if there was no connecting loop (that spawns very rarely) it was most likely a cheater.
They had a gen out there with a half wall and some rocks on the backside. They just kept loopin main building.
I gotta wonder. It's kinda messin with my head cuz I've never had anything like that happen before. Don't really keep up on all the latest hacks, so figured I'd see if anybody's heard of this type of thing before.

The wall was broken. It's the first thing I do on that map. Had LoS the whole time, other than a fraction of a second walking through door while looking at survivor. Nowhere near long enough to drop chase and lose any bloodlust.

It's not a bug, it's a feature!!!
Gramps' explanation seems likely lol

They still show up in lobby, sorta. Now it's just a red bar if any of em are bad at that moment. I've had plenty of matches where everything was fine in lobby, then in game somebody will be runnin 120+. So I'm not sure it's a very helpful indicator, but it's there.

No it's there, I saw one but for 49 bucks no thx on that lol. Maybe If I didn't already buy the game on steam. I read ST may come back by this Christmas today that someone posted mid summer, but I guess it fell through?
Cool. Been awhile since I looked. I think $49 is more than I've put into the whole game lol Stranger Things could come back some day now that Netflix has given up on their own game studio, but probably won't be anytime soon. BHVR could be reluctant to do another deal with em after the way the first one went down. Caused a whole lotta headaches and they most likely made less money from it compared to other licenses. Usually when a property is active and popular the parent conpany takes a much higher percentage.

I didn't start playing DBD until after the Stranger Things DLC was discontinued. However, I was still able to buy the content from a third party and I now have Nancy, Steve, and Demo. In fact, Demo has become one of my main Killers. So you can still buy Nancy if you really wanted that character - just not from BHVR.
This is true. There were physical copies of the game that came out with the Stranger Things chapter. If you find one of those you can get the characters OP.

I dont think altruism is what youre talkin about here. In general game terms, altruism is ideal and gives you a better chance of survival.
This just sounds like salty people that dont wanna die alone lol

Basically, gift points don't count towards your cap. These include login rewards, BP codes, monthly reset points, and I believe daily challenges...but I'm not entirely sure on that last one. They exist seperately and have no cap. They also get spent first as someone mentioned above.

In most cases, 3 gens can be broken. I just ran into a Knight running Eruption/CoB/Overcharge/NWTH on the MacMillan map with the little mine shaft where basement spawns (dont remember the actual name). He had 3 gens at that shaft with basement, pushed everyone to the other end, then spammed his guards at the chokepoint so nobody could get through. 45 minutes later, the match ends at 1 gen left because everyone gave up and died. He NEVER moved off of it and even working together, none of those gens ever got past 10%. How is that a valid strategy and NOT considered taking the game hostage?
-
Probably won't get fixed til after the holidays. Until then, just bookmark the forum or make a quick link on your homepage and ask/search questions here. Pretty good community when we keep our heads outta our bums

I get what you're sayin. People that have been around awhile remember when most maps were pretty small and there were only 1 or 2 safe tiles. You used to have to know how to run a tile the right way and if you made the slightest mistake you were punished. Second chance perks weren't really a thing. If you wanted to heal, you better find a teammate. It made the survivor experience a lot more fun and engaging. It made things tense. Now all of that's gone. I can play survivor with my brain in autopilot. I miss the old days
-
Slightly off-topic, but sorta not.....
I would be far more excited for chapters if they didn't get leaked weeks in advance. Just kinda sucks out all the fun and I definitely felt it with Project W.

I think it's the addons making everything so much more difficult, thanks for the advice.
I think maybe I'm just not a good survivor.
I can't loop well, it always feels like there's nowhere to do it. Whenever I get to a spot, it turns a 10 second chase into a 15 second chase and that doesn't mean much or do anything for the team. Everywhere feels like a Deadzone to me.
Somethin you can do if you wanna get better at general looping and stuff. On Youtube, look up OhTofu. He had a really good series on fundamentals from like 3-4 years ago. Sometimes he'd also review gameplay that people sent in. A lot of stuff has changed since then, but most of the general tips are still good. Like, tiles have a certain way to run em to get the most value (different directions for killer/survivor), best ways to hug a loop, and how/when to most effectively turn your camera to see killer. There's a bunch of things that just make more sense when you can see it played out with instructions. Other than that, just keep playing. After awhile you'll start puttin good runs together without even thinkin about it.
-
^^^ these are everything you need to know. If you're still struggling, go full stealth. Stay out of his terror radius and line of sight at all costs. Go work on gens far away if you have to.
-
Yes, people can play however they want. Their choice. However, the ones that play the hardest seem to be the ones that don't get as much enjoyment out of the game. Ease up a little, even just a couple games a night. Your sanity will thank you and you might find that there is more fun hidden in the game. The standard get kills/rush gens strategies are boring after awhile. Challenge yourself or just have stupid fun from time to time.
-
Also, thanks BHVR. Always enjoy free points 😁 and Holly + crew pics

I only play on console, maybe I was just lucky but as a PS4 player I did not experience this at all.
I think it was more common on ps5. It was kinda sporadic, sometimes it'd work...sometimes not. There were a bunch of strange bugs happenin with that release.
-
I think it has more to do with survivor quality than perks. Eruption and gen slowdown can suck, but there's ways to play around it all if you know what to do. It seems like more often than not when a teammate gets hit with incapacitated or sometimes even DMS, they just run around all crazy. Idk if its panic or frustration or what, but dont run straight towards the killer or out in the open. Hide. Wait it out. Pull a chase that lasts more than 10 seconds....something. Seems to me like everyone simply gives up at the slightest inconvenience these days.
-
This is why they need to change MMR on survivor side. Being active (chases, working on gens, taking protection hits/hook trades, etc) should be the primary factor. Escaping or dying should mean very little in the algorithm. I'm a decent player, but my escape rate doesn't reflect it cuz I'm the type that'll make a sacrifice play to get someone else out. I get punished pretty hard for that, but abandoning teammates seems like a crappy way to play in a 4v1.
-
It acts as a seperate multiplier. They don't compound anything anymore. So it multiplies your base score before addons for each bonus, then adds each of those together. The math is correct. 38 x 4.09=155.42
I think you're adding your base score a second time. It's already part of the equation, so 400% bonus is the same as 4x your base score.
-
Until they actually do something, try playing console with cross platform on. I use cross platform and occasionally run into cheaters, but nowhere near what there is on pc. Ques are normally only a couple minutes (depends on time of day).
-
Iron will seems like a good idea on paper, but I think it would cause bigger issues. A slow, insidious killer is not that big a deal. Silent injured survivors could definitely hold a game hostage towards the end. I've already had a few games that got dragged out to 30-40 minute slogs because healthy survivors wanna troll.

Like there is anything to learn when dropping a ultra-safe pallet for killer. I guess you want me to learn how to press spacebar at the pallet. Ask the killer-bot AI to do it. That breakable wall should appear on all safe pallet loops in the game for m1 killers.
I don't think killer need a breakable wall at the window. you can learn to push the survivor counter-clock wise at a window from the pallet-side. I have no complaints in regards to the window.
those Buildings did have nothing going for them. With the breakable Wall you can at least use it once as Survivor.
It still wastes my time as killer which is free generator time for survivor and free secondary objective at the start of the game which no killer asked for. survivor should learn to loop T-L walls instead of free time-wasting loops like garden of joy dining room loop.
Ohhh god i hate that damn garden of joy loop. Every single survivor runs there in every damn chase. Never fails. That's one map i hope they scrap or change. Really don't like it from either side.
-
Same here. I always follow the bonus. Doesn't really matter to me which role I play unless I'm doin certain archive challenges. Hope they rush this through cuz it's definitely effecting que times.
-
Any ping over 50 can easily be enough to cause strange latency hits. Doesn't take much. Sucks, but there's not much that can be done about it. I had a Nurse do somethin similar the other day. I was bein chased on RPD 2nd floor. Dropped through the library hole as the Nurse blinked. On my screen she hit me mid air then finished blinking to the 1st floor. On their screen I was probably already on the ground. My ping was at 48 and there weren't any killer ping warning bars.
-
As a couple people have said, if you're being chased by guard (green circle on your icon) the chase ends if you unhook. Worst case scenario, the knight is there and hits you after unhook. Try to put the hooked person between you and the knight if he's sittin there. Then he'll trigger BT almost every time and you can still take a protection hit to help them get away. If the Knight is staring directly at the hook, unhook from his left side. Knight swings his weapon slightly from his right side. It's enough that he'll hit the person on hook pretty much every time.
-
You must be gettin the lucky break. It's been nonstop sweats over here in eastern NA. Almost every killer I've ran into is playin like it's a cash prize tourney, even when survivors are runnin around in snowmen lol
-
Lately I've been playing impossible skill check Doctor when survivors irritate me. Idk why, but I always get a chuckle out of all the missed skill checks poppin around the whole map.
-
I'm ok with Legion when they're not running Thana, Sloppy or one of the ridiculous perks combos like that. Can actually be a little fun if you have teammates that know you don't group up. Best tactic I've found against Legions is to just keep moving. Make em run the whole map. If somebody gets deep wounds and you hear the TR, run the opposite way to pull em from the team. Never fully commit to 1 gen...keep em guessin. I've had more than a few Legions dc cuz I make it a pain in the ass for em to run me down. It's kinda like a chess match. You gotta anticipate their patterns before they know what their plan is... most Legions I've come across get really bad tunnel vision and you can use that against em.
-
I've not tried it yet, but infinite T3 Myers could be fun if it works. Just walk up n instadown em haha
I've been using snowmen as a survivor to terrorize my teammates. It amuses me to watch them freak out as I chase em, then they round a corner into the killer snowman. Ok...the last part only happened once, but it was freakin hilarious
-
It has been unusually sweaty, even for an event. Not ALL killers are super sweatlords, tho. There aren't many, but we do exist lol I'm almost always a nice killer unless ppl are playin scummy....then they get the turtlefang
-
Isn't it beautiful? T.T
-
It's really hit or miss. Depends a lot on what time of day you play and what region. Sometimes I can go a couple weeks and everything's good. Then I'll get absolute garbage matchmaking for a week. There's a big gap during events too. You'll get a lot of people coming back that haven't played in awhile or new players jumpin in just for the event. It'll balance out after a bit.
-
I think they could make marking a bit faster. Like if telephoto lens was basekit it'd be a lot better. I've seen how good GF players play, but those tactics REALLY don't work well on console. Tryin to pull off quick ducking in n out or lean marking mid-chase isn't very effective on the controller layout. It's just too clunky and awkward.

Frankly, I'm just having fun doing tier 1 myers that only attacks while in snowman form.
The only killer I came across in a snowman was a T1 Myers on Midwich. It was fun. I danced with him in a snowman at the gate until the entity Frosty'd me lol

Don't you just love when you play super nice go for all 12 hooks, never hooking someone back to back, never camping and yet survivors still dc preventing you from completing a challenge.
I'm with you op DC's should count as kills. Especially since when killers DC it counts as an escape for survivors.
Playing nice does seem to screw me over more often than not. Ima keep doin it cuz Im a sucker like that, but I definitely see the appeal of just playin super dick mode all the time lol

@Seraphor said:
Eh, maybe DC after a hook state has been made.
But if someone DCs at the start of the game, you haven't killed them, and it makes killing the others easier.
8 of my 9 DCs were downed and/or on death hook tonight. (3 of those were a SWF team, all on death hook. I downed 1, he DC'd and the other 2 followed him. 2 gens left.) The last guy was probably a legit DC. It was mid-match and I was nowhere near him. Think I only had 1 hook on him.

@LordSturm said:
I've been thinking this for years; DCs should absolutely count as sacrifices.
Too many times I've seen people rage quit specifically just to deny the killer that "sacrifice 4 people in basement" challenge, among others.
Kills already don't even always count properly (I was doing the same challenge, and it would count my kills -1, so if I got a 4k it counted 3 kills, and if I got a 1k it counted 0), and this would be some relief from that too.
Those basement challenges are a whole lotta nope. I skip right over em. At least with this one, I'll get it at some point. It's just irritating. But basement....ehhh, think I'd rather pull my fingernails off with a rusty butterknife lol
-
Havin the same problem with teleport/hit challenge on ps5. Also cant place trap after teleport and aim assist after tp is off the charts...just attackin walls. She wasnt doin this before last patch
-
I am having the same problems on ps5. I also cant complete the teleport/hit daily challenge (which seems to be a random bug over the years) and the aim assist after teleport seems cranked up to 11. I dont play Hag often these days, but she definitely wasnt doin this before the Knight patch.
-
Any kind of down works. Although i didnt have anyone bleed out to deep wounds....so idk bout that. Everything else seemed to count, including 1 locker grab
-
This is most likely a licensing issue. The property changed hands many times and kinda got piecemealed throughout the years. Depending on the deal BHVR cut, it is quite possible they dont have access to many of the characters. The Hellraiser series is a bit of a spaghetti nightmare on the legal side of things. They could also be respecting the wishes of any actor/actress that may not want to be involved, so i wouldnt rule that out either.

Imagine a world where Artist is op 🤣

Hag was my first main before I committed to licensed killers, before I was sure I was going to spend money on the game. I kind of miss her. I loved placing traps by the hook... And people said it was bad, but man oh man did I wreck some kids with those hook traps. I remember the first game I went for a 4k slug and just drew on their corpses. I even made up lore where Hag was rejected at art school because all she did was draw triangles and she took up karate to vent her frustrations in a healthy manner. It explains her pallet break animation, at least. Rofl.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 thats freakin awesome!!!!
Definitely miss the Hag days. One of the most fun killers to play when shes not gettin completely stomped. The body block add on is still one of the funniest things theyve ever put in this game.
-
Definitely switch up your killers. Hag is absolutely terrible to play at higher mmr. Anyone with more than a couple hundred hours will easily know how to counter everything she has. I dont remember which killers came with the base game, but id highly recommend wraith. Ppl give him a lotta hate, but hes actually better than ppl give him credit for once you learn how to mind game with the bell. He can also be played very aggressively n that seems to make ppl panic. Might be your best option for base kit killers in high mmr. Try all the killers you have and find one you like that does better. Any of them are better than Hag.
(It makes me sad cuz i mained Hag many years ago when i started, but she totally sucks in the current build)
-
You were on the map, therefore you tunneled and camped. That seems to be the new definition. And if you used any perks, they were op and should be nerfed immediately 🤣
-
BHVR doesnt make license terms public, so we will probably never know. For most licensing agreements (at least in media) theres an initial upfront charge, then the license holder will get a flat percentage of direct sales for the licensed product (say 1.5% of each dlc unit). Then they will usually get a smaller percentage of company profits over the term (say 0.1% of quarterly revenue). Every company negotiates their own deals so it could be structured however they decide. This is just an example i made up of how most license agreements are structured.
-
This is not a failure on the devs end
