He's not complaining about his Ruin stay active all game — he noticed Ruin is useless after all the generators been completed. Therefore, he wants it to be changed into a dull totem for NOED because No One Escapes Death is more powerful than Ruin during the end game. 😁

Ruin is useless against anyone but potato teams.

Pop is miles better if you know what you're doing.

But he's running noed too so there goes that one I suppose.

  • Yea sure, why not. I could totally do with more and more killers running a win button.

  • I love following Trapper around and constantly disable all his traps.

Trapper is a cutie when he tries to kill people.

Why would you even make this thread though, they were obviously potatoes.

  • Sprint Burst and Urban Evasion/Fixated are almost always in it. Other 2 perks vary.

So I noticed they removed the ability to hit survivors on hook, but they can still be hit while being removed. This to me seems to be removing a 'bad manners' behavior from killers hands. So in fairness something needs to be done about tea bagging. A streamer mentioned an idea I like, which is a survivor has a chance to trip while teabagging. The way to implement this is to activate a percent chance after the first crouch within 1 second; increasing with each subsequent crouch after the previous within 1 second. This way if someone is getting cocky and doing a 'bad manners' behavior, they are punished for it. You can't remove crouching as its a part of gameplay, but I think something like this could at least lower the frequency of it.

    Can't be serious, right?

You're literally being thrown an advantage and you complain about it.

That being said, I regularly t-bag the ######### out of killers and I love it when it tilts them so hard they feel the need to facecamp me after, probably even getting him a depip in the process.

So you're just making ######### up to be able to contribute?

That's how you run a wonky software development studio these days.

Make big promises and cheat your way through it. It's an expensive business and without shareholders you're nobody except your name is markus persson and you win the lottery.

  • I flap when the killer is camping and do nothing when it's save.

But in my experience most people either mix it up or don't know about it at all, so to me it seems pretty unreliable unless it has been organized in the pre game chat.

I really wish people would use the pre game chat more for things like this.

Arranging strategies, announcing challenges that need to be done, ect.

How does it come that since the announcement of the optimisation "path" the performance of the game got worse? Especially the latest update and his hotfix made it performing extremely bad. Not only on pc but on consoles aswell.

Was it just a lie to keep us calm and in reality BHVR sticks to his old patterns releasing new stuff over and over without making the performance better? It really seems like that to me.

    Behaved Monkeys.JPG

  • Make the game a bully simulator for survivors again.

I just want to teabag, click my flashlight and run godloops all day without having to insta dc everytime I take a hit.

  • I don't care about pips. I have no reason to care, they do not give me anything in return.

Walked up and down the ranks by now and I hardly see any difference. There are good players in low ranks and boosted noobs in highranks. Plus there is rank reset every month.

I'd rather not care about playing a particular way just to get a pip.

Now, if they would finally add rewards for ranks then maybe I will care, maybe. And I sure as ######### don't care about cosmetics.

  • Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

Implying bhvr is able to fix anything at this point.

  • Pretty good job so far.

  • Many people have many opinions on how the game ought to be. There are many concepts out there that aren't that bad.

Many things can be changed but it is ultimately BHVR that has to come up with the endproduct.

What I would change if I were BHVR is stop bending to the whim of the players. This does not mean they should not take advice, but they should come up with a solid plan to fix the game. And at this point it would probably require a near complete rework, taking the data collected from the current situation in order to improve on it.

Many things have been brought up, from bugs and errors, balance issues, map design, progression system, endgame, ect.

To me the game as is feels more like an idea instead of an actually refined product.

It's a very nice idea, and I really really like it but it is in no doubt quite rough around the edges.

I would not propose any particular change but instead take a deeper look at all the components of the game together with the collected data, which bhvr no doubt has and which I would dearly like to see if possible, and work out a product that is consistent in its presentation.

Open up for more possibilities on how a trial can go, what kind of builds are viable.

The game meta is somewhat of an issue.

Only certain perks are really mathematically reasonable.

I say mathematically reasonable because you will inevitably have players who like to min-max and compete on the highest possible level. I am not saying take this away, but broaden the possibilities. Otherwise the experience will grow rather stale quickly.

When every killer feels he has to run Hex: Ruin then something is not quite right.

Many perks would be ok, maybe on paper, in theory but practically no. They become nieche perks rarely used because the games somehow always pan out in the same way with very minor differences between one trial and the next one.

Maybe think about a class system where one survivor can do things better than others, similar to Friday13th game.

Like I've said, there is alot that can be done and I'm not really a fan of focusing on one particular issue here rather than taking the whole experience into account.

Sooo, you do nothing the entire game but running around the map to finish 99% gens? Seems like some healthy gameplay, thank you bhvr for making solo Q less frustating.

Seems like you really want this to be negative. A negative Nancy eh?

Oh it's so bad doing the objective I have to go to the forums and shitpost all night because I have nothing better to do in my damn life.

In what game did you go from one to another 99'd gen?

Do you even know how fast the game would be over and your challenge done if that was the case?

Oh wait, you'd have nothing to cry about, right?

    What a tool.

Huntress should be disabled as well, right now you can throw hatchets through the shack. I ######### you not, try it. All you have to do is to kiss the wall and while the hatchet is in windup a little bit of it will stick through the wall and you can ez pz throw through it.

Happened to me a few hours ago.

  • @Revansith said:

Is there one for escaping through the hatch in a single trial? How many players get to escape using the hatch in a single trial as the hatch doesnt appear until you are the last survivor.

That's not true. Hatch appears when the amount of gens done is the same as the amount of survivors left +1.

So 3 survivors and 4 gens done = Hatch appears.

2 Survivors and 3 gens done.

Hatch appears when all 5 gens are done and can be accessed by all 4 survivors with a key.

  • I drop the pallet to force nurse to blink.

You can still loop her like this. There is plenty of counterplay for nurse, and there is counterplay for spirit too. Seems like a l2p issue to me.

so apparently after watching some youtube videos, myers can stalk and gain EW without actually seeing anyone. zubats newest video shows this as well. this is going to be a hot mess please disable myers until this is fixed

I saw the video too. I played some myers since then and that didn't happen to me. Idk what's going on.

    @ohheyitsbobcat said:

Pretty sure it's just the dedicated servers having issues. A few of his recent videos have been showing how bad the servers can be at times.

They are having some issues alright. The amount of times I get a hit on a fastvault at a time I really should not get hit at all is off the hook.

Rarely it works properly and the killer gets a wallhit. I know the timing and it is really frustrating getting a hit when I should not get one.

Last huntress even hit me through a wall.

  • Actually its Nea with the mini skirt skin.

  • Seems to me like swf is the problem.

I personally don't care about swf as I don't have any. The game is evidently not build around swf, there is hardly any means to communicate with others besides two emotes and the pre/post game chat.

Swf with coms entirely breaks the structure of the game.

With coms I can tell my buddies when the killer is chasing me, where he is chasing me and when he stops chasing me. This is information that you would not get otherwise outside of perks. For a good reason.

The only way to really fix this in my eyes is to make swf games completely private.

No random killers who are not part of the swf group.

If there are no coms the killer can somewhat manipulate the chase. I for example always try to lead the chase from one gen to another, that way I have information on the gens while at the same time ensuring that atleast one guy is not working on them. I can end the chase at every moment and switch targets.

It's not that big of an issue if there are no coms.

  • I am rank 7 and I get grouped with rank 20 all the time.

Last time I was in a lobby with a guy who, according to his steam profile played the game for half an hour. LvL 1 Claudette with 0 perks, didn't even know that he had to struggle on second hook and instantly died because he tried to Kobe the moment he had the chance to.

I would say that's one hecc of a pretty good job so far.

  • @AshleyWB said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/830885#Comment_830885

It's the fact that the killer will eventually get you and once you are hooked that's pretty much it. Survivors won't ever bring borrowed time like I always bring because they're too busy running urban trying not to get caught.

Tunnelling is common as is camping, I'm not complaining about that because it's a part of the game, as long as it's not really excessive. It's the lack of defense as a solo player once you are hooked. If you're lucky enough to not be camped by the killer and be unhooked before struggle then you're already at a level where swf players would normally be at.

Run Deliverance if it's that bad.

I've never had that happen to me that nobody came to unhook me.

Unhooking brings alot of points and is a major factor to get a pip.

It should be rather easy to evade the killer until someone is hooked, unhook him savely and activate Deliverance then when you need it.

  • Seems like I'm going to convert my shards into BPs this week.

The thing is we shouldn't all be forced to play like a rank 1 Survivor to play the game solo. You're obviously pretty good and you do have the benefit of playing on PC which leads to less BS hits happening.

I'm a casual player who plays mainly solo on Xbox and I take all kinds of weird perks in but being at a disadvantage is clear in so many games once I am caught by the killer for the first time.

You really only ever need an exhaustion perk. I use sprint burst. Everything else is just convenience. Urban Evasion for example, or spine chill.

Learn basic loops and take a look at your general positioning in games.

When you are caught in a bad position no perk will help you eitherway.

I've gone through so many trials where I did not even see the killer once.

You do not really have to play like a Rank 1 in solo que. Maybe your particular way of playing is what gets you into the situations you tend to get into.

If bhvr started to bend the game to everyones will we would have no game at all.

  • Consider hiring people that can actually make a decent game.

  • @altruistic said:

Solo Queue Survivor is the worst experience right now in DBD.

I shouldn’t feel the need to run every get out of jail free card, or play SWF for a chance to escape the trial.

I don’t think I am entitled to an escape. I think I deserve to be matched with better teammates.

    Bogus.

You don't have to run every "get out of jail free card" to escape in solo que. I do it often enough and I don't have any friends who play the game, so no swf for me.

I like it BECAUSE it is the way it is. No coms and nothing.

The trial is not even designed to be escapable every single time. The entire game is not built around it.

So you saying you need a jail free card to have a chance to escape is not the fault of the game, but your own playstyle. You could escape every single time if you get a key or generally wait until everyone is dead and get the hatch.

It's not the games fault that you think you always have to play it in this particular way because you believe you have to escape. Escaping is not even a win condition. You can pip without escaping, and a pip is a win.

You're making up a problem that doesn't really exist.

  • Just did the survey.

They should probably consider making a survey about that survey.

Throughout the survey I wished that at the end I could add my own notes about the game, community ect.

To many questions I answered neutrally.

But I kekked at the option

"For which killer did you buy cosmetics"

    "The Cannibal"

    Too true to be good.

Maybe devs could add a survivor perk that automaticly repair a random generator when survivor is in chase and starts after 15 sec (like bloodlust) and finished repairing a generator after 2 min ?

  • @TATAHARAMBE said:

What is wrong with devs? That's impossible for someone who plays only solo queue. Especially the one where you need to REPAIR 4 GENERATORS IN A SINGLE TRIAL in level 4 tome with a ######### perk when you could put Alert or other perk.

Hate to break it to you, but I've had multiple games where I've done 3 gens +

You're not supposed to win this immediately, you know. It's an incentive to play more trials.

    Change the line:

The killer A.I. is still in the testing phases. There are still many logic bugs and freezes with the current implementation.

    1) The killer A.I. freezes after hooking a survivor and only moves again when another survivor tries to unhook or is sacrificed.

    2) If the survivor is rescued from the hook the A.I. will only chase after the injured unhooked survivor.

The same bugs pop up while testing different machine learning methods.

Hopeful soon™ we will be able to test this out on a PTB build. Once all these bugs are patched ofcourse.

Even artificial intelligence knows that facecamping and tunneling are the only reasonable way to play the game.

And I agree, a competitive mode in DBD is a big thing that I think needs to be implemented into the game.

It would not only make a safer environment for casual survivor players, but also create an environment for the competitive player to do just that; compete.

I see you're point about behavior not doing much and how to run their game and as I said I agree a lot, but you gotta think after mid-chapter patch they only have a month and a half, not even, to come up with balance changes, quality of life changes, and putting the finishing touches on the newest killer about to release on the PTB.

I would have no problem with them holding off on releasing anything before the current situation isn't solved properly. Which will not happen as, as I've said, bhvr has no clear vision of how their game is even supposed to be.
