Lets make a List of NON-OFFENSIVE things blocked by the new chat filter
Hey everyone, lets make a list of NON-OFFENSIVE words/things blocked by the chat filter.
Starting things off, it blocks ng, and i type gg gl ng (good game good luck next game) every match but now it looks like gg gl ##... whhyyy.

"Jeff Main", "Dwight Main", "Jake Main", and "Felix Main"
"u"
That covers it for the ESRB, not the Justice Department. The ESRB is a total joke, anyhow.
"Afking" is a word that's also censored for some reason.
Dude..
"FACE CAMP" is censored?!
What the actual ######### is going on here?!
"Make me come alive"
the word come was blocked 😂
"i swear I wont get all political"
3 drinks later:
Why do people always act like silencing language never "counts" unless the government is doing it?
Mewling Quim
Old timey way of calling someone a "whiney (slang word for female genitalia)"
Fun fact, Loki called Black widow this very thing using these words in the first Avengers Movie when she was Reverse interrogating him. It's funny to understand this translation whenever you watch that scene, and know they only got away with it because the masses didn't know what he was saying.
edit - Oh wait, you meant non-offensive things... sorry. Well still, this is offensive, and not blocked so go nuts using it guys.
I love how a fundamental right that all Americans have is somehow construed as being "political"
Well, To be Fair... BHVR is based in Canada.
Eh, I am joking, not trying to make any statement here.
I just find it funny how people get so heated up over a chat filter.
Not murican' by the way.
I'd personally argue that BHVR is more liable to be sued for selling people a product in which the basic features don't work 90% of the time.
So wait, they put in a language filter that can be disabled, so that adult language can be seen instead of censored, but then they just added a second filter so that, even with the first filter being disabled, you still can't see language? And most of it isn't even adult language, but normal words? XD
I said yeah she probably should have killed herself on hook to give you hatch and got flagged lol
Because the issue with censorship is that it is used to create and maintain dictatorships but that has nothing to do with private organisations, they are not obligated to let you say or do what you want. For example, if you visit me in my house and you do/say something I don't like I can throw you out for that and that doesn't mean you are being censored because you are still able to say/do this things in your own home, I'm just enforcing my house rules. It's the same when a company enforces certain rules. You are still free to avoid the company and you free to create your own company with your own rules.
It's a fundamental right for Americans, but dbd is not played only in America, other countries have different laws.
Also, as somebody already pointed out, it's not even developed by Americans.
It's not even a fundamental right for Americans. There's no law that says a private platform or venue is obligated to allow you to use it however you wish.
correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the First Amendment protect American's free speech on social platforms? Genuine question
Tried that yesterday and wasn't blocked for me, weird
No, it doesn't. Just read the text and see.
Anyway, this is touching on political, so I'd rather drop the subject, if that's alright with you.
i will, just wanted to know, i ain't American nor have read the Constitution so i was genuinely curious if it counted, thanks
Fun fact: the other n-word which refers to a member of the nationalsocialistic party is surprisingly okay for the chat-filter. But the second you mention "facecamping" your message gets censored.
I tried to say "bond" when talking about Dwight's perk ,that was blocked
Censorship is very much valid when it comes to certain things.
Good, so people can keep calling me like that, just because they are mad and I'm German.
Teabagger is blocked, Devs encourage you to do it but I can't complain about it afterwards.
Makes it also extra-easy to get people banned by reporting them immediately after.
Behaviour is Canadian. Under our Charter Laws, we have freedom of expression... with reasonable limits enforcement. The government has authority to protect people from defamation and hate speech.
You may have the right to say whatever you want, but you are not free of consequence.
Not directing this at you personally... just in case you were curious.
the first amendment prevents the GOVERNMENT from censoring your speech, even if it's "hate speech" but not if it is intended to direct or cause harm to someone or some people. so you can say that the government sucks and they can't do a damn thing to you. but a private company or person can however tell you what you can say or do on THEIR PLATFORM. that is what the first amendment is, and many americans think it absolves them of wrong doing and that private people MUST listen to them or that companies do not have the ability to tell them to shut up.
Phone is apparently a bad word... I just don't even...
If that's your case then I don't think BHVR is going to even hire a lawyer for that.
I would love to get a statement from the devs as to whether the filter is working as intended or not, and whether they intend to change it.
I fundamentally disagree with the idea that "the privacy of your own home", which is a single dwelling, is conflatable with a multi-million user publicly traded entity.
Ok this is INSANE.
"REAL" and "NAME" are banned words. I found after trying to write "Shape real name is a banned word".
"Myers" is banned.
"Facecamp" is also banned.
At this rate you may aswell get rid of postchat all together because we can only comunicate with "yes" and "no" (unless they get banned too which wouldnt be surprising after what Ive seen).
It is a fundamental right. It is so fundamental that it isn't actually given by the government. Our Constitution just says government can't take it from us. Sure, companies can do what they want. Just as i can say that BHVR is literally evil for censoring speech and i can say i'll never purchase a product from them again until it is gone.
Censorship is evil. We have a playbook of it happening in history.
First they censor the art
Then they come for the books
Then they come for you.
mcgee is censored for me. rip exaggerating.
Фенг this Feng name is in Russian and it is impossible to write, lol
NOED
We aren't living in the world of Fahrenheit 451
Is this talking about the PC endgame chat? I'm on console and I didn't know there was any sort of filter. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question
Yep endgame chat and pre game lobby chat for survivors on PC. Consoles don’t have this option at all.
the Filter was introduced with the All Kill chapter, it’s an adaptive system, the more you use „bad“ words, the more words get filtered for you.
That sucks. If you happen to know, what was the reason? DBD is starting a new "no swearing" rule? Dbd causes swear words more often than not lol
I mean, offensive things were always not welcome and reportable.
many many people complained about toxicity in the chat, and they introduced a filter system that apparently filters a little bit too much. They can adjust their filter though.
it’s just another case of community complaining about anything instead of giving constructive feedback..
I see. Thanks.
Cancel culture is proving otherwise.
Censorship is evil.
I remember writing someone's profile name got censored.
Sorry, i don't remember the name itself, but it wasn't anything bad.
This entire list am I a joke
Orion running defense for a company to justify bad decisions.
When you KNOW you have to resort to this, you know you are in the wrong.
