...Their lore/origins are before they got taken by the Entity. NONE, save for Plague, speak IN GAME. They have been driven beyond their humanity, and no longer need too/can speak.

Dude, you're missing the point, I give up.

I don't think hexes should be lit. I think hexes should look like all other dull totems. This will then force survivors to search properly. This and totem spawn location improvements should help make the game better. I think the killer should be able to see the auras of the totems still though.

Agreed! I also suggest adding a skill check to the totem. If failed, progress resets and alerts the killer, but if passed the totem is destroyed and the killers position is revealed.

And it's your opinion that it would fit.

Ash is the only Survivor who speaks because, well, he's Ash. He never shuts up. And even he does not say anything during a match.

The game is supposed to be tense and scary. A Survivor yelling 'Eat my dust!' is goofy and silly. The Survivors are TERRIFIED of the Killers. They want to hide and stay silent.

And Plague is the only Killer who speaks, as far as I'm aware. The clown laughs. ..And no one else says a word. They make sounds; grunts, growls, chuckles, heavy breathing..None of them say coherent words.

Again; this would run the polar opposite to the atmosphere of the game. The Killers make noise because they don't care if they are seen; they are the HUNTER.

Survivors try to whimper and cry as quietly as possible to stay HIDDEN.

This is why they have mute emotes; so they can't be heard by the big thing that wants to put them on a meat hook.

I disagree with your argument about it ruining the atmosphere of the game, the cosmetics have already done that. DBD is not longer tense or scary and hasn't been for years.

The killers I mentioned DO speak in their lore / origins. They're not all 'feral beasts'.

I agree my examples are goofy, I was providing a variety of phrases to give an example of what could be done.

To be honest I prefer it when no one is speaking, fits the atmosphere of the game. I wouldn't mind voice lines when you stun the killer or saving/healing a team mate. Or maybe just voices in the lobby just like Ash. But being able to use Voice lines yourself would just lead to people spamming them therefore ruining the flow of the game

Yeah that's a fair point, you'd get toxic teammates on the odd occasion trying to give your position away.

I thought of the idea after watching this, it just cracks me up..

  • @Locker_Monster said:

This would not fit the game in any way.

The Survivors don't have voice lines because the last thing they want is for the Killer to hear them.

The Killer does not speak because, most of the time, they are basically feral beasts driven by their rage/need to kill & the Entity.

Of course it would fit, it's just your opinion you don't think it would.

Ash has voice lines along with other survivors already. If a survivor used a voice command whilst a killer was nearby and they heard, it would be their own fault for using it. Just because they're there doesn't mean they need to be used at all times.

50% of the killers do/can speak... Plague, Ghostface, Clown, Pig, Freddy, Doctor, Huntress, Spirit...

  • TEACHABLE PERKS!

I was such a noob and assumed it meant that character had learned the perk which meant you didn't need to equip it anymore, it became apart of their abilities. I started as Feng Min and once I unlocked Lithe I unequiped it and it took me days to work out I wasn't getting a speed boost anymore lol.

I dont like guitar hero. Thats why I play DBD and not that game. Id be okay with logic puzzles but i imagine others would feel as i do towards guitar hero.

Hex totems are high risk high reward. They're powerful but fragile(ish) and that's how they were designed and should remain.

Fair enough, the example of guitar hero was just to give you an idea of the mechanic, you wouldn't need to like Guitar Hero for it to work and be enjoyable in DBD. Another example of the mechanic is in God of War 3, skip to 1:35

    https://youtu.be/diPLjpVaHtk

I'm not saying they should do it exactly like this, but at least update it and add some more creative elements to it. It's current state is boring.

Logic puzzles I'm also all for! That would be sweet.

I agree Hex's are high risk / high reward, but adding a skill check to a 15 second totem isn't really hurting the survivors much, I just think they should have an extra layer of protection.

  • I main Freddy (and Ghostface) at Rank 1 and I love the dream pallets. I do believe they're pretty useful but wouldn't say they're OP as they only appear when you're in dream world. Providing you're aware of your surroundings whilst you're awake, you're usually fine.

That being said, I wouldn't be disappointed if they reduced the amount of Dream Pallets you start with.

  • Interested to hear others thoughts and improvements.

  • Freddy easy. He kills you in your SLEEP and can transform into anything killing you in as many brutal ways as he likes! He could turn into all the killers. You are literally screwed.

Cuz he's and unfished and buggy mess. His power is not reliable. Any power which is highly controlled by survivors is not reliable. Myers is the better, you can control his power better.

I disagree. His stealth ability alone makes him a strong killer if used correctly. I pull more survivors from gens than getting Marked Stabs. Marking survivors helps on occasions but overall it isn't even needed to play Ghostface and do well.

Myers in my opinion is worse as once you lose the element of surprise once he's passed level 1.

  • Why has no one said Ghostface? I main him at Rank 1 and get Ruthless / Merciless almost every game...

  • @Might_Oakk said:

You realise this usually isn't a swf group right?

There was no killers around r20 so the game mashed them together after they spent a long time in que.

You are bragging about killing a bunch of brand new players. Congrats.

The fact they have garbage perks is usually a good indicator...

Haha. I'm not bragging about killing new players, I'm pointing out how extremely unfair it is

  • Give me an hour, I'm going to set up a new YouTube account so I can start uploading my DBD videos.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

Why are you posting this? I could post literally hundreds of similar or better screenshots. Everyone in the forums could. Can you imagine what a useless place the forums would be if we did? Just useless garbage posts, one after another.

What a cretin you are. These forums are for the community to post and discuss anything related to DBD. If you don't like it, you can kindly remove yourself.

But, to answer your question as you're clearly to incompetent to understand the context of this post, the reason for posting this is to highlight the issue with matchmaking currently. I'm defending low rank survivors who get paired with high rank killers and vice versa.

Your post reflects poorly on your intelligence.

  • @Peanits said:

This is precisely why we haven't just done something simple like, "Increase generator times" (at least not since early 2016, when they were increased from 60 seconds to 80 seconds). Tightening the skill gap is also out of the question, though. That essentially means "make skill not matter as much", which is a really bad move for any game. Rather, you'd want to make sure that the skill level of both sides scale equally.

(It's a whole can of worms, not going to go into it, it would be a novel and a half.)

Just make each colour rank more difficult as you progress and also increase the amount of BPS you get.

For example, you could increase the gen repair speed for survivors and reduce the amount of hooks on a map for killers.

  • No offence, but I really doubt it was because you had survivor pudding.

You shouldn't have lost it either and yes, DCing is bannable.

  • Agreed. I want more game modes

  • @Mushwin said:

The thing is when i do swf, we are all over the place with ranks, but we HELP each other as best as we can do, use perks to sort of aid one another and work as a team.

Yeah, that's how it's supposed to be played. These guys just fell apart but did try assisting each other. Will post a link to the game once it's uploaded.

  • I don't do it to test but I'm a rank 1 killer and sometimes it gets boring playing so I will just pick a survivor at random and make them my target. I will tunnel and camp until they're dead. It's rare I actually get any abuse to be fair.

  • Literally the game after this that I just finished in under 5 minutes... have the gameplay if anyone's interested.

    20190828_165407.jpg

  • Rank rewards in general would be a nice to have, but this post is really just focused on having a Rank 1 reward as it's really the toughest achievement in the game or at least requires the most skill.

It would be so easy to include a rank 1 cosmetic, I'd be happy just to have a T-Shirt cosmetic with the Rank 1 Emblem on it.

  • Are there any good/popular PS4 DBD streamers? I main killer at Rank 1 so would be interested if I've played against any.

  • Disagree. I main Ghostface at Rank 1 and do well with him every game.

What perks do you use and what is your technique?

    20190827_134714.jpg

  • Thanks for the responses guys, do you reckon people who have hit rank 1 but are not rank 1 at the time they release the rank rewards will still get them?

  • I main Ghostface at Rank 1. I love sneaking up on survivors and grabbing them off gens. I also play Freddy and Spirit often.

  • Because survivors will always complain about any killer that requires them to use skill. Whiney little cry babies and nothing more. So fed up of this forum

  • I turn into slugs bunny... and just wait for the disconnects or infinite spins until they die.

It's a good question. We are currently looking at reorganizing and regrouping some sub-forums together. I am curious to see what you think as well.

I use General Discussion 90% of the time, but also use Recent Discussions from the menu. I mainly use the forum for updates and to discuss improvements.

  • Some advice for playing Spirit:

    - Wear headphones

    - Watch environment changes during phase chases, especially grass

    - Use phase-walking strategically.

    - Practice with her and be patient until winning mind games becomes natural to you. Anticipating where the survivors will go during chases is a big factor when playing Spirit.

    - Perks - Nurse's calling / Sloppy Butcher / Stridor / BBQ

  • This post is just a survivor main crying because he wants an easy win and has to spend time actually looking for a totem. Grow up and stop complaining.

*Patiently waits for a telling off by a Mod*

  • @Peanits said:

Now I'm not saying that we should free the nips, but the Hillbilly has always been showing a little bit of his torso. It's nothing new. When you're a big burly man or woman outcast by society, odds are your clothes are going to get a little torn up at some point.

For real though, we're not going out of our way to take shirts off. If it doesn't fit with the character, it won't happen.

You are turning this into fortnite with all the ridiculous cosmetics. Seems you're catering more to the younger audience (12 to 15 years).

  • Characters in DBD aren't really that expensive, if you haven't ever paid for a killer or survivor before I'd suggest just going for it. Ghostface is super fun to play if you like stealth killers.

  • Yep.

Had a game where a hooked survivors timer ran out, the animation began and 2 seconds after they got unhooked by a team mate.

  • @Gardenia said:

Literally Everytime something that's not about Survivors:

    "But survivors xyz..."

Like damn make a thread about that if you want I'm not here to argue you either comment to discuss, assent, disagree and then leave the thread with the topic at hand.

This community my God where did games of this gen go wrong?

I agree. This forum has a bunch of whiney cry babies. Mainly because the majority of people on this forum are aged between 14 & 20. They just need to grow up

  • BEER GOGGLES (Universal Perk)

    - Killers appear as Survivors.

    - Survivors appear as Killers.

  • Not taking into consideration how strong they are, the most enjoyable killers to play as in my opinion are:

    - The Plague (puking on survivors is so fun)

    - Ghost Face (Ultimate stealth & teabagging)

    - Freddy (love the dream pallets and mind games with his teleporting)

    - Spirit (mind games)

    - Billy (Speedy Gonzales, love sprinting all over the map)

  • I feel your pain. I've been playing DBD for so long the only thing that keeps me entertained is trying different builds. Never works in red ranks, just isn't enjoyable because as you said survivors just gen rush because their rank is more important that having fun.

Casual mode is definitely needed, Devs just won't do it because they know majority of the fan base will stop playing ranked.

Some advice for red ranks, don't aim for 4Ks and find a new objective / goal. I run BBQ & Chili and my only objective in red ranks is to hook all 4 survivors. I don't care about how many I sacrifice / how many escape etc... I just want all 4 on a hook and I'm happy. Playing this way gets you so much bloodpoints too as you're constantly moving around, chasing survivors and damaging gens.

  • @ClogWench said:

Cleaning up 2 survivors in endgame isn't particularly hard in any scenario with any killer or perks though. I'm just saying it's not really a Freddy-centric strategy

You're missing the point of this post, I'm asking if people have tried this build with Freddy, not if this build works with every other killer.

  • @Madjura said:

Surveillance is the only good perk in your build. NOED is meh. Blood Warden and Remember Me are bad. Freddy has no endgame synergy from his power, there isn't really a reason to run three endgame perks

That is entirely your opinion and I disagree with it completely. For me, this build is brilliant and has not let me down yet. Shows how much you know lol.

  • @ClogWench said:

This is a build that effectively works on any killer. Arguably Freddy benefits the least since he loses all power in endgame

I disagree. Most killers would need Ruin at purple / red ranks to slow the game down. Freddy doesn't as his dream channel ability with survellience covers this. As a result NOED is never cleansed because no one's searching for Ruin.

By time endgame begins, I've usually sacrificed 2 survivors already which makes it extremely difficult for the remaining survivors to open exit gates.

  • Complaint about people complaining lol.

  • @Andreyu44 said:

All those people saying "surviving is too easy" ....I can't take you seriously.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I didn't escape. It is easy. Stealth all the way - Lithe, Urban Evasion, Self-Care & Spine Chill. Winning formula everytime, at least for me it is.

  • @LordGlint said:

How often do you try mixing up your builds instead of going with the same thing over and over? I know for me, I can run myers several games in a row and just swap up his addons and perks for a different experience.

To be honest all the time, I often post on this forum asking for Class / Loadouts so I can save a variety of builds for quick access. I stopped going for 4Ks almost a year ago and set my own goals surrounding the builds I use as I love experimenting and had more fun this way, but I'm just not feeling it anymore which sucks. I feel I've just played this to the death.

I'm gunna take a couple months break and come back so it feels fresh again I think :)
