Then I hope your floor is flooded with tears by the end of today 😂 I'm hoping for the Rusty Shackles and Mint Rag nerf, anything else is a bonus.

Just don't accidentally create a new bullshit add-on please..

I am fine with them touching Mint rag and Rusty Shackles, no problem for me but I need those faster trapping time and the longer teleport distance add-ons. I will only cry if they get nerfed!

  • @CashelP14 said:

Hatch/key changes are my favourite but really like everything this patch has done.

Close second is the Hag add-on changes (that I'm expecting to be a nerf).

I wanna find out what they have done to my Haggo so bad! She is my main now and if her necklace or cicada is changed for the worse I am gunna cry!

  • @ShinobuSK said:

It should be out in 4 hours? And dunno about favorite part since they havent shown full patch notes yet

cool, do you have a fav part from the Dev notes yet?

Probably the trapper buff and billy add on changes

yeah it will be nice not having to scan my bloodweb for bags every trapper web!

Besides an offline bot mode would it be feasible to give survivors some differences so they aren't just palette swaps?

Claudette getting a healing bonus, meg can run faster, lin can fix gens quicker, Jeff can stun killers longer with pallets, tapp can clean totems faster etc. something small like a 4% bonus

Faster sabotage regeneration faster ,broken status after unhooking the possibilities are there to change the game for survivors.

For balancing you can lower another stat for that survivor.

Who is "Lin"? This would be appalling for balancing. Not only is this game not very balanced and constantly slipping in and out of "balance" every patch/new chapter. You now want BHVR to balance each perk against 27 different survivors and all the other perks. So each chapter release there will be 81 new balances to look at not including looking at perks that survivor could use to buff their base abilities... It is a good idea in theory but a bad idea in practice if you ask me.

  • I would say to wait a little bit. Lots of people have been complaining about Disconnecting bugs some even have disconnect issues and have had to wait out a penalty. Hopefully BHVR will fix their ######### then people will buy Pin Head. Rather that then buying it and unable to play it because you are sat with an hour DC penalty for games you "Disconnected from Host" from

  • I think the news isn't that deep to read into. We are losing the chapter almost definitely due to Netflix starting their own game studio. Much like Demo and Hopper haven't been in the Fortnite item shop since 6th of November 2019. Epic probably don't have the licence still.

As far as I'm aware there'll be no refund for offerings, same as well previous ones were retired.

will they stay in our inventories or will they be removed (like the moonlight bouquet)

  • @Kees_T said:

I've seen this before, it only happens if DBD is minimized, and after you re-open it, it accelerates all the visuals animations.

For example, in all perks and offerings, there's a little "fog" effect under the perk. It's not accurate but if you minimize your game for like 25 seconds, then open it again, the fog will speed up like crazy.

It looked hilarious. I didn't minimise but I did put my computer to sleep so that is probably why I assume!

More than half the time people aren't using it properly. He is saying using it for distance is broken, because it is.

Enlighten me then, how do you "use it properly" is that the thing where you press e to avoid a hit and end up on the ground because of hit validation? Dead hard worked when it was peer to peer, it broke with servers and broke even more with "hit validation" the exhausted on the ground happens then "hit validation kicks in" and I am no longer exhausted but I am still on the ground. The game knows I shouldn't be exhausted because I got hit mid dead hard so I shouldn't have gone down but the hit validation favours the killers and as such the game says the dead hard didn't happen even though on my screen it did.

What would be the point of that? Sure it would be nice to see what perks everyone else has, but what does it matter if say no one has an obsession perk including the killer? The point of this idea was for solo queueing survivors to be able to coordinate their perks more effectively with other solo queueing players. The only plus I see coming from this is that you can tell if someone has good perks, but the same can be said if they have bad ones.

Knowing people's perks before hand will only lead to lobby dodging, most survivors are tabbed out, if you want to try and coordinate you can message people in the lobby chat, but even then chances are they will ignore it. I know personally I would want to dodge self-care users seeing as all they tend to do is to touch their own buttholes in the corner when I could heal them 4 times as quick with Autodidact however they all seem adamant on touching their own butt and never letting me heal them under the hook even though the chances are I will get a skill check and heal them in 10 seconds. Plus they end up not giving me stacks to help the team later and they can never seem to do anything injured it is like they are allergic to doing anything helpful while injured.

So i need 2 or 3 perks to go aganst 1 killer? Oh yeah i dont have those perks

Oh oops i actually have spine chill

Pretty much, my only other advice is if you are on a map with grass watch the grass to see where she is. If you have iron will and she doesn't have stridor (or you aren't injured) the best thing you can do is start running one way preferably towards a window then walk back on your own scratch marks, she will think you have vaulted the window and walk or vault around while you are walking away from her getting distance.

  • @hardtimefun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1861255#Comment_1861255

I did read something about it long ago and it was like around 200% +/- for 1 second or so

It is 250% speed for 0.2 seconds and 200% speed for 0.8 seconds the total animation being 1 second. Dead hard has been nerfed a lot. You used to be able to use it without pressing shift, basically you could dead hard to go from completely still to dashing away, now you have to be running to use it. You also used to be able to use it in mid air (leading to survivors using it to reach places they shouldn't be able to (jumping hedges on haddonfield from the tops of buildings, also jumping onto the mini-basement building roof on haddonfield) you could also use it immediately after falling to negate your stagger from the fall as well. Not to mention you used to be able to slowly lose exhaustion when running, it was faster when walking, even faster when crouching/staying still. Now it is just e to die or e to maybe get me to another loop provided I am not in a deadzone. Even then if you dead hard to a window chances are you will get hit through the window 😅

  • A normal spirit? Don't get injured and just walk away from her when she phases, or use Iron will then simply walk away from her when she is phasing. Also spine chill helps.

A Stridor spirit, you are going to need No mither and Iron will, again spine chill will help but Stridor spirits are a huge issue imo.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

More than half the time the perk doesn't work and you're complaining about it?

Yeah they are literally complaining about the only valid use of the perk, with hit validation now I always get hit at the end of my dead hard if I use it to avoid a hit. They even openly put in their post that they don't "fall for the run into me dead hard" the only other dead hards are the "get distance to a loop you wouldn't have made" dead hard or the "exhausted on the ground" dead hard.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

I can see them not doing this for the same reasons they removed visible ranks. Lobby dodges because they don't approve of the build.

Yeah, I hate this idea. As solo survivor I take empathy, autodidact, solidarity and (exhaustion perk of my choice, whatever I am feeling that day) however loads of people will dodge me because my build has a max of 1 meta perk. Maybe if you could see someone's build by pressing the ESC/options button when in the actual game it would be a good idea but in a lobby is a big no no for me.

  • @hardtimefun said:

reaching a pallet or window you shouldn't have reached, fixing a error you made and make you reach the pallet because you are too greedy, i don't fall for the run into me dead hard, i talk about those who use it to get distance they shouldn't get and reach a loop they don't deserve to run into

Bloodlusting around a pallet after making the mistake of not breaking it shouldn't exist either but here we are. DH to avoid hits literally never works the only use for the perk now-a-days is to get distance to the next window or pallet. Simply wait out the dead hard, they might make it around a loop one more time but that is about it really. At t and l walls you can predict they are going to do it and mindgame it, or most loops you can take the long road and catch up with them swinging it down. Whilst I get that it is fraustrating, dead hard when used not for distance isn't dead hard it is just dead 90% of the time. I would argue sprint burst is much more reliable then dead hard and I imagine will be used more now with the fixated buff) simply wait out the dead hard, sure they might get one extra loop but chances are if you predict they are going to do it you can cut them off to the next jungle gym.

    A. stealth killers wont work we all know there location is gonna be gps tracked by the swf you will likely face in 1/3 of your games.

    B. Your perk will be destroyed the minute you commit to a chase no amount of defenses is gonna stop that once the team has pinned its position. It only take one after all.

    C. Taking time off protecting totems is time squandered not pressuring gens. Which is a terrible trade as long term there generating more progress.

Ruin consistently performs because it almost guarrantees generating some value. Getting an instadown which is the objective can be achieved with perks that require way less investment and risks.

It is almost guaranteed that your totem will spawn within a three gen that you could just patrol. There is a reason NOED is used by loads of killers that cannot consistently perform well, and even with NOED on the cards survivors at high ranks are still not cleansing or actively look for totems, they only tend to cleanse them when they really need to or if they stumble upon a lit totem then they will cleanse it. NOED can literally turn a 0k into a 4k slugging fest simply because of easy M1 instant downs. That is what Devour hope can turn out to be and when there is double the amount of totems needed to cleanse the perk stays active even longer. Once proced you could literally just slug and camp your totem to get a cheap ez 4k, which is what I feel ruin/undying/tinkerer was.

  • @Zarathos said:

Looks at behaviors patch history overall. Wait this game has a huge survivor bias

Behavior pulls out nerf gun always has been.

No news on keys, no news on ds, no survivor nerf at all of recently but killers have eaten 3 hard nerf over the last few patches one of which awas a prolonged buggy patch that broke half of the rooster.

    Pop nerf

    Mori nerf

    Undying nerf.

These were deserved but again wheres the damn ds nerfs and key nerfs these have been a problem far longer and they have chosen to exaspeate the issues with soul guard and the recent offering changes. Poor show.

I agree killers have taken a beating, DS was reworked once already and I feel it needs to be reworked again, I have put forward suggestions for a DS nerf and I feel it should be made into a true anti-tunnel perk. If you are downed off hook it stays active until you are picked up (and you can stun the killer) or another survivor picks you up and deactivates when another survivor is hooked. If you touch a gen it deactivates and if you get in a locker it deactivates after 8 seconds (meaning you can still use inner strength if you are being chased to try and heal) This means that killers can no longer tunnel but you don't get 60 seconds of invincibility including if a killer hooks someone else then you go and farm to get the DS stun off.

Survivors have also taken a load of nerfs, hit validation is very killer sided, the amount of window hits I get from lunge attacking when the survivor is already basically through the window, or lunges through pallets where I get stunned but I still get the hit on the survivor. Not to mention the survivor heal nerfs. Not to mention balanced landing, exhaustion changes, double pallet removal and infinites. Killers complained about double pallets so bloodlust was put into the game, then when they were removed and so were infinites bloodlust "should" have been removed but it wasn't and when the Devs tested it the killer mains complained to no end. From my experience playing since early 2017 it goes in cycles were a bout of survivor nerfs happen, then a bout of killer nerfs happen then it goes back to survivor nerfs. Moris needed a nerf, keys need a rework (perhaps only let one survivor escape and only if they have met certain requirements) or perhaps keys can only be used to reopen the hatch after it has been closed.

The sad thing is the game will never truly be balanced. in my opinion I believe that solo survivors need to be buffed to SWF level so that killers can then be buffed without the excuse of (like the ruin/undying nerf will be justified with) it is hard to counter as a solo queuer. The new HUD is a huge step for solo q. I hope they implement a totem counter (even if it is built into a perk maybe add it to kindered seeing as it is taken by most solo survivors anyway. I want killers to be buffed especially piggy (I switched to hag after the surveillence nerf) but I fear that won't happen until solo q are on a near equal footing to SWF, I also hope that the buffs to solo survivors only give information that is already known to SWF so do not unintentionally buff them too.

im sorry when has it ever been hard to find 2 totems besides a few spots on certain maps.

What its not a forever freddy if he just has the add ons. The point is (and i agree its nonesense) is to win the attrition game you need more reliable tools if you want to be consistent.

I dont give a damn about if hag (naturally good totem defender) can pull it off i want to know if doc, piggy, legion billy any killer who dosent jave these kind of luxury can get value from the perk. If all your getting is an insta down on m1s then just run make your choice or dragons grip.

As I said it will be good on high mobility killers (the ones that ruin/undying were good on) the killers that can naturally patrol totems/gens. It is a big build for trapper and hag. Will be good for nurse, blight, Freddy, Demogorgon, Billy, twins, legion, (Oni when in his power is high mobility) (Stealth killers can protect totems in stealth) doc can shock off of totems.

  • That is a fraustrating spawn but not all totems are like that and I am sure the Devs probably moved it with the new crotus rework/changes we can only hope. Having said that I raise you this totem

    unknown-2.png

Also the totem spawns in dead dawg saloon that are literally covered completely by bushes. The totems in lerys that are in bins that you can only see from one angle. The only reason I "saw" the totem above was because I heard the crackling and there was no fire barrels nearby plus I was looking for it as I knew there was ruin undying as I was playing duos with a friend. The problem with Devour at the moment is that it lets survivors know as soon as you get 3 stacks and they drop everything to find the totem. Undying prevents that from happening straight away and you are given more time to both hook more people with instant downs and when 1 totem is gone you simply patrol the other totem. For your easy downs. This way a SWF can't cleanse your DH while you are carrying a survivor to a hook as you will have effectivly two DH totems.

  • @Zarathos said:

This isnt going to work. They will find the totem before you get any value still. You will need some kind of awkward totem spawn map to get this to work.

Dh isnt used for a reason. It a meme perk that has zero competitive value. Your totem will be found and broken twice by accident yes the totem spawns are that bad. If you want ill run 10 survivor games and show you the still terrible spawns.

Your forever freddy build dosent have a single stall perk are you insane. This all seems like dream land the idea youd actually benefit from dh is insane. Your gonna get gen rushed. But hey if you can nail out 20 games of a dh win streaks ill withdraw my statement.

As Hag I 100% could but the fact of the matter is I don't need to or want to because I prefer getting my quad iri matches rather then kill the survivors before 3 gens have been done. With DH/Undying not losing stacks I could 100% get 20 games with 4ks getting at least 1 instant down with DH on all games and probably even a fair amount of Moris with it. The forever Freddy just needs his forever Freddy add-ons with the load out I was talking about.

  • @RepostRiposte said:

Wow, now survivors have to find a grand total of 2 giant glowing totems to completely remove half of your perks

    Truly incredible

While you have easy instant downs. Sure this won't work for lower rank survivors but all red ranks do now a days is gen rush. Devs have been hiding totems better and survivors generally won't look for totems unless they know you have a hex, by the time DH procs it is too late.

  • @ukenicky said:

I'm expecting Devour Hope, Thrill of the Hunt and Undying to be a nasty trio.

Devour Hope wins games at 3+ y'all sleepin' on it.

Ruin + Undying = preventing survivors from getting the gens done

Devour Hope + Undying = kill all the survivors before they can get all the gens done

Exactly my point. Killers "slept on it" because it could be countered so easily by cleansing 1 totem, now it won't be counted by cleansing 1 totems but cleansing two, and at high ranks as long as you don't use another hex perk (TOTH could help but I think it will work better without survivor knowing you have a hex) survivors will just gen rush instead of looking for totems so you can get your 3 hooks (which isn't that hard with Pop) and then get your instant downs two instant downs later and you can start mori-ing away the survivor. I do hope keys will be change which is where I definitely side with killers although keys are pretty easily countered as Hag if they are used in the lobby (just trap the key with Franklin's)

  • @chieften333 said:

Now survivors will complain about devour hope until it's nerfed. They always manage to find something to hate and endlessly complain about, even if it's clown.

As someone that plays both sides (at rank 1 not that ranks mater, with over 3000 hours in game) the only thing I have noticed is the entire community complain about everything. I made this post in hopes it would show that while Undying has been changed it doesn't necessarily mean a "Massive Nerf" as the killer mains are spouting, the meta will simply change with it. I expect DH/Undying to replace Undying/Ruin.

  • Technically the Open-handed was a shadow nerf to non meta builds SWFs (you know the ones that don't always have at least 1 ds 1 unbreakable 2 borrowed time ect). Before you could stack open handed in a 4 man swf with bond and see all survivors within 68 meters range. Now it doesn't stack so the max you can get is 16 meters (making the bond SWF 52m instead although opens three perk slots I guess) or worse the kindred open handed SWF that could see the killer up to 48 meters away from the hook when someone is hooked, that is more than the default bond radius now which is only 32 meters...

Having said that open handed is still the WORST PERK IN THE GAME (killer and survivor perks included), I believe other than vigil it is the only other perk in the game that requires another perk to use it. That means if you take open handed and none of your teammates have an aura reading perk it is literally useless. Making it only good (I say good in the loosest terms here) for SWF or paired with other perks as a solo (and then there are so many better solo survivor perks than one that needs 2 perk slots to actually do anything.

I am pretty happy with the changes although. Having said that I do main Hag so I never used tinkerer/undying/ruin (I use Corrupt, Pop, STBFL, Monitor or swap out Monitor to Franklin's if there is a beamer.) It is a MASSIVE buff to Devour Hope and I expect to see that become meta, when you have to find two totems with exposed. If survivors are not looking for totems they are likely to gen rush at high ranks giving you enough time to get your 3 stacks and the time it takes to find one lit totem you can get another stack and patrol the last totem for an easy win. Especially if you pair this with BBQ on a killer with mobility (a massive buff to Freddy in my mind, I can see forever Freddie's using Pop, BBQ, Undying & Devour for easy 4ks) before undying/DH was useless, now it is OP (even more then undying ruin on high mobility killers) I might even swap to it on hag for some ez 4ks.

As for reporting the killer or console players in the future, see my post back on the first page for info on if you need to do that in the future.

I think that about wraps all this up.

Yeah it does, thanks for your help.

Also thanks for everyone that replied even if some of you seemed to imply what the killer did was okay. I guess I was over thinking it and should have just left but you never know with this player base what you are going to get. Sometimes it is fabulous memes and wholesome end game chats and other times it is reporting players because someone else did something that pissed them off (which is what I was worried about)

  • @slowbeice said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1856011#Comment_1856011

They know that. Some SWF players simply cannot handle the concept that one of them might die unfairly, and are immediately willing to waste their own time to seek internet justice.

Like I said in many of my previous comments I wasn't in a SWF with this player, she was console so I had no way of contacting her to ask her what she wanted me to do in the situation. Either way it resolved itself by the killer giving up his body blocking before I could open the gate. My main concern was her reporting me for helping the killer by letting her die to EGC when there was a way she might be saved (which she was) if she was dead on hook I would have left right away to end her trial sooner rather then later.

as long as survivors can do something its all good if she would be alone then it would be reportable

She would have been alone left to die if we had opened the exits though. In my eyes we weren't holding the game hostage because he could have just hit her and hooked her (which he eventually did) and he chose to body block her in the corner after she cleansed NOED. I don't think the killer could report us for holding the game hostage because he literally could have just gone and open the exit and forced us out but didn't. The only one that could report us really would be the survivor and she is much more likely to report the killer seeing as it was him that was doing it.

Yes but you weren't intentionally getting her killed. You were completing your objective which was to survive. The only person killing her here is the killer himself. At this point the other survivor might just prefer you to leave so they can move onto the next game without a DC penalty. Just report the killer for griefing/unsportsmanlike and hope they actually use the reports like they say they do. Only other advice I can offer is use this as a lesson to never corner yourself.

She wasn't in a SWF with me so I couldn't tell if she would have wanted me to leave but she was just teabagging the entire time. Unfortunately she had to corner herself because she cleansed his NOED which had spawned in that corner. I think that is why he did it.

I think it needs you to close the game to get it, because I already had an escape but it didn't actually register until much later. But from what I know:

    • You need to escape the trial, through the hatch or the exit gate. AFAIK a killer DC doesn't count.
    • You need to repair the equivalent of one full generator. This means 50% of one, 35% of another, and 15% of the final one will still count towards your achievement.
    • It doesn't matter if you do it on the same generator; you can do it through all 7 if you want to.

Really? Is that a bug? Mine say 0/8 so I would assume it would say 1/8? @Peanits maybe you can shed some light on whether it is a bug or not?

You were right GoodBoyKaru I had to close the game and steam for it to update! Sorry for the notification Peanits!

I got it, it doesn't update the progress when you get a stack of it so you've gotta just keep pressing forward

  • Don't quote me on it but I think it is the way the PTB needs to be approved and the fact that you cannot have 2 live versions of the game on that platform... (I maybe wrong though)

  • I just want them to be secret so that people don't know what you are using. It will make mori and shroud games more interesting too!

We never shouldve had crossplay introduced until dedicated servers were finally put in place and they fixed the GROSS BALANCE PROBLEM WITH FPS.

with PC players getting 120+ fps and us console players getting 30 fps flat. Also this new update they did sucks donkey doodoo. I refuse to play killer at all during all this. Give us the option to opt outta SWF already.

base game for PC is 60 FPS unless you fiddle with it. I would be happy to enable cross play if console players were hitting that FPS consistently, but the fact of the matter is they aren't so it feels shitting getting hit through a frame because the killer is dropping frames and it feels shitting hitting a survivor that is dropping frames. Worst of all is solo surviving with 3 console players as a PC player against a PC killer where you have to carry the rest of your team because of frame drops (especially with the doctor). Console players are asking for FPS to be fixed meanwhile devs are working on graphics changes (if these graphics changes are more GPU/CPU intensive it is gunna suck ass)

  • Survivor: 99ing resilience you get a 9% speed boost to everything and you can just keep your self at a 1 tap with a medkit, pair it with spine chill and it is a no risk high reward build

Killer: Infectious Fright, it was buffed to be on all attacks instead of just m1's. I am 98.7% sure this is why billy was "reworked" (read nerfed) billy base kit wasn't the problem, infectious fright snowball was, I personally think Oni will be next if they don't do something about infectious.

    Fixes for both?

Make it so if you aren't fully healed you start regressing the heal

Infectious (I don't want to say cool down but) perhaps make it so you see Auras instead of sound notifications for 6 seconds but then give it a cool down until you have hooked someone (or a timed cool down)

    Or

Or just make it not work on instadowns.

  • As a piggy main I am not with you. The game is supposed to be balanced around you getting a 2k. Killers need to stop being greedy in wanting 4k's every game. It should be that you get a 2k every game.

Just making observations. If the shoe fits 🤷 I take advice when the advice is worth taking. Such as trying to change the key bindings again. But I've been around the game long enough to know what does and doesn't work. Sitting directly under pallet forces the survivor to one side when pallet is dropped, preventing them from being healed up. Best of luck to you as well

Of course it forces the player to one side of the pallet. You aren't supposed to drop a pallet on someone on the floor unless you are doing a CJ tech (and if you know what that means then you should know not to drop a pallet that someone is under) If you are being chased, lead the killer away from your team mate and if it is the last team mate lead the killer away and Juke your way back to the downed team mate. You have still not addressed the fact I have told you killers can dodge pallet stuns if you sit in the side of a pallet rather than then middle of it... So I am giving up on this thread (@Peanits you should probably lock it as well seeing as he isn't going to take advice and is misleading newer players into thinking this is a good idea) I sincerely hope you take the advice in this thread because it looks like you need it.

Ah so you are all the survivors I keep getting queued with who die way too fast. Smh now it all makes sense.

I have 2700 hours in game and literally know both sides pretty well, I am just trying to give you solid advice but you are clearly to stupid to take it. Maybe you are a killer main trying to get people to stop throwing pallets on your head, in that case I respect the hustle!
