarely see it in mid MMR games. However, as I understand it you do see it more frequently in the high MMR lobbies, but I can't confirm that because I'm fairly certain my MMR is not high enough to get put in those queues, and can only go by what I've seen top end streamers dealing with, and through second hand accounts.

I definitely am seeing it a lot more in games where Survivors are using most of their brains. Whether that's a high MMR game or not; who knows. Still isn't shown to the player. And when StB is used in those scenarios, I'm finding personally it's often used strategically and correctly, by survivors who know how to play around the extra hook state.

The exposed timer is absolutely negligible given its short window. Only time you'll get the instadown is if the player timed it bad, is bad, or simply wasn't paying attention.

Sure you can, but you're still facing tradeoffs that make the perk not as powerful as it seems at first.

You now have a survivor who is playing more cautiously, potentially using other perks to stay out of chase, instead of on a gen, meaning they're sacrificing gen time, except if they were on gens with gen perks they might have finished before the survivors ever got in the situation to need StB.

And that survivor still faces the possibility of being down quickly after they use it and are now at two hooks.

Could it be a net positive? Sure, absolutely, but there's still the downsides that come with it.

It depends on a number of factors, but you can imagine the people running StB aren't the "scaredy cat" / "I can't chase" type survivors. Or, at least, I'm facing people with StB who are actually semi-competent. If a killer invests in 'future pressure' by focusing or downright tunneling someone out of the game, a well-timed StB can turn a 'potential something' into nothing.

I'm having a hard time articulating my ideas today for some reason, so I'm sorry if this comes out as gibberish. You understand the gist of what I mean, I hope.

  • @crogers271 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/465622/surprised-i-don-039-t-see-stb-more-often

    Since hooking… doesn't do very much, turning a 0 | 1 | 2 | 0 into a 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 can be absolutely devastating.

Lots of perks look strong if you craft the right situation, but a perk's strength needs to be based on all situations.

In the above scenario, if the survivor with 2 hooks has StB, it's a dead perk slot, the 1 hook survivor has very few reasons to use it. And even if the StB survivor is at 0 hooks, if they use it and then are downed by the killer quickly, then they are right at 2 hooks as well. They have the advantage of starting a fresh hang time, which is valuable but not overwhelming.

So if you're able to use the perk in the ideal situation it is extremely strong, but DbD has a lot of perks like that - powerful, but situational, and lots of players prefer the perks that give them more consistent value.

That's why you change your playstyle according to what you run. It's very easy to coordinate if you're playing with other people; I don't think it's fair to say StB needs to be in the "ideal situation" to be strong.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    It's a matchmaking issue.

StB requires a level of competency from both the unhooker and the unhooked Survivor in order to maximise its value, which is something that you can't guarantee with random teammates. Being able to take a teammate from death hook should be (and can be) one of the strongest things in this game, but oftentimes solo queue teammates will completely waste the second chance by Self-Caring under hook and getting found and downed again 10 seconds later, or spending the rest of the match hiding, etc.

If the game consistently paired you with good teammates, StB would easily be a meta pick. But as it stands, taking a hook state for Survivors of dubious skill level is usually not worth it. I mostly reserve StB for use with my duo, or keep it in my back pocket for solo teammates who've taken the Killer on a good chase.

Very strong in SWF, rather lackluster when playing solo. Many such cases.

Right now it seems that portraits for purchased cosmetics are more likely to happen. I would prefer that personally.

At the risk of sounding greedy, I'd really love both a 'purchased portrait' and a 'prestige portrait' for the licensed characters.

  • After playing it some more, this map really does feel absolutely enormous. Something needs to be done to help killers like Trickster, without any catch-up potential, to actually catch up. Feels like a hiking simulator.

  • Had the same issue. 2 weeks ago, guy telling me to off myself. Yesterday, n-words spammed in the chat plus a cheater match. Nothing's done.

The map is below average in size. Obviously "cutting it in half" would be a stupid idea, do you even realize how small it would be?

Sometimes people just dont realize how big or small maps actually are. You cannot just say "Map is too big", when it is below average in size, lol.

This honestly surprises me. What is the actual size of the map? It feels absolutely enormous, especially as 110.

  • I recently had a full Steve Ahoy game. Messed around a bit, then at some point tried to swing at one of them as they plot-twisted and my mori popped. Never felt more guilty.

  • Without going into right or wrong, I think a break would be good. Don't keep playing something that makes you feel this exhausted, games are supposed to be enjoyed. Take it from someone who has also felt frustrated with the game's state.

  • Probably the removal of the gamemode, given the complete destruction of 1v4 while it's active.

  • BHVR doesn't exactly invoke much goodwill given wording in past surveys, patch notes, streams. Maybe it's a language barrier, given the francophone location of the company. Keep an open mind, I guess.

  • These surveys are always handled and worded terribly, so I don't expect this one to much different. That said, though, would you make a survey about survivors 'survivor-only'? Wouldn't really make a lot of sense.

  • I think an option to turn it off couldn't hurt. Players will either see the point of aim dressing and turn it back on (I still have no idea what it's supposed to do) or choose to leave it off.

The saddest part is that my complaint is about cosmetics. A very significant one. And it's still being ignored. 🤣

It's pitiful even something that's part of the (main) revenue stream of the game doesn't even get fixed. Does stand out how quickly they fix other cosmetic glitches (i.e. mixing linked cosmetics or gaining temporary access to cosmetics), though.

  • @UnicornMedal said:

I feel like they're hesitant to do very much with Nurse, even bug fixes, because she is the eternal face of the "the strongest Killer is free, therefore the game is patently not P2W" motto. Anything could shift that balance.

It's very comforting to know that after reporting a bug 7 months ago on the forum and it going unaddressed, I posted it to BetaHub and it's gone another month unaddressed and is buried under 400 new bug reports. System seems to be working great. 😎

This is really it - creating another platform only to ignore these issues there as well. BHVR's asking for a lot of goodwill from their playerbase by having them write lengthy bug reports, only for them to do nothing about long-standing bugs (Deathslinger, Nurse). By all means, though, keep buying our cosmetics. Can't say I'm too happy about having to create another account just to be able to report these bugs, either.

  • People can't empathize with others anymore. Neither Survivor #1 nor #2 were my pick, but people somehow interpret different choices to be the 'wrong' and 'unjustifiable' ones. Shows the nature of the loudest and most online part of our community.

  • @Junylar said:

After getting my hit denied by the rubber banding for 1000th time I just gave up and switched to Blight. I guess it's their way of silently nerfing the Nurse without the community backlash.

No killer should be bug ridden lol regardless if people like them or not.

Thank you, I'll see if I can maybe re-post the original author's bug report there. It's incredibly sad to see a killer, who has been in the game for this long, be in such a state. Many such cases.

Hey, off-topic, but enjoy Vecna! One more minute!!

No need to bump your own post, the sarcasm was noted.

What a way to create goodwill with your community by posting this comment underneath a post by a person clearly frustrated by the dismal state of anti-cheat. Echoing the sentiments above, if the company you work for would actually address this failing, posts like these wouldn't be made so often. Real witty.

  • @Abbzy said:

Only one that works is dog from houndmaster but she can be doged or if other survivor is near than the dog grab has no chance of success if that survivor frees the grabed one and go to exit line.

Many killers have them but its just to create panic but it doesnt do anything because usualy almost in all cases the killers cooldown either from attack or special ability is so long so that survivor will still escape and the ones that had the power to get you hooks in gate area were nerfed.

Panic only goes so far, until people consistently notice that it doesn't really matter whether you get hit by these powers or not (in the exit gates). I just find it strange - either have it where a Killer is able to pick up the Survivor if there are no body blockers, or just don't implement it at all.

  • It's been so long SM has been turned into tree food for Sheltered Woods. That's where they got all the pallets from!

I'll give you a summary what's wrong with Krasue after playing against her a few times.

    Too many mushrooms available

I would understand if there were more mushrooms pre-nerfs but right now I don't understand why there is now an abundance of it. I believe every time she transforms she spawns more mushrooms?

    She has no more pressure

Leech is completely removed when I'm hooked. I know the reason was because of tunneling just like they did with Wesker's infection except Wesker's infection isn't completely removed but is instead the infection is set at 1%, but I honestly think it's a bit silly when you have Plague existing. The adverse effect from this is that she lost all that pressure because now I don't need to find a mushroom to remove the leech infection. I think tier 2 leech infection is a non-existent mechanic. It's funny how 1 change can screw up her entire power as a whole.

Getting to tier 2 leech is nigh impossible

Not a single match in my games did anyone reach to tier 2 leech infection so why does it exist? Idk. Like I said, there are so many mushrooms and the glowing mushrooms reveals itself when I'm infected. The passive charge rate to get to leech 2 is also extremely slow.

Vaulting in head form is a waste of time

Again because of the nerfs she has a very tough time to use her floating head to loop me.

Infecting survivor in head form is unreliable

It takes 3!!! hits to make me infected. Why?

I think her leech auto aim got also reduced so it's harder to hit me now. That's what I believe because it was way, way easier to infect me before the nerfs.

She also can't break pallets in head form. Her head whip is worse than Nemesis because they need to be infected to injure you which you either have to transform back to human form and spit the survivor with leech or hit them 3 times with head form.

Again, this is from my survivor experience. I rarely play killer myself.

Thanks for the detailed response, bit confused about all the downvotes. People on this forum ironically dislike discussion.

  • @LordLazeris said:

The nerfs they gave her were overkill. Now she is at the top 6 lowest killer pickrate in the game. I am already beginning to miss her terror radius music.

Give me something else than the blight or ghoul in my games bhvr.

I think she's pretty fine as she is, what feels so bad about her to you?

  • Months later and we're still nowhere nearer to a fix. How long does it take to review this #########?

How am I supposed to know it's account-related? I thought it was a game bug, and reported it. It really just was P18L20 on Nemesis, or some sort of configuration.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4021369#Comment_4021369

The problem with that is that there's a space to enter whichever issue you have, and there's a couple of options that absolutely work for killer complaints.

If BHVR wants to ask about these 'killer-specific complaints', they'd first need to know what they are. Getting outraged over the fact that they're asking in an open format while the single most complained about thing over the past 9 years does show up pre-penned on the survey is basically just demanding that BHVR do a mind-reading before asking questions.

Additionally, BHVR has stats to go with the survey. If they're noticing a decline in survivor players, they're not going to ask why killers are leaving. Demanding a perfectly even survey might not even serve the goal. If you've got an injured right arm and the questionnaire has you go through triage for both the right and left arm, that's a waste.

Lastly, I said this in another topic as well, but it has to be said that killer issues are terribly poorly communicated because they only ever come up when survivors get any kind of attention.

Contrast this with how there's at least one new topic complaining about tunnelling every week. Survivor issues are well-known because they are frequently brought up and outlined, whereas killers very rarely complain about most issues outside of a vague handwave towards 'balance'.

The fact that these unspecified issues are not on the list have garnered more outrage in days than any of said issues have over the past two years.

    Forgot to tag you, sorry!

  • Forums decided to delete my draft :)

Thanks for your detailed response, I can't say I fully agree with all the points you're making but I'm glad we can at least have a polite discussion about this. My takeaway from all this:

I don't necessarily agree that including killer-specific complaints, some of which have been repeatedly echoed over the years (gen speeds, inherent power of SWF, even something more general like map balance) would constitute a "mind-reading competition". Arguing that survivors, at large, communicate their complaints more eloquently than Killers - well, I suppose one is entitled to their own opinion. I've seen evidence to the contrary, though I agree that tunnelling, slugging and camping are topics structurally brought up both here and on other forums. A similar thing could be said for gen speeds, SWF power discrepancy and map balance.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4021071#Comment_4021071

Not beating the 'I just don't want survivors to even be able to complain about tunnelling' allegations.

The argument is that, while survivor-specific complaints are included, there's a distinct lack of killer-specific complaints in the "uninstall survey" - to include the biggest complaints of both sides would only be fair, no? Saying that pointing this out constitutes someone "not wanting survivors to be able to complain about tunnelling" is just incredibly dishonest.

  • Are the devs going to fix this ######### bug finally or not? I keep getting rubberbanded

  • I really don't understand why you keep bothering with these posts, Reinami. Just reading the replies is making my brain hurt.

  • Final chase would be far more interesting. Render an entirely separate arena or something, and it becomes a game of skill rather than chance. Survivor has to run out the clock, Killer has to catch the survivor.

  • There have been so many posts about this topic and it always comes down to the same thing - Killers have the opportunity to hit survivors out, and should therefore just suck it up and enjoy the teabags. Now that BHVR has added a feature to quit after you've been downed & healed back up twice, what is the excuse now? Is that okay? Survivors in that scenario would actually have a bigger chance of getting something done than the Killer when the gates are opened.

  • Any PC players want to tell me if they've had this bug? I've been playing a lot of Freddy and haven't encountered this once. I'm on PC myself.

  • Thanks for tagging me, some of these bugs have been in the game for months, but now she's gone from frustrating at times to simply unplayable. I got a response from one of the devs (won't tag them here) - and yet, still no word on a fix!

  • BHVR doesn't really give a ######### once they've destroyed an addon / Killer. They might her at some point, hopefully within the next 3 years!

  • Can we PLEASE get this ######### fixed as soon as possible? Seems like the devs don't really give a ######### if Nurse is bugged or not.

If you believe you are doing the right thing, that's reason enough to do it.

Fair, but it's not exactly nice to feel like I'm being punched in the face every time I try to do something nice. I believe I'm, at the very least, not a bad person, but I'm no Robin Williams movie character.
