Oh, you failed to survive against [X] killer when they were using their best addons and a mori? I guess [X] killer is just totally unbeatable. Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, but you need to understand that 3 examples do not constitute ironclad proof of anything. Your sample size is too small and is skewed by a killer that's stacking powerful addons/offerings (and shame on them for doing that). And as said above, even if you were right it wouldn't prove that Spirit was uncounterable, only that YOU can't counter her.
You haven't posted the vid, so I can't comment on it. Here's some tips on how to actually beat Spirit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19fyTS63bQ4
Tru3's not my favorite streamer, but his advice here is on the mark. He's got a whole playlist of him outplaying Stridor Spirits that you can check out.
But my best advice if you want to get better at playing against Spirit, as always, is to try playing her. Learn how she works from the Killer's perspective and what the limits of her power are. I guarantee once you start seeing high-ranked survivors juking you you'll get a good idea of what to do when you next play against her.
Tru3 is seriously underestimating how precise you can hear survivors with Stridor. I know exactly where the survivor is, healthy or injured.
If I've broke a pallet I can phase to someone running between loops, guess where they are, come out of phase a bit away from them and still get a hit before they make the next loop.
-
A spirit who tunnelled me today and chased me for 5 plus minutes said we played like dicks.
I asked how.
They said "I couldn't get you because you threw pallets down quick"
Some people are just beyond reason. Play how you want. Regardless you'll annoy some people.

Can somebody clarify if this issue with cross progression is a technical issue or a legal/rights one?
If the issue is cross buy, I'll buy all the DLC again. I just want my progress.

I've already bought everything on PS4 again after my time on Switch. I'd love to transfer my progress from Switch. I have every perk unlocked, and I have P3 Cheryl with all the perks. Would be nice to have it back. Plus all the cakes, the leftover BP, the leftover Auric cells... the shards.. I can't go back to Switch because the framerates even worse there than on PS4.
I have over 300 cakes on PS4. I'm out on PC now.
-
I should say, if cross buy is holding up Sony and Microsoft, I just like my Progress. I'll buy all the DLC again if I have to.

I'm judging him for that the killer is. It's like saying bubba is A-Tier because of PWYF strat.
Some killers really benefit from perks. Freddie with Pop and Oni with Infectious for example. These perks make them so much better.

Dark devotion is going to be one of his best perks in the same way Stbfl is very good on demogorgon and deathslinger.
It's uniquely powerful on him.
Why would it be uniquely powerful on him?
-
The hatch mechanic is bad. It's bad for both survivors and killers. Survivors don't want to wait 3 minutes to bleed out if they are slugged.
-
A lot of killers like to blame their bad games on SWF. In reality they just did bad or the survivors did well.
People would dodge lobbies because of this bogeyman they have created.

But swf gives free perks because of the info
So does a headset.
No headset and Stridor is still worse than just a headset. #banheadsets

Slugging is not against the rules, while disconnecting is, and if a survivor can benefit from someone on their team disconnecting something is not right.
Plus, slugging already comes with some risks, and I think that people abusing an against-the-rules tactic should not be one of them.
Hatch mechanic could be tweaked a bit, but I think that at the moment it is enoghly balanced except when someone disconnects, while I also agree with you that they could add also a "Suicide" option if a survivor is left on the ground for too much time and the killer is clearly ignoring them (something like "Survivors can kill themself if they have gained at least 2 stationary crows while on the ground")
While I'm not encouraging or advocating this behavior, sometimes rules have to be broken. A plan only survives first contact with the enemy. When people actually play then game, things change.

i mean this just speaks more about you then anything i feel. Your name is i teabag at gate, you dc for your friends in a swf, you can't let a killer win by playing well you have to dc to let others have a chance
If the killer has played well they've won regardless of a hatch escape.
The mechanic is bad but it's worse for survivors being left on the ground with no chance of escape. You're only seeing it from the killers side

"Killers who slug for hatch aren't doi h it for this."
they are they are just waiting to pick you up because they don't want the last survivors to win because of a coin flip(aka hatch spawn)'
"They are slugging so hatch doesn't open. They have no intention of picking them up"
they are slugging so hatch doesn't open yes but after they down the last survivor they go and pick everyone up for the stacks/points ive only let people bleed out if they are bming me
If or when they down the last survivor you mean. Which could be 2-3 minutes later.
The hatch mechanic is crap but I'm not going to spend 3 minutes on the floor so the killer benefits from it.

@metalklok said:

slugging is not an exploit. Slugging counter plays certain perks/play styles. what is slugging abusing? the intended purpose of a survivor falling on the floor is to wait to get saved or to get picked up
You've said it yourself. Survivors being knocked are meant to be picked up by the killer or their team.
Killers who slug for hatch aren't doi h it for this.
They are slugging so hatch doesn't open. They have no intention of picking them up. If they get saved, they'll just down them again and repeat until they bleed out on the floor.
-
When are they going to address the Slug to prevent hatch opening exploit?
Now I'm not encouraging or endorsing this behaviour or anything but my SWF will always DC if the killer tries this. I'm not going to lay around for 3 minutes so you can ensure your 4k.
The issue is the mechanic. It needs to be changed. Give survivors a bleed out option and change the endgame so it's not a race for hatch.
-
Monitor & Nurses will be a mainstay. Being able to attack through walls makes Nurses very strong and Monitor makes that even better.
I would go NOED for the 3rd perk since it's ridiculously overpowered.
4th perk is more of a toss up for me. I might still hook people to start with so BBQ is a choice. Hex Ruin or Corrupt could slow the game down but neither are as good as Pop and we know Pop won't be great on Pyramid Head.
Discordance might be my choice. It helps slow down gens but it also tells you where people are which can be very important, especially if it comes down to the final gens.
-
I used to play killer watching tv and survivor with a headset on now I play survivor while watching TV and have to try hard as killer.
-
I just have mine as Space Space and Toggle.
-
Survivors are also learning how to play against the new killer. Both sides are tryharding.

Borrowed Time (I am not saying DS is overpowered or broken but there are situations where you can't do anything to a downed survivor because they have DS, an example would be in the exit door but other than that, DS is OK).
Borrowed Time is for camping.
DS gives you a chance to get away and hide. Borrowed just means you get a longer chase.
-
He gets destroyed early game. He can't pressure and set up.
Hopefully the new 'Earlygame Collapse' will help.
-
Nobody thinks it's a serious post. It's a false equivalency.
Killers already have ways to make gens revert. Survivors need DS or tunnelling will become the best strategy in the game.
-
I open the stream in my second monitor. I get to see their perks, where they and teammates are and the best part, locker grabs.
They'll accuse me of sniping in the endgame chat and I'll just insist it was a great guess.
-
It would be nice to get clarification on this soon. It has me holding off on purchases.
-
We can assume it's based on things you do during matches.
Chases, Saves, Gens etc. Downs, Hits, Sacrifices etc.
The main question will be how is it weighted. In random lobbies a save is a big thing. In SWF I can tell you the killer is chasing me and a 4 year old could get the save.

I'm on Pc but thank you nonetheless
If you close the chat it stays closed even in future games. Some survivors will comment on your profile but you can make that private as well.
YYou shouldn't have to do this but if the toxic messages are getting to you, avoid them.
-
If you let them get to you, you can close chat or disable messages on console.

If you want the 4k you complete your job.
I do. But I have to slug for it. Which is unfun for me and the survivors.
-
@Madjura said:
Why do you care about getting four kills instead of three?
I'm playing against 4 people. If I play good enough to get all 4 I shouldn't have to extend the game by 5 minutes to secure it.
Killers don't like that, survivors don't like that.
-
Even without perks he's a very strong killer. BBQ and PGTW make his teleport and gen pressure a lot stronger.
Sloppy slows the game down even further. NOED would secure the win.
-
You're free to play how you want. I've decamped with Bubba as well.
But don't complain when you get hate. You even started fanning the flames.
Again, I do the same, because I enjoy these messages, but I don't then complain about it like I'm shocked. You knew what you were doing.

I'm not saying you're bad by any means. I just wish there was a mechanism in place to limit the advantage. Ideally, if the game was fair you'd average a 2k flat, and less than that given the info about playstyle (non-optimized, but high risk).
SWF should give an advantage. Every other game is the same, good communication and planning gives an advantage.
As long as the devs know this and are considering it for balance, I think it's fine.
A flat 2k is a good point to aim for balance wise but good players playing with good players are going to do better than that. The game shouldn't force everyone towards the flat 2k.

I was bored, so I put this data in a spreadsheet to do my own statistical analysis, and the average comes up as 2,32.
Also, I think the Nurse has a typo. You have every other killer organized by how many times you faced them, but the Nurse is a 6 between an 8 and a 7.
EDIT: The sum also comes up as 246, not 250.
I cut out a few games where the killer DC'd early. I knew it would mess with the results a tiny bit
-
@Seiko300 said:
It's only been one year since the last stats came out in 2019, I would hardly think those numbers would have changed drastically enough to warrant new charts in 2020.
Clown still has huge issues
Demogorgon is still played extremely infrequently even though he is "the most balanced"
Plague has huge issues
Pig has huge issues
Legion has huge issues
etc.
We knew this then, we still know it now, what difference do new "slightly different" numbers make?
Nah I'd say those numbers have changed quite a bit. We've had the ruin change in that time.
It's very easy to rank up as survivor right now while it's not easy as killer. If you play red ranks with randoms you'll see most random survivors aren't very good while random killers, bar Spirit mains, are good.
I think we would see that at red ranks killers are performing very well against randoms while SWFs are performing significantly better.
But at purple ranks it's probably a lot more even with less variation between randoms and SWF.
-
I really enjoy playing as Demogorgan and Ghostface but they aren't the best at the top ranks.
Pyramid Head seems really fun and strong so I'm hoping for a new main.
-
@JustCats said:
It's a little troublesome that you perform significantly better than 2k on average playing not tryhard, but also overly altruistic. I would imagine that a reasonably casual ("we don't play ultra sweaty") but high risk ("we will try to save each other no matter the cost") approach should generally land you somewhere under 2k as an average. And it's typically just a 3-man.
In other words - what happens to that average when a 4 man swf takes it seriously and doesn't make extra risky plays?
Two of us are very good players. I'm a rank 1 survivor and killer on PC and Console. The other is probably a better looper than me.
SWF with good players and good communication is obviously going to lead to a higher than average escape ratio. I think 2.36 is a very reasonable number.
It's also worth noting survivors on console have it easier because console killers have to deal with framerate issues while this isn't a common issue on the survivor side.

What rank were the killers?
Almost always Red Ranks. There were probably about 20 games with lower ranked killers. 12 being the lowest.

I mean I really only bring a mori if i see a full FL squad idc about keys tbh.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1332404#Comment_1332404
Yea mori's kill survivors early on and the only counter play is not getting caught, with keys you just wait until the hatch spawning conditions are meet then you stop doing gens to look for it and escape with whoever your able to bring along. There is also the issue that once you make it to the hatch your pretty much invincible and you can come across a key in the trial or 3 other survivors might bring one.
You don't 'wait' until hatch spawning conditions are met. You have to do gens. All 5 gens to get 4 people out. 4 gens to get 3 people out.
And then you have to find hatch, get everyone together and get out. What is the killer doing during this time? Assert any pressure on the team and keys are useless or used by one person to abandon everyone else.

You are presumably okay with killers lobby dodging if they see a key then?
Keya are nothing like moris. Show me a video of somebody using a key to escape 30 seconds into the game. I'll show you hundreds of quick moris.
-
Why should a survivor stay when the killer put on an offering that
A) Gives them an easy win
B) Makes the match unfun
-
Moris can end games in less than a minute.
Keys only work towards endgame for hatch. Some keys don't even open hatch.
They are not the same. Stop trying to say they are the same.

4v1 m8. The one needs to get some advantages.
Killers already have advantages. They move faster, can see gens, hear rushed actions etc.
Seeing items and playtime is not needed. I can fast swap items last second anyway.

My profile has always been private. I don't see any reason to not have it on private.
I like the comments from Salty Survivors when I beat them. I also play other games where people might look at my profile and not gain information they don't need.
-
But I can’t play this anymore. Cheats, toxicity, SWF, bad match making.... a killer can’t do anything anymore.
Cheats are not common. I have over 150 hours on PC and I haven't seen any.
Matchmaking is fine. You'll face people near your rank unless you have to wait a while.
Toxicity happens on both sides but it's part of competition. If you can't handle that, maybe go play Minecraft.
The game is hard for killers right now but I'm still winning at rank 1. I still lose at Rank1 as survivor.
Good players still have fun.

I mean, it's end game...what else is there to do except secure your kill. It sucks when its your first hook and your teammates cant/wont save you, but its understandable. Doesn't mean people arent going to complain about it.
If it gets to endgame and you have no kills you aren't safety pipping anyway. A second kill wont help. Even if all 4 die trying to save you'd be lucky to pip.
Have the self respect and not play like a coward.

There would be something wrong if the game encouraged that, yes. However, it doesn't in the slightest. I can't think of a single decent multiplayer game on Steam that doesn't let me open up someone's profile. Those who don't want their profiles to be seen simply change the adequate privacy settings.
Show usernames in the endgame screen.
Killers check profiles and dodge survivors if they've played a lot. Legacy cosmetics cause lobby dodging as well.
