  • I switch off daily whichever killer I feel like playing. I was a Mike main for the longest time now I play Oni. I’d say if you want to truly master a killer then play that one till you get bored.

  • Dark Devotion, Thana, Sloppy butcher, Franklin’s

Are you just sitting by the hook slugging the unhookers? Or are you talking about patrolling, finding a survivor, downing them, and then just patrolling and finding another one.

Out patrolling I don’t camp, I don’t tunnel. In this instance they consistently made bad plays snowballing me

  • @emptyCups said:

You cant slug, Camp, Or tunnel

Every survivors is somehow entitled to 3 lives but not right in a row. They need 9 hooks as a team in a row THEN anyone can be removed from play. But we only have 3 minutes to do so before the gens are done as killers. And the last person gets the hatch for free

That sounds about right, thanks for the education I know better now

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Slugging isnt outplaying survivors. Its outdoing basic game mechanics and just scummy play as killer. The only thing that needs to be fixed is that slugging shouldnt be possible like it actually is. Its not fun to lay on the ground half the game til a sweaty killer got his "will".

Bull, I’m not letting allowing a survivor to do objectives/be altruistic right in front of me, I will slug if there’s an immediate threat present

The survivors. They have all the power, and as soon as they realize they CAN bully you, they will.

This isn't like, some jab at the devs or anything either, I mean I am legit scared to play killer a lot of the time because I know I am going to get bullied most matches.

Survivors is chill as can be though, no stress, no worries, so I mostly just play survivor now so it's not such a big deal.

I agree, I just played a game as GF and got my face handed to me. I don’t like swf groups that much really it’s difficult to gain the upper hand

  • Myers, all day. Dark Devotion jump scares in tier 3

  • Thicc P3 Jane’s terrify me, ptsd from lockers, I seen that Jane I get flashbacks then fear chases that lead to lockers

It's already almost impossible to loop spirit fury without a god window. But Nemesis + PWYF is gonna need you to find someone, eat a stun, and then chase that specific person for like 50 seconds to build up 3 stacks.

That's 50 seconds of 3 people on gens, not including the time to find and get stunned, and then you lose a stack to down the guy you are chasing, so you can be losing ~2 gens worth of time to get 2 stacks and a down.

So you basically need to turn them into a multiple slugs or you can be liable to almost lose the game just building it up twice against a really good team.

Very observant players will also notice you are using nemesis, and thus probably play with your food, and they will avoid pallet stunning you. Spirit fury you can bounce targets and instantly nail someone without warning. You also build it very fast with an insta-saw, especially if you predict the pallet throws correctly.

I would use it on like myers, because he can get benefits from the speed from better stalking as well. But on bubba specifically I think spirit fury is the way to go.

It won’t happen every time but I just played my first game today and managed to get stunned, build 3 stacks on lvl 1 PWYF then ran to a gen down 2 survivors with one chainsaw loosing 1 stack.

You don't have to kill so much time each time artificially building stacks. Like I said, PWYF bubba can't really be looped. When your riding someone's ass at a pallet, they either drop the pallet or get sawed. While you break each pallet... you'll naturally be gaining a stack while also creating giant deadzones very quickly.

You don't need 3 stacks to be dangerous. Even just 1 stack is gonna put someone in that situation of drop the pallet or get sawed. Very few ppl will CHOOSE the saw over the pallet.

I got PWYF and the difference is insane, I’m getting 4ks more now. No stopping the bubba train!

Slugging is appropriate with most killers. What I do is if I down a survivor and I see another survivor nearby I'll leave the downed survivor and go after the other survivor.

I can only play HillBilly and Leatherface at red ranks, I use the same build on both of them. BBQ & Chilli, Whispers, Nurses, Infectious freight (I use pop or play with your food instead of infectious on Bubba).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1002789#Comment_1002789

    Thank you.

Thank you! I just got bubba so I don’t have PWYF on him yet but I’ve heard of how good it can be on him. Right now since he’s a baby I’m running Pop, Overcharge, BBQ & Thrilling Tremors. But the past few games I’ve had to Slug to maintain pressure and force a survivor out of hiding

In my opinion, Killers like Oni, Michael Myers, Huntress and Trapper can do really well & capitalize off Slugging

Thank you! I do tend to Slug with Oni and Myers (while in their 3). What about someone like ‘New’ Doctor? Also what perks would be more effective if you plan on utilizing slugging in your strategy?

  • @Nutty_Professor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/120986/slugging

I say this as a survivor main you can do anything you like as the killer, your role is to try and kill the four survivors. It's not your responsibility to provide the survivors with a fun game, it's the survivors responsibility to provide themselves with a fun game. If you believe you need to provide a fun game for the survivors, ask yourself this do the survivors care about your enjoyment?

Don't be afraid to slug it's a very good strategy to provide pressure on the survivors. How I see it is if the survivors allow themselves to get slugged then it's due to the survivors incompetence

I’m really mainly killer, at least I have them all. I’ve been playing survivor more lately with the rift. But I like both sides. My discussion is really about Strategies/builds and even killers who slugging is more appropriate with.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

I have actually requested this a few times myself and am glad to see the change. There was really nothing else it could be. While it is sad this change does not come with the crucial base game changes I also requested, getting this implemented asap is better than waiting. Maybe Ruin change is sign of future map changes. Seeing the devs fix a problem gives me hope for this game, how about you?

I think it’s a step in the right direction myself, I never really used ruin except on Hag. But I’m excited to see map changes moving forward.

  • @Rivyn said:

Ruin is gone. Maps are the size of California. I don't use Nurse/Spirit/Billy. I play Trapper, Plague, and Wrait, so this can go for most M1 killers. We don't have a way to really slow the game down unless the survivor groups are complete potatoes, so slugging is indeed acceptable. It makes the survivors drop their gens to help.

Now, slugging all four and letting them die on the ground? That is unacceptable.

No I would never slug & let them die on the floor i will always pick them up if a teammate doesn’t beat me to it

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/120595/question-on-when-to-slug

Had a similar discussion recently where I asked when it's appropriate to slug. The general consensus is whenever it feels like it would benefit you, with the only form considered BM is when you slug with the intention of making someone bleedout.

Sidenote... If ya need advice on Bubba... Lemme know.

Oh I would appreciate advice on him, I’m rank 8 right now and got my first merciless with him using 3 level 1 perks and got called out for camping and tunneling with an endgame score of 30,780. Do you think it’s a better way of applying pressure to slug?

  • @ReallyBigShoe said:

I will answer your question with a question.

Do you think looping is acceptable?

Yes I do, how else do you fight against something that speeds up the longer it chases you, also some background I’ve been to rank 2 killer 1 survivor, but I like staying in purple now for less stressful games. It seems super competitive at red

Dark devotion is like one of the worst perks on killer wdym.

Your kidding right? It’s amazing since the fix, it gives any killer undetectable after hitting while your terror Radius is stuck on the obsession, things like distressing stick to the obsession like I said ‘underrated’ try it on Hag or Myers it’s deadly if you pay attention to it.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

For me it would definitely be Dark Devotion! And I would change it to be a direct Adrenaline counter!

The display of your Powers creates a whirlwind of panic that spreads throughout the land.

Once the exit gates are powered, 2/3/4 survivors enter the deep wound state and are put on a 15 second time in which they have to mend themselves before being put into the dying state.

Dark Devotion is extremely good right now highly underrated. Don’t mess with DD.

Using is it on stealth killers is counter intuitive.

You use it on killers with 1 shots that can take advantage of getting close to use it. Myers just happens to be both.

Ghostface it works well with, haven’t tried it on pig but yes, on killers that can one shot. I don’t see use it on Wraith. But if you think about it. It can work well with non hooking pressure builds also. Thana works well with hitting and running. So no matter what your benefiting from the gut and strut. I even think surge could work on the proper killer with Nemesis/DD/Thana/Surge but you would have to set up the plan and be mindful of where people be hiding

  • Just hit 66 after not playing for 9 days. I want my Vial Charm!!

    I love Dark Devotion.

I pretty much stick to Dark Devotion, Infectious Fright, and Corrupt Intervention on Plague, with 4th perk being free choice. I almost NEVER remove her teachables.

It’s oh so satisfying going against non cleansers, downing the Obsession, then subsequently sneaking up on 1 or 2 other sick survivors and quickly downing them too. Nothing gets non cleansers cleansing faster than when they’re caught out with either Dark Devotion or Infectious Fright.

I’m so glad they made it give undetectable I’m trying to make a clown build with it now

  • @Cornpopers_Evan said:

Won't lie, I initially didn't like DD but I think I'll give it a second chance. What do you think are the best killers to use it on?

Any stealth killer it’s nuts, Ghostface and Myers but the real trick is using it with Nemesis

  • @Izo_Quartz said:

I think WGLF needs an in game effect too but I don't agree with making it like MoM, that would just make it even more dificult then it already is to gain tokens. It also bother me how survivors have to go out of their way to get stacks with WGLF but with BBQ killers can gain stacks natrually by just hooking survivors.

I think both the unhooking and unhooked survivor should get a 7% haste for a few seconds.

The idea that Unhooking is going out of your way? And that killers hooking is natural?

  • I have been having a super fun time with the Archives, almost level 60 in the rift with no purchased tiers. I also like a challenge which is why I’m about 60% done with tome III. Thanksgiving was great, turkey and loads of trials. I’m excited to reach 70 for that vial!!

  • Okay that helps thank you kindly!

On another note, The challenge Iridescent Age is only unlocking one emblem at a time even though I get 3-4. Is that suppose to be the case?

Its acting like the Trial challenge did

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You won't lose progress. The progress will be the same. If you've got progress done and it ends up being the required amount (or more) those challenges will be marked as completed and you can collect your rewards like normal.

More details can be found by clicking the hyperlink in the green box above the Cursed Legacy trailer.

Okay I'm on my phone so trying to click that is difficult for some reason. I've already unlocked the Epilogue III and received rewards will that effect it do you know?

  • Not showing on Consoles yet, 12:55 PM Pacific

  • Green keys with amber and beads OP, always knowing where the killer is till I find a useful item.

When you're learning, it's helpful to take perks that slow down and extend the game, because you're going to be learning her 3 to 5 minutes at a time. If you're stupid like me and waited until you were already at red ranks to start learning, it's going to be super painful.

In chases, identify the type of survivor right away. Survivors typically either panic and run aimlessly, bait an over-blink and double back, or bait an under-blink and provoke a missed lunge.

Pay attention to where to the survivor is looking. Do not fully charge a blink when the survivor is looking right at you. You'll blink past them 90% of the time.

Because of the change to her reappearance animation, survivors can get out of lunge range before you can initiate your lunge if they react quick enough. You can blink correctly and still get "outplayed". Survivors often try to bait out premature lunges this way. Blink, confirm the distance and do a corrective blink if needed, then lunge.

You're going to need to almost look at the sky to quickly blink through jungle gyms, shack, cars, etc. Dedicated servers are what they are. Have to adjust. Look up to increase distance and look down if you suddenly realize you need to decrease distance.

Line of sight breaks are really tough. Good rule of thumb: blink to the last corner they turned. This also goes back to paying attention to where the survivor is looking. If they're looking at you, you can fake like you are anticipating that they won't double back on you (they are watching you aim) and flick at the last second to where they'll double back to.

I could go on for a while. Nurse is the deepest killer from a mechanical standpoint. Just don't overperform. We can't take a longer cooldown.

Wow that's a lot to pay attention to but I will try, I'm rank 5 Killer right now so its pretty tough. but thank you

  • @akbays35 said:

Nurse still requires heavy mechanics to be effective. You have to get the blink locations down and practice the distances, and have your next blink charged in mind, you have to predict survivor movement and blink on top of them or cut them off. If you're learning Nurse get her brown add on that shows the blink location to get a feel of where the blink is. Then play her with no add ons just to get a feel for her power then you can tweak and experiment.

Thank you, yeah the Plaid add on has been helping I will have to play with no add ons. I appreciate it

  • @hiC said:

I really like playing Vroom Vroom nurse.

Use the add on that takes away blink and increases speed to 4.6 m/s. Second add on can be whatever but I like the one that makes survivors scream when you blink past.

Perks are just standard meta nurse perks from before; Sloppy, Ruin, BBQ, Nurse’s Calling.

Thanks I will have to give it a try!

  • Survivors should be allowed to pull Freddy out of the Dream realm and mori him

Survivors should be able to acquire a vile of Cleansing fluid to "holy water" the plague curing her and turning her into a survivor.

Survivors should be able to "exorcise" Spirit, Granting 100,000 BP and Devotion 6.

Survivors should be allowed to Mock the Clowns poor jokes.

Survivors should be allowed to join "The Legion" turning into Killers for the remainder of the trial.

Survivors should be allowed to become understudies to the Doctor learning new perks each trial.

Survivors should be allowed call the police.

Survivors should be allowed to have cell phones.

  • @Sluzzy said:

The cooldown puts a hard cap on her potential. You're better off learning Spirit. She is a lot easier to learn and gives similar results. Her add-ons are also miles ahead of nurses.

I don't like spirit. when I play survivor I see a lot of her. Really I think spirit is an easy killer that doesn't take a lot of difficulty to play. I prefer mid/low tier killers. Nurse being the exception.

  • It depends on the Plague build really, She has add-ons that give her corrupt when a Gen is finished easily allowing her to snowball. A lot of it is about identifying the Killer build and countering to survive. whatever you do enjoy the game and try not to let Toxic players get to you. you'll just keep getting better :)

  • It's been happening to me as well, I just think its salty players. I played a Clown game the other night and a Nea ran up to me looking at the new skin I imagine, so I hit her, chased, hooked, then went elsewhere. after she got unhooked I head back to the area I see a Kate running and go after her to be body blocked by the Nea whos injured, so I'm like okay dummy, hit + hook. She DC's then after game is waiting in chat to say I tunneled her...

    Okay Nea, Okay..

  • I play both sides 50/50. also I main Myers mainly when I do play killer. Trapper is a good third after clown, also plague. .. .. Wait and Doctor. and Freddy. I don't see these issues at red ranks or purple, are you in greens?

  • I've gotten better at predictions survivors will make, getting through Purple ranks did that.

I could improve more on closing the chase sooner

And my medkit is gone. Well why is this still an ultra rare add-on?

Can't the heal time be reduced by healing speed up items?
