Even today in the Castlevania chapter it still happens and very often. When are they going to fix it?
This and that annoying jitter Blight does everytime he breaks pallet or a wall.
-
Additional info regarding another headpiece from Spirit's outfit "Haru Damashi": the headpiece is missing it's red hue, the hair itself is black atm similar to default headpiece.
-
Yeah this issue was reported twice if not thrice already, good luck :) Im upvoting and bumping this as a confirmation that the issue with Spirit's hair is STILL present.

Platform: PC, although this issue persists regardless of the platform you're playing on.
As the title says, Spirit's hair has lost it's "floaty" physics after the recent change in DBD's engine.
Head pieces with broken physics: Loose Shimada from the "Tattered Tradition" outfit:https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KP1D7R2K0UI5/image.png
Aswell as Messy Maru Mage head piece from the "The Reckoning" outfit:

Additionally, Crimson overflow head piece from the "Haru Damashi" outfit has lost it's red highlights/gradient within the Spirit's hair:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KH46AH63OGBI/image.png
That's pretty much all the headpieces affected. Ghostface used to have a similar issue with floaty straps around his default outfit, but it got fixed recently.
To reproduce the issues provided via screenshots above, you have to simply select the Spirit in the shop and equip all mentioned outfits, slowly rotate and pay attention to her hair clipping through her model (this isn't how it supposed to look).
Graphic preset does not matter in this regard.@Anonymous said:
A lot of spirit's head pieces/body cosmetics have lost their floaty physics

Can confirm. Happens to me quite often actually, and i think it has something to do with m1 and m2 buttons being mashed simultaneously/both pressed way too quickly during the Lethal Rush.
-
Can confirm. Also apparently double fatigue happens more often than ever, atleast for me, which is very annoying.
Regarding the camera bug during pallet breaking animation- it felt so nice being able to slowly move and rotate during the breaking animation, i wish they didn't just revert it and atleast tried to fix it. Oh well.. -
Im bumping this as a confirmation of the issue since i've just experienced it myself after a long hiatus from the game. The funniest part is that im a Shadowborn addict, which makes her broken animations even more noticeable, and it gave me a headache after a single game..
How can be something like this become broken without even directly mentioning Spirit in the patchnotes of the recent hotfix?
-
Can confirm. Everytime you start Phasing you lose a whole second of your power before being able to move.
-
Shadowborn for killer and Botany Knowledge for survivor
-
Im with you on this. I've just played one game as Blight and noticed that i wasn't as "fast" while using Shadowborn and playing on the default FoV felt.. Pretty weird, to say the least.
As a Shadowborn-addict it really hurts my head when im playing killer on DBD's default FoV... I hope they'll fix it asap :(
-
@MandyTalk I can confirm that Clown's bottles are somewhat fixed when you throw them over the running survivors. They get slowed down when they run into the gas.
But direct-hit with a bottle still seems to do next to nothing. The survivors will scream, but still not get slowed and additionally, they are capable of fast vaulting any window after getting directly hit with a bottle (mind you, even without queuing the vault action before getting hit by a bottle directly).
-
@Mandy said:
I believe yes it is fixed - but it was not added to the patch notes. I will take care of that a little later.
Thank you so much, Mandy ;-;
-
I was hoping to see atleast something related to the Clown in the recent hotfix, but oh well...

For me, nothing has changed. Add some harshness to the game, not fix her hair. It's been almost a year and a half now and no hair fixes for Rin or Oni
Well there's something i guess. I doubt the hair textures in general will be updated any time soon because this is a result of their hair optimisations that were made last year.
This is still poorly modeled, yeah.. But atleast the Spirit isn't bald these days :)

Do you know if the ultra graphic setting improve those hints (dust, grass etc...)?
I would say that graphic presets do not affect grass at all. Survivors interract with the grass and make it move and create sounds anyway (same with corn, btw), which doesn't depend whether you're on low or ultra. They do affect the dust on pallets and windows, however - you can still see it on low preset, but it's more noticeable on medium and higher presets.
-
Can confirm. I was playing killer and i wasn't even getting stunned by a pallet after swinging through it AND landing a hit on a survivor.
Also, i like your name.
-
I think they are. I was playing survivor yesterday and the amount of purple flashlights, med-kits and keys that i was getting from chests was insane. Red keys and maps, too.
I don't think i've got any brown or yellow item from a chest yesterday, lol.
-
Pay attention to the grass movement and dusty particles on the windows and pallets when survivors slow vault over them. Additionally, when survivors slow vault over a pallet, they make a little "oomph" sound. Same with lockers even when they rush into them with Quick and Quiet.
If you want to catch an injured survivor with Iron Will i would recommend for you to not use your Phase Walk for it's full duration; Just tap it for a second or two, since injured survivors usually will run for some distance after getting hit and then slow walk back into you, which is very predictable.
You should rely more on sounds and not on scratchmarks since basically every survivor starts walking when they see a Spirit standing still.
I would also recommend for you to not Phase Walk instantly at open loops; You can stay there for a couple of seconds and watch if a survivor is going to run away from a loop. And if they do, this usually leads to an easy hit out of Phase since Spirit moves at 176% speed in her ability without any addons.
I don't recommend using Stridor; This perk only hinders me personally and you will become addicted to this perk.
I suggest for you to play Spirit more and just practice. It's a little hard playing her at the beggining, but after some time spent on Spirit you will destroy everyone.
P.S. I don't recommend standing still at pallets and waiting for a survivor to vault into you. Learn to play aggressively as Spirit with her ability and don't rely on standing still "mindgame". Good luck!
-
Yeah i think i saw your post before creating this one.
Btw, it seems like they've turned off the anti-aliasing with the recent update which made some of the Spirit's hair cosmetics look better and the game itself, too.
Im still mad about school girl's outfit hair being the way it is right now, but oh well.
-
McLean confirmed on his stream yesterday that there's an additional slowdown right when you uncloak as Wraith which lasts for like 0,5 seconds. Which is why you can't lunge right away and the lunge itself feels slower.
It is confirmed to be an unintentional change that most likely will be fixed in the next hotfix.
-
Additionally, the Carburetor tuning guide just makes it even worse but more noticeable (?) if that's the right word to use. The first charge without any addons is bugged, too.
It's acknowledged by the developers so that's a good thing, i guess.

Do you have a source by any chance?
Of course! Im sorry for the late response:
-
Atm his first charge is bugged. That's a bug and it is already acknowledged by the developers. During the first charge Bubba feels incredibly slow, but then he regains his normal speed.
edit:
i didn't knew that Carburetor addon reduces Bubba's chainsaw speed. The point is still stands, though: His first charge is bugged.
-
Thank you for acknowledging this! Although i find it pretty strange that Wraith changes his stance into Trapper's once it zooms into 1st person view of the killer, making him, you know, using Trapper's animations. Even the shadow of the Wraith in-game looks like the Trapper's one.
But oh well. Thank you guys once again.
-
Still not fixed..
-
Update.
After the recent hotfix Wraith's stance in the lobby seems to be fixed (He used to have Trapper's idle animation in-lobby)
But despite this he still uses Trapper's weapon animations in-game while walking, from killer's perspective.
Also Wraith doesn't have his weapon in the post-game menu (it's the same with pretty much every weapon cosmetic).
-
This issue is still in the game after the recent update :v
-
This is still not fixed on the ptb nor acknowledged.

Good luck trying to get this fixed

Ah, I get it. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that developers will pay attention to your post. Believe me, I made so many posts with bugs in killer animations, more than anyone else, and the developers fixed only 10% of the total number.
As far as I know, the developers did not fix the animation when the Wraith gets stunned by a pallet. At this point, from the survivor's side, his hand in which he holds the weapon is very noticeably bent. There was also a bug when the Wraith got stunned by a DS and from the 1st person his hand was somewhere at the top, while the animation itself was terrible and twitchy, when it should be the opposite-beautiful and smooth (the same problem is observed in the Pig, Nightmare, Michael, Huntress and some other killers)
Wraith also has a broken idle animation in the main lobby when you are waiting for the game to start. It plays animation like a Trapper. Billy has the same problem. The most interesting thing is that these bugs are several years old. This started after entering the Clown into the game.
Before the Clown, Billy and the Wraith had their own unique idle animations (the Wraith had the same animation when you start the game and the camera scrolls in the air around the killer, as in this screenshot):
Maybe it's just a placeholder. Because i believe that there was a mid-chapter on the ptb some months ago when they've updated Wraith's, Billy's and Trapper's being stunned by DS animations, etc. It was before the Blight and Deathslinger for sure. Maybe the code fell off and since Trapper's animations are the basic ones, Wraith, Michael and etc. are using his animations atm, sadly. I guess we just have to wait until the next update. I doubt that this topic will get acknowledged by the developers, but oh well
-
@Animator said:
I didn't understand the point of the fourth point. Where is the bug?
Oh it's just the weapon animation itself when the Wraith is carrying someone. As was said already, the weapon used to be lower and more bouncy. I've added it just to provide as much details as possible.
-
Bump since this topic vanished into the shadows and still didn't got acknowledged :V
-
Here's the video of what i've mentioned: Wraith just switches his stance into Trapper's, still
The weapon and walking animations are still bugged.
-
The recent hotfix fixed most killer's weapon animations at the start of the game. The Wraith's idle animation is sorta fixed, but when it 'zooms' into 1st person perspective, Wraith instantly changes his stance into Trapper's one. He is still using Trapper's animations from killer's perspective.
-
Still not fixed with the recent update.
-
I have reported this already, btw https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/199430/wraiths-animations-after-4-3-0-update-are-bugged#latest
And not only his cloaking/uncloaking animations are bugged, but in addition Wraith uses Trapper's animations atm. So im hoping it will be fixed any time soon :V
-
Also, i've forgot to mention that since i use Shadowborn this is NOT the reason why Wraith's weapon looks the way it is right now from killer's perspective. Even without Shadowborn his walking (and weapon) animation is the same as Trapper's. I hope that's enough information. Cheers.

@MeltingPenguins said:
Both Wraith, Michael and Deathslinger are having Trapper's walking animation (i assume trapper is the base model/rig in general?), Deathslinger and michael since the 4.0.0 patch, Wraith since this ptb
I dunno what the devs are doing there. Normally such a thing means they changed something to the unique animations and they are not applied yet/a bit of code fell off
Wraith's animations from killer's perspective are bugged for a long time already. I believe the issue was there even before the patch with Blight, so yeah. Im aware about Michael btw, and i believe he walks like that in post-game menu, right? Which looks pretty okay i would say :D
-
Im all for testing this.
-
Pretty much this. Im getting this error too after 4.1.0 update every game and every time im just not getting BPs for the game i've played and end up on loading screen. I knew im not the only one experiencing this.

Here's my question! How do you change her without defeating the purpose of her? The purpose of Spirit is to trick and mindgame survivor's, and yes I read your 'ThErE Is nO MiNdGaMe WiTh HeR WhAtSoEvEr' from a player that also plays Oni, James, and Wraith, there is no mindgame when you have direct LOS on the killer in a loop or when all survivor's have to do is peek around the corner looking for the red stain! That defeats the purpose of a mindgame because your GETTING INFO and not lacking info
You either rework her or make her more interractive. BHVR could've reverted all the buffs that Spirit got after her release, such as change in the direction of whoosing sound during Phase Walk and survivors not being able to hear sound cue of Spirit's power while in her TR. Also, survivors used to hear Spirits breathing everytime she was about to come out of Phase Walk, but that was removed for some reason.
I don't know why Spirit got these buffs in the first place, because that was an overkill. Also i've already said HOW you can change Spirit without making her f-tier and make her more interractive at the same time: You make it so everytime she starts phasing, survivors are able to see her glimpses just like with the old Freddy. BHVR could've also fixed a bug where Spirit does not move grass, bushes and corn. They also could've make her footsteps in Phase Walk slightly louder. I don't want Spirit to be gutted; I want her to be atleast slightly more interractive.
Also i don't feel like i need to define for you what 'mindgame' is. Core of DBD is a killer chasing survivors. Spirit is different and this is why she hated so much. End of story.

Yep... spirit main here, too. I would argue that the problem lies in survivors being too dependent on the information that they're normally given. It's pretty similar to how survivors behave when the killer has undetectable or when their red stain is gone. Survivors don't know what to do because they crutch on that information.
Survivors do have a way to get information on what she's doing with spine chill, as the icon will go dim momentarily while phasing if she is standing directly across from you. You could also run perpendicular to the direction she's facing to make the icon go dark.
You guys have simply decided that she's broken and there's no way to counter her, and that's final. Yet, I've described a couple of ways you can know that she is phasing. I've actually said one of them multiple times in this same thread, but no one wants to tell me what's flawed about that approach.
I honestly don't know how relying on the information as a survivor is a bad thing. The entire roster of killers that we have atm is providing some info when they use their power, but Spirit is different. I love Rin with all my heart, but this is just.. Strange, to say the least.
I agree with you on Spine Chill part. Spine Chill in general is a pretty good perk, but i dislike the fact that you have to use certain perks to counter Spirit.
And i don't think that Spirit is broken. I think that she is uninterractive, that's it. Maybe she was broken before her addons and collision during phase adjustments, but i don't care about that since i did not use any of this stuff. The nerf changed nothing for me, too. But.. Idk. I just want Spirit to be more interractive, that's all.

correct me if I'm wrong, you started this thread to ask people why they disliked facing the Spirit. I gave my reasons for disliking facing the spirit. people said these reasons were incorrect because of x, y, or z, and so i'm defending my reasoning.
"play better, win more"/"If you were better you wouldn't mind playing against her so much." I dislike facing the spirit because I find her to be cheap (rich coming from me when I main freddy, I know) and that she takes a lot less time, effort, and skill to play well with and reach rank 1 with. I don't find matches as her fun, either playing her or facing her, hence why I stopped maining her after 2 months. I can still play her and get kills at rank 1 despite playing her for a game when someone in chat wants me to play her. imo that means there's something wrong there, but whatever.
i never said i died often to spirit- it's quite the opposite actually. usually i can escape frequently, like i can escape vs a killer who uses noed, or whatever else i dislike. iron will has become a staple in most of my builds, right next to detective's hunch. however, that doesn't change how much fun she is for me to face or to play, which is the main reason i dislike her, like i dislike old legion and love huntress, nurse, and billy. you feel like those three killers outplayed you and it was a true test of mindgames and skill. as spirit, its like a "oh, i guessed wrong". its not even a 50/50 guess, like a coinflip, because its skewed so far in their favour its like trying to do a backflip from standing, flipping the coin whilst doing so, landing it 1nm into your pinky finger on your right hand, on its side, with the face of the queen facing the moon as it passes behind the sun in an unanticipated solar eclipse.
i admit this game has a reasonable amount of luck involved, but if i fancied gambling with those odds id play in a casino.
Couldn't agree more.

Being a spirit main doesn't mean you are awarded insight for free. If you play her long enough you should understand how mind games work with her and how to counter them. There are plenty of moments where you can reliably assume she's phasing, other moments you can rely that she might not be.
Also, I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here, but a survivor can fake vault just the same as the spirit can fake phasing. "It's all just a guessing game, there's no indication whether the survivor is going to vault, or fake vault. They both run at the pallet in the same way."
Believe me, i've played Spirit long enough so i can tell you that there is NO mindgames with her whatsoever. Everytime you play against the Spirit you're playing into the game called 'well i hope that this guy does not have some good headphones'.
There is no problem with Spirit being strong. The problem with her is that she does not give survivors any kind of information about her actions. She does not chase survivors, she kills them without any interraction.
That was fun for a couple of weeks when DLC with Spirit dropped, and then survivors eventually started killing themselves on hook everytime i played Spirit. So i guess that tells something. She does not move bushes and you hardly can hear her footsteps while in chase thanks to chase music being loud. Relying on a bug with glasses on Spirit's body is not the right way to counter her. She is not problematic as she used to be, but Spirit still needs some changes.
And this is coming from a Spirit main who barely plays survivor.
-
The problem with Spirit is not her having no counter play. She is just uninterractive. The thing with Spirit is that she kills people and not chases them. This is why she gets so much hatred from survivors (which i agree with as a Spirit main).
I like Spirit. A lot. I've started playing her since her release. But the more i played her, the more i felt bad for survivors everytime i downed them on the other side of the dropped pallet while not providing ANY info about my actions. Surely, her design is not the best, but atleast she got changed not so long ago and Spirit is not as dumb as she used to be.
Although i would like to see some changes for her, so she remains strong and gives survivors some information about her actions. I liked Otz' idea on Spirit; Make it so everytime she starts phasing, you can see her glimpses just like with the old Freddy when he tried to put you asleep. This will also make passive-phasing addons more useful and will add some mindgames to the Spirit instead of 'oh, i'll stand on the other side of the pallet and wait untill you vault into me'. That's it.
-
Not to mention that crown on her looks really bad since you literally can't see it behind Spirits hair lol.
-
They don't work for me, too.
-
Can confirm everything that Scott said in the video. PC, Steam.
