  • Teabagging at the exit gates can be terribly annoying and even worse when they got there through luck, or you being nice and letting them. There is a counter in the game, though.

    Myers tombstone piece.

Every now and then I like to run this and when I pop my EW3, I don't kill, I lunge for downs. When the gens are all done I try to have it at 99 again and if somebody is teabagging, instakill. Won't always work but they usually stay till you hit them if they are toxic, and they rarely see it coming. Very satisfying.

Slightly less satisfying but works on all killers, franklins. I have many screenshots of toolboxes, maps and flashlights left in my games because survivors wanted to get that last bit of bm in and I took their toy away as punishment.

  • I can shed light on this.

You were the obsession, right? There is an awful challenge in archives for killer, kill the obsession by any means, ten times. I've been running a green mori in my games to get it done because I don't use them elsewhere anyway.

Sucks, don't want to just remove people from the game but this is the challenge it gave us.

  • No surv I've met yet has done this. The ones that wiggle free will then go running, usually teabagging at the nearest pallet.

I hate this bug with a passion.

  • I don't get the argument that he shouldn't cancel out survivor perks. Some perks and abilities counter others in the game, it just happens, the only basis for the argument would be removing everything that did that.

OOO counters entire killers, like trapper.

    Nurse counters looping mechanics.

Unbreakable counters so many killer perks that encourage slugging, such as knock out.

Spawning next to a totem counters a full perk. It's obscene!

Calm spirit counters infectious fright, and half the Doctor's toolkit to some degree.

Iron will counters headsets and spirit.

Slugging counters DS. Unbreakable counters slugging.

There is counterplay in the game, that's just a small example from both sides. Just get over that argument because unless you remove all of it there is no basis for removing just the parts that you personally don't like.

  • Base idea is good, long mori animations mid game, bad.

Maybe a nice new animation and it sends the player to the nearest hook, only kills them on death hook. That would actually be great.

  • Who are you to tell people what their idea of fun should be? I get that you don't understand it, just doing gens isn't my idea of fun either but if that is what somebody likes to do, then more power to them.

I think it's incredibly obnoxious to judge how others choose to harmlessly spend their time based on your own preferences, I'm sure you do many things they wouldn't consider fun either.

  • There are lots of perks that completely negate add ons, they don't make them lose them but the game eats them after the match anyway, they aren't permanent. You can't get new ones for free from boxes as killer.

One of the mistakes people make in this game is directly comparing killer perks and add ons to survivor ones. It's not a fair comparison, they have different rules and needs. Killers have stronger tools, they generally need them to counter the 3 person deficit they have, because teamwork is better than any item in the game. Good comms is the best tracking perk, an observant survivor will save you hits and block for you.

Also, just pick your item back up. You have time!

  • This will always be a problem in a game like this. It's 4 vs 1, even in cases where it isn't swf a survivor feels they are entitled to something and they are surrounded by allies. With swf it gets worse, they will feed on each other and it's the killer who is ultimately to blame no matter what.

This seems to be just one toxic guy at least so just move on.

    On release:

3 blinks, slower than 4.6m/s but faster than survivors.

    After nerf:

2 blinks, slower than survivors. Need to use blinks to transverse maps.

    After "rework"

2 blinks, slower than survivors, need to wait 6 seconds to blink again. Need to use ?? to transverse maps?

6 seconds, can you try not twisting it please? It's 3 per charge, beginning as the stun hits. First blink should be almost immediately after stun, and second already charging. Just writing 6 seconds doesn't tell the tale in any way at all.

Apparently more consistent than Hag according to jordirex.

    Huntress mains rate her higher.

Hag mains rate her higher instead.

This is why tier lists are all subjective, we need a dbd tournament!

  • @blue4zion said:

Pig can slow down the game, has more than a basic M1 attack, and has stealth. I think she's in the right spot. @Rex_Huin

Having a lot of tools doesn't make them good.

The lunge has the loudest sound alert and a huge wind up. It's better than just having an m1 but mostly you'll m1.

Stealth is nice but the slowdown penalty for moving in it is huge and costs a lot of time.

Hats too inconsistent to slow the game down much at all, and can be outplayed by just 99%ing gens. Getting consistent downs slows the game much more. Useless at endgame.

Her tools are all weak, while she has more of them that most it isn't worth second tier. There's a much better stealth killer with one shot downs and full speed while stealthed.

  • Short answer is they don't.

Long answer is that while it might seem that way it's obvious from changes that happen at all levels that they are trying to make it less stifling against survivors at high ranks without making it even harder for them at low ranks. The nature of the game is that at rank 20, you get dumpstered as a fresh survivor. You don't know how to loop, where gens are, how to evade a killer and what perks to look for. As killer in those ranks just basic m1 play will get you consistent 4k's, gens take forever because new survivors can't do skill checks and will abandon a gen the moment they hear a heartbeat and hooking one will make the other three crouch in the grass wondering what to do.

At high ranks they know what to do, don't waste time and make chases last longer with looping. It's strong, it makes it hard as killer but it's difficult to nerf rank 1 survivors without nerfing rank 20s even worse so next time you want to throw shade at the devs try putting thought into how you think they would actually do that. I'm sure good suggestions would be appreciated.

    Question about the Portals..

When you Teleport to a new place, do you give off Terror Radius at the location at which you arrive? Because wouldn't the Survivors working on the Gen near there hear the terror radius pop up all of the sudden around a corner and make a run for it? Just wondering.

No, you don't have a tr when you use a portal and for a few seconds afterwards, or a red stain.

  • @Cardgrey said:

Err my thought is territorial imperative and make your choice.

    1 get a basement hook

    3 leave to chase others

4 put portal down when territorial imperative goes off

5 warp back missing there borrowed time and getting make your choice

6 catch at top of stairs

    7 profit

It's a very good thought, probably why it's a YouTube video already.

Trying to say you didn't already watch Otz do this? You really gonna try and credit yourself with this strat?

  • Okay, demolishing new players isn't very cool but neither is blaming him for doing it. He didn't make the matchmaking h system, he just played the game. Chill out guys.

Then explain all the fan films that is coming with the name "Friday The 13th"

Also... "There is nothing off the table" NOTHING, if they cant get Jason at all, they woundnt lie and say that

Yes, they would. They say nothing is off the table because if they say something is not happening right now then in two years time it happens people start with the nonsense. "But they said it wouldn't happen forehead!" Just look at the demogorgon thing, they said once they didn't want a non humanoid killer and idiots that don't know what humanoid means won't shut up now.

You're using inductive reasoning to take a comment with almost no bearing on Jason as some kind of evidence he will be in the game, inductive reasoning itself is flawed and your argument is more so. The devs were just covering their bases, that's it.

If you got too greedy for one more loop or didn't react quick enough to a mind game, yes it does.

And if you didn't but can't get to another pallet in time due to killer powers or just bad pallet placement it doesn't.

Dead hard is no more a crutch than sprint burst and balanced landing, it's just less automatic and more skill/mind game based.

  • @LadyPotato said:

I mean im not tryinf to hate on anything I love this game to the fullest but i feel like the killer being able to close the hatch is a bit to much honestly. Atleast before when killers would camp the hatch you had half a chance to open a door.

Because the alternative was an anti fun standoff where both killer and survivor stood looking at each other and the first to press a button lost. It could potentially go on for hours though normally just until one person decided the win mattered less than their time.

  • It's to make it so you can't get the better fast vault from any angle. It's not meant to feel good for you to medium vault, a fast vault is always preferable. Basically, the mechanic isn't for you

  • @Kenshin said:

i dont know why but having this demon thing now in dbd doesnt feel right. every single killer before is/was a human. the demogorgon is may be a humanoid but that doesnt make it right. he is out of place and doesnt belong in dbd imo. not as stand alone "monster" at least. so maybe add more things like him now to make it more believable. i would love to see a xenomorph next maybe.

I get what you're saying but in order to open the doors for werewolves, xenomorphs and other such inhuman creatures (I want a fishman) we have to start somewhere and the first one was always going to feel a little out of place. Give it time.

  • @ad19970 said:

People say gen speed is a balance problem, but with the current state the game's in, there is absolutely no need for gen speed to be nerfed or for objective time to be increased. It would just make the majority of killers absolutely broken, especially ones like Nurse or Spirit. Increasing the regression might be ok, since it doesn't affect gen time too much, but it might already be too much if we consider the 3 gen strat of killers.

Map reworks are on the way, that's the only real general balance change the game needs. Especially since it's mostly low tier killers that benefit from those reworks.

Thing about the 3 gen strat is it's survivors that put themselves in that position, so why do killers have to pay for it by these silly gen times? Survivors can spread out to start the game and leave gens further apart, it's part of the strategy they should use.

I watched a game earlier where 3 gens popped within two minutes of the game starting, through ruin. That's with one survivor being chased 15 seconds into the game. That shouldn't be possible really.

That sounds ridiculous. Are we sure this is intentional?

Sounds ridiculous because it isn't true, watched several people test it. Pgtw requires you to kick the gen, surge doesn't kick the gen.

  • Decisive strike.

A powerful perk that I feel I should run but when I do I always get away for at least 60 seconds. When I play killer everybody has it and the cooldown feels like 180 seconds.

No..I just dont appreciate someone making claims that everyone is below one individual in knowledge of the game..in fact I'd argue hes even behind

But nobody made that claim, that's the point. He said Tofu helped teach him something, that in no way implies that Tofu is the best, better than anybody else or even that what he learned was correct. That's all crap you've imagined it means but think about it, really. Where has anybody here said Tofu is the best?

Kindred trumps any stealth abilities. So it shouldn't be affected

It might currently but if you read the new statuses of oblivious and undetectable I am not so sure Kindred will affect it any more. Then again, it's only good against campers so those playing optimally don't need to worry about kindred anyway.

"Tofu opened my eyes"? Implying he sees this game better than you or anyone else..so yes you did say it..just not directly..you can have your opinion, as I am allowed to challange it with my own point of view

That doesn't imply that at all my guy, just that he did help this player realise something. Why you jumping down his throat, did Tofu teabag you or something?

  • I think Freddy is just in the sweet spot I'd want a killer to be in. He's strong, has pressure but has weaknesses. Ain't god tier but ain't Legion tier either.

  • Teammates are the thing aren't they? Unfortunately it's impossible to balance around human nature, and when they do stuff it's rough as a killer. We rely on them doing nothing and getting muddled because the alternative is a gen popping if a chase lasts more than 15 seconds.

What else got nerfed besides those two? Genuine question.

  • @Chaotic_Riddle said:

It's not out of the question. They stated that they only wanted humanoid Killers, but the Demo is...Clearly not a human, and while humanoid means, at least to the devs, LOOKS human-ish, then Pennywise could easily make it in, if the IT franchise was cool with Pennywise being in Dead By Daylight.

Humanoid means human shaped to everybody genius, not just the devs :p

  • Your belief doesn't make that remotely true I'm afraid.

Against a single survivor the killer has an advantage in most cases but there are 4, they can't be everywhere at once. Survivor perks tend to get nerfed when they offer something like a free hit which depending on the chase could negate a lot of the killers time, and since all gens can be done in 3 mins without pressure, taking that pressure is a huge deal.

  • Oh just stop, does nobody have patience anymore? The dev stream was literally a week ago, I'm sure we can wait a little longer to get our hands on it, we aren't children.

  • @Spicybarbecue said:

SWF needs removed from the game.

At a bare minimum it should be removed from ranked.

This is an unfair, imbalanced mechanic that should not exist in a ranked mode of a game like this.

Just because you want to run around bullying killers in your SWF group dosn't mean it's not OP

There's also the basic fact that this is a horror game where you are not suppossed to know whether your teammates will help you or leave you to die, SWF flies in the face of the entire concept of this game.

I, personally would be extremelly interested to see the survival stats on SWF groups, I can ptretty much guarentee you it's at least 90%

You can guarantee that huh? I have a feeling you'd be very, very surprised by the actual stats. Swf is super powerful and I would love a mode without it and a mode with it, with benefits to going against them but let's not get crazy here. Op is understating their power, you're overstating it.

  • I'm going to tell you right now I don't believe 'every single one of them were solo' not for a second. The odds of that are so very slim.

That being said I don't disagree that a good survivor is probably gonna be a pain solo or not. I do think you're massively understating the value of comms. Knowing somebody is in a chase is helpful, knowing not to go to hook too and you cannot convince me you don't tell each other if you see the totem, if God pallet is gone, where you're leading him, which gens are almost done, what tools you have left such as decisive or deliverance.

If by some miracle you aren't communicating that then you're just using comms wrong and a group that's good and doesn't is an absolute nightmare.

Swf can be overated, not all are great but some really are. It's a mixed bag.

I like the game on good days. I can deal with new players and I can own up to the fact that most of the time, I risk my own neck knowing I'm not great at looping. But I literally just played a match where two other survivors that were working together let me and my friend die even though we had actually tried to help them. That'a the main issue I have. Survivors are trying so hard to screw each other over these days that it takes the fun out of it.

A new one happened to me today, your comment reminded me of it. A meg trapped me in a corner while I did a totem, body blocking me in and just stayed there pointing at me until the killer came and found us then sprint bursted away.

Honestly I thought I'd seen it all but now survivors screw over other survivors just for kicks. Survivors shouldn't be able to body block you if you've spent at least 5 seconds trying to walk through them, not as a survivor.

  • Have you considered that those nerfs were warranted? And how have they buffed killers? Besides the Freddy rework killers are pretty much the same.

  • The dev hath spoken, and said exactly what everybody has been telling you my guy. Time to move on.

it's not always a choice, but I haven't ever seen survivors playing stealthy or trying to hide, they all just instantly go for the pallet loops XD

Lol stop blowing smoke mate, there is no way you're not playing against stealthy survivors, you just can't find em and thus you're left with the loppers.

  • @toxicmegg said:

what did u expect? no survivor perks could ever be useful because this game is killer sided.

Lol, yes, killers are stronger, that's why you only get one vs 4 survivors. Can you imagine if survivors had access to killer strength perks and tools?

What they have is strong enough already since they have the best perks of all 'voice comms III' and '4vs1 III'. And they don't even take a perk slot!

  • @BlueFang said:

If all else fails there is one option

Plead to the killer for mercy, if you see him coming and if you have the time, crouch and walk slowly to him. If you have an item drop it, the killer will see this and depending on the player will accept it. Especially if he's a TF2 player, they always accept the crouch

    Always

Anyway than you can turn the tables and lead him straight to the people who intentionally farmed you and show them how unfun it is to be farmed in turn. I'll always respect it because I know the pain of being farmed of having no chance to stop people that are supposed to be your team

This. This is the correct answer, gift us tribute then feed us the sinners that tried to damn thee, mortal.

No it wouldn't. Read my post again. There are already measurement taken to help new players with my idea. But nowadays people just read the title and start talking.

Oh I read your 'measurements'. Let's go over that shall we.

Basing effectiveness on rank doesn't work, rank reset buddy. Also if as a rank 15 I group with a rank 12, a rank 7 and a rank 1 which takes priority? We know how this game works, you know the answer here.

Basing off killer strength, who decides that? Besides Nurse and Spirit the rest of the cast is always being debated as to strength. If you believe Leatherface is strong do you get a better ruin when against him?

Listen, you want something to slow the game down, run ruin. Asking for it as base kit in any measure is insanity, might as well ask for survivors to hook themselves when you down them because hooking costs you time.

  • @immortalls96 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/650844#Comment_650844

But it's not like they dont have simple ways to improve him...

You say that but you don't know what they have to do in order to do that, what work goes into it and what balance considerations they have. With that in mind, they have priorities, those take precedence. We literally just got a complete rework of the weakest killer and are getting dedicated servers and a new dlc chapter in the next couple of weeks.

  • Just happened to me, lost a flashlight. Feels bad.

  • Because of showing off, they all want to look good so pulling off the crazy saves or looping forever is appealing. They also never get tempered because they have friends egging them on.

  • @justarandy said:

Since devs never talk about second objectives and I personally lost hope on that (cuz devs are just so focused on adding new DLCs noone needs atm or just simply can't because idk) I thought about adding ruin into basekit to counter genrush but with rules and requirements:

    - Ruin can't be destroyed

    - Ruin will deactivate after 3 hooks or/and 3 gens popping

    - The effect of ruin is depended on killer tier and survivor rank (Nurse for example will have a weaker version of ruin than wraith, rank 1 survivors will have to deal with a stronger version of ruin than rank 15 survivors, maybe rank 16-20 has no ruin)

    Thoughts?

No. It would punish new and inexperienced survivors who can't do a gen through ruin much, much more than it would punish SWF groups, and would make it nigh impossible to escape at low ranks. We need something that makes it tougher as a SWF or super experienced group and not on everybody by carpet bombing the situation.

  • @FiftyCalReaper said:

Prestige isn't supposed to give you any benefit. It was the same way for COD Modern Warfare 3. You lost all of your perks and guns and attachments and just got a prestige emblem next to your name.

That's why it's called Prestige. You do it quite literally for the prestige of it. As a bragging right, or a way of showing off you're experienced. That's it. It's not supposed to give you anything else and was never intended for that.

Would be valid if it didn't literally tell you that you get slightly better things on your bloodweb when you prestige. I wouldn't mind prestiging giving you nothing if it didn't explicitly state that it does.

  • The survivor viewpoint is one of the key features and this would punish attentive players which I don't think would be healthy for the game.

Now, a perk or power, perhaps just a status effect, that forces them into first person for a very short duration? That would be magnificent and fun but I think too jarring to actually be balanced.

  • Honestly, probably because he is far from the worst. Sure, he has very little pressure and his power has the most counterplay of any but he can stop a loop and make a survivor move from stronger tiles. Doesn't make him good but at least he isn't the Wraith or Legion you know?

  • Fixated, Dance with me, Distortion, Lightweight. Enjoy the meme of being able to leave scratch marks and barely having any.

Survivor main here with 1000 hours in survivor. I play a little killer here and there but I don't enjoy playing killer (or rather staying in the lobby for 10 minutes waiting for a match), so I mostly play survivor.

I do not find low level survivor ranks frustrating.

I actually enjoy playing at the yellow ranks. When I get de-ranked into the beginner ranks during a reset it's even better. Sure, you'll get a bunch of incompetents as teammates a lot, but there are also decent players.

More importantly, killers at these ranks aren't very good at the game yet. They are decent enough at the chase but their game sense isn't well-developed yet. So I can actually juke and stealth them pretty easy with my experience.

In fact my problem is I rank up too fast and get back to green in a few hours, because I do too well in the yellow ranks. Ah well, that's how it is. I don't derank on purpose so when I get back to green the fights start getting more intense, until I get back up to purple and red. I'm not a very good player so by the time I get to purple I'm having a hell of a time surviving.

Nah man I would agree, the low ranks of survivor are bad, real bad, but not once have I felt any kind of stress or salt it's just funny. I'm having a very good time with all of this, I enjoy watching the Claudettes peacefully crouching in their natural habitat while I die on my first hook, in all honestly it just makes me smile.

I made a clip to show just how my experience is going tonight, and I love it. It's my favourite clip, I was laughing the whole time.
