  • How on earth is this still not dead switch'ed???

  • Same problem … really frustrating. All the usual first steps (update driver, reinstall etc.) didn't help. Had the game crash on me before (once every 2-3 month), but the moment I cannot even finish one match without a crash.

  • Also Face Mask gives you permanent blindness when your trap glitches. Was in combo with Video Tape.

It's kind of like if Exhaustion perks had a 50% chance of working when they were supposed too.

You mean, as if there is something that blocks exhaustion perks? Maybe a addon? Nah, that would be ridiculous ...

Totem spawns are improved and will be continue to improve. Devs said that multiple times.

For all who cry for it: Improved totem spawns also means a Ruin rework is necessary. Ruin is like support wheels for killer allready and makes killer super easy to play. Even if it get cleansed in the first min, the time advantage is huge. So better learn now to play without ruin.

  • but it wouldn't be exclusive and something you have to earn to get it =(

  • Can we please have a "known issue" board for bugs?

The "bvhr read" function is barely used and bug reporting without feedback feels really frustrating.

  • destroy something different as well.

Yes, that's a great idea. Let him destroy the exit gates. Entitled survivors have no right to escape.

"After all the time"..I mean it's been a couple of days, not years. Like I get you, it would be nice if they made an announcement that they have sent the emails out but honestly, today is the 22th. Give it an extra day (or days) to see what they say.If people could be patient enough for 4 four days or so for the email, then they can still be patient for a few more days to hear the announcement that they have gather enough players for their experiment and they are grateful for all those who were interested C:.

Just wait a bit more. I am sad I didn't get the email but who knows maybe they are still sending them out so we will soon find out if they ever make an announcement. Time well tell~

I mean you are right, but a simple statement from a mod here if the selection is closed or ongoing would be the correct way the comunicate this. If the mods don't know ... say that.

They clearly read the request for information. I don't get why you should let people incite each other in 2-3 forum posts until they are mad.

  • A "Thank you for your interest" rejection mail would have been polite.

Did you report them in game? That's all you need to do. If there was no in game report there's nothing that can be done unfortunately.

I would think that I could send in additional evidence. But I suppose I cannot? :(

It is not necessary. If you report for insulting or harassment ingame, chat logs will be saved.

That doesn't really matter, my point is simple: You are allowed to DC for somewhat 40% and only then the devs consider it worthy to punish. That's their tolerance, it's a simple fact. You are allowed to DC for roughly 40% of the matches and you won't get any punishment because the devs think that's fine.

I'm really sorry. I really wanted to avoid you because our discussions never progress. But @Peanits stated a few days ago: "I'm not sure where the 40% number is coming from but it's not true. I've seen it mentioned a couple times now and that's not the case."

you are out of your mind. Ridiculously long survivor ques

Survivor queue times (PC / Central Europe) are between 1-2 minutes.

I got more salty messages from fellow survivors during this event than in the last 3 months

I do not see that at all, maybe that's a "you" problem

    nobody burns offerings

I see on average 2 per round.

survivors grab a lantern and hide the entire game, no one does generators

Funny, I see many complaints about "gen rushing" here.

This EVENT SUCKS!!!. Stop carrying BHVR's water.

Just accept that there are people who like it.

    Maybe Sprint Burst as well

Because man is that lame when so many people have it. Plus it really hurts any kind of killer who gets surprise attacks on survivors like Wraith or Pig.

If your surprise attack gets countered by sprint burst, it was not a surprise attack.

Not everyone was nice but as a whole? I would say yeah they were compared to Moonrise. Everybody is out for themselves on Moonrise, there’s a lot more killers refusing survivors the chance to participate and vice versa, and there’s nothing to satisfy people who didn’t survive or sacrifice nor is the actual grind reasonable even by grinding standards.

See there is the problem. I'm not interested in farming at all. And many other killer mains too. This ruined the event for many. You waited 15-30 minutes for a lobby and than survivors denied you normal gameplay. The ignored you while sitting on plants or killed them self on first hook.

I've made a list in another post, which shows that this event improves on all major criticisms of Hallowed Blight.

The killer point gain and the offering cost/reward bloodpoint wise is off. Everything else is right for me

  • @pemberley said:

Deja Vu, it's so OP that you can literally see the gens through walls, this perk promotes gen rushing and it is used by all those toxic swf groups.

Right! DS? Pff ... Deja Vu is the toxic tryhard swf perk!

  • Just report them. Btw: You can reach that spot with every killer. Just strafe on the lowest edge of this rock. After you did this 1-2 times, it's pretty easy. Than you can smack their teabagging face and watch them dc.

  • Moonrise.
My only problems are event point distribution for killer and blood point gain. I don't mind the grind. I accepted the playstyle of others. Just run wglf. You get all the hooks. Lobby times for survivor are under two minutes (at least for me). I have not seen a single mori since the beginning of the event. Killer lobby are instant. Survivor are so gen focused, they do not care about an even spread. 3 gen tactics work very well. Survivor commit. Gen grabs with stealth killer work pretty well.

Give me more bp for an offering and 1 event point for all remaining lanterns at the end of the round as killer. And I am happy.

  • @Gorgonia said:
Whoever said I don’t? I’m making this post because I find myself saving people non-stop and I run by people on gens on my way to the hooks who were much closer to the hooked person but never made an attempt to leave the gen for a minute

Nobody said that. This was a general advice to everybody. No offense.

Spine chill affects vaulting speed asaik

    It doesn't anymore.

    Hence the question.

I didn't mean to say so just read the description. But this time everything is actually in it. They clarified this on the last stream.

  • @Coriander said:
It works best when you follow people around, letting them do things faster? I haven't had a chance to see it in-game yet.

It works best if you are the target of the action. If you get healed or unhooked. Follow people around is a bad idea. Although they are 25% more effective, you are 100% less effective as if you just do your thing. For a hex totem or an exit gate you can stay, but your Leader effect stays for an extra 15 seconds anyways. So a quick dive by is enough.

  • Be the survivor you want to play with.

I see many here who say that everyone playing selfish anyways and then do the same thing. I am an altruistic player, have always been. I will be left behind. Sometimes. Do I stop because of that? Nope.

  • No, it does not affect vaulting. As the description says: Healing, Sabotage, Unhooking, Cleansing, Opening Exit Gates and Chest Search nothing more.

  • @Tsulan said:
So all flowers could could be harvested in 2 minutes, progress was faster when several survivors were on the same flower

2 Minutes are an incredible waste of time in DBD.

survivors on the hook earned 20k+ bloodpoints while doing nothing all while killers had to reach specific hooks that could be on the other end of the map. But it was killer sided...

So you're talking about blood points. Why is that crucial to the balance of the game?

I climbed about 10 ranks as killer in 3 days without really playing that much. It was batshit crazy easy as a killer.

  • @Tsulan said:
How was hollowed blight killer sided?
    It was survivor sided af.

Did you play the same event? Games were so slow. You could goof around forever and still win with 4-5 generators remaining.

  • A few positive things about the event: They have taken into account all major criticisms of the Halloween event.

    • This event allows absolutely normal style of play for all who do not want to participate
    • All event rewards are achievable through playing the game
    • You will not be forced to play both sides to get all the coins
    • The event allows you to collect blood points through event offerings even if you already have all the coins
    • People killed themselves as soon as they reached their event goal. That does not happen anymore

Some points the developers have tried to take into account, even if they did not really work in the end:

    • People have complained about too many event offerings in the bloodweb
    • The event task does not distract too much from the actual game goal
    • Killers get more than just special hooks

I think we are taking a step in the right direction, even if many things are not going well. Things I want for the next one:

    • I am not a friend of competition among the survivors
    • The effort to reach the event goal needs to be better balanced between killers and survivors
    • Event offerings should be unified to one for all events
    • Time is a critical factor. Event objectives should be designed so that when they slow down, both sides will slow down
  • edit: nvm ... I misread.

Exclusive skins should not be a thing in a game you have to pay for. I say this as a Legacy owner

Why? Purchasable I could understand but why exclusive? They are a reward for longtime and consistent players. It's a "look i was there" thing that pleases many people. It can also motivate people to attend an event even though they are currently taking a break from the game.

Listen, I know it's a popular phrase to come up with but if someone starts the sentence literally with "I see it on a daily base" it's obvious that the following part is based on the experience they see on a daily base and not meant a fact at all...

So, it is not an fact. How do you know then how much it affects the kill/escape ratio? And if you don't know. On what basis are you trying to tell people here that their style of play is harmful to the game?

You're an incredibly annoying person to deal with

I'm sorry. The only reason i put time in this is that I think to tell people that risky alturistic gameplay is stupid or incompetent hurts the game more than the other way around.

No, if you don't believe it, inform yourself. I'm not here to teach you.

I have informed myself and I am still of the opinion that we both don't know what information the developers use and which not.

(And if you realized that most killings are due to stupidity, why shouldn't the developers know? After all, you have written it several times in their forum.)

  • @AChaoticKiller said:
I thought survivors would be smart and gen rush since if you get 5 gens done every survivor gets 20 points but like you said they are just hiding... Yesterday I ran a doc around for 7 minutes on the last gen while the last two guys stayed around the hatch waiting for me to die.

Some player just want to farm the 500 points you get every 30 seconds. They care more about blood points instead of event points.

  • @PiiFree said:
I see it on a daily base, I'm sure most of the hooks that happen in the endgame happen because of "stupid" actions of Survivors.

Again assumptions not facts. Please handle it like that. Your experiences are not statistical proof.

As for the dev stream part, I think if you watched all of them you would've noticed that they balance the game around 2 kills and 2 escapes. If this result is achieved, they consider the match to be balanced. I'm surprised that this is news to you, as they often (if not exlcusively) provide those stats in relation to balance.

Yeah they stated 2 kills and 2 escapes is the center of balance. BUT they have said about a dozen times that they design and balance the game also around fun for and against a killer, gameplay reasons, different player groups etc.

Is that true? How knows. You just do not know what's really going on. You know exactly what the developers want to tell you, everything else is guesswork. (That includes me. Therefore I do not claim to know how it is.)

I'm pretty sure if you ask them right now if they balance the game only according to the kill/escape statistics, they will say no. And then? Are you going to give up your position?

Another irrelevant question: Since when do you play this game?

First contact beta, but I really started between Doctor and Freddy, so mid 2017.

  • @PiiFree said:

Feeding unnecessary kills is always a case of stupidity or incompetence. Whenever you approach a hook for an unhook attempt, you can easily evaluate how high your chances of success are. BT? NOED? Oneshot-killer? Exit gate open? Exit gate nearby? Next hook = dead?

Many factors come in place in that situation and if you're smart, you can clearly see how your rescue act (most likely) will end up like.

Yes of course I look at the factors in advance (like the above) and I will not always run straight to the hook without consideration of many things.

If you mindlessly run into a facecamping Leatherface (and that happens) it has nothing to do with "a high risk / high reward gamble", it's simply stupid and nothing else.

Of course you will take that one example. Yeah, a facecamping Leatherface is dead situation, I agree. But what if you can provoke him. This will not work if you stand a mile away and point at him. But get close in a range he could get you and maby he will let his guard down for a moment. I've seen a lot of rescues like this and yes I have seen it fail also. Killer will also make mistakes from time to time. Even the best do not always play perfect.

Or maby he is close patroling or maby it isn't a LF or or or .... as you stated there are dozens of factors when, how and why I go for a risky rescue and when not. But just bc it is risky and could end in a "unnecessary" dead is not a reason.

As for the proof for that "balance around kills / escapes", just shows me that you never watch the dev streams. Just watch some of the streams right after they released a new Killer and you'll find out they'll use "escape and death statistics" to evaluate if a Killer is broken or fine.
Just look at freddy for example, they figured he had a high kill rate in rank 20 upon release so they nerfed him because obviously people had trouble against him. Ignoring the fact that people DC'd left and right as soon as they realized it's a freddy, which lead to those escape rates.

I saw all streams since I play this game. And when you look back on the dev stream for the freddy nerf (as I do right now) you will see that:

    high DC rates are mentioned
different opinion about his power level are mentioned
ppl dont have fun against him is mentioned
devs listening to feedback is mentioned

Now, of course, you can say that she did not take it all into account for the nerf but just because it was retrospectively wrong is no proof.

  • @PiiFree said:
It simply represents the spupidity or incompetence of the players.

We just had this discussion a few days ago. And your ignorance annoys me. This is not a case of spupidity or incompetence. It's a gamble. High risk, high profit. We (altruistic players) know the odds when we do such things.

The problem is that the devs use such stats to measure the balance. Which is why I try to avoid providing inaccurate / not representative match results.

Again I see no prove that's the case. This is an statement without any basis on which you want to dictate to others how to play.

  • @Bravo0413 said:
With this addon you would still need that little window....

Why? As I understand your idea a medkit fully heals you automatically - lets say - after 60 seconds. So if you get hit and manage to be chased by the killer for a minute tadaaa ... you'r healed. Mid Chase no matter what. For an insta heal you need a pallet or window otherwise you get hit right after bc you have to stop moving for a moment.

  • Imagine the fun the survivor you hunt heals mid chase. For an insta heal you need at least a little time window. It should not work while you are running. It would still be strong as you get healed, while doing a gen.

Usually I take medkits to heal my own wounded butt. But I'd like an add-on that allows you heal others with half the charges. It would allow you to use medkits more altruistic and efficiently.

  • @se05239 said:
... and hope you see the vessel that the hooked survivor used and break it before the survivor's saved.

You don't have to find that exact vessel.

  • @Rex_Huin said:
Playing killer how are you supposed to find the lantern after you hook someone???

Seems very tough - am I missing something?

Find and remember the spots mid game. Vessels always spawn in their original place after you hooked a
survivor holding one. You try to keep track of which ones are destroyed, which ones are currently taken and which ones are still on their spot.

  • I do not know why they try again and again to bring competition among the survivors. Fight over the plants then, fight over the vessels now. Without enough offerings, someone goes out empty-handed always.

In the Halloween event, people killed themselves when the vials were full. Now people are leaving the game as soon as possible and take no risks in lategame. Give the survivors a objective they can do together and that benefits everyone equally.

I would also like to know who came up with the idea of giving killers a second objective and at the same time to motivate survivors to leave the game as soon as possible. It's not that time management has always been a critical point for killers.

  • @mimzy630 said:
In my math, I assume two chances for BBQ (AKA, killer slot 1 and killer slot 2), not BBQ twice. When all is said and done, the rest canceled, making it look very fake.
Still, if I'm wrong, please redo an example and I'll check again. I'd rather be right than popular.

Chance of BBQ per week: 2chances for BBQ/27teachable killer perks = 7.41%

The first perk has a 1/27 probability, the second has a 1/26 since our first perk left the pool and can not be drawn again. This gives us about 7,55%.

  • Psst don't tell anyone but Left Behind is has also appeared only once and it is six month longer in the pool. I think they want to force us to buy ... Oh right its free.

You can not cherry picking things and base a conspiracy theory on it. I mean, of course you can but that makes you look like a fool.

  • First of all your math is off. A perk can not appear twice in one shrine. Second I am pretty sure there is a rule that prevents perks appear in successive weeks. It never happened and would be very unfair. So the probabilities are different each second week.

This makes the BBQ probability higher for each period.

    BUT: statistics /= probability

Just because your data does not match your mathematical expectations means that the data are wrong. Statistical deviations are natural. If they did not exist, I would be sure that the data are fake.

  • @PiiFree said:
That's the sad part, the devs balance the game around kill / escape rate.

I have no insight how the devs really work, so I can't and won't argue about that.

    @PiiFree said:
It's not at all about denying the killer some points or hooks, at least not for me.

So I apologize for this assumption.

  • @PiiFree said:
It matters because every pointless hook or kill allows bad Killers to pip and rank up. All while the statistics show a decent kill-ratio, ignoring the fact that half of those kills were achieved because of stupid action like the one we're discussing right now.

The kill / escape ratio doesn't represent the true match performance, it just represents the stupidity of Survivors in the last few seconds, which then will be used to balance or not balance the game.

I find it very daring to say that the developers are balancing the game on the basis of such simple statistics, without looking at more details about when/how/why a game came to its conclusion.

BUT even if that is so: Your kill / escape ratio represent the true match. Why does it matter if it is because you are good or your survivor are stupid. Or lets turn around: If all leave and let the OP die. Now we have three escapees who didn't need any skill. How is this representative?

  • @PiiFree said:
It's truly fascinating how people can read a simple statement like "Stop giving the Killers free hooks / sacrifices" and then come to the conclusion that my "only concern is to deny points from the Killer".

I'm honestly speechless as to what to reply, so I'll just go with "Ok" and move on, hope that's ok :)

I have clearly referred to this situation, but I do not want to accuse anyone. So please tell me why my dead (by trying to save someone) matters in any other way than killer bp in this situation.

  • @Bravescorpio said:
Interesting list that. I guess people just like to win, haha. That's sort of why I like dueling the Huntress, I feel she is strong enough, yet, if I take the time to learn her its a mind game you can usually win as a survivor. You can bait the windows and the pallets. It feels like you earned your win through strategy.

My first thought but i really don't like the Iridescent Head add-on.

  • Including all add-ons. I would say trapper. I always respect well planned and unpredictable trap spots and always blame myself if i run into one.

  • @PiiFree said:
Stop giving the Killers free hooks / sacrifices.

Why? In this situation you are either on the hook (and willing to die) or you are free to go since the killer is camping the hook. Why care what I do with my virtual survivor life or even worse care how many points the killer makes. What kind of a dickmove is this if your only concern is to deny points from the killer.

  • @Yamaoka said:
I don't care about escaping I just want to be a good team mate

So as I. If u run a killer for 5 gens, I will try to save you. I have more fun trying to save you even if you get facecamped. I dont care if I die. I dont care if the killer gets a 4k. The excitement of getting the almost impossible save is more fun. And these are the moments where you can see really good teamwork even with 4 solo players - sometimes.
