Yeah I'm not fussed about realism in game. I just feel like it'd spoil trappers vibe. And yh but it would have counterplay. While he sets up a trap, surv uses the time to get distance and find another loop.
Doesn't immersion also play a big factor? I mean, it's a horror game, and actually, the HUD already diminishes immersion, so idk, just another reason.

By "clear counterplay" you mean "just don't be found" and "guess better"?
No, he meant you need to actually be good a guessing distance, where a player position could be behind a wall, and knowing how his anti hook debuff works.

This is complicated
If you want to see my origional idea just to see how exploitable it could be, and vague it was, then look here and say if you think I did improve it massively. https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/460778/what-if-dbd-had-a-new-item#latest

I said blight because you can literally just hide behind a big rock when he begins his power.

...im just confuses who this perk is designed for and what it would even do for someone.
So basically i can get free iron will and/or lucky break and a free dead hard while the killer chases someone else across the map?.
The idea was high risk, high reward, but I guess that's a flaw.

So, it would impact lower mobility killers much more than high mobility ones, and all you need to do is wait across the map to use it when you know the killer is on the other end and you'll get infinite free stealth until downed (which is much less likely when you don't even have scratch marks, let alone noise?) I like the creativity, but the risk reward definitely could use some work. Especially when it would do much less to high tier killers like blight and billy than it would to someone like hag or trapper.
I didn't think of that, so I'll pull bullcrap from my hat for balance: If the killer is moving below a certain speed when active, you must be within a certain range of that killer. And something I didn't mention, you can't activate it while on a hook or in the dying state.

that's a broken meta perk and also people would run distortion/shadowstep to get rid of tbe aura reveal
The idea was your aura is revealed by both noise and your actual aura, and couldn't be canceled out.
-
maybe it's underpowered. well then in order to improve it, that pallet breaks, the survivr gains hindered for 10 seconds, and bolivious for 30
-
To clarify, I wasn't talking about a character that only had a military background, I was talking about like uniform and stuff, but I now realize that maybe a survivor with camo could be overpowered in stealth.

The killer is blinded whenever they hit you?
So if you take a hit when the killer is carrying someone the killer will drop that person & get stunned?
You can use that 3 times as well.
That sounds obnoxiously powerful.
Maybe have it be exclusive to non-protection hits.
very fair, but it would only be usable once every three chases like I said.
-
I said Dustin, but I'ma be honest, I don't know too much about stranger things, I've watched the first 4 episodes so far.
-
I will say, I took some inspiration from the Roblox game "Murderthon", but I took it and tried to make it better and applied to DBD. So, not the most original idea i've had, but, it's still kinda original
-
Yes, I feel like it would be cool, IF, and this is a big if, your able to quickly do it during a game. now I like your current options, but I also have some more that could be added. Here they are: I'm injured, I have [current held item], let me heal you, I need healing, Can someone take chase, and Good job. Overall, sounds like a good idea.
-
@littlehoot said:
Sadly, based on recent history, the devs would never allow survivors to have any item that impactful. Any new item additions will inevitably be nerfed into oblivion and bloodweb clutter.
Damn, that's a little sad.

@ShootOut37 said:
what would be cool is disposable party blower or how would you call it idk (the one that stretches and makes high pitch sound). anyway - you drop it on the floor and it emits sound every time someone steps on it (survivors only when not crouched) after 10 steps it blows and dissappears. Would be usefull to set up like an alarm for stealth killers (or this can backfire during chase, if survivors step on it). But no notifications from entity, like when you fast vault, only audio
this sounds like a stealth counter. I love it, as a very loose stealthy survivor this would be my downfall.

If xeno hides behind objects he can avoid the flame turrets, but you can still make safe zones by covering multiple angles making them unavoidable. Add this claymore thing in and not only do xeno safe zones become worse but every killer can just be baited into safe zones built on a safe tile. Also, think about indoor areas. All you'd need to do is put them near a wall and the killer either has to moon walk (and probably loose chase) or get blinded (and loose chase).
The idea of a tripod trap is fun but really would need so much balancing and blinding just isn't fair for this kind of use case. I don't hate the idea of some kind of turret/trap/claymore item, just not this.
honestly, if i had to balance it, it would be that only one tripod can be placed per person and can't be close to each other (like, back to back)

Itd also be heavily exploited by bullies and sabo squads. It would make the basement almost impossible to hook in unless you are expecting a "claymore". Itd also be the easiest blinding tool in the game to use for vanishing from chases. Sabo squads would bait you to try and hook at certain hooks, break those and then you go for the only nearby one left and bang claymore.
And what i mean by the most annoying part of xeno, is swf teams like to make entire "safe zones" where they will always run to to make you much easier to loop by placing multiple turrets, and now also claymores lol
oh, the idea was if the killer moonwalks into it, it still goes off, but it won't blind them. also, if the killers goes behind the tripod, they can break it.
-
@ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:
That would take the most annoying part of playing xeno and put it on every killer + xeno lol
Damn, I thought I came up with something origional here.

I say Jason, and I really wish they could do it, but looking at it from their perspective, literally just getting one version of Jason is hell because there are too many owners for Jason from Friday the 13th, and would be a big pain in the butt to get permission to be able to add them to the game.

I think breaking breakable walls is the kind of perk that only benefits high mmr survivors and swf, while doing nothing for the casual player/solo cue. First you would need intimate knowledge of all maps and their breakable walls, as well as knowing which wall to specifically break. To add, there isn't a of walls worth breaking to begin with as a survivor, and most walls benifit the survivor by not being broken. I just don't see this being a very accessible peek due to the map knowledge needed to get value out of it. The same goes for rebuilding walls as there just isn't enough value in it and is incredibly map dependent.
I've been aware of that since i thought of the perk, but I aso think it can be very useful in some games. So i still posted it. You can revise it into your own idea that could make this perk more useful if you want, I'd be glad to hear.

Powering exit gates is a bit op, HOWEVER I like the idea. I would like more traps like the one on Nostromo landing, where it effects both survivor and killer (i think?)
Also, I've come up with an idea that i'd really like to hear your opinions on: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/460405/what-if-the-endgame-collapse-actually-collapsed#latest

I'd be open to hear your ideas for interactable parts of a map.

@mrpieseller said:
This is one of those things that is great on paper, but toxic players would abuse the HECK out of this
Then, If anything the killer would get a 5 second immunity to getting burning again after being blinded.

@Linkdouken said:
Giving survivors a perk to break a breakable wall or even rebuild one would be good but not mixed together with item recharge
fair enough, just didn't want it to be a perk idea for a very specific scenario that likely won't always happen.
-
It really depends on how they implement it, but I think yes. The character meets the criteria of what I think allows a killer to become a DBD killer: old or iconic figure, known for taking part in violence, has a weapon or claws, and also just simply known for being popular. The only thing that might hold it back, is the power, the joker doesn't have a power, but my idea would be a clown like ability. with the clown you can throw bottles that give effects, joker would throw laughing gas, that whenever it affects survivors they laugh hysterically and can't use their item, and also their screen becomes distorted. but, yeah, it if very possible. Also Alfred should also be a survivor.
-
I'm being honest, I'm the survivor that kinda slows down the game via slow stealth. So, I will say this: tactics are tactics, it's just what each side receives, but I'm trying to learn how to loop as I play, and also better stealth, like only crouching when I need to.
-
Krasue, they need to get rid of third person in head form, it's too OP with chases.

@09SHARKBOSS said:
maybe not stop tings already in effect like a wesker dash but stop him from dashing in the first place
AND NOT TEN SECONDS PLEASE
yes, it stops the killer from using their power. but okay, maybe ten seconds was a bit much. If I had to balance it better, I'd say 6-3 seconds, and by things in effect, i'm talking about togglable killer powers, and some that can be charged or aimed indefinetly.

I usually play as survivor, but when i play as killer, i struggle at literally doing what killers do, because i do ignore loopers, i simply just such with chase against normal gen rushers and all that.
-
@09SHARKBOSS , the whole idea is basicially dynamic hazards that move in the form of debris, collapses, and cracking in the earth below them and buildings they're in.

so when all gens finish the maps fall apart and actually has changes that aren't just visual?
yes, the whole idea is map hazards, the whole reason i came up with this. So now killers and survivors have other things to navigate while in the endgame collapse.

like the entity finally notices a new soul controlling its puppets?
More like the entity is more a part, and involved in the game. kinda like whenever in a god sim, whenever thing get boring, you would spice it up by throwing a obstacle in their way. Basicially, they're just more involved, the endgame collapse feels more dynamic, and it is more challenging for casual players, but not there to confuse new players.
-
I'm all for survivors, because i usually play as one. But i feel like removing that would kinda take away from the suspense and strategy of "well if i run around the map i leave a trail, but if i walk i'm slower but don't leave a trail" and that's kindawhat keeps games going. without scratch marks, games would probably be slower.

love the big storm idea weather comes into a big play with ambiance in games just like lighting and music so something more energetic and exciting would work well for egc when stealth goes out the window and brutality arrives
The biggest reason i came up with this idea is the fact that endgame collapse in the current dbd doesn't have enough action, and also the matches feel stale whenever it's just the same thing every time. You see, i wanted to change that, my idea was dynamic endgame collapse, where each map had 3 different collapse variations, the idea was it would make the endgame collapse more action packed and adrenaline enducing, however, my idea is it would only be available to players that have played more than 10 matches to ot confuse beginners, because I also care for those guys. basically, my summary: To make the endgame collapse more action packed and fun

@09SHARKBOSS said:
I said yes but my idea to add to this is make some pallets fall not shack but do make the weather on outdoor maps become more drastic more violent, have those glowing cracks in the ground be actual cracks that glow with the entity's anticipation or rage depending on how the killer is doing but still allow the people to walk over the cracks of "hard energy"
Honestly, that is a cool idea, my idea was for outdoor maps, the ground would crack below the player, or maybe a storm created by the entity with debris, but this also sounds like a cool idea. I wonder what other people will come up with, i'm always curious.

Short answer: HELL YEAH! Long answer: don't know that much about doom, but yes, I think it could be very fun.

I feel like this is because her head form is third person, and I honestly feel like it was unescesarry. I wish her head form was first person, does anyone agree?
