For the love of God please re work this map . It has no business being as big as it is with crazy amount of tiles, pallets, and giant confusing corn fields . I dont think I've ever had a good match on cowshed as Hag.

Imagine making a killer work for their meat. "All maps must have zero tiles"

  • @Veinslay said:

Survivors only wanna play against M1 killers they can run for 5 gens and teabag at the exit gates

Sounds like you're reliving your trauma. Get good so they can't run all 5 gens.

  • @Gamedozer7 said:

I have been playing alot of killer and only running upto 2 slowdowns but now between the prove thyself and maxed out tool boxes gens are going just as fast as they were pre patch. Looks like they cycle continues.

You can ask for the devs to roll back Dead Hard & Decisive Strike so survivors use those instead

Once dropped, they are there for the whole match until oni uses them. Oni gets about half his power from the hit that injures a survivor. I typically hit and run, and let survivors bleed all over the map as it leaves little power banks for me. The key to countering oni is avoid injury at all cost at start. Predrop pallets. Heal. And when he pops his power, it’s best to just hide.

Yeah, as soon as I know it's Oni I don't hesitate fleeing upon seeing or hearing his terror radius. Can't say the same for other solo q survivors, as you'll probably enjoy 😉

  • @RatbasterdJr said:

    Oni main here.

his power is activated by blood orbs dropped by injured survivors.

his power has a timer that drains slowly while not using abilities, drains a little faster while demon dashing, and drops a bit more when he downs a survivor.

oni will lose his power either once the power bar is empty, or he picks a survivor up (power bar stops there)

oni must continue to pick up blood orbs to rebuild power bar. Oni cannot be stunned out of his power.

    hopefully this answers your questions!

    Thanks for your response.

How long do blood orbs remain in the environment once dropped?

I had a match where it had been around 5 minutes since anyone had been injured & the Oni was constantly using his power to demon dash around the map during that time.

  • They clearly can't do both though because they are & it's a damn mess.

  • Pesky survivors. Don't they know they're not allowed to take items into trials?

  • New material is what tempts new players & brings back some players who gave up because the game is a mess. Then the numbers drop again & it's a vicious cycle.

Fix the game, then release new material (without breaking it) & see the magic of player retention.

So annoying how none of it adds up we all have our own weird glitches and bugs . Seems to be either too short of a range, or a crazy far one. I've been stuck with the shorter one for a bit now and for some reason chases aren't starting for me with some survivors

Are they running or trying to be immersed?

  • Nah, the opposite in fact. Getting hit round corners, after completing a vault & outside of the lunge range from where the hit begun.

I mostly certainly saw Prove Thyself a non insignificant amount of time. You can sub CoH for PT, because you don't need 4 CoHs.

You assume I'm in a SWF. Such a killer thing to do.

  • I'm not going out of my way & wasting my time to give Plague that amount of power. She can come sniff my starfish to get an M1

If you really believe that survivors weren't running prove thyselves or toolboxes before slowdown became killer meta, then you are really blinded by your own bias.

Killer has always been an uphill battle and trying to control gens and get hooks. Survivors have had many nerfs towards repairing gens (old toolboxes, old bnp, and now time to repair).

    Stop talking nonsense.

Nobody had space for Prove Thyself because they were running DS, BT, DH & COH.

  • I'd rather them focus on fixing the game instead of new material.

Easily (this may be biased from personal experience and liking) but Easily the best maps in the game are the ones containing badham preschool and the asylum, if you want to prove me wrong go ahead I'm open to some healthy debate

From what perspective? Most aesthetically pleasing? Best combination of tiles?

  • What about stretch res & max brightness?

  • @Rongursor said:

Being a main killer I have to say that the staggering amount of people using the prove thyself perk increased by 100%. Between 1 to 2 survivors use this perk in every match I've played. What perk do you use to counter that perk already mentioned? Discordance is the best option? Greetings to all of you!

Let me guess. It's the new DH or DS and needs nerfed?

I sometimes run the perk in solo queue to attempt to offset the gen slow down perks killers are running & score some quick BP. However, it's almost useless later in the game & is also useless or time consuming trying to find a gen with another survivor on to make use of it. The main benefit is spawning near a gen with another survivor & hoping we can pop one gen before everything goes south (i.e. the game ends at 3 gens).

In every game, these are killers have to do:

    find survs,

    stop gen rush,

    find bones,

    defense hex,

    clean plate and walls,

think about DH, plates, and windows while chasing,

at the same time, you can't miss your power.

I mean, all "have to do" in a game is pushing to killer, it's a 1v4 game, you can't push all things to the "1" side, that's so unfair, that's what makes the killer experience terrible. No matter there are so many plates on every map. You have to give some "have to do " things to survs. Now gen rush is still a simple thing, survs can always be relax and no worries, while killers are always keep thinking, never get relax, even there's only one left——you have to stop hatch for 4ks.

In my recent matches, survs dies not buz killers are strong, it's buz their own mistake. If they certain perks combo, survs are still OP, no matter there is new DH.

Imagine having to think to play a game. BHVR...why do you force killers to think? OMG!!

  • @Luckyz17 said:

As someone who solo plays Killer and Survivor a lot, and queues with maybe 1-2 friends from time to time. This game has turned into a "why bother playing survivor?" when killers are frequently tunneling and camping harder than ever before.

So I decided to jump onto a brand new killer, no perks, and see how it was. Huntress with nothing and all I did was throw axes. 3 dead, the last got the hatch as I was throwing axes at them across the map.

Game is pretty unbalanced and fairly buggy, overall just not having a good time.

Maybe its been my own experience with pallets but there are many times I pull a pallet down, stun a killer, and they warp through the pallet to my side all in one action. I thought maybe a lag spike happened, but it was pretty consistent against clown, ring, and doctor. Might be a bug?

Just my experience so far, but I can already see the forums flooded with bias killer mains who complain about a flashlight. =)

I had the pallet stun where the killer is forced on to the survivor side of the drop, I immediately (no hesitation) vaulted back & the killer insta grabbed me. They had no perks or add-ons to reduce the stun time.

This game is never going to be in a good spot until the devs make changes based on swf vs solo. Solo gen speed should have stayed the same and swf gen speed should have been increased like it is now based on the stack of the swf. But bhvr wants to ignore how much easier the game is for survivors to escape when they swf and how much worse the game is for killers when they go against swf.

"Why are we being punished for playing with friends?!? Because you have unlimited information that solos don't and can coordinate when solos can't maybe??? And your not being punished it's called rebelancing for the unfair advantage that you have over the killer and the solo survivors.

I play killer and solo survivor. Solo survivor is really bad right now, yes it was bad before but its now a complete dumpster. And when I play killer vs a good coordinated team/swf it doesn't even feel like gen speed was touched.

Two different survivor lobbies with different rule sets are required

  • That only works if it is done in masses. Good luck to whoever has the time coordinating it

PC running at 60 frames. This should be a none issue regardless. It's wild new indie companies can make shooters and BR's that have great working hitboxes. But BHVR finds a way to jank them up every other patch

I know it should be a none issue & their spaghetti code is a wreck. Try playing on console (current gen), it's even worse.

I'm being swung at 4 feet back and being hit without the weapon being anywhere near me. What is this

If everyone spawned together, anyone, especially Blight with Lethal Pursuer will be able to chase 4 people off gens at the start of the game every game. This, coupled with the increase in gen times would be horrendous.

How long does it take you to run to another generator whilst Blight focuses on another survivor?

  • @Biscuits said:

The problem with soloq is that it only takes one non-efficient survivor to lose to a killer at your MMR. So when the games are good they are good, but the second you get a stealther or someone doing a challenge it's hard not to notice.

Even with 4 equally good solo queue survivors it is far more miserable and difficult when the game is being balanced for killers to face skilled SWF.

They need two different lobbies for SWF and solo queue with slightly different rule sets.

  • @Maverick_74F said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3072628#Comment_3072628

Then survivor ques would be shorter but that's not the case tho

Not if the survivor numbers have dropped drastically & you're waiting to be matched with 3 survivors around the same MMR.

I hope they adjusted the random MMR in the update since they're now incentivising playing a particular role.

  • They don't care about solo queue.

  • Killer play gets buffed, survivor play gets nerfed.

A portion of survivors bugger off & decide to have fun elsewhere.

  • @JordanMalicious said:

I play a fair amount of PvP games online. Some have some pretty terrible matchmaking but I can honestly say with confidence that DBD has the most unbalanced, rage inducing, dog crap matchmaking of any game I've played. I am frequently matched against survivors who can all run every tile like its comp. I don't even think it's a SWF issue, it's legitimately a lot of solo Q people too I think. I've gone roughly 6 games where every chase I get into is a no win for me. The survivor knows every loop and every pallet/window location. Even if I break chase, the next survivor I find is equally as good as the last one. How tf can you expect killer players to stick around if these are the matches they are thrown into?!

Honestly BHVR. Fix your horrendous matchmaking and the game might be playable.

For the record, I am a fairly good killer. I'm not the best, but I could usually secure 2-3 kills per game. Now I either get 1 or none at all. I've had a few games where I don't even get a hook because the survivors are playing so optimal.

It's disheartening to want to enjoy this game but I'm literally stressed out not knowing if the survivors I'm against are going to act like they are a comp team who have to sweat every single chase.

This isn't the survivors fault either, I'm not saying that. Kudos to you if you play this game non stop because you want to be THAT good at it. I blame the terrible matchmaking for putting me against players I could never hope to beat.

And it's excruciating playing solo survivor. They've messed up two different sides & they don't care.

they tried that before and in extreme cases the que times were over 45mins. As things stand with people saying so many survivors are leaving with the upcoming patch it might funnily enough get better for solo que players due to less bad matchmaking. If survivor player do quit plaing that is.

I seriously doubt queue times would be anywhere near that long at the time, and server, I play. There's barely a 5 second wait as it is to find a lobby right now as survivor. It isn't going to jump to 45 minutes to find 3 others who aren't brand new to the game.

  • I'll happily wait for appropriately skilled survivors to be matched with.

Solo queue is hell & matchmaking is making it unbearable.

Has anything been changed ? Lately I m having extremely bad games tho. Pretty often I m having very bad teamates. Sorry for calling them bad, maybe some are pretty new tho. I have 4k hours and I m having problem to survive games tho. I shouldnt maybe use the word Matchmaking in title, because I feel like its on RNG.

When I m playing again Nurse- player who spent playing this game 8 800 hours, how is it possible that my teamate Bill has 36 hours.

Sometimes I m having like 1 good teamate and 2 teamates kind of sitting in lockers, unhooking teamates to killer face, crouching in corner of map, etc etc

I m little scared for coming patch with rework since I m playing Solo-Q and if I my lobbies will be same as these days then I m not sure if this game ll be playable Solo.

    I'm experiencing this too.

  • It seems to be back. For clarification, it was the main building basement - not killer shack.

  • Why would they re-work existing things which are wrong with the game when they can attempt to make money by focusing on new chapters? There's a reason the game is a mess.

  • I miss old Freddy, loved facing him whilst playing survivor.

I've had enough . I try not to get all mad about a bad game/couple of games but with the map layout, the maps I am getting , the shift in what survivors are doing, "aim assist", and other bugs that screw me out of an entire match . I've been absolutely destroyed as killer last 2 weeks and I'm not afraid to admit that . I'm old enough& smart enough to understand that when the maps are smaller, aren't ridiculously spread out and the game wants to play ball I'm great at this game . It's not fun to me to be screwed over yet again by ######### game mechanics . Until AI comes in winter I'm pretty much out not that I'll be missed tbh . Cheers all .

    What killer do you main?

  • Nurse & Blight with the super sweat package of perks. Solo queue is awesome...

  • Thank you kindly.

Mods, feel free to close this now 🙂

  • Unless you paid money exclusively for a particular perk that has now been remodelled beyond it's original description - you're urinating in to a hurricane.

  • @MilManson said:

    See ya.

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out, don't see why you need to announce this on a forum.

And the reason why Nurses are mostly running Starstruck is because of survivors at high MMR swarming the hook when you go to hook someone so it punishes survivors by doing it.

Especially when 3 people swarm a hook to body block you, as soon as that star struck hits them they start slamming generators and avoid terror radius.

If you was doing a gen you wouldn't get hit by starstruck or not lurking around trying to troll the killer with clicky flashlights.

Probably because it's a forum about the game and they're saying what they think is making it a bad experience.

You lot are original with the whole see ya, door way out jazz. Toxic.

  • @eloise said:

On pc you can see but on console you can't see anything, i don't have pictures but looking on YouTube, the player on pc can see until 30 meter bit on console you can see just until 5 meter because very dark, on pc you can easily change the contrast or something but it's really unfair on console to play against the dredge

You expect BHVR to address any performance/mechanic advantage for PC players over console?

    🤣

  • @Peanits said:

Pallet stuns are not instant. There's a small window after you've started to drop the pallet before the Killer gets stunned by it. If the Survivor is downed in that window, they will go down, but the pallet will still be dropped. This would be working as designed.

For hit validation, we're looking at when the stun happens vs. when the hit happens, not when the Survivor starts dropping the pallet.

Basically, a safety net for BHVR to hide their inability to process two separate pings around the 20-30ms mark.

They'll be telling you that getting downed a full second after leaving the trial sits in the same corridor.

"Actually leaving the trial is not instant. There's a small window where you haven't really left."

Which is kinda funny because the way the game is haemorrhaging players, our 20ms has us out of the door before Blight can launch a swing from Brazil & land it in Bhutan.

  • @agonizing said:

The timer starts to go down as soon as you spawn in. Not when you have control of your killer, it starts the timer before you even have the ability to move so you actually lose about 1.5-2 seconds on the timer.

Then to make it worse, half the time you spawn staring at the corner of the map!

If it is any consolation, if you run it on Blight then you can sometimes reach a last gen console survivor before they can reach a loop. They spawn in with a similar time delay as you mentioned behind PC players

  • @DistortedDream said:

So as someone who actively plays killer, I always get survivors complaining about getting camped, slugged, or tunneled. So here I am explaining why both of them are fair.

Firstly, camping, slugging, and tunnelling is a playstyle. Yes, they can be annoying playstyles, but so can gen-rushing and sabotaging, which are also playstyles. If survivors can gen rush and/or run annoying sabo builds, why can't killers slug, camp or tunnel?

Secondly, they are both necessary in some situations. Camping, slugging, and tunnelling at 1-2 gens is a must if you haven't sacrificed any survivors yet. Slugging slows down the game, which can be helpful on the killers end and eliminating at least one survivor out of the match is top priority at that point.

And thirdly, camping, slugging, and tunnelling is easily counterable. If a killer is camping, rush gens. If a killer is tunneling, rush gens and/or bring DS or other anti-tunnel perks/builds. If a killer is slugging, rush gens and go help your teammates up when you think they are close to being fully recovered.

Yes, they are annoying playstyles, but they are perfectly fine and fair. Survivors can have annoying playstyles, killers can have annoying playstyles and all of them are perfectly fine.

Fair? Probably not the best description. It is a terrible experience as a solo survivor & very boring to do as a killer. However, it is necessary to dominate as the latter.

It makes for a game which is not enjoyable. Great recipe for retaining new players right?

  • @emetSdidnothingwrong said:

People want to credit BHVR for the things they are doing right is all good and well but you gotta understand something about consumers: they remember negative experiences FAR more vividly and for far longer than they do good experiences, it's just a nature. So yes they are doing good things recently but at the end of the day they should of listened to people before their numbers were hurting, because now people are upset.

They balance everything around the solo survivor not getting ######### stomped constantly, but they do this at the expense of the average killer getting ######### stomped almost constantly, people quit killer and survivor ques go up, the killers who remain adapt and play in an extremely unfun way so now survivors quit; long ques and boring matches are a result of BHVR not fixing the killer experience. You can't constantly bash one side and ignore their complains then expect a few buffs to 2 dead killers will make them come back.

*I'm a killer and I'm not happy, i'll blame solo survivors*

    Get a grip

  • Is this the same reason why you mash the drop pallet button (when the prompt displays) a full second before you get downed & it doesn't drop the pallet?

  • I don't hate any skin on the game. Pretty cringe to say you do.

No need the have two categories (love and hate) for everything.

  • @kaneyboy said:

me and my friends have been button bashing to get those pallets dropped, seems to have gone really bad as of lately.

    Are you on console?

It is ridiculously bad at the moment (even on next gen) with hit validation at vaults (talking both feet on the ground with a couple of steps) & mashing the drop pallet button. It's gone back to being mostly luck in getting a pallet stun.

Get to a pallet, mash the button and there's a delay where it either won't drop and you get hit a second later or it drops and you get hit from a lunge super far away. I go play killer & try to do the same thing, boom...stunned.

Nothing to do with connection, this stuff shouldn't be occurring with 30ms ping.

  • @VirtuaTyKing said:

It's funny Survivors often go out of their way to make the game as unpleasant as possible. Yet when a killer does it its not alright. Lol

Its such fun getting looped, pallet stunned, flashlight stunned, body blocked, booned and gen rushed.

Survivors going out of their way to run away from you in a chase & do generators.

    How very dare they!!

That's only a small portion of the killer roster. The majority however will suffer.

"needed" is a bit too strong to say. I've played against many S+ tier killers without DH and still found some success.

DH is still an issue otherwise and needs to be looked at.

But you realise when the majority of killers just hard tunnel people out of the game, why it is such a commonly used perk.

If the game was balanced where killers didn't need to do that, it wouldn't be such a problem.
