To be fair, i dont think they were trying to resolve the issues that youre talking about. These things are definitely problems that need addressed, but if you look at the changes, this was strictly a 'change up the perks that get used the most' pass.
A lot of this backlash can be chalked up to bad (or lack of) PR on BHVRs part. They kinda built up the hype like they were going to address these issues when that was never the intention with this update, nor should it have been. Fixing some of the core problems cant be done simply by tweaking some perk numbers. They would be better off if they came out n said something like "were gonna make some changes to perks, see how that goes, then come thru with another pass to fix some core mechanics accordingly". Thats how i would do it, anyway.
-
Oh sorry, i misread that. You could try turning your resolution down either through system settings or in game settings. However, if youre having that big of a dip, it may be time to get a new GPU. Everything else youre runnin looks alright, although i havent checked the official recommended specs for dbd lately. You should be able to find those on the main site.
Edit: you could also try reducing your frame rate cap to 60. Wouldnt be able to play at the higher res youd like, but it may stabilize the dips while still giving you a decent rate.
Edit 2: youve probly already thought of this cuz you seem pretty thorough, but make sure you dont have other stuff runnin in the background (updates, programs, etc). That can also cause sudden tanks. Hopefully you just overlooked somethin cuz that would by far be the easiest fix.
-
Unfortunately, its not your setup. Its a server side issue thats been happenin to everyone for awhile now. If i had to guess, id say either servers arent bein properply maintained or they simply dont have the bandwidth to handle the current build. BHVR is aware of the issued, but as of this post, havent announced any fix
-
Your post raises one very important question that no one is asking.......
Did you bring enough pancakes for the entire class? π
The rest....ehhh, ppl are ppl.

Its been my experience that a lot of survivors underestimate him n get a bit cocky. Even tho hes not as strong as he used to be, hes got a crazy lunge n can hug loops a little better than other m1s. Combine that with knowin how/when to use tp to bait ppl into running or regress a gen n hes better than most ppl give him credit for.
-
We NEED a licker! It could be demogorgon mixed with gunslinger for twice the tasty action.
Also, if they make an outfit for the twins where victor is the little guy from RE4 (been too long, dont remember his name) and charlotte gets one of the druid cloaks i would totally buy their dlc just to have that π
-
As far as we know, botany isnt losing its secondary effect. Self care is. Unless they forgot something in the patch notes id imagine itll stay that way.
-
It does that so survivors dont have the hassle of trying to break the hook whilst bodyblockin me on the way to my dead hook. Survivor life is rough. This is the only logical conclusion

Just to clarify, I'm not saying they are perfect. Some values can be adjusted, but they already said that they will be looking at stats and doing adjustments. The game has grown stale and desperately needed shakeup. I commend BHVR on having the courage to try something new.
On the killer side, I'm happy that DH is changing.
On survivor side, I'm happy that camping and tunneling was addressed.
Yes, I get it, some perks were made essentially useless. Ruin is an example. But that perk was unhealthy for solo queue. Survivors who don't have comms can't efficiently coordinate looking for the totem. I can keep going on with example, but I don't want to make a wall of text.
I can prove you wrong with 2 letters... bE π
Joking aside, i dont think these changes are gonna be as 'doom n gloom' as ppl think. Was kinda hopin theyd go nuts with shiftin the meta. I doubt this will change it much at all

This ^^^^
poiple turtles always know the way

Its always satisfying as a killer when you pull that off. Congratulations, my friend. Enjoy these moments when you can π
-
I would love to have this in the game. Theres many times when i just lose track of it with everything else goin on or somebody went into 2nd stage on hook earlier in the game n i didnt realize it. The ppl that wanna tunnel know exactly who theyre goin for. Its those of us that try to spread the love that lose track of hook states.

While more BP wpuld obviously be nice. The new queue incentive bonuses will more or less make up for it.
It'll always be at least +25% for one side or the other, and most likely +100% for killer during peak times.
The problem with that is that the entire idea behind those incentives is to balance the amount of players on each side. Once there is balance, theres no need for a bonus. That is their intention. So the way i think it will play out is early on, bonuses will swing wildy as ppl chase those points until one of two things happen. A) matchmaking finds its optimal balance, thus minimizing or outright eliminating the need for bonuses or, B) the more likely scenario, an increasing number of ppl will feel like the role they want to play always gets the shaft and us vs them mentality will increase to a point where more ppl will leave the game or become more toxic than they already are.
-
This will most likely never get seen, but ima try anyway. I have a solution for the lost BP bonuses that could be done basekit.
Killer: get 25% per 1st hook on a survivor, up to 100%. Once any survivor is dead, stacks can no longer be gained.
Survivor: get 25%, up to 100% for safe unhooks/protection hits. Also get up to 1 stack per trial for each of the following.... complete a full gens worth of progress, heal a total of 2 health states on any other survivor, stay on death hook for the entire duration without missing more than 1 skillcheck.
If youre reading this, please upvote it in the hopes that devs can see it
-
When it gets like that, open season.
To all the killers that try to play in a way thats good for the game, thank you. Its not always easy, but its appreciated (even if it doesnt always seem like it).
To all the survivors that put up a good fight, without crossin the line into unnecessarily annoying, thank you too.
To everyone else, you know who you are, stop it.........get some help π
-
Right there with ya. I was very tempted to finally do it with all the BP flowin right now. Wouldve been sooo many regrets

Nah Gramps, i just wanna play some good loops. Realistically, im still gonna lose that chase....id just like to be outta unhook animation before that happens. Now if he hits me with the backwards z-glide moon hug 480 turbo grind ollie walltech while checkin his DMs....well, thatd simply be awesome n get mad respect

OP may not realize they are applying the survivor rulebook to killers so they can "earn" a "good" label.
I agree there's some lame-o ways for killers to play with hard camping at five gens, but if you've seen the accusations I've gotten over the years on situations that are most definitely not camping of any sort, yet are called such. You'll come to the same suspicious mindset I have reading your post.
Why don't you hop into killer and show the deplorables how to play killer competitively and good.
I actually play more killer than survivor, though split fairly evenly. When i say things like hard tunnel or camp, thats what i mean. Not just an "oh, the killer was on the map so he tunneled and/or camped" type of thing. While i may be new to the forums, im not new to the game. Ive pretty consistantly hit iri 1 on both sides ..even back when that mattered.

This is probly the most unhinged rant ive seen tonight, but i do love me some Wraith lol keep dinging, my friend π

@GannTM said:
They camp and tunnel, so they must automatically be bad?
Yes. Any killer that feels the need to hard tunnel or camp at 5 gens is bad. Especially using a stronger killer. Just personal opinion.

Blight is an incredibly difficult killer to use. The overwhelming majority of Blight players are bad with him. Same thing with Nurse. That's why they never get nerfed: for every 1 SSS-tier killer you encounter playing those characters, there are 99 F-tier killers failing to play them.
Thanks. It was an honest question. I dont own Blight. Id imagine hes hard to get down, but my only reference on him is content creators n they make everything look easier than it is. Everyone always says hes a high skill cap killer, just thought id see more of that in game.
-
Pretending to give someone hatch or exit, then killing them anyway....or at least, draggin it out for the full length of EGC. That gets a bit annoying and/or toxic after awhile.
-
All i know is Clown shoulda got a whole suit for the party. Cant have a proper soiree without a murderclown
-
Overall, the changes seemed pretty reasonable. I actually think they might be playin it a little too safe. Was kinda hopin for some major shakeups...ya know, give some long forgotten perks the full god treatment or somethin crazy.
Only thing im really disappointed about is the removal of BP bonuses from the 2 perks without any reliable replacement. The matchmaking bonus is a novel idea, but the whole point behind that is to find a balance so that they dont give a bonus. And as much as im intrigued by the new prestige perk system, its not really doing anything as far as buying our way through the bloodwebs. I honestly think the removal of (mostly) reliable BP bonuses is going to hurt more than ppl realize.

Heres a list of all possibles for anyone that forgot

Only thing you can do is look for the icon that pops up when you unlock one. Itll be in the bottom center of your screen for a couple seconds when you exit the endgame screen of a match. The icon will show which one you just unlocked and say x/12 to show the total number of unlocks you have. To find out which ones you have youll hafta look on each possible characters cosmetic page.
-
I dont really get the point of doin it for a special icon. Ive never prestiged anything n im not gonna start now. Really happy i waited to see what they were gonna do.
-
Ive had a surprising amount with just basic pinhead. If you throw on any crazy perks/addons, yeah...the DCs flow like water.

Basekit BP bonus idea
Killer: get a 25% bonus per 1st hook on survivor, up to 100%. Once a survivor is dead, you can no longer gain stacks. This would encourage killers to go after different survivors and maybe reduce tunneling a tiny bit.
Survivor: basically stays the same, get stacks for safe unhooks/protection hits, but without the full safety of BT. You could also add in something like 'doing a total of 100% gen progress during a trial rewards a single stack. Can only earn 1 per trial'. Just to give players a little more incentive to do a gen.

As others have pointed out, while the perk grind will be reduced by 75%, BP gains also just got cut by 50% for ALL players. In the end, this is doing next to nothing for newer or more casual players. Entry level grind is the #1 reason most players dont stick around. I know because over the years ive tried to get sooo many ppl into this game n not a single one of em stayed.
I like the idea of the new prestige system, but if you dont make significant changes to increase BP alongside it, its going to be dead in the water. Some potential que bonus is never going to be able to replace guaranteed double BP.

Walk around him at different angles until he gets unstuck, then lead him away. Ive ran into this a few times. Just gotta find the right spot.

Nah thatβs frustration after dealing with a lot of unfun matches, beyond his control. I know how he feels. Weβve all been there at some point. Let him vent.
It is frustration, and yeah, definitely needed to vent. I also posted it in part cuz i actually like this game n i want BHVR to see these types of posts in the hopes that theyll make things better, for everyone in the game. It feels like were on an unchecked backslide lately....n it probly pisses me off more than it should. These things (on survivor or killer side) arent new, but they seem to be getting worse.
-
At absolute best, 20%. Most days its probly around 5-10%. Idk if its just the time of day i can play or im stuck in mmr hell, but i almost always get paired with teammates that arent quite as good as me and killers that are hardcore gamers. Not sayin im god tier, but i can hold my own. Unfortunately, it feels like the game thinks i can carry entire matches....i cannot. Now im trapped in this cycle n dont know how to get out.
-
Im k8nda starting to wish there were some sort of in game LFG. Feels like i always pull teammates that seem intent on playing dumb.
-
I think it has somethin to do with rubberbanding (on either side). Ive only had it happen twice over the past couple weeks. One of those times, i jittered right as i got the hit n it didnt count. Just a guess.
-
Also get it if hatch opens when youre alive
-
Its been pretty rough. Ive only had a few matches where all the gens got finished, much less any doors gettin opened. Most of the time ppl dc/give up or run around like headless chickens. A surprising amount of ppl that refuse to let me heal, too. Took me 6 matches to get the 'heal 3 ppl with aftercare' challenge cuz everybody was self healin in front of me. Idk....ppl are playin weird
-
We do exist π
This was not a farming match. I got my 2 hooks on everybody, then slugged em if they got down again. I think they caught on to was i was doin n slowed down on gens a bit, but everybody still gave it their best. Made for some fun, strong chases n good cat n mouse gen play. Sadly, only one other person brought the flan, but it was a fun game...id imagine for everybody.
-
Yes, rank reset points do get added above 1 mil. Same is true for any active BP codes online. If you play games or turn in challenges, those do not get added if youre above 1 mil
-
The curated map thing was before the event, so its just a bad run of RNG. Seems to be happening more than usual though. Most nights its like 2 maps show up n thats all i get.
-
Completely agree. I always try to play nice, whichever side im on, but it definitely feels like an uphill battle. You can still win matches without bein a total jerk...just wish more ppl saw it that way.
-
Its my party, n ill cry if i want to
-
Used to be you could still get it as long as you double pipped. I have no idea if it still works that way

Embrace the suffering!!
Also, stop stealing my screenshots lol
Damn bloodweb addiction...............

Hi I'm pretty sure I was the nemesis in this game (although I might not be!), and I made a forum account just to post this so it took a while to get approved before I could post.
I felt really bad about the DC, despite it making the game easier on me I know how much is sucks for survivors to get a disconnect early on because it sets the team back so badly. Plus it really felt like a rage quit and not an unavoidable DC which makes it worse.
That being said, you shouldn't feel like you're "wasting" your cakes! They only cost 3k bloodpoints, so as long as you do even a little tiny bit okay in the match you're coming out with a profit and so does everyone else. There's no need to feel spiteful towards others so much so that you set your own goals back!
I know the game can be frustrating (I am a killer main after all) but don't let a handful of bad experiences set you back so much that you let it ruin the event. I know that I've at least personally let survivors go after getting a few hooks just as many times as I've played the game normally, and no matter what everyone is coming out of it with more points than they normally would.
Keep your chin up, and remember that the bad moments always seem to stick out more than the good ones but there's plenty of fun to be had
Hello, welcome to the forum π
Let the pain n anguish wash over you like a cool summer breeze (its not as bad as the 1st page makes it look lol).
The frustrating part is these are good results in event solo q. Solo is always bad, but this is just nuts. I can count on 1 hand the number of matches ive had that played out decently. Im not talking everbody farms n escapes, just regular well-played matches...win or lose. 95% of my games so far have been early DCs/give ups, or killers that hard tunnel off first hooks until everyone is dead.
Usually I average 25k BP in a match. Add WGLF n standard cakes, get around 75k.
This event, majority of games, survivors barely walk out with 10-15k (in a good match). On average i see 2-3 cakes in a match (even when i use em), so were talkin totals around 45k BP with the added irritation of not bein able to play decent matches.
And yes ppl, i play killer. I use cakes on killer n rack up tons of points. Its just been my experience so far that usin em in solo q is a waste. But i have to play survivor for tome challenges, ergo...suffering.
Wing, if that was you, you suck for murdering my face off π jk, i dont blame you for playin the game. Hope we meet again someday....vengeance shall be mine!! π€£
-
What he said^^^
As long as youre alive when EGC starts, youre good on survivor (provided you grabbed one of the post).
Id strongly reccommend doin it on killer. Just gotta finish the match, doesnt matter what happens.

Doing stupid things from time to time is the ONLY way to maintain a shred of sanity in this game
