Monitor helps you get the first Frenzy hit easier, which is absolutely more important than the chain I'd argue. Even if you can't get the Frenzy chain, you can use the Killer Instinct to have a good idea of where other Survivors are. Tracking is very important on Legion. In their current state, their ability doesn't do an incredibly good job of slowing the game down, so you have to use tracking to its fullest and play ridiculously oppressive.
I run BBQ, Monitor, Thana and Pop. As for add-ons, I recommend a cooldown add-on and one of the rulers. Add-ons that increase duration are also very good to have. Even with the recent nerfs, I've been performing considerably well at ranks 3-2 with these perks and add-ons. Obviously I'm not 4king every game, but at the end of the day that shouldn't be your goal (especially not with Legion).
-
Not sure if it's been said, but instead of saying one killer is objectively stronger than the other, I'll advise you to consider your playstyle. Do you wanna play a stealthy killer you have to slowly power up over time for an incredibly strong snowball effect? Or do you wanna play a loud, not at all stealthy monster with map presence and chase power?
-
You have to know when to stalk and when not to stalk. If you're in a position where marking them and downing them would take less time than running the full chase, try to go for the stalk. Otherwise, it's good to go for surprise hits out of stealth. With recovery add-ons, I'd call Ghost Face a high-mid tier killer. Otherwise, just mid tier.
-
Post-game chat is pretty useless, honestly. If it's not just players exchanging "GGs", its more often than not ridiculous amounts of salt and toxicity. It does nothing positive for the game, as if players really want to communicate with one another, they do so in groups outside of the game. Discord servers, these forums, the subreddit...its just a pretty useless addition all-in-all.
Though, I have to be honest, I'd miss the few opportunities I get to meet a nice SWF and make some new friends. 😥

Either Legion or Leatherface.

No. Simply put I won't adapt because I find her entire gameplay more unfun and infuriating then fighting Live Spirit. Any time I try and play her it's just a chore and more too play her, she feels awful with the blink recharge, and too not even give her more MS base too compensate for how long you have too wait too blink was such an oversight.
Her old addons needed changes but Old Nurse base was incredibly balanced, and Optimal survivors did just fine against her and could still beat her, even with the fact pallets were useless. It was all about out mindgaming and juking her, instead of pallets. Even if she was strong before, there was still fair counterplay on both sides, now survivors just run foward and you have too follow like a slug and then try and get a lucky hit after the blinks recharge.
Her addons were completely broken with 5 blink and omega blink, the community pretty much agrees on that fact, but most of her addons are useless now. Most of them are farming perks, and the rest are either gimmicky, useless, or needed too try and recreate Old Nurse. her pink Addons are worthless, there's really no need for them besides gimmick builds. The addon that lets her have 4.6 ms after a lethal blink, but completely loose your power is a joke and not worth 5k. I may as well play Trapper but not place traps. The only 2 really good addons are blink recharge speed, and fatigue duration reducers.
Until she gets some sort of change too make her feel less clunky, I won't be playing her any more. I understand some people do enjoy the new Nurse, but I simply don't and I'm gonna keep voicing my opinion on why I feel she sucks and is unplayable. Telling people too "stop complaining and adapt" is like telling someone "get good" when it's simply not that simple. most people who tried PTB Nurse said she was clunky, unfun, and needed the base changes removed, the devs ignored all the feedback and pushed it live anyway, and as such here we are. The 2 things I want is too either A: Remove the recharge speed of her blinks and increase her Fatigue time for survivors too have more chances too escape, or B: give her increase movement speed so Nurse has a chance too catch up too survivors who escape the 2 blink, but won't punish the Nurse so heavily because of the recharge speed.
Yeah, you'll have to find a new killer. You can keep complaining, but it's not gonna change much. The devs gutted Legion and have barely done anything good for the killer since, and despite the overwhelming negative feedback, that's likely not gonna change. Nurse is still getting consistent results at her best, so they're not gonna touch her. I will agree they need to try again with a lot of her addons, they played it too safe and went with things that wouldn't lead to another 5 blink or omega blink situation.
Increasing the fatigue of blinks would feel way more artificial. No one wants to be forced to stare at a 75% black screen for 4 seconds because they whiffed a hit. At least the current recharge penalty allows players to get a good eye on where the survivors went to make a second attempt at their strike. Increasing the fatigue would also make chases end even more often than they already do, minimizing point value for both survivor and killer.
Also...
most people who tried PTB Nurse said she was clunky, unfun, and needed the base changes removed, the devs ignored all the feedback and pushed it live anyway, and as such here we are.
Look, man, I understand the frustration, but I personally can't believe that those of you screaming to the sky about it are the majority. I only see people complaining about it here on the forums, and the people on these forums have some pretty wild opinions that circulate among each other and don't really change for any reason.
At the end of the day, things are only gonna change if Nurse starts severely underperforming at her highest level of play, or if her play rate drops to a ridiculously low number. It may suck for you and other Nurse players, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
I don't really see the people in this thread changing the way they are all looking at the situation, so I'm probably gonna stop paying attention to this thread from here on. I hope you can continue to enjoy the game with another killer, or the devs can reach some kind of middleground that makes everybody happy. Cheers.

I mean, a sweaty SWF can make the game unfun for any killer, 4k or no k. But whatever fuels your ego ig.

Here's a list of Killers who do what you list better than Demogorgon for every point you make.
Pig does not use STFBL better than Demogorgon. Shred is way easier to make use of than Ambush.
Pig is probably my most played killer and I'd absolutely say Demogorgon is higher on the tier list by a considerable amount. Pig's ambush only helps her out at smaller loops, and her slowdown tool is RNG. Nothing about Demogorgon is RNG and his chase tool is considerable more effective and easier to use than Ambush. He's so much more reliable than Pig if you play him correctly.

I don't know what happened to demogorgan. In the ptb he was clearly strong as hell but since then I haven't seen a single demogorgan legitimately win a game convincingly. Maybe Survivors have all just learnt quickly.
I've played against quite a few Demogorgons who have beat me and my team even when I'm playing with friends over Discord. I also had some pretty decent success in red ranks perkless and addonless with Demo. I know red ranks only really represents play time and not skill at this point, but its worth noting. Demo has some pretty good strength, its just honestly really easy to play him poorly. If you don't make use of his portals you're giving up the map control and he's just an M1 killer with a narrow extended range ability. If you give up on using Shred, he's got the map control, but can't end chases earlier than most killers, so it ends up not mattering much.
I'm honestly surprised Demogorgon is listed as intermediate while Oni is listed as hard. 😅 Oni is really easy right now.
-
I wouldn't call him TOP. I'd call him high tier when optimized though. He still gets looped and his shred doesn't have movement like Oni or Billy's sprints, meaning it only helps at loops with straight paths long enough for him to use it. You can bait a survivor dropping the pallet and charge up your shred to break the pallet faster, but it still gives them plenty of time to get to another pallet.
His stealth really is not that important with those meaty footsteps. Why you'd consider his stealth a strong suit baffles me.
What makes the Demogorgon strong is his abilities to catch Survivors in risky situations from a distance, and his map control with portals. Placing portals at strong spots around the map as you play gives him ridiculous mid to late game control, and Shred makes it to where Survivors have to play really careful even when you're far away, because he'll snag a hit otherwise.
Most people who consider Demogorgon low tier probably place portals directly next to generators and treat Shred more like Hillbilly's chainsaw than a Huntress hatchet. Patience is key.

Otzdarva is probably the only person having fun with new nurse right now. She's super unfun to play against good survivors without CD addons. And i thought the devs wanted to make her more fun to play and play against lmao. Do YOU have fun with new nurse? I doubt.
Yes, I DO enjoy Nurse right now. She actually feels challenging to play now when she felt like a free win before even with basekit. I used to not enjoy playing her because I felt bad for survivors, but now I don't feel as bad. Nowadays she's far from my least played killer. That title will forever go to Plague because I disagree with how she's designed. After that is Clown.
-
Plague is just super flawed in design. She's not incredibly overpowered, but her power is very "damned if you do, damned if you don't" on both sides. Survivors cleanse and they get downed really quickly by an easy to aim projectile. If they don't and they aren't good, Plague has easy tracking and constant one-shots all games. If Survivors ARE good though, they don't have to cleanse at all, and they'll completely demolish Plague by making her power useless.
I honest to god hope she gets a rework eventually. I wouldn't call her healthy for the game at all. (Y'getit, cause she spreads sickness, haha 😜)
-
Some people have fun with new Nurse. Some people don't. That's okay. Personally, I believe the place she's in is healthier for the game because it gives survivors more counterplay to her fundamentally BROKEN ability. She can completely ignore survivor defenses. Her old basekit was more fair than 5 blink or omega blink, but it was still ridiculously strong. Super good Nurse players did NOT need anything more than her base to completely decimate an optimal survivor team. Even bad Nurse players sometimes got rewarded because they constantly got a second chance at landing their blink.
Not everyone is going to agree with the changes, but a lot of people like them. The devs are not going to change anything unless they see that the Nurse is underperforming in matches. I understand that there are a lot of people around here who aren't satisfied with the Nurse changes, but you cannot say that she is criminally unfun for every killer player. She's still one of the best killers in the game, and the changes aren't so drastic that she feels like a different one either. I hate saying this to people, but please, for the love of god, just adapt to how she is now.

I still don't get why some people care about ranks. There's no incentive to rank up yet.
Plague is perfect for this because she is horrible at ranking up but such a broken killer that it's piss easy to 4k with her.
DBD is not a competitive game. People just tend to take it more seriously than they should.
Play who you think is fun, not who you think will rank you up in a pointless ranking system.
People care about rank because its shoved in their face every several seconds and the game makes it very annoyingly clear when it believes you've done poorly. It's not about the benefit, it just starts to become annoying when the game is basically telling you that you're garbage because your killer is sub-par or because survivors are doing gens too quickly when its out of your control. Same could even go for survivors when they get insta-mori'd and depip for it.
-
The Demogorgon needs no costume. 😈
-
Oh thank heavens, I'm not the only one seeing them. I thought I was just getting terrible luck.
Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of keys lately. I'm just seeing a lot of people run the things that killer players hate the most recently. Object of Obsession, Instaheals, Keys...
I don't play survivor often, but maybe killers have been using Ebony Moris a lot more recently and the survivors are fighting back. 😅
-
@justarandy He had some things to be tweaked but I enjoyed him for the most part when it was still peer-to-peer.
Not sure if this is a controversial opinion or not but I think he was fine on live release and the nerf afterwards to assist console players was overkill and just made him more inconsistent and awkward for both sides.
Hopefully he can be fixed relatively soon, he's my favorite killer in concept. I'm gonna be buying his classic robes when they release.

If you feel the need to announce your leave from a game like this on its forum page, you'll be back within a week. It's attention seeking.
-
I used to. Eventually I realized that it doesn't really matter and I just need to focus up and prepare for a tough match. If I'm prepared for a hard one and it turns out easy, match goes by quicker than normal.
-
Everything you do except for custom games are ranked. What do you expect? Until a proper casual mode is added to the game, it's going to attract a very aggressive, competitive and toxic audience with only a handful of people choosing to ignore progression entirely to just have a good time.

Did you by any chance play a custom game in any of these instances?
"Some players have been facing an issue that causes partial loss of progress. We found one cause of the issue and are planning a fix for the mid-chapter update. In the meantime you can use this workaround: restart the game client after using the Custom game feature. Thank you."
If not, try restarting your game anyway. If it doesn't work, you can submit a support ticket here and detail your loss of progress to receive compensation: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
-
Ah, yes. A neon pink mask. Nothing screams "stealth killer" more than that.
Jokes aside, I'd always be happy to see more cosmetics for the ghosty boi.
-
Corrupt Intervention helps with killers that need time to set up. Trapper, Hag, /maybe/ Demogorgon depending on how you use his portals. Ruin can the same job, for all killers at that, but at the risk of an early cleanse. You can't cleanse CI. The counter to CI is hiding, which is why it's perfect for killers that need that extra time to set up. Otherwise, I'd say go for Ruin if you're only deciding between those two.
-
The PTB is not your free trial. It exists for the sake of testing a big, new update so the devs know what to change before it goes live. Not everyone goes on the PTB when it's around, meaning they need to gather as much data from the people choosing to play it as possible. Yes, it's true that sometimes a new update can bug other killers, but we all know that's not what you're concerned about. The players that own other killer DLC are sure to test their mains while they have it installed. You're just wanting to play killers or survivors you haven't paid for. If you wanna see how perks or killers work, look up videos. There are plenty of them. Don't lash out at the devs because you don't wanna pay for stuff. 🙄

I'd upvote this twice if I could.

Repositioning his portals wouldn't fix his core issues though. It's not any worse than Trapper, you'll have games where you place a trap down and it never gets used. You just play without it because it would waste too much time to go change the trap/portal location. Demo suffers from the same issue as all setup killers in that you have to be able to get early pressure in order to win. Repositioning portals is just a QOL change.
The difference with Trapper is that he's got an assload of traps around the map he can grab if he needs another and can't take the time to go back to one he currently finds useless. Demogorgon's portals are limited to only a few, and he can't change their position unless a survivor cleanses it. If anything, the counter to Demogorgon's map control is to not cleanse his portals if they're in a spot unhelpful to him. Demo doesn't need that much early pressure, because he can close chases really quickly with Shred if you actually know how to time it and don't fall for dumb 360s. Having time to set up portals helps a lot, but you can just place them down whenever during your gen patrol.
I think Demo is a solid killer, and allowing him to dismantle his portals would be all he needs aside from maybe an add-on rework in the future.
-
@ApeOfMazor While playing without Ruin is extremely frustrating, it's not impossible to succeed without it, even at higher ranks with lower tier killers. You'll struggle really hard against optimal survivors, but let's be honest, high rank optimal survivors either manage to ignore Ruin entirely or they find it in the first 10 seconds.
I mostly play Pig, Demogorgon and Legion. I have succeeded multiple times at purple and even early red ranks with these killers perkless. You need to understand your own flaws as a player, as well as the flaws of your killer choice, and work around them. Personally, my biggest issue was that I never slugged for a long time. I knew it would be a good idea, but I wasn't really good at gen patrol so I always found myself slugging for nothing and losing my survivor, so I'd just bite the bullet and go for the hook.
If you struggle with patrolling like I do, and don't know what gens to check on and such, I actually highly recommend Surveillance or Discordance. It's helped me tons on no-Ruin builds. If you're looking for other slow down tools, there's Thanataphobia and Sloppy Butcher. Pop Goes the Weasel can also help a lot but you've got to make it count. Surge is alright, but its use is limited.
I understand your frustration, as I've been in the same boat as you, thinking Ruin is a necessity, but it's really not. I actually believe it's an overrated perk. It's not SEVERELY overrated, as when it works, it does work really well, but the higher you get in the ranks, the less it ever works. Your only bet is really good gen patrol, slugging and trying to end chases as fast as possible.
-
Actually, @53nation @TheBean, from my experience, bringing an Ebony can help greatly in getting a double pip if you use it on a survivor's death hook to max out your sacrifice points quicker in the event that survivors either DC or rush the gens too hard preventing you from easily getting a 4k.
Also, as for everyone above, I'm glad I'm mostly not alone in my frustrations with adept. Hopefully the devs pay attention to stuff like this and tone the requirements down a bit.

Actually, aside from them being entirely reliant on RNG, Reverse Bear Traps do a pretty good job at slowing the game down, especially with tools like Crate of Gears.
Not seeing the box's aura will discourage survivors to try and remove them, since they're inactive then they don't pose any threat at all
At higher ranks, survivors don't bother getting them off until they're active anyway. This at least removes the option of getting them off first try before any pressure can be properly applied with them.
Survivors can search all 4/5/6 jigsaw box's WHILE their trap is active, so this further discourages them even more to try and remove them while they're inactive.
If a survivor has enough time to check one or even two Jigsaw Boxes in quick succession before their trap activates, it then lacks all pressure and slow down that it would have had if the trap would have been active before they could easily find one. Having only two left to check when your trap first activates gives the survivor a lot of leeway on getting their trap off, and can encourage them to continue to progress the game forward with their friends even with an active trap.
To top it off, survivors can stumble across jigsaw box's while their trap is inacitve, so they might give the box a go, if it goes off then rip the killer cuz one of her only 4/5 RBTs is gone.
Does this same logic not apply to when the auras are shown, if not more...? I mean, stumbling upon one and getting it off first try would suck, yeah, but it's even worse when the Survivor has a direct line of sight on one due to aura reading and it so happens to be first try without them actually having to search for it. It often prevents the bear trap from having the pressure it needs to have.
In my honest opinion, Reverse Bear Traps only need minor tweaks to become strong, game slowing tools. They don't feel exactly as they should, which is a heap of metal on your head bound to kill you if you don't hurry up, and your friends don't play smart. It's not some pretty hat that has some tiny consequence if you don't walk at a decently fast speed. I feel that shaving a couple seconds off of the timer per gen and keeping the auras of boxes hidden until traps are activated will help provide this pressure.
-
@TAG Probably would have been smart to mention you, but I was really tired when posting. My mistake!
-
I came up with the concept of the progressive RNG system because it sometimes feels as if the current RNG is swayed against Pig. I've seen more survivors get their bear traps off first try than I've seen them get it off last try, and I also hear the same from a lot of friends and acquaintances who play DBD. It does make it a bit more wobbly overall, but it significantly decreases the chance of getting your trap off first try, furthering it as the game slowing tool its meant to be.
As for shaving seconds off of the RBT, I feel like 5 seconds per gen would have decent enough strength as base kit. Pairing it with add-ons like Tampered Timer or Crate of Gears would likely bring very good results.
Rule Set No.2's first choice was built more around a fun little idea I had come up with on the fly that my friends thought would be fun. Since it isn't the most viable thing in the world, that's why I also included the more viable option of the slowed EGC timer. I agree it should be basekit as well with a stopped timer, but I don't think the devs will consider that, which is why I made it an add-on instead.
As for Amanda's Letter, do you think it would be more fair if I put the Jigsaw Box count back down to 2?
Lastly, for Tattered Testament, the downside for the add-on was added in consideration of pairing it with Last Will. With no downside, that'd be a bit ridiculous. I also took into consideration the addition of shaving seconds off of the timer per generator completed. "Slightly" would equal about 15 seconds I assume, meaning generators being popped would shave off at least some of those extra seconds should survivors get greedy. (Which in my experience, against Pig, they often do).
I really appreciate the feedback you've given so far, thank you for taking a look at it all. :)
-
iirc the devs have said that the reason ebony moris are more common than they'd seem based on their rarity listing, is because there's less ultra rare items to find in bloodwebs. like, there's only ebonies and iridescent add-ons, usually equating to about 3-4 ultra rare items in total to find in a bloodweb. rare items are a much bigger pool, which is why you're less likely to find an ivory mori than an ebony. however, if you add up all of your rare add-ons and offerings, and compare them to the sum of your ultra rares, you'll find you have many more rares.

You almost get 4k every game, but you think is mid-tier?. This is the main problem with killers, they want easy 4k every game.
he could also just be good at the killer and be stating the tier he thought they were? getting consistent 4ks doesn't mean your killer is god tier, it typically means you're a good player. nurse is the only top tier that can basically hand out free 4ks with only a little bit of practice and skill.

Get Nurses, BBQ, and Whispers. Whispers will help you gauge when to crouch. Nurses pairs very well with her crouch, and BBQ is BBQ.
Learn to dash at loops, and jungle gym mindgames. There's a great tutorial, while a little outdated, I'll paste here.
i'd advocate more for discordance over whispers nowadays, it helps a lot more to pressure gens as pig with crouch and ambush.
-
Hallo, Piggy main here. Don't know if the others would agree with me, but I wouldn't see this as a buff to her power. This would require her to cease patrol of generators too often to retrieve her RBTs. The amount of time spent per match grabbing traps would likely prove to be too much time for survivors to work on generators for completely RNG-dependent gen pressure. Plus, permanently losing a trap should it snap is more of a punishment for getting a bear trap kill if anything. Pig does not need any drastic change to her kit in order for her to become viable. Some small tweaks would make a huge difference.
-
No. Up until this it was a completely normal match. I didn't think I'd need to break out OBS and start bug hunting.

All generators popped. The trap on that player was active before the last gen popped. I watched them walk out of the exit gate as well, so I know for a fact it was not a hatch escape.

I wouldn't use whispers and bs at all. Are you really asking survivors for advice on perks in the chat after the game? :D
IMO Whispers is very helpful on Pig, I'd almost say it's needed. If you wanna take advantage of your crouch for more than just a couple loops, Whispers gives you a general idea of when you're close to a survivor, allowing you to take cover and crouch. It's more effective with M&A, but still helpful regardless. Also, I don't ask for advice, more so comment on the fact Ruin was cleansed in 5 seconds and they always suggest running Corrupt Intervention instead.
@Blueberry said:
Don't listen to them Corrupt Intervention is complete trash unless you're Hag or trapper. Ruin is just the best by far even when it does get cleansed early.
I think BS is a pretty bad perk. M&A is alright on Pig, but I think Bamboozle or the Enduring/Spirit Fury combo is a lot better. Discordance is also pretty good.
Not sure what perks you have.
I haven't tried Bamboozle yet. The Enduring/Spirit Fury combo is nice, but personally I feel like it forces me to not use crouch or ambush as much because without Whispers its hard to gain advantage with it aside from shorter loops.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/738/IPR4DE75O6I6.png Today, we are launching the first edition of the Dead by Daylight Developer Update. These articles have the objective of giving our Community a better visibility on our short and mid-term priorities and how each of them is progressing.
"That being said, we have made a lot of progress with the Freddy Rework in the last couple of months and we will be able to give more details next month."
Seeing as how this was Early/Mid-April, "next month" is this month. We'll likely hear something soon.
-
The new Legion is not that bad in terms of power. Yes, you get a free hit and its easy to keep people injured with Killer Instinct's tracking, but Frenzy has become so sluggish that he just feels like any other M1 killer now. He's not nearly as fun as he once was. That's the biggest issue.
