I played this game for a long time, got to r1 before the braindead rank rework, so I guess I'm a vet.
It's not appealing anymore. This largely isn't a skill based game, and recent changes have continued to demonstrate (as if it wasn't obvious before) that the dev team is 80-90% out of touch with the community. Honestly a terrible team, and I just don't really wanna support that actively anymore.
-
You are objectively a bad survivor of you think DS and pH aren't counterable. DS you throw early or loop high walls and generally take advantage of his worse move speed, and pH, while certainly stronger than the former, can be countered by taking that you'll go to a tight area or loop, then going another way to bait his power and gain distance.
Also, holding W.
-
This post is nonsense.
Ph can evade bt/ds, final judgement is very convenient, his force wave is good in tight areas and vaults, and just for bait. The threat of the trail plays mind games with people too.
Who do we have for licensed killers? Bubba, Freddy, Ghostface, Myers, Demo, Pig, and PH? If I didn't miss one, best to worst is Freddy, Ghostface, Myers/Ph, Demo, Pig, Bubba.

You don't prove someone wrong, that's not how logic works. You provide evidence to support your position.
Anyway, Spirit was already nerfed, and with rampant audio bugs, she's harder to play now for sure.
Good survivors can still beat a good Huntress or William, especially after the Billy nerf. Nurse is Nurse.
Besides, as has been already pointed out, survivor is the real easy mode. A 4m swf with coms who is decent can beat a r1 spirit; I know anecdotal evidence isn't compelling, but I've done it dozens of times.

I can't understand why killer main's complain about state of the game its so easy to get 3/4 kills there are people with insane win streak's on killer's like 100+ ######### wins in a row show one streamer or anyone that escaped 100 times without dying once its impossible solo q survivor is much harder than playing killer and Billi nerf made him A tier killer instead of S tier I don't think those people that cry all over reddit/forum played ptb i hope the devs won't get pressured and the nerf goes live.
Good killers can easily 3 or 4k because over 95% of survivors are trash.
Good survivors do the same. Noob3's 50 escapes? The fact that even 4 average players will almost never lose depending on voice comes? The fact that the majority of maps are survivor sided?
The Billy nerf was more like an abortion. It was ill thought out, just like nearly every other balance decision in this game.

LOL "Exposure".Those 4000-7000 viewers that some DBD twitchstreamers have is absolutely NOTHING, we had people trying to promote Hide or Die yet the game flopped hard, viewers worship personalities and often don't give a ######### what the streamer is playing.
I'm done with you, you have no clue about business OR gamedesign but you think you do. The dunning Kruger effect in full force.
I don't agree with Cote all the time but im glad he's in charge and not people with absolutely bonkers ideas that would instantly kill the game like Scottjund even tho I respect him or god forbid truetalent or you.
And you do? Lmao this game has never been balanced, the balance is terrible. If your position was that Billy needed to have his addons destroyed and get a huge nerf, then your idea of balance means nothing. So dumb and edgy, yet so confident in your stupidity. This community in a nutshell. Pea-brains like you are why this game is garbage.
Also, lol, Cote has gradually decrease the player count and turned this game into a cash grab. Most of the good players have left. Jund has way better ideas than the lead balance guy. It's so hilarious that someone who just has no idea what good balance is in this game is accusing other people of having no clue.
This is why I left DbD. Full of stupid people like you.

LuL calling me an edgelord right before calling the devs incompetent while citing people without any credentials in either gamedesign or even some semblance of education. What a joke you guys are. I love how you cited true, the guy is slow to say the least, it's not even an insult it's just as he loves to say "a fact" those are people you want to design games?
With people like you I think Kanye West could become president in 2024
Nobody gives a ######### about the top 1% in this game, period. The devs need to balance the game for the people you call "noobs", they rake in the money and keep this game going, not your idols.
Even league of legends doesn't exclusively balance around the top 1% and that is an actual esports game with prizes.
Because they are? Calling the devs bad isn't edgy, it's true. Claiming that Billy needs a nerf and everyone saying the devs went too far is edgy nonsense, because this happens all the time.
You don't need to be a game designer to recognize bad design. Do I need to be a game designer to recognize that Farron Keep is a horrid level in Ds3? Or that Clown is not underrated, as the lead DbD game designer said, but just bad? No. I don't, and neither does anyone else, and I love how you exclude the other 2 people I mentioned. And tru3, even if he is slow in your opinion, is good at the game, and has predicted several balance changes. Fools like you are more likely to lead to Kanye's election; I bet you're the kind of guy to blame Russia for Hillary losing in 2016.
The top 1% in this game brings the game a lot of exposure. Considering how most people are bad, specifically because the game design encourages it (survivor sided maps and balance, bad tutorial, weak killer balance, strong killers require a lot of time usually, etc) , a change in game design philosophy would encourage players to improve. Balancing around the worst players in your game, which DbD is more inclined to do, is not good for the game. DbD is a shameless cash grab with devs who don't even know their own game, unfortunately.

The streamer Circlejerk around billy is funny to watch, he's been overperforming compared to other killers for years now, there has never been a time where he wasn't one of the top, he completely invalidates half the roster and ppl are crying because his power has a downside now.
Meanwhile nobody was saying "oh, they gutted legion to hard and basically made him an even more boring m1 killer"
Streamers don't care about balance, they are about what's fun to THEM since they are spending an absolutely bonkers amount of time in this game, watching a billy destroy lowrank teams with ease because new survivors cannot deal with the mappressure and chainsaw was absolutely ridiculous.
I can't tell if you just don't know what you're talking about or are trolling.
First of all, most survivors are trash at this game. If you cannot progress to red ranks, you are bad at this game, and considering the overall percentage of people who have achieved this, and the recent rank changes, combined with survivor entitlement, most survivors just suck. Billy crushes noob teams because most teams are noob teams.
He used to not be completely terrible before this rework, because base kit Billy kind of gets destroyed by actually semi-competent survivors, but considering how his base kit got a big nerf, and a lot of his new addons are trash (instead of the devs using their brains and just nerfing ######### like crack Billy or tuning guide/lube).
People like you just strike me as edgelords who want to be controversial for brownie points. The devs have once again demonstrated they're mostly incompetent, to the surprise of absolutely nobody.
Literally everyone acknowledges Legion is an awful killer, so you're either ignorant or lying. Streamers, like Otz, Scott, True, etc., people who understands this game, are saying that Billy was overnerfed because they're true. More strong killers improve the overall health and diversity of the game.
But as long as we have people like you who just want to be edgy and don't understand gameplay balance, combined with a dev team where no one is even past like rank 10, you get this awfully balanced game.

@Hoodied said:
Jesus can we wait till the PTB, we have absolutely NO clue on how the new changes will work with him besides some words and a video. We have no clue what the basekit overheat is and we don’t know all the add-ons that were changed
We saw from the vid that the base kit overheat cd is about 10-15s. That is enormous, and you simply don't understand how the killer works if you don't understand that.
You can also stop pretending that the devs listen to PTB feedback, because we have plenty of evidence that they don't.
Bottom line - we already know the devs aren't good at this game. This is another attestation to that. They nerfed the most balanced killer in the game, and gave a small sort of buff to one of the weakest killers, several years too late. They have demonstrated, once again, that they don't know what they're doing.
If I was this bad at my job, I wouldn't be employed. Must be nice to be a game balancer, especially when you can say ridiculous nonsense like "Clown is underrated" on camera.

The difference here with your comparison is one is a country and the other is art. While everyone has an opinion about what's right or wrong this is at its core the expression of the developers and if you're so incensed by the decisions of this artistic vision your best option is to take your business elsewhere instead of resulting to slinging insults.
If you hate the bugs and the gameplay find a different game. If you feel like you know so much better then pick up blender and unreal and do better. Otherwise offer constructive criticism and stop name calling the devs.
Yeah, but the concept is the same. Why is this so hard for people to understand? Concepts transcend individual themes. Your criticism is bad.
I did not do that. I gave specific reasons why the game is lacking. I didn't just sling insults. Maybe you didn't read what I wrote. I have offered significantly more useful criticism than you, and honestly, people like you who just carry water for mediocre devs are as bad as people who ad hominem them, because neither of you contribute anything at all of substance to the discourse.

Then make your own game.
Whether or not I agree with OP, this is a really stupid response, like when people tell you to leave a country if you don't like it.
People get angry and frustrated with something or criticize it because they want it to improve. BHVR may treat their employees well, which is great, but they treat this game with no real measure of care. We saw from the last Q+A that the balance guy doesn't even play the game. Bugs persist for months or years and compound on top of each other, with extensive evidence, and BHVR does nothing about it. Killers don't receive reworks or retouches in order of urgency, or even anything close to regularly. The meta is extremely stale, perk wise, as far as viability, no that it matters because more recent game changes by BHVR have encouraged good players to leave, ending up with a situation where 90+% of the survivor player base is total garbage, feeding a positive feedback loop of people crying about things being too strong, which happens all the time here.
These are all substantive, concrete criticisms. This game, balance and maintenance wise, is a bad game. It is not maintained for, and cared for properly. I play it because the core loop is interesting, and I hope they improve it, even though history shows they won't, and even if they do, they'll probably do it in a counterproductive manner.
While i'm not sure they're quite as bad as Fallout devs, they're not really good at their jobs. Pointing this out with the evidence I've provided (and the litany of other evidence that exists) is valid.
-
Thanks.
Their answers were predictably terrible and out of touch. For giving a warped reasoning for why ToT reveals gen auras, to not acknowledging that Pyramid Head's perks are total trash, to saying Clown is underrated (and thereby demonstrating that the game balance just doesn't know anything about this game) , BHVR is continuing their descent from an Indie company with a good game to another out of touch dev studio.
Great job at being as mediocre as possible at your job, devs.
-
It's amazing how many people will do mental gymnastics and make excuses for BHVR still, despite being BHVR being about as close to objectively bad at their jobs as they can be. Sound still bugged to hell, new map is garbage.
I mean, how can you argue they even care about this game and don't care more about money than quality? This game is not a qualitynproduct, no matter how you slice it.

80 seconds is a decent amount of time for gen to get done and if you dont see that i feel sorry for you.
No, it isn't. When you consider how long chases take, multiple survivors on one or several gens at the same time, lack of slowdown perks - 80s is not reasonable, at all, especially at red ranks where I play. Only certain killers are viable, and if your survs are good, then not even viable killers win. Especially when over 80% of the maps in the game already favor survivors.

It's unrelated to the rank update error. We're working on a new matchmaking and ranking system which should help eliminate matches like this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124795
Two points.
One - DbD matchmaking is objectively terrible. How do you expect people to trust you guys this time around, when the dev team has done such a bad job so far?
Two - This is a hidden mmr system. It basically allows the devs to say they fixed it without doing anything. We can't see our ranks, so we don't know if it's fixed. Essentially, you're just eliminating the ability of people to criticize you. How do you grapple with legitimate concerns like this, especially considering how inconsistent certain scoring events are already?

You know how braindead your argument is? And by the way if that happened after 80 seconds it means that killer was simply chasing one survivors for that amount of time. I can counter your argument with:
How did killer manage to kill one survivor with 5 gens remaining to fix? Can you answer that question?
Yeah, that's the problem. That 3 gens can get done in 80 seconds. That a game can theoretically be done in 3-4 minutes. Do you understand this? Too difficult, maybe?
Yes, by facecamping. And that isn't even a guarantee. If the killer got a kill normally, and not by being dirty, then your team is objectively bad at the game, and the fault is on your team of survivors.
-
Oni is waaaaay more powerful. He feels better to play, imo, then Deathslinger, too.

3/5 = 60%
1/5 = 20%
Basic math for you my dude.
3 gens out of 5 is 60%. Did we skip 8th grade math? If 3 gens pop, that's 60% of the objective.

How it happened? Simple:
- SWF communication
How it can be prevented? Very simple:
- Corrupt Intervention (Plague perk)
- NOT playing the Huntress
- playing Billy or anyone else with good map pressure
- Hex: Ruin is still good, as a Survivor main I can never find it and it's always annoying
Corrupt is pretty good, but Ruin is completely useless if the survs stay on gens. It's not good on Huntress because she's 110. Pop or Corrupt are better.
Don't play killer X is the wrong answer. Huntress is strong, but the fact that people are resigned to saying "if you want to win, you can't play X" is an indication of bad balance.
Not that it's a surprise, because the devs have said clown is "underrated" and "fine", which is laughably stupid. The times when they make good balance changes feels like an accident.

@Aven_Fallen said:
First of all, not every Generator is 20% of the Survivor Objective. The first one or two are less %, because they are far more easy to be done. The last one will be the most difficult Generator, not that many ressources are left on the Map and maybe not even 4 Survivors are left.
Second, you dont see that much in this Clip. I see a Huntress making a bad throw and 3 Gens pop, while one person is on the Hook. This is expected if the Survivors dont spawn together and the Killer is only pressuring one Survivor until this point. But NOW comes the part where the Killer has more pressure - one person is on the Hook, one person is in Chase and one person is going for the rescue. So only one Survivor on a Gen. Not bad.
Third, where is the result? A clip which lasts a few seconds is not helpful at all, why should someone try to argue something when there is nothing to counter? I mean, from what it looks like, the team just ######### up, because they did all the Gens on one side of Suffocation Pit...
But of course someone will come and say that Killers should totally win with 5 Gens to go...
Did he ever say that? Nice strawman.
People like you who make braindead arguments like "oh, the killer has so much pressure even though 3 gens popped."
If it's a swf, one person goes for save, and 2 are on gens.
Why do we, instead of acknowledging the problems with gen speed, defend bad game design?

@Chrisko said:
Deathslinger is like a huntress that doesn't have to go to a locker to reload. Huntress could just throw hatchets at you until she either downed you or got close enough to M1.
My experience with Deathslinger:
In my experience I drop a pallet, he hits me across the loop (window, pallet or low obstruction), reels me in and I am now injured. Regardless whether I stay or move to another loop, he shoots me again (across the pallet and reels me in). Now I am downed and being hooked.
If i am far away from him, he runs me down while shooting at me. If I dodge the harpoon, he gains ground on me and eventually either harpoons me across the loop or M1s me when he gets close.
If he would have to reload somewhere or if the harpoon traveled a little slower to give some reaction time, it would give survivors a chance to dodge.
Okay, you're probably bad then.
First of all, Deathslinger (hereafter DS) 's power is way worse than Huntresses. The projectile is way harder to aim, and the hitbox is bugged to #########. There are YouTube videos of people shooting someone center mass and nothing happening all over the place, and that ######### happens to me several times, every time I play him.
Also, because of the recoil and reload, it's easier to lose sight of your target. You are almost always reloading mid-chase, whereas Huntress has usually finished chase when she reloads.
He is hard countered by mid-long loops, and some small loops. Huntress just hits over them. Any situation where you can hit with DS at a loop, Huntress can hit and down. He usually can't.
Also, survivors have way more control over his power than him. His power is useless at Max range, and even mid range if there's an object in the way.
So yeah. Huntress is much better than DS; you're just wrong if you say otherwise. He is piss-easy to go against, and if you're losing a lot, you are playing incorrectly. He doesn't need a nerf; he's already crap.

I’ve seen two teammates down before first gen less than a minute into the game. How is it fair that you’re capable of doing that?
Maybe because he's in the top .1% of killers? The question is "how does an average killer deal with this", and this answer is, "they don't", which is why this game is losing killers.
I can't believe people are stupid enough to respond with "but it's a 4k" or posts like yours, ignoring the fact that this guy is an extremely skilled streamer and likely one of the best killers in the game.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
So everything here is entirely false. Do you even play this game?
No it isn't. Like 90% of my red rank games I've 3 or 4k'd with him, and I still think he's trash. Survivors control his power more than him, has 0 map pressure, his power is super buggy and hitboxes are cancer, etc. He is absolutely the worse of the 2 ranged killers, and it isn't even close.

I mean, I've played fps games at a high level for years, but the aiming mechanic isn't even comparable. Especially on console. No ads customization, at all, worse projectile hitbox than in Apex (which has famously bad net code)...

He's very good. He shuts down conventional survivor pathing and forces survivors to make mistakes. In a sense he is comparable to billy, he just doesn't have a one shot down.
He would be above billy if he could drag people across pallets
He's a high skill killer that severely punishes even missing once, so not many people will be good with him, even going forward.
What a ridiculous evaluation.
He would be comparable to other high B/Low A tier killers. He still wouldn't be as good as Billy if he could drag over pallets. As it stands, his power is easy to juke, the hitbox sucks anyway, he's slow, has bad map pressure, survivors have more.control over his power than him, etc.
He's a really bad killer. Definitely bottom 5.

Quit complaining, he's a good killer.
No he isn't, I have a good build for him (Stbfl, Nurse's, M+A, Pop) and it still depends on the map and the survivors. Against a good swf, he gets bullied hard, and that's all there is to it. He can't punish mistakes nearly as hard as a killer like Oni, Billy, Spirit, so he just isn't as good, because his power has way too many counters.
-
@Godot said:
Sabotage is trash. I'm not sure why people are complaining about it. I played tons of games since the release of the current patch and I've noticed that literally nobody ran the new Saboteur perk (except 2 people: some random guy and myself) because it's impossible to get it right, at least for me. Oh not to mention, the perk resets/cancels itself if you only TOUCH a hook, which is frustrating and I'm not sure if that's intentional.
The new map isn't survivor sided at all, every time I played as survivor on it, me and my team (red ranks by the way) all died, and when I played as Killer on it two times, both times I got 4k and Merciless (played as Cannibal and Doctor). Don't forget the breakable walls that worked out for me super well.
Toolboxes are trash now and I'm not complaining despite being a survivor main. Every game I played since the release I lost, except one of them that I managed to get Adept Zarina on via luck.
I think you played 2-3 games and because you lost all of them, you decided to write this thread without thinking.
I played like 10, lost 2 (as Deathslinger at red ranks no surprise). The issue is the new killer sucks so bad that I don't even want to play him; might as well go back to killing everyone with Oni, and that's what I did.
New map is survivor sided. Big, easy to hide, great for BL, good loops. It isn't as bad as, say, Blood Lodge or a farm map, but it's still big.
Sabo isn't useless; it isn't my fault you play against potatoes. If they break a hook in your face, unless there's one close (which isn't always the case), you have to slug.
Toolbox changes aren't as severe as I thought they were. But there's still the problem of gen speeds being fast as hell anyway, so now people will just do the first few with no boxes when the killer has no pressure anyway, then do the last few gens much faster.
-
@Babyyy_Boyy said:
what do you guys think? I’m currently stuck in between and can’t tell or decide what he needs. I’d say nerf.
If you say nerf, you are very obviously not a red rank killer. He is complete trash, C or D tier.
He needs a buff. Like several. A few good ideas would be...
115 mvmt speed (his power isn't nearly strong enough to warrant 110)
Can drag people over pallets
Less stun penalty for his weapon
He's honestly top 5 worst killers in the game. He's helpless on maps with lots of loops and pallets, like Ormond. He's a really poorly designed killer, and it's kind of amazing how the devs can make a pretty well balanced killer like Oni in one patch, then do a terrible job the next one.

Good thing the devs match it with equally terrible balancing. Maybe the community has bad feedback a lot, but the balance is still terrible, and the game is still buggy as hell.
-
Ok, I also got multiple 4ks at R1.
My example, just like yours, is anecdotal evidence and means nothing at all.
Just because you can get a 4k at red ranks, which are new flooded with noobs because of the stupid rank reset changes, doesn't mean he isn't bad. He's a weak killer with a bunch of problems, and a couple 4ks against potatoes doesn't change that.
I can't imagine anyone is convinced by a terrible example like this, though...

I kind of find it hard to believe. I expected major changes to him since you guys took 3 weeks for this patch. Guess i was wrong... i have lost my faith on you guys..
They barely listen to community feedback, ever. They haven't listened to feedback about Bubba, Pig, Spirit, and they also haven't listened to any feedback at all about the maps and gen speed.
They haven't demonstrated that they listen to or care at all what the community thinks. They don't fix major balance issues that have existed for months or years. And now that they haven't listened to community feedback regarding this killer, some people are still acting surprised. This is the exact reason people have cause to say bhvr only views this game as a cash cow. They just do such a bad job most of the time, regarding balance and feedback.

I must agree that the dev update was badly worded but the patch itself wasn't really bad. Doctor feels better to play on both sides now and old Ruin was unhealthy for the game balance. Right now they're tweaking the toolboxes to compensate and if that isn't enough, they'll do more changes later.
Bro, the toolbox change is a buff. They do gens faster, and now that you don't lose items upon depletion, people will just not use boxes for the first part of the match when the killer has no pressure anyway, and do the latter gens even faster.
Ruin was a band aid fix for trash map design (because the map design in this game is completely terrible) and fast gen speeds. It didn't even entirely fix the problem but it helped. Other than it being highly debatable if it "wasn't healthy for the game", because the people who felt it the worst were bad survivors, it's a problem that the devs themselves are responsible for.

I mean, I play 10+ killers at red ranks, but I'm better than most killers. Not trying to be a douche, but that's just how I see it, since I'm r1 kill and surv. Most people aren't Scott Jund or Tru3 or Otz or Zubat, and will have a hard time at red ranks with non A or S tier killers. People dont want to sweat their balls off to get a kill, they want to have fun.
-
This is entirely on the devs for making so few killers viable and driving off a large percentage of killers with bad design choices. If you want to play against a more varied cast of killers, you should support more killer buffs, because it's far too rough for most killers for most people right now.

What's keeping it from release? Was he too weak or too powerful so they're shifting and changing some things?
Too many bugs? Maybe something with the tiny hitbox that makes Latency even More noticable??
They told us like a day or two before "normal" release that it would be delayed because they wanted to add an extra week.
Bhvr never technically promises to release stuff on a certain day, so when there's inevitably some bug or other issue (which happens pretty frequently), they can do this.
Whether or not it will fix anything is up for debate, but it's looking like March 10, unless unforseen circumstances happen. I wouldn't get your hopes up about the Deathslinger not being a bad killer, though.
-
Imagine complaining about a B tier killer.
While it is funny that BHVR failed spectacularly at their stated goal of making him less frustrating, Doc needed a buff, because he was awful. Now he gets elevated from C tier to B tier and people immediately cry about it.
This post shows what's wrong with the DbD survivor community, in a nutshell.
-
I don't want to come off as a douche, but I think I'm better than most killers. If I has to guess, at least 90%. It takes a pretty good team to beat me at R1, and even then, it won't happen on certain killers unless I have a bad game.
I don't like to lose and I've always been above average at most vga's, so I guess that keeps me going. DbD, for all of its flaws (and it has many), has one very big redeeming quality: You can feel like you have total control over the outcome of the match, sometimes. That's so rare in multiplayer games nowadays.
Now there are caveats to this. Obviously you have 0 control playing Clown, Legion, even Spirit sometimes. But with certain killers, you can get the feeling of control, and I like it.

It wasn't necessarily the nerf to ruin, it's that the devs gave killers a big f-you with a side of f-yourself in compensation.
In other words, if they had nerfed ruin but constricted the maps, that would have been acceptable, at least then this mythic "generator pressure" would be attainable by more than the nurse and hillbilly. Besides all they did was swap one "crutch perk" in old Ruin for another "crutch perk" in corrupt intervention.
This is why you see NOED being used so much more often, a lot of killers were used to running three perks anyway since Ruin would usually only last a minute (and even at that point, it had done its job) so now killers just expect survivors to gen rush and ignore totems since Ruin seemed to be the only thing that would compel survivors to look for totems outside of maybe farming BP's. So now survivors rush gens, killers adapt with endgame builds, and we end up with the forums chock full of people crying about NOED.
It's even more hilarious when you consider that survivors are still rocking no less than 4 second chance perks. Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable, and Adrenaline
Even with Oni or Billy or other strong kier's, you have to slug at high ranks. It's not possible to win against a good team otherwise.
Whoever designs maps for this game is just so fantastically bad at what they do. That's the real problem with this game; terrible, terrible map design. It's not balanced in over 90% of cases, with the majority of those cases favoring survivor.
But I doubt they'll fix maps. Devs/community managers never engage in real, substantive discussion at length on the forums when its pointed out that the map design is so bad. Maybe they're not allowed. Fine. But it doesn't change the fact that the map design from a balance perspective is the real reason this game is so terribly imbalanced.
And we know that so far they're mostly interested in band-aid fixes. That's what the BL nerf was, after all. They decided to rework Lery's, for no good reason, instead of reworking the broken disaster that maps like Haddonfield, Rotten Fields, Thompson House, Cowshed, etc, are.

It will just make bad queue times worse. There are few viable killers already, so making the most balanced killer in the game weaker because survivors like to cry about his chainsaw isn't the way to fix the problem.
I remember in one of Scott Jund's vids he pointed out that 90%+ of players are terrible at this game. Which is fine, but then they blame the game for it, instead of improving as players. Whiny survivors is the reason killers have it so hard now. And even though the devs will still probably ignore killers and heed survivors and new players over veterans, it should still be discussed.

So what? Most red rank survivors are actually green rank survivors in disguise, so the matchmaking is fine behind the numbers. What you postd is the perfect example.
This is something that isn't pointed out enough. Since the devs reworked rank reset (and made it worse, like usual) , there are even more potatoes than ever at red ranks. Now rank, while.not entirely meaningless, means the least that it ever has.
If how they handle the MMR system is anything like they have handled the emblem system, in addition to it not working properly, it's going to be janky, esoteric, and almost meaningless. It being hidden is essentially their band-aid fix for being unable to fix matchmaking.

Well, if the update is delayed a mere week (which is nothing) - they probably have their reasons. I would rather wait a bit for a better working patch than get something buggy and unfinished early.
Considering their track record, we'll still probably get something buggy and unfinished, just delayed by a week.
The new killer is still going to be C tier at best if they don't adjust him. He's going to be played for a week or less, then you'll never see him again. More Oni, Nurse, Billy, etc

For how long does the crash problem in loading screen exist? If I am right, it exists since the beginning of 2017 and devs still didn't fix it.
This is frustrating af to wait for a game you'll not play.
40% of the time this nonsense happens to me. Oddly enough, it started the very day dedicated servers were implemented.
Honestly, I know they'll deny it, but the impression the devs are giving with the current state of the game is that they really don't care, almost at all. Such a shame.

Demogorgon and Oni mostly. I don’t understand why Demo’s play rate is so low; he’s not that easy but he’s certainly not as hard as some Killers, and when mastered he’s really good. Oni is one of the best examples of high skill, high reward in this game. Bad Oni’s really are just worse Billies. Good Oni’s are old Nurse tier, no lie.
Literally no one with any game knowledge thinks Oni is bad. He's a very strong killer. In some senses, he is stronger than Billy.
I agree on Demo though. He's easy A tier when played properly, and he applies a lot of map pressure with good/frequent portal placements and a good build.

I don't even think it's that it's being ignored, it seems more that they devs aren't capable of recognizing the problems.
We've seen before, every time it's a dev streaming gameplay (most notably M Cote) ,that most ( I don't want to say all ) of the devs just don't play this game at a high level. I'm not saying everyone on the balance team needs to be a God at DbD, but at least a few people should be pretty good.
And so we get stuck with things like completely horrible map design, very few viable killers, one side having a clear advantage over the others, nerfs/buffs that make no sense at all or are band-aid fixes, etc
I'm not trying to be a butt, but I almost never see this get brought up. This game is balanced around the mentality of green and yellow rank survivors.

Yeah, but killer isn't survivor, so devs don't care about making it fun for them.

Power creep is arguably more of an issue in Dead by Daylight since we have paid DLCs and both sides don't have access to the same things. If a hero is too powerful in Overwatch, that's alright because both sides can pick them and everyone has them.
I'd have to respectfully disagree about every recent perk being bad. I regularly use perks like Inner Strength, Any Means Necessary, and Nemesis.
Not really, power creepy almost doesn't exist in this game for killers, because killers haven't received any significant buffs recently. Just nerfs. Oni is a very strong killer, bit other than that? Legion Nerf, Pig Nerf, Ruin nerf, small Trapper and Plague buffs (but they suck already, so it doesn't change things). It's a problem in OW because Reaper and Mei get buffed to deal with GOATs, then 2/2/2 becomes implemented and suddenly Reaper and Mei are meta up to OWL level.
We can look at the last 3 chapters.
Demogorgon has 2 trash perks and 1 decent but still not great perk. Steve has 3 trash perks. Nancy has 1 good perk, 1 mediocre perk, 1 trash perk. So that's 1/9.
Oni DLC. Oni has 2 trash perks and 1 mediocre perk that only is useful sometimes with certain builds. Yui has 2 trash perks and 1 that is trash most of the time but is decent against bad killers or in a highly coordinated team.
And this latest DLC. The new surv has 1 trash perks, 1 that is the same as Any Means Necessary in functionality (Red Herring), and 1 good perk. The Deathslinger, in addition to being a weak killer, has 1 decent perk and 2 trash perks.
So, at the very best, out of the last 21 perks being released, you have 2 good perks, that are on survivor. And even then, neither of these are as strong as meta perks. Iron Will, Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, new Saboteur, Borrowed Time, Head On. And this isn't even considering killers. None of the last 3 DLC's have had a new meta perk. The best perk is looking like either Gearhead (which is worse than Discordance, Surveillance, or Thrilling Tremors) or Nemesis, which is so niche that you can't consider it meta.

Just to make it clear, not all perks are designed to be the new best. Specifically making things that are going to be the new best is how power creep happens, and that's not something we want. Often times we'll make perks that offer alternative ways to play. Something like Head On might not be that powerful, but it's fun to use and adds some variety to the game.
Power Creep is one thing; having multiple chapters in a row where nearly every killer and survivor perk is total garbage is another. The latter is the state of the game.
The meta has been the same for a long time, other than the balance team destroying Ruin, because only a few perks are viable in this era. Killers are weaker than ever, and instead of addressing the problem, the balance team does nothing. They create more bad perks that have 0 use in red/purple ranks, and nothing changes because it is impossible to win against a good team without running perks like Pop, BBQ, SF+Enduring, etc, i.e. meta perks.
Power Creep is absolutely not a problem in this game; this isn't Overwatch.

Today I was kicked out of the match ( disconnected from the host) AND I GOT BANNED FOR IT.
After it I was watching a streamer, he was kicked out of the match as well AND WAS BANNED TOO.
What is going on with the dedicated servers?! Why do we get banned?
We pay for this game , so be that nice to make customers enjoy what they spent money for.
This is why I changed my mind about the ban topic. I initially supported d/c bans, but when I stopped to consider how buggy and poorly supported this game is, with various glitches and d/C's occuring regularly, it doesn't make sense. At least half of the time, people d/c because of the game itself, so d/c penalty is a bad idea.
It's another one of those band-aid fixes the devs love so much. People hate d/C's? Don't fix the problem, blame the customer for falling victim to the 1,000 bugs this game has.
