Did the Player Satisfaction Survey and saw a question regarding new modes, and got inspired to make a post I'd been thinking about for a bit. After taking a decent break from DBD to play other games (mostly Overwatch 2) my opinion on having a Casual vs Ranked mode have changed tremendously. Played my first game of the event. A very sweaty Dredge. I did gens, smashed pumpkins etc, and filled my bar all the way. Deposited the stuff into the rift thing. But, when I died, I don't know if I got a cosmetic. Please don't tell me you can't get the survivor cosmetic unless you ESCAPE the trial. So is there like...a legitimate reason why console players can't have anonymous mode? Even if it was unintended, anonymous mode worked just fine on console when it was there...so why remove it? How come PC players get anonymity but I have to risk being harassed by another player after the game just because I didn't play perfectly to their standards, or because I got a kill? This is a long one, but I wanted to write down my current opinions on the chapter as well some suggestions. Starting with Wesker: Wesker's infection should disappear completely after you get hooked imo. Fix his collision when slamming survivors against things. Reassurance, Kindred, and Borrowed Time. I usually go with either Desperate Measures or Guardian for the 4th slot. That increased unhook speed with DM comes in clutch when the killer is face camping hard. Though I think WGLF would fit into this build as well! Normally come here to complain, but I actually wanna give BHVR their props for addressing tunneling this update. Thx to the basekit BT buffs, haste etc, tunneling itself hasn't been nearly as much of a problem as it was. I've been running Kindred, BT, and Guardian in solo queue and getting really great results. Haven't played DBD in a week. Solo queue was just too bad and did not feel good at all. Figured maybe I'd give it one last try. Maybe killers had calmed down a bit or maybe my MMR was down far enough to where I'd get more chill games. Nope. Games still feel terrible lol. As a strictly solo queue player I've already gotten to the point (after 3k hours) where I'm not even expecting to escape. BHVR thinks we're going to stop using self-care just because it takes 30 minutes to heal. Nay. I will throw every game. Leave my team on every hook. Just so that I can self-care (WITHOUT BOTANY!!!) I feel like every survivor has at least one killer where they're just like "Nope. Just get me out of here." For me personally it's Nurse & Legion. As soon as I hear the Legion's music I let out the biggest sigh. Then it's Legion + Thana. Just get me outta here. So with the new WGLF buff, I was thinking that (in solo queue at least) that Buckle Up might actually be pretty handy and allow you to know when to run in to pick up the slug, and if the killer is around then they won't get slapped right back onto the ground because of the endurance. Will I be able to farm as killer to earn the masks and help the survivors earn them? I figured it would be like the last event with the snowmen, where as long as you get hit in the snowman or hit a survivor inside it, you'll randomly get a cosmetic for a killer or survivor once the game is over. The fact that Claudette isn't getting a Twisted Masquerade mask is actually criminal, it's abhorrent, it's unethical and, to put it simply, it is despicable. Considering she's literally the best OG. As I'm sure some of you know, I don't play killer to sweat. I usually farm. But I don't do it in a way that's boring for the survivor. I don't just stand around smacking pallets. I play just as I normally would until I 2 hook all the survivors, then I let them leave. But, I just had a game that was so insanely wholesome and sweet that I had to talk about it. So does anyone have any builds for Haddie's perks yet? I've been using Small Game, Inner Strength, and Clairvoyance with Overzealous with varying results. It's a fun build. I like cleansing totems and getting value out of it. But, I'm not sure how good Overzealous is. I knew it wasn't gonna be strong, but thought it could still be decent. I feel like I'm the only person super excited for Roots of Dread tomorrow. But honestly I always get really excited when new content comes to the game. One of the arguments I saw when BHVR announced that David was gay (As well as the Pride charms) is this: "This is a horror game. Why does their sexuality matter?" Or "This is a horror game. Since Boons are essentially the survivor versions of hexes. I wish there were some that weren't restricted to having an AOE and worked more like some of the killer hexes. I would absolutely kill for a Survivor version of Devour Hope . So, I'm a survivor main, and I've mostly been playing killer during the Bloodhunt for BP. But, I wanted to play Survivor and track whether or not the killers camped or tunneled and WHEN they did it. And whether or not it gave them a win. I do see camping and tunneling as a valid strategy at times, but some killers will camp at 5 gens and it's like...why? But, you'll see. I put in a ticket for support already, but I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue or if it was just me. Whenever I play killer, sometimes (not always) the game will just freeze mid-hooking animation. And it'll stay frozen for a few seconds then go back to normal. As I'm sure a lot of people are doing after the Anniversary stream, I'm grinding to Prestige 3 all of my survivors. So I wanna see how many characters everyone has P3 already and how the grind is going so far them. Currently, I have 10 out of 30 survivors P3! 4 characters are P2 and the rest are P1, with the exception of Jonah and Ash who I have yet to Prestige at all. What is everyone's thoughts on farming? As a survivor, I appreciate the break from usual sweaty games. I don't main killer, I suck at it and it stresses me out when I try too hard lol. But, I've been grinding killer tome challenges to get BP so that I can P3 my survivors. So I essentially just farm with the survs to get them done. Idk, I just have fun messing around with survivors. Why does the DC penalty system not the know difference between the game crashing and someone actively leaving the game as a rage quit. I've been trying to play killer (I main survivor, but killer gets more BP and I don't even have to try and 4k.) Camaraderie is one of the handful of perks in the game, that's sole purpose is to counter camping. The description reads - "While you are on the hook in the Struggle Phase, Camaraderie activates: If another Survivor is within 16 meters of your Hook while Camaraderie is active, the Struggle Phase timer is Paused for 26/30/34 seconds." There needs to be some kind of forced bleed out mechanic introduced if you're slugged on the ground for a long period of time. It's honestly a necessity imo. There's nothing that takes me out of a game more than being slugged on the floor for so long I get crows.
