Remove J-Flicks and you are killing yet another fun and balanced killer.

All these people asking for J-flicks to be removed and now that it might actually be happening, like what is going on? Do people want to vs stridor spirits and forever freddys everygame? First billy gets hurt and now blight? Idk what the obsession is with destroying any killers who are balanced for both sides and fun but if this goes ahead it's going to hurt the game TREMENDOUSLY. J-flicks is probably the most high skilled thing in teh game atm. Contrary to what ppl will tell you, it is NOT easy to play blight, let alone pull of J flicks. If you think it's that easy, then show me just how "easy" it is.

Please do not gut blight, probably the most balanced kilelr for both sides atm.

Spinning as survivor is impossible if you have low dpi. And there's never been a cap on blights flicking it's always been based off of ur sens. So this argument makes no sense.

Spinning in a circle as survivor isn't even bound to the mouse, so you're straight up lying. It's bound to the buttons.

if you're good at Blight, J-flicking is extremely simple and easy. And it's still, by definition, and exploit with no counterplay.

You talk about not wanting to go agasint Spirits and Freddy's? A a j-flicking Blight is in the same catagory.

Yeah it's actually kinda silly that this thread says j-flicking is balanced

Then says it puts Blight on the same tier as Nurse and Spirit, two killers who's powers break the game in one way or another.

  • I figure doubt how to do it with no Information beyond a video clip, in my first trial attempting it, and used it to relatively easily 4k. I believe it took me about 5 minutes to get it. I have since done several bouts of testing and have come to the conclusion that it is very easy and removes Blights only direct counterplay, essentially turning him into Nurse or Spirit.

I play Blight the way he was intended and he's fine.

Like i said. if he gets this removed. Nobody will compete with spirit,

How can you even compare spirit/freddy to a jflicking blight? They are the complete opposite. One takes the highest amount of skill in the game and has counterplay. The other too take the least amount of skill and have the least amount of counterplay.

Nobody will argue it's not cheating ur right. But no one's calling for it to be changed, and it's not, so people are basically letting it be part of the game.

It's where you take it wide after you turn a corner and if the blight tries to flick it he'll completely miss.

You can't blame people for that if almost all of them didn't even knew that something like this even exists in the first place.

why the actual hell do you desperately need blight to be on spirit/nurse level when the vast majority of survivors simply aren't good enough to warrant needing it. like blight is still really good on M&K without the J-flick. what is your problem. if you want to tryhard so bad go join a tournament.

the constant whining just makes you and your lot look bad at the game.

    I do play Tournament in-fact.

The Varity of killers are Lackluster.

Barely any killer is comp viable at it stands

Blight / Spirit / Nurse stands the best chance,

Hag is terrible against good survivors as it is

People pre-throw against freddy, Aswel with Oni,

This game is very heavily survivor sided as it stands. Maybe not for solos

But even 4 good solos can be strong,

You'll end up nerfing Oni which would hurt him if blight gets nerfed,

  • @thefallenloser said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070397#Comment_2070397

Not even a valid comparison as the devs intentionally programed the survivors to move the ways that they do. This was reaffirmed after the locomotion update. J-flicking Blight is unintended, impossible for more than 50% of the playerbase, and goes against the clearly defined restrictions and counterplay that was put in place.

So no, it's not fair. Try again.

That's because they cave in to survivors in every single thing that they do, which is why nobody coming to this game sticks with killer. The developers are clearly misguided and do not make the best decisions, this is not debatable.

  • Oni can also 180 flick. albeit more harder since you need to time it right to hit said survivor,

  • Bro, are we still on about this? This is the 10th ######### thread I've seen about this in a week! Contribute to another thread about it or just let it go. There's nothing as far as we know being done about the exploit, keep using it if you want and when something is done about it, whether making it a feature and accessable for all players including console or getting rid of the option to do it then we can talk. Bud damn, had to make another thread about it.

  • Because it make's said Killer Unique.

and How is it the Weakest.. it has it's views. it's ups and downs. (Albeit bhvr did one but we don't talk bout that)

I'm arguing for the sake that It SHOULD stay in the game, Anytime killer get's something new / actual uniqueness to said killer (WHICH affects only two out of the 22) tell me. How many Onis / blights do you go up against everyday?

And how many do they even try to 180 or do a accidental 100 and flicking the other way, Lemme tell you. below the 1%,

  • @Withered8 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070385#Comment_2070385

That doesn't make it an exploit tho. Fatigue cancelling as nurse is unintended yet thats been in teh game for ages. Window techs are unintentional yet theyve been in the game for ages. The point is there are so many unintended things in this game which are fine. If a game is only allowed to be played on the devs terms, then it would be incredibly boring. As there would be no room for creativity and you would be limited to the devs ideas.

Both of the things you listed are no longer in the game. Lol

    "Every console player"

  • PC Blight has almost no counterplay. If you're at a turn so wide that they can 180 then maybe Blight should actually have a situation where he can't just brainlessly use his power. I can't even hit a 60 degree turn (if not even 50) on console but you think PC should be allowed to hit full 180s, get out of town.

  • If it's not allowed in the game itself, than it needs to be dealt with. Honestly I'm gonna say this, people who abuse the J flicking with Blight and stretching their screens for advantages are just straight up bad at the game. The tryhards in this game like to abuse both of them, and therefore honestly are what ruin the game for other people.

There has never been a cap on his lunge. It's not like people are breaking this so called "cap" to do this. THis is just what happens when you use a higher sense for ANY character.

Also Why is nurse allowed to literally teleport through walls and spirit allowed to move at insane speeds WHISLT invisible without any caps on their turning etc then? That makes no sense.

You do realise oni has a hard cap for his demon dash lunge right?

Both Nurse and spirit are OP. I’ve been advocating for these two to be nerfed for awhile now

  • If they wanted to adopt it as a mechanic they'd have to make it 100% "basekit", as in available to everyone regardless of their input method. I highly doubt they will do so and I think it will be fixed, but if they did they'd have to do that as you can't up and down your DPI on a controller and it's even easier on some mice than others.

And even then they'd still have to fix something, as the same problem would still exist. People could still add another layer of DPI-swapping j-flick on top of the officially adopted extra turning ability. The underlying flaw with the game won't go away by simply adopting it as a mechanic as it's a flaw with an extremely fundamental aspect of the game.

  • @Brokenbones said:

Are you implying Blight isn't balanced and that an exploit is the only thing that makes him so

That's a really bad statement and it's an insult to all the great Blight players who manage just fine without using an unintended exploit

It being fixed won't hurt the game in the slighest.

Considering Blight was already considered high tier and one of the more skill based killers at launch, agreed. I think this is just exploiters that struggle to actually use his power as intended and use an exploit for easy downs.

    @Withered8 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070428#Comment_2070428

But you see no-one talks about this stuff. They kick it into the long grass and then try to make their case about why spirit is balanced.

Spirit exploits are something which completely break the game btw, literally nothing you can do if a spirit knows where you are. There is PLENTY of counterplay to J-flicks. Have you heard of the hunter tech?

You're comparing intentional design to an (acknowledged by the devs) unintentional exploit.

Yeah, Spirit is ######### lame to play against but she was designed that way.

Also, in what universe do you need J flicks to do well as blight? He's a strong killer with a decently high learning curve. Considering that you need to mess with your dpi outside of the game to even be able to do it. That should already tell you something.

  • This technique is a "cure" for the symptom. If Blight's turning radius was tweaked juuuust a bit, it wouldn't be as necessary. Without it, he is too easy to juke, especially for a novice player going against knolwedgable players (which we all know happens more than it should). I remember the first time I got hit with it. I was a mix of confused and livid. I asked the person in post game chat how he pulled it off and they straight up admitted "High DPI". Blight is hard to get hits with in various situations. He needs a tiiiiny fix in my opinion. Not that it will stop people from feeling they need outside help to be good with the killer, but it would even the playing field a tad.

I don't see how so many ppl can call J-flicking on blight as skillless yet the completely ignore half the other killer roster in this game which is actually braindead. Jflicking is not easy, it's not as simple as just changing ur dpi. Try it out. There's actual technique to it more than 90% of other killers in this game.

Good blights will never be playing m1 because then they arent using their power properly at all.

Knowing when NOT to use a power is a key part of mastering it. Trying to down everything with Judgement for example makes you a terrible PH that's probably going to lose almost all of his chases against competent survivors. I've also seen loads of tricksters screw up really badly by sticking to knife-throwing when they really should be moving in closer and pressuring survivors out of a hiding spot.

I've even had a huntress whiff a hatchet on me when an M1 would've been an undeniable hit. It is critical to know when to use your power and when to just slap a survivor.

So no, good blights will not stick to using power only. Good blights will slap a survivor when the situation calls for it.

I don't think nurse needs a nerf, and I don't think Spirit can be fixed with a flat nerf. Spirit's issue is the lack of gameplay revolving her power. A spirit that can read auxiliary info is basically the same as having a killer permanently at, what, 150% speed?

Nurse, for comparison, still has to finesse her blinks and can be psyched out by survivors, and she incurs a heavy penalty for whiffing, which Spirit does not. So even if you DO make a spirit whiff her phasewalk, she's back on you in a second, while a Nurse might lose you altogether.
