Even if you go stealth UE is just bad perk

It's understandable that other options can be considered, but I would not go as far as saying that UE is a bad perk. It changed the game in a positive way for me plenty of times.

The ability to literally play Ring a Ring o' Roses around something like a tree with the killer without him seeing you can change the course of the game sometimes. Maybe I get to finish that gen that wins the round, where otherwise I would've gotten into a chase.

Sure it's situational, but certainly not a bad perk by any means. I'd call Calm Spirit worse than UE except maybe against Doctor.

  • Yep. And it's all the more irritating when it works most of the time but then just randomly completely fails you.

I love dead hard for all it ever did for me, but goddamn please fix it.

Made me look like I just flew in from Stupid Town plenty of times by now.

  • You will stop once you realize that you can play this game in different ways which require different perk setups where UE just has no place.

Had the same "problem". Problem in quotation. I just like the stealthy gameplay.

  • Players have time to check the player profile

I don't find that negative. I like checking out profiles. I put some time into my own and some people got really nice ones. If you are a good player then why would I leave when I can learn something?

And I've also played with plenty of folks who had not even one hour in the game. Best bet is to let them do their thing, let them make their mistakes, save them a couple a times but ultimately aim for the hatch, as you know it's coming.

When I see premades and I'm in no mood for it I can dodge it. That's fantastic.

Plus I've seen so so many profiles with one or multiple vac bans. What's up with that actually?

It's like every 12 year old cyka blyat rush B no flash no stop who has ever gotten a vac ban is playing dbd.

I've learned that best thing to do about playing solo's is trying to get as many points as possible. When I play solo I just sit on a gen until the killer comes and then I run him for however long I can. Best thing to do is stop worrying about surviving.

I cringe whenever another survivor can't loop for longer than 10 seconds though.

Yea when I play survivor I don't aim to escape every game either. It's more about the points and the fun you've had getting them. You can still pip when you die.

As killer I don't have to have a 4k every game either. 2 is plenty, 3 is good and 4 is just that cherry on top.

Some people are playing this game with a way too competitive mindset which not only causes them alot of stress and anger, but makes the game rather boring too.

If you want to be competitive then go play a competitive game.

  • Yea good meme.

Spirit is actually a figure from Japanese Folklore where she is called "yūrei".

Plenty to read up on this available.

killer: *gets 4ks almost every game they play*

also killer when they lose 1 game: “hrismfkemflp jesus this game is so survivor sided omg!!! Nerf!!!”

It's funny when I 4k a few games in a row and then completely lose one round and get the obligatory "######### killer" "noob" treatment from the survivors.

    We get it, you're hardcore.

  • It happens with everything you invest time into and want to get better.

It's a natural thing and a sign that you're actually learning. Give it some time and you'll see, eventually you'll be back stronger than before.

  • I play both Survivor and Killer. Bubba is my Killer Main and I gotta say I'm pretty damn decent with that chainsaw. Also got over a hundred hours on this guy.

Lately I don't get that much hate, which is surprising. Just ggz and that's it.

Used to be alot different. No matter how I played I was always a camper, tunneler, slugger, ect.

Gotta admit tho, here and there just for the lulz I rev up my insidious noed basement Bubba to farm that sweet fan mail.

I think people don't like it when they think they can make you bump into things with your chainsaw, but then you don't and end up downing 2 people in 1 go.

Reminds me of one match I've had where I downed all 4 in the first minute of play. Fastest match of my life. Nobody in this game can kill faster than bubba when the conditions are right.

Many dc's were had. I also think it is because everyone says Bubba is a low tier killer, on every tier list he is very low and people think they will have an easy time. Not many people play him either so they think they can ######### on you but if you're good you can ######### on them unlike any other killer in the game.

    Bubba is Legend
    Bubba.jpg
  • Yea I refer to it as Fan Mail.

I farm them. The saltier the better. Hundrets of people out there wish I would die a horrible death and my whole family gets butchered by Bubba.

Kind of warms my heart on those cool winter days.

Someone out there right now is thinking about me very intensly.

  • Idealy you do the gens around the basement first. If all the final gens are around the basement, which is often at the shack you want that pallet for basement saves.

The longer you can hold it the better, but it's stupid to throw the game just to keep it around, it's there to be used afterall.

Seen plenty of people throw this pallet early in the game for no reason, maybe even taking a hit while wasting it. When they end up in the basement too I often don't even bother saving them unless it is absolutely clear that it will be a safe unhook.

It pretty much comes down to understanding the value of the pallet that makes you realize when you should use it and when you should save it.

Basement hooks are pretty much the worst thing that can happen to your team as it almost always involves a trade. And if you don't have a pallet to trade you trade with one or even two health states. Depending on the situation this can make or break the game.

Also depends on rank I guess. If it's a potatoe killer then stun him with it and t-bag to assert dominance.

  • @Terratoast said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/843837#Comment_843837

I find that the people who t-bag are also the most likely ones to get really salty in the post-game when they get camped or tunneled.

Assuming they don't immediately rage DC when they get caught.

Yea well there are all kinds of people.

I t-bag for fun and when I realize it tilts the killer I do it all the more as it often leads to an advantage when he can't think straight. It's not my fault people get triggered over an animation of a pixelated image on their computermonitor.

Get real or die trying I guess.

When I play killer and people start t-bagging on me I just laugh. Idk it just looks funny as hell to me and I see no reason to get offended over that. It's not a competetive game like Counter Strike. I've played years of counter strike and what it taught me is, that if you want to win you have to stay calm. If you can't control your emotion its definitely not the fault of either the game or the other people, it's more than likely an issue that you are having with yourself.

So on the other hand, if my "toxic" behavior moves exactly those people to turn off the game and go get their lifes sorted out, all the better to me.

Unfortunately this is far to accurate, not only can it aggravate the killer, it can also slow down the progress of other survivors fixing gens if they have to heal or rescue them, that is if they don’t quit and lower the chances of escape even more. Just makes everything not fun when one player is toxic killer or survivor

it can also slow down the progress of other survivors fixing gens if they have to heal or rescue them

    But that's just wrong think.

You don't have to heal or rescue anybody. There is always one guy who is being chased while the rest does gens. The guy who is chased will eventually be downed, you can't loop forever except when the killer is a potato. But you don't have to get him, there is no rule that says you must save everybody. I let plenty of people die on hook when I know that rescuing them would result in a 4k more likely than not. No worth in saving what is already dead.

If the survivor is a top tier looper and he t-bags, then what is the damage? He is buying time no matter what. If he is a trash tier looper he will get downed quickly whether he t-bags or not.

    No thanks.

Some people find this game frustrating and somewhat stressful. Especially casual DBD players. Some players may find it a breeze. But I don't judge people and insult them on account of those factors.

Yes. This is simply a game, that's why I don't believe in getting overly stressed with it. But I personally find that the gameplay can be frustrating. Hence I'm happy to take a break now and again, to concentrate on far more important things.

I have no issues, and I don't have bars on my avatar either.

But thanks again for your input. Nothing but love.

May or may not be frustrating, however you take it.

Just thinking to myself, if it takes this little to frustrate you, something else might be wrong, that's why I've offered my help. Sometimes you just need someone to talk to.

Ironically, you just admitted to how easy those challenges are. Yes, you ARE going to end up earning 200,000 bloodpoints. You would have the stop playing altogether in order to avoid that. And yes, you will get 20 gold+ emblems. Both will be done just by simply playing around 8 to 12 games. Then problem here is that you're so impatient that you want them done immediately even though you have 2 weeks between tomes. Learn to put some effort in. The dead times between tomes is more annoying than having to play more than 2 games to finish a challenge.

If I NEED to get chased because of potatoe mates who can't distract the killer long enough (which is the case in 80% of my matches) I do it. I teabag, click spam and taunt with emotes as much as possible. It's the only possibility to win the match. Smart killers avoid me and win the match, other killers take the bait and completely lose (not often but quite a lot of the times). This is something mandatory in solo Q at this point. Red ranks gets quickly flooded with potatoes, so you have to carry the whole time. Legit the team stands and falls by my choices every time. I just do 1 mistake and the killer snowballs the bullshit out of my mates. As long as I stand and get chased my team has realistic chance to escape.

This tome is extremely boring and grindy

I have played many grindy games

    Something doesn't add up here.

These challenges basically do themselves. Maybe that's what you're saying.

True, they aren't much of a challenge and the reward is marginal. But better than nothing, right?

To put it in the words of Saint Mathieu Cote: Maybe go play a different game.

  • No problem buddy, you seem to have some issues there. DM me if you need private counseling.

  • I t-bag the ######### out of killers as often as possible.

Gotta love the tilt and the fanmail I get. It's really just your fault for getting tilted because somebody is pressing his ctrl key repeatedly. The fact that so many people are so touchy makes it a viable strategy too. That's the real mindgame. Tilt them until they can't think straight anymore. No ######### given.

All I'm saying is and it seems odd the side that should feel pressured, the survivors, literally get to do what you just said. Sit and watch the clouds pass by while they hold a button fixing a generator.

What else would they be doing? We've been asking for more objectives for a long time now.

But at some point the survivor will get away from you. You can always only chase one guy and good teams will obviously rotate who is getting chased and which gens are done if you let them.

If you'd turn it all around we'd have the same discussion, only that the thread would revolve around survivors being a joke. Weirdly tho I see solid gameplay from both survivors and killers in top ranks.

Do you understand that gameplaywise it's not possible to have it the otherway around?

It was the same in Friday13th Game where they actually had more than one objective, and people could rush that too. Jason too had to be all over the map. You have to fight for your control over them, it can't be handed to you. Survivors also have to work. If they do nothing but stare at clouds as you say then they will lose against any killer who knows what they're doing.

The argument that you "just want to chill" as a killer is weird.

Again, when I as a survivor win the chase against you and you lose me then guess what? Ofcourse I'm gonna be able to do whatever I want. But what do I want? Get the hell out of here of course and so what am I going to do? Do gens and save teammates who will hopefully do gens too. If you want it so they can't do that then you're not having a game here.

  • @Viracocha72 said:

Yeah, it's constantly hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that the survivors have all the power in this game and are the ones who get to have a nice chill match. I play as killer and it's go go go from the second the match starts, constantly chasing, hitting, downing and hooking. Go find a gen to smash and repeat, not a second to stop and catch your breath. Then when my brain gets so fried from the stress I switched to Survivor and it's like a ######### stroll in the park. Take a nice leisurely little walk through the woods up to a gen and sit down and hold down a button while occasionally tapping another button. Hear that the Killer is coming and go duck behind a tree and take a crap for a minute, maybe run away and smash some pallets on his head and jump some windows. And survivors honestly wonder why Killers face camp sometimes. It's not always that they're being dicks sometimes they just want a moment to catch their ######### breath. Although admittedly I have absolutely no idea how they would change this dynamic.

    Catch Breath

    Eh.

You can't be for real here. In a game that rarely lasts over 10 minutes, time for catching breath is between the games.

The fact that the sides play so differently makes this game, and this may come as a surprise to you, more diverse. First play one, then the other. Wow, what an idea.

Are you also the type of guy who signs up for a marathon only to complain to everybody that you don't get to take a break every 5 minutes without losing the marathon?

constantly chasing, hitting, downing and hooking

Not enough time for watching clouds pass by eh? Maybe dream about playing a fishing simulator.

I'm sorry for the rant but this is probably the most ridiculous thing I've read on here so far, and the competition is pretty damn tough I'll tell ya.

I find alot of it comes down to defending areas rather than gens. Many maps have bottle necks of sorts, as well as large areas that become basicly deadzones quite easily. Azaroths resting place for example often has about 3 or 4 pallets for a large area with 4 gens situated in it. Take out those pallets...and the game is yours. Using Bubba, it quickly became borderline suicide to step foot on that half of the map that was just open area and not even a decent junglegym.

Good point to add, yes. Know your pallets, which ones you want to get rid off quickly.

When I know my 3 gens and I've cleared all pallets in spiting distance then what are you going to do? I'll gladly give them 4 gens when I can ensure they won't get the last one. And even if they do the game is not over yet.

Can agree with one thing tho, that survivor have a more chill time. I don't find that problematic tho. Quite the contrary. So I can switch from one mode to another and it stays somewhat interesting. As a killer you are always on the go, you have to analyze and outsmart 4 people at the same time. Ofcourse that is difficult to do, it should be.

Imagine you could just faceroll your way through every team.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

    like spirit for example

  • Just wait until he realizes that ruin is actually a ######### tier perk that probably works against potato teams. Everyone else just sticks to the gen and works through it.

It's waste of a perk slot. Better run Devour Hope or Haunted Ground if you really want that totem.

Otherwise Pop if you play it smart.

You have to know which 3 gens will be your "main gens", the ones you want to keep alife for as long as possible. Theoretically, if you manage to defend 3 gens the whole game it does not matter how many gens they do, they'll never get done. Of course practically it's not always that easy, but a thing to keep in mind. You have to force them into a 3 gen scenario and pop is alot better for this - provided you win chases.

You're right that it's damn easy to become the clown as killer if you play by the survivors rules.

As someone else in this thread has said, if you just hold down W without thinking you obviously are going to lose. As long as you stay predictable you are lost.

Besides that you cannot evade metagaming. There will always be "that guy" or "that perk".

And of course if you don't want to play that way you're free to do so. If you're good you can make any killer viable, but that does not mean you can win 100% of the time.

Especially not against swf, that's an exception because it essentially breaks the balance of the gameplay.

Why are you putting the blame on just killers? I’ve been in both killer and survivor matches where people DC after getting down quickly after the match starts. I’ve seen killers be sweaty all game, and run the meta only to DC once the last gen is popped. This isn’t a killer vs survivor issue, it affects both sides.

If you aren't being sarcastic, then that is the exact thought process that drives the community to extreme toxicity. Trying to secure your safety in a game by being more toxic than the next only leads to a build up of vile, poisonous people. There is a difference from being a good player and being good at the game (whilst being toxic).

If everybody were toxic then nobody would be.

It's a game of dominance. Ofcourse many people are toxic because they cannot help but let their emotions boil over. That is weak toxicity.

Strong toxicity is retaliation without emotional investment. It is like a mirror throwing back the image. Weak people are toxic because they cannot help but be toxic. By being toxic in the strong way you show dominance over the weak toxic player and thus tame him. Show him the way, show him what real toxicity is by showing him who he really is. Weak and full of emotions he cannot comprehend and that control him every single step on the way through his life.

    Retaliate. Be like a mirror.

  • You just have to become more toxic than the rest and it won't be as bad anymore.

Grab a flashlight and rev up that ctrl key, it's a long road to become the best.

I'm on the green/purple/red ranks and I rarely see this. But since rank reset I've played with a few yellow ranks that seem to have no clue what they're doing.

Honestly, I find that pipping as survivor is not complicated, you don't need to escape and once I reach the purple ranks I rarely play with potatoes.

I've been rank 5 before the reset, now I'm on 14 and it's seriously bad.

But when I was on 5 I've still had people play like potatoes, which left me wondering how the hell they ever got past green ranks.

For real tho. I almost always am the last guy alive. When 2 guys are dead I find myself constantly saving my remaining teammate only for him to run exactly in the killers direction, or barely hiding around the hook to self care while not realizing that the killer is already next to them again.

How do people find it so difficult to hide effectively, or atleast run to windows/pallets.

    1) The two examples you gave can be filed under "for gameplay reasons". There is no gameplay reason to have Rin as both Survivor and Killer.

    2) That doesn't mean Rin exists as two beings at the same time. The Entity didn't put her into a copy machine.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/842739#Comment_842739

To kinda build on it. Not all the killers were exactly horrendous people before the entity had them. 1/2 of the legions didn't even participate in the first kills through the lore. Billy just took his agression towards his parents. The plague, well she just got infected after so long and the entity just decided to grant her the power to kill.

The Spirit cursed her fathers name and the entity gave her power to take revenge and fueled her anger against her father. Until she wished for revenge, her backstory reads something similar to a survivors.

If the entity helped her in a way of bringing the anger inside of her out (just like Rin, I'm a college student working to pay rent... There is plenty of anger there) there is still a part of her that the entity either discarded or ignored, and that is the scared (I'm guessing) 20 something year old girl who had her own father murder her after a mental break.

    This.

    1) You're the one telling me lots of things don't make sense. What examples are you referring to?

    2) Why is it reasonable to assume that Rin pre-Spirit and post-Spirit exist as two separate entities that can simultaneously co-exist? The Rin from Earth is now in the Entity's realm as a malevolent spirit.

1.) I've already given some examples.

2.) Because rin changed the moment she made a pact with the entity. It's not the same person anymore. The spirit is not rin, the spirit is rins rage.

It won't happen why return to old character when you can do a new survivor like her dad or mom

Why would that not make sense if it is already reasonable to assume that there are two versions of rin - her normal self before she was killed and her rage filled self after she got killed.

It's an alternate universe afterall where practically anything could happen.

No time doesn't mean no paradoxes. :P

The rest can be explained as gameplay mechanics trumping flavor. There is no gameplay mechanic reason to make Rin a Survivor when she is already a Killer.

No time doesn't mean no paradoxes

That means rin can be both killer and survivor.

The rin that is the killer is not really rin, arguably, as all the spirit is is rage and revenge.

I see no reason why that shouldn't be the case, but at the same time I don't really care at all who the new killer and survivor will be. Doesn't matter at all to me.

Possibly but i doubt it. It wouldn't make much sense that the spirit is chasing herself around. If there's a survivor it will probably be some random person that was near the area.

How would it not make sense? There is no time in the entities realm.

Also doesn't make much sense when there are 4 billy bois in the lobby or that you suddenly become a one hit just because Myers has been looking at you for a few moments.

  • Cosmetics are what keeps this game alive.

Cosmetics are the only thing that really matters. You have to look really cool when you get sacrificed on that hook. And only the cool people disconnect because it means that you can show off your crazy cosmetics to more people per hour.

They probably also know that they would've won anyways if the killer wouldn't play like a needy [EXTREMELY BAD WORD].

I think We'll male it is a must.

I always run DS to give my team more time to do gens if I get tunneled.

Dead Hard to make the chases take a little longer and also give my team more time to do gens.

I save the fourth slot to run whatever perk I might find useful; bond, balanced landing, BT, Prove thyself, etc. It's the only slot I change every match.

give my team more time to do gens

Everytime I run bond or empathy and I loop the killer, potatoes just sit around doing absolutely jack ######### until I'm downed. What's this trend of watching chases happen only to give the killers free hits once he carries me to the hook and then go for unsafe unhooks?

Or me taking a hit for another survivor only for them to stop and stand still as if everything was alright. Bond makes you see things you wish you didn't 9 times out of 10.

Edit: If you run across the map to self care after every hit you might aswell just go afk at the start of the round. When I get chased for 2 minutes and not a single gen pops I seriously wonder what these people are doing.
