  • Hard to be too upset. The devs 100% created this problem themselves with A) no rank reward system, which would be easy to implement B) No serious way to counter de-ranking, such as a system that actually means something and C) The sweaty nature of high-level games that poor game design encourages.

I know it isn't allowed, but this kind of behavior is encouraged by developer design decisions, and the fact that they haven't seriously tried to fix any of these problems is their fault.

  • No mention of giving the killers a helping hand in other regards. Killers just got a huge nerf across the board. Now a nerf to the most balanced killer in the game is on the works, and they're nerfing slowdown perks to not have synergy? You're supposed to synergize perks.

Slowdown perks are meta because of bad map design. Just like how ruin is a band-aid fix for bad maps, and the BL nerf was a band-aid for bad maps. Now they revert the efficacy of slowdown perks because it isn't fun for survivors? What about killers who are forced to run the same perks every match because we have to if we want to win, because of poor balance.

Its honestly incredible how biased the devs are towards survivors.

Only if they're douchebag survivors. The senior players will know that they are going against a weak killer, and go easy on them, so that they also can learn, and have a good game experience..

Yeah, because high rank survivors go easy on baby killers all the time.

That is completely divorced from reality. Especially red ranks? They just teabag and loop baby killers and end the game in 4 minutes. Matching to the lowest level survivor is an awful idea.

  • Slugging for the entire match is toxic, and only bad killers do it.

Slugging for a little bit because you have Infectious or they have DS is not, and is required to win games at high ranks.

At the end of the day, the devs are the real toxic ones here, for fostering environments that forces people to play like this to win.

Another cherry-picked video from an obnoxious streamer who plays the game for a living. He has between 10 to 20 matches during a stream and one of them fits the narrative so we use that to prove our point.

If you change gen times, you throw 90% of the game out of whack in order to balance for 10% of your players. This may work in an esport game, but not a casual game where you need to maximize participation and purchase.

I've had matches where 3 gens pop before my third trap is in hand. Those are rare matches, but they do happen. Those are not my normal match.

Talking about cherry picking, when you pull 90% out of thin air. You are dead wrong, and especially at red ranks, I would bet my left nut that way more than 10% are sweet fests where gens pop extremely fast. I should know, since I play there. It is not even remotely uncommon to have 2 gens pop first chase and a 3rd on 2nd hook. If the survivors know how to loop properly, no amount of skill will save you. You just lose. That's how this game is structured.

The balance discussion is already a moot point, since the devs are total garbage at it and are only doing it for the money. Space Coconut made a good video about this.

  • Oni because he's one of the strongest killers in the game, and at red ranks, you have to be sweaty to win. This is, of course, the dev's faults, but we already know they can't balance at all, so you work with what you've got.

BBQ/Infectious/M+A/ a slowdown perk, plus Scalped Topknot and a Speed or Duration add-on is one of the strongest builds in the game, out of any killer, period.

  • Absolutely false. Ruin provides a buffer for killers with garbage early game. Now it doesn't even do that. This is the same thing as saying "if you need DS, you're a bad survivor", when everyone knows that's nonsense. Same with Ruin. Of course, now people resort to different tactics, but this was never true. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't really understand killer balance.

  • 3 perks, add-ons/offerings allowed, Merciless victory (2 pip). Which means it's impossible to get at red ranks on killers, so yeah.

  • Their short term plan is , seemingly, milk the game for all it's worth then let it die. Look at Deathgarden and this game. They have no idea how to balance a game properly.

I just think it comes down to upper management really not caring about their game. Space Coconut had a great video on this a little while ago. They refuse (or are too stupid) to fix game breaking bugs, re-balance killers that really need it (like Bubba), and at the end of the day, care far more about money than their customers' desires. Just look at the most recent "event" .

  • How about we encourage the devs to fix the objectively terrible matchmaking and ranking/emblem system? They probably won't because they don't care about the community, but shaming killers for de-ranking (even if it isn't cool) when it is understandable is not the way.

The devs are the problems. They created this situation where people want to derank.

You should stop posting this same screenshot under every post even slightly connected with machmaking. You understand that you are literally cherry picking. By using anecdotal evidence you don't prove anything. You just show your sheer ignorance.

Literally everyone who plays this game more than a couple hours a week knows how bad the matchmaking is. Every single solitary popular streamer thinks the matchmaking is trash.

No one buys your self-righteous BS, you can go away now.

  • Yeah. Survivors have more fun, while killers get shafted. This, in addition to the braindead change to rank reset a while ago, will pile up bad survivors at high ranks, while continuing to penalize killers.

I've said it before and will say it again: DbD devs are some of the most horribly incompetent developers I've ever encountered. They don't know how to balance and don't play their own game at a high level. This game will die eventually, bar a major overhaul in how things get done, due to dev incompetence.

  • Bubba and Freddy. They don't have any.

Although tbf, I'm not sure what you could make for Freddy, since we only ever see him in his sweater. Human Freddy wouldn't really fit.

  • Used to be killer, but there are so many bugs lately with killer emblems, in addition to the terrible and nonsensical nature of the emblem system in general, I switched to both.

Would be really nice if BHVR cared enough to fix their game.
