  • "Huntress is too hard to aim."

So in other words, you refuse to learn the killers you don't want to play and therefore think they are weak? The logic of killers is astounding. I can name so many Huntress players that absolutely stomp on survivors every day. Most the killers in this game require you to actually practice playing that killer.

I think the problem lies in the fact that you don't want to spend more time learning or getting better at these killers, therefore they are weak to you.

  • @dugman said:

Why are you assuming that if you die you are getting matched against better killers? If your MMR goes down then it will try and match you against lower MMR killers, not higher MMR ones.

It’s probably not the MMR that’s wrong, it’s that you’re getting put into first available slots because either you were in queue too long or someone left a lobby and it grabbed the next available player to fill the slot.

And I like the MMR system better than the old system, especially at rank reset week because in the old system it was total nonsense matches since everybody’s ranks went down.

Maybe because I've seen it happen hundreds of times? I get a team mate with 5 hours, I play the match out, see the killer has ruin/pop/corrupt, match is over for me, killer has 500-1000 hours. Meanwhile, my team mates with 10 hours each are sitting in bushes.

MMR is 100% what is wrong. Never got survivors with less than 10 hours on the old system even if I was sitting at rank 10. When rank reset shot everyone back to rank 10 no matter what is when matchmaking was at it's best.

  • MMR never worked in the first place.

Therefore, the next step of the developers is to make the survivor unattractive who has just been taken off the hook.

    1) Give him a rush for 60 seconds until he heals

    2) Cure him with a machine gun if the killer decided to chase him

    3) Give him additional immunity to 1 hit

    4) For every second of the chase after this survivor, auto repair of generators in 1%

    Fight against camping

After hanging the survivor on the hook, give the killer a buff where he can come up and kick the generator with 10% regression with a time of 20 seconds, but if the timer expires, then these 10% will turn into progress on all generators without further regression

This will be okay as a normal survivor and will be a big disadvantage for camping animals.

Nah, get rid of the sweaty perks like Dead Hard/Ruin, make matchmaking a more casual experience for both sides, and fix maps so I don't have to play on ormond, the game, or cowshed with 50 non-mindgameable pallets/windows as a Pig with no slowdown. Game was fun when it wasn't trying to take itself so seriously.

  • I used to play killer every night before SBMM. I didn't care that I got obliterated once every 10 matches because I knew it was a casual game and I would most likely win the next one anyway, but due to SBMM every survivor I've come across is so efficient at doing gens that not even slowdown perks can really save you unless you're playing a high mobile/strong killer like Nurse/Billy/Spirit/Blight. Survivors may not be very good at running, but they know how to slam gens and leave ASAP. I barely touch killer nowadays regardless of the time of day because I get non-stop sweaty survivors or efficient survivors as a Pig who doesn't run slowdown/meta perks. It is incredibly boring to play killer nowadays and while I still get bored/frustrated playing survivor, nowadays it is not nearly as unfun as killer is.

Only way to have fun as killer is to play the unfun/boring killers to go against. The best part of SBMM though is that it doesn't help solo survivors one bit because it still pairs you with survivor who are bad, brand new, or tons of trolls. Game is incredibly unfun for both sides and the only way to actually have any fun nowadays is to play in a SWF.

The game is not competitive so I still do not understand why SBMM exists and why DC penalties exist. Its supposed to be a fun, horror theme'd party game. I miss the days when I could play Pig and not want to just AFK in a corner or play in an unfun way. So until the devs change matchmaking to not have it be insanely stressful every single match, expect camping/tunneling to be seen a lot more often as it should.

I did glance at bullet points and they were all critiques of my gameplay. most of the stuff I glanced at, I already know, I had a bad match, it happens but as I said, critiquing my gameplay isn't the purpose of this thread.

Your gameplay directly ties in to the flashlights though, because flashlights are very easily counterable by things that are not hard to understand at all.

    1. Stare at a wall during pickup.
    2. Slug the survivor and go after the one doing the flashlight save OR simply scare them off. (You are faster than survivors so they can not catch up to you.) If all 4 survivors are there, then no one is on a gen and you can injure them all or start slugging.

Saying flashlights are OP is almost like saying Nurse/Spirit are weak killers when in reality, you are just not good at those killers. In this case, it seems you are just not good at countering flashlights. Doesn't mean they are OP, hell I don't think anything in this game is really OP. Unfun? Yes, there are tons of unfun things in this game like Dead Hard and Ruin.

I'll gladly take 4 flashlights over 4 medkits/toolboxes any match.

  • No, devs don't care about hackers so there is no point in trying. Just best to move on from the match.

Same thing goes for players who are griefing players (LEGIT bodyblocking and LEGIT harassment)

  • 20211105154630_1.jpg

I have no friends to brag to, so here I am. Currently have to spend 2.8 million BPs v.v

  • Still waiting on a fix for "Skill Based" match making. Still getting team mates who have less than 50 hours or refuse to sit on generators while I have over 7k hours. Sometime this decade would be nice.

  • Bro, every killer suffers from dead hard just in general. Its the 2nd most unfair perk in the game with ruin being on top lmao. Validated or not, its just a broken, unfair perk.

It's not about competitive, it's just that this game sucks without slow-down perk.

I have tried to switch to deadlock only and it's terrible. Sorry, I am not happy with 4 escapes everygame. 3, if you camp...

I never use more than 2 slow-down perks tho.

Its really not about me seeing 1 slowdown perk. Its more about me getting a killer who is clearly sweating every match out and me not getting any team mates to help with anything. I just got done playing against a Deathslinger with ruin(Idk what else he had), and he chased me for about a minute or two, and guess what my team mates were doing when I got down'd? Crouched next to the chase, waiting for me to go down so they could unhook me infront of the killer with BT.

This scenario happens FAR too often in solo Q where nobody but me is trying to do gens or escape. Its incredibly annoying and unfun.

  • If every match was the exact same, DBD would be boring if that answers your question. You'll have tons of other matches to get boldness points and have chases. This is just one match and shouldn't dictate every match. I rarely see killers who camp or tunnel and if they do, then it is what it is. I personally find it hilarious when a killer face camps me like this. Unless you're in a SWF with that person, I wouldn't doubt that they found it funny as well.

On top of that, its haddonfield. I don't really blame him for just wanting one kill.

  • @Mileena_Kahn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/291305/are-you-planning-to-stop-this

I’ve had many matches like that where the killer will face camp for no reason at the beginning. Don’t worry though the killer mains in these forums will tell you to sit on gens and get out like the 1st comment under your post and not caring about the person being camped but will be the same to complain about gen speeds, flashlights, tbagging, swf etc.

Not a killer main. I have 7.3k hours in this game and play both sides a ton. Literally just go sit on a gen and leave.

FYI, I only complain about Dead Hard/Ruin. Couldn't care less about anything else in this game.

  • No. Go sit on a gen instead of camping unhooks. Easiest thing to counter in this game.

  • Prove Thyself is fine. Just stack 4-gen slowdown on Nurse/Blight if it really bothers you that much. A good SWF doesn't need Prove Thyself or any perk to win your average match.

Perk is mostly used for points anyway.

  • If basement bubba is giving you and your friends a hard time, I got this one super neat trick for you that can help you win against competitive basement bubba.

Ahem... do the gens and leave.

  • If you don't want them to 99 the doors, open it yourself. Problem solved.

Any added "solution" would just cause survivors to open the door and leave to avoid BW or any other mishaps.

Also, no to your suggestion. BW should not be basekit.

  • Pop is boring, but not OP. If you're serious about winning matches, get good at looping and slam gens before the snowball effect.

What amazes me is the little amount of people complaining about Ruin when its the most used and crutchy perk in the game.

Killer can see the auras of the event gens. And hoover over them making it impossible to finish them. It makes no sense to bring a very rare found offering since you probably won't get anything in return.

I legit said this last night when I switched over to Killer. I saw the orange gens and thought, "Why is the Killer allowed to see specific event gens? All that does is make the jerks of the game want to defend those to prevent the points." This event has been pretty awful.

  • Unfortunately, she is easily the weakest in my book and I unfortunately main her. Good survivors that are actually sweating can just play safe(camp pallets, this is true for most killers) and slam gens and you'll be lucky to get one trap on if all the survivors play safe or are good at the game. Her dash attack is easily counterable by either camping the pallet, running away from the loop(run to the next loop if the Pig fakes it and you have one), or dead hard. Luckily, a lot of matches aren't like this plus most survivors don't know this or aren't playing that sweaty.

Which is why it really wouldn't hurt to let Pig have something more for an addon like this. It would make her gameplay a lot more fun.

  • The old emblem system, while not perfect, definitely made much more sense to measure someone's skill\decision making. Unfortunately, the system didn't work because it just tossed everyone with everyone.

So every game you play against hex totems they are never found? And ruin is in every match? That sounds more untrue than what I said because that is most certainly not true.

Also I think I just played against you on grim pantry, weren't you the person who dced on the first down of the match?

Its definitely not true, because most of my matches they last the entire game because my team mates are waiting to unhook me instead of doing the objective or looking for totems, they like to follow the player being chased around. And yup, I was having a bad day so I disconnected and went to play another game.

Legit tried playing 5 matches today, and the one match I do get with no ruin is against Blight which is not a fun killer to go against.

  • @Yords said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2555698#Comment_2555698

But it is inconsistent. In an asymmetrical game like dbd, there really is no place for elements like perks being RNG reliant.

You can never fully rely on your hex perks. While that is sort of the point, it is still way too inconsistent. A large majority of killer players actually never run them because they want perks that can work for them; lots of killer players don't use those perks at all and are more limited to a smaller selection of perks. That is not very fun.

Sure, you get good spots and bad spots. But it is just unreliable and borderline gimmicky.

I say totems should be reworked to be more consistent somehow.

"A large majority of killer players actually never run them." This is so incredibly untrue, it hurts. Literally the majority of my survivor matches are killers still running ruin/undying/tinkerer. Occasionally you don't see tinkerer, but ruin is in every single match I play on DBD. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Worst part is, these players usually play so terribly, but win thanks to ruin never being found.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

    When you... Increase your mmr?

Thats really weird, because I still escape plenty through hatch, do gens, run the killer for what should be 4-5 gens(its not because my team doesn't do them), and my MMR still gives me bad team mates

Do I increase my MMR by running DH/DS/BT every match? So far, it seems to be perk based matchmaking, not skill.

Or better yet, shouldn't I be getting killers who aren't stacking quad slowdown since my MMR is so low and instead going against baby killers? o.O

  • Sure, as soon as they get rid of Haddonfield, RPD, Lerys, The Game, and Midwich.

  • You say stuff like this yet killers like Pig and Clown exist. Nemesis can literally slap on ruin and the zombies will do the work for them without the killer needing to do anything skillful whatsoever.

  • Because Ruin is a massively lazy perk that requires zero effort. Just like Dead Hard is a massively lazy perk as well that gives survivors a free escape.

  • In before the, "You're just mad you can't bully survivors." Comment.

I agree with this though. SBMM has made playing killer insanely miserable for me. Non-stop sweat and every match is filled with the survivors insulting me at the end of the match regardless of the outcome.

On the survivor side, I play solo and only get killers who stack slowdown every match. I occasionally get better team mates, doesn't mean the matches are any fun though.

DBD is a party game and constantly having to sweat in a game like this makes me, at the very least, never want to play killer again. Not because I lose often, but because every post game chat is filled with the survivors insulting me. I'm sure the killers/team mates I get as solo survivor also insult me, but if I die before the match is over I am typically not there to see it.

  • My matches as both survivor and killer have been miserable thanks to MMR. I don't consider myself that good of a survivor, but every match is just ruin/undying paired with bad team mates. As Killer, I get 3-4 dead hard users per game and they're all SWF groups with horrific attitudes. I usually just play Pig with no slowdown, but this MMR might force me to actually start using slowdown just to get a 2k.

Or I will just have to stop playing the game because SBMM has made matches incredibly unfun.

  • Same here. Legit can't play solo survivor without getting an insanely sweaty killer with bad team mates. I can't play killer anymore because I put up against 4-man SWFs consistently all running the exact same builds. It is pretty ridiculous and unfun.

DBD isn't competitive so not sure why there is a ranking system outside of incoming new players anyway.

  • @JohnnyB87 said:

Sadly, a killer choosing one player to "farm" with is 100% bannable but no one reports it. If you're the "one" why complain? The game is about getting points, literally the only goal of the game.

We don't report it because reports don't do anything. I reported 4 matches during the 4th anniversary event where the survivors and killer was farming and the moment they noticed I didn't want to farm, I got BM'd, sandbagged, and farmed to hell and back, recorded videos of it, reported all these matches, and literally nothing happened to them. After awhile, I even made the videos public on these forums and got banned from the forums for "name shaming".

Reporting does absolutely nothing in this game even if you have evidence.

  • After playing this map and midwich back to back, I think I will start suiciding/disconnecting on both of these maps from now on. They are both incredibly unfun to play on. At least Lerys and Hawkins has stuff to use.

  • This seriously needs to be looked at. I don't understand why survivors have to sweat so hard for this event, but killers can just grab it and go afk. I play solo most of my matches and its impossible to do without heavy luck.

  • @traviszenryo said:

prove thyself gives you a stackable 15% increase to gen repair speed , you can literally pop a gen in 30 seconds , ive actually used it to pop a gen in 20. i want you to go get into a chase and hook a survivor and see how long it takes you from start to finish. im also a red rank killer/survivor i know how to do chases lol at high rank survivors will stack and pop a gen while you are in chase , if you leave a chase they wait till you start a new one. its how you pressure the killer and is super easy to do

That 15% only negates the penalty received when two or more survivors work on a generator together. Its a bad perk that survivors only use for more blood points considering how little points doing gens actually rewards you. Far more efficient to work on gens separately as opposed to together. Besides, you can literally stack 4 gen slowdown perks. Not sure why it isn't ok for survivors to have one Gen perk.

  • I'm sure everyone here will attack me for it, but I do not agree with the gen tapping thing. There are too many slowdown perks to justify any sort of change to generators at the moment. If there were only one or two gen slowdown perks in the game, I wouldn't mind if they did something a bit more to the survivor's objective that doesn't include gen tapping. Until you can no longer STACK slowdown perks, they really should not touch the objective at all.

And I play both survivor and killer so no, I'm not being biased about it.

  • Gunna be real, I'm on the same boat. New animations never grew on me, they just look so bad. Not the biggest of deals, but looking at survivors now looks weird.

People friction-burned their ######### hands to win in mario party minigames. That game is such a perfect example for "its just a party game, bro" being a stupid argument.

I mean... Super Smash Bros. is just another party game lmao. All these games are just party games made to not actually be balanced, but to be fun. Super Mario Party is also, hint hint, just a party game that is not "balanced." It is heavily RNG favored. People who constantly want zero gens to be completed are the same killers who get 360'd all match because they can't hit someone two feet in front of them or refuse to even attempt to use their power against the survivor to win matches because they don't want to learn. There are some God tier Billy and Huntress players that ######### all over survivor all day and they don't run slowdown. I know a bunch of them. I myself never run slowdown on Pig and still constantly get 4ks all day unless I get unlucky.

Its not a stupid arguement, DBD is legit just a party game. Take it seriously all you want, nobody is going to care by the end of the day and Nike aint gunna give you a paycheck for it.

  • @Marik13 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2270148#Comment_2270148

Something still needs to be done though. When you look at gen regression vs the speed at how fast they can be completed at base level, meaning no perks or add-ons, it's ridiculously unbalanced. 80 sec to finish a gen with just 1 person on it (quicker with two people) and it takes a good 5 minutes from a 99% gen to fully regress down to 0. That doesn't seem unbalanced to you at all? Nevermind that also you can have more than one of the gens being worked on at the same time.

To put it in to other numbers as we'll. In the first two minutes of the match survivors can have anywhere between 1-3 gens completed. That brings them anywhere from 20-60% person done with their objective. In the same amount of time, let's say a killer gets 1-3 hooks. That's 8-25% of their total objective completed, in the same time. All of this is not taking account perks and add-ons either. This is just base level using nothing but the environment. Again when you look at all the numbers, it looks really bad. This is why killers feel like 90% of them time they need to run slow down perks like Ruin+Undying, Pop, and Corrupt. If the numbers were still off by a smaller margin I'd have a different opinion. But with the numbers being so widely far apart, I can't say that this is really balanced.

Its a party game. If all you care about is winning against random players you'll never see again after one match, just stack slowdown perks like killers do regardless. BHVR could literally make a gen take 3 minutes to do instead of 80 seconds and killers would still stack slowdown perks.

And no, it doesn't seem balanced because its an asymmetrical PVP game lmao. It will NEVER be balanced, hence the reason it can never be competitive. The object of this game is to have fun and that is the sole thing that BHVR should be focused on with DBD. The game shouldn't be so unbalanced that one side just constantly dominates the other side every single match and thats it.

Killers want to add something like this, but then say Spirit and Nurse are perfectly fine.

  • You guys really don't understand just how impossible it would be to beat 3-gen setups if they added something like this, huh? Killers that should get 0 kills because they played so poorly could literally hold matches hostage even longer than usual if they add this kick regression thing and eventually will 4k and for what? One win out of a thousand matches? I rather keep this the party game it is and allow survivors who aren't in a SWF to still have a chance against a 3-gen rather than not have a chance.

Even without this regression thing, going against killers who sit on 3-gens all match are insanely boring and its even worse with overcharge. Gen speeds are perfectly fine and kicking them currently is perfectly fine. If you're having issues with gen speed, just stack 4-gen slowdown perks like Killers do REGARDLESS of what BHVR does to the game. Game is already painfully easy for Killers nowadays.

  • This happens VERY often btw.

Actually as a rank 20 survivor I am getting rank 20 killers so yeah it is the killer matchmaking that is the problem. Update...yeah I am having a blast my teammates survive I get killed to prevent the pip up as much as possible even gave key and lead them to the hatch...this is fun 3 man escapes are glorious🤣

    Untitled Image

I'm normally rank 1 btw, but rank reset bug sent me back to rank 10 and I have a full time job so haven't been playing much. Survivors deal with it all the time so it is not just on the killer side.

  • Good survivors only SWF nowadays because its the only way to have a chance at winning. Playing solo survivor against Killers who stack 4 gen slowdown perks every match isn't exactly a fun time.

  • @Bastius123 said:

    It really is that simple.

The thing you seem to be misunderstanding is that this doesn't stop somebody from rendering themselves useless to the team. As others have pointed out, if you want to be dead then you can be dead. The difference is that in this way it's just slowing things down for literally everybody involved. If you're down a team member, at least you know it. As it is now, people are just taking up space and are an active detriment to their team.

You've not stopped the fourth from ruining it for the rest. If anything, you've empowered them to do so.

I haven't played DBD in 3 days, but if I'm clearly trying to suicide out the match and someone saves me, I run around the entire map throwing every pallet I can and then find the Killer and still suicide out kek.

Its a party game, if I aint having fun in a match I am gonerino.

  • This deserves to be bumped up because I had the same problem in an earlier match and its really annoying. Can they just remove needing to press anything all together and simply add a "let go" button if you need to suicide out of a match? I died before a team mate could save me as I was about to die because the skill check gets smaller and smaller and I missed the last skill check on accident. Unless they want to add more time to second phase, this seriously needs to be remedied.

  • @Power_Guy said:

No. You bailing ruins the game for 3 Survivors and the Killer. I like the change, because it slows down your attempts to ragequit.

Not a rage quit. I looked at the odds of us winning and decided we already lost so I wanted to move on. Can nobody here have a civil discussion without acting like its some sort of "rage" or "childish" thing? The only thing me staying in the match will do is afk or sandbag my team mates because doing gens is not an option at that point.

  • Everyone here is either a killer main or a potato survivor that refuses to do the objective I'm assuming.

  • Its not a good perk. Its a waste of a slot. Does literally nothing for you in a match.
