Love Nick Cage. Drama n PT are 2 of the most fun perks they've ever put in the game. Not the strongest perks, but fun, and you can get decent value out of em if you play it right.
-
-
Sounds like they were holding the game hostage to me, so yeah. I'm guessin they were the only 2 left?
-
Yeah......I've been gone a few months and boy, did I pick the wrong day to come back lolz it's been an endless stream of Sweat-Wesks and I'm just tryin to remember how to play the damn game.
It's not forever Freddy by any means, but it's reeeaaaallly annoying. I just wanna get some cakes and loot.
-
You could be blocking/breaking the initial chains without even realizing it. Sometimes when you're moving forward in chase the chains can actually spawn behind you. They'll hit you, get cancelled out, and you'll never even know it happened. I think Otz or somebody did a video on it, but it's been awhile ago so I don't remember. This isn't a new issue. No idea if it was intended or just an oversight by BHVR. Unfortunately, there's no way around it. You're kinda at the mercy of RNG chain spawns.
-
Get some headphones (or better ones) or get your hearing checked. Not even bein snarky....his sounds are pretty loud and obnoxious. Kinda sounds like somebody with a serious sinus infection breathin in your ear.
To be fair, it's not as loud as gen notifications or music if you're in a chase, but once you've heard it, it can never be unheard.
-
I haven't come across any flashbangs on Eyrie, but they sound normal on other maps. Could be a bug specific to the map rework. If you get a clip of that happening I'd say post it in bug reports.
-
As others have said, pipping and rating are now seperate things. Pipping still works the same for the emblem score and represents your overall performance in the match. Rating is now only based off how many kills you get. They did that to simply things like adept challenges and certain tome challenges. Now if you want adept trophies you know the only thing you have to do is 4k (or 3 + hatch). It takes a lot of guesswork out of it, especially on instadown killers. Myers, for example, could have a phenomenal match that ends in a 4k, but wouldn't get the trophy if most of the downs came from quick tier 3 hits. You'd only get half of the possible emblem points for chases and hits.

Plague picking up Corrupt Purge from a Devotion pool?
It almost kinda sounds like that, but not quite the same. And it can happen anytime, without Plague.
-
Yup, it's got me a few times. Once I got the incredibly rare "Ima loot this chest next to the window on a stupid corn map mid chase" achievement. It was funny enough that I almost didn't mind getting camped to death by Bubba.
-
These kinda posts make me think there's a large segment of the playerbase that should stick to single player games
-
This is such a strange post. There are perks that reduce pallet stuns, break pallets (multiple ways), block pallets, block windows, hell....some killers have fake pallets or can vault pallets. Have people simply run out of stuff to complain about?!?!?!?
-
I know exactly what you're talkin about. No idea what it is, but I've heard it on several maps when playing killer and survivor. It's just a random ass clonk. Pretty weird.
-
Merciless storm. Don't see it often these days and it's not hard to hit the skill checks, but it's freakin annoying.
For killers, Spine chill. I like sneakin up on people and this just kills the whole vibe.
-
It's the participation trophies..... 🤣

Ok, so quick question. You said they were 2 banks. I had 55000 last night, and today I have 2001223 after reset. Because I haven't played long enough for the reset to happen yet, this is my first. If there is two separate banks like you said, I should have 2055000 total if I had Iridescent grade 1 for survival and killer right? Little confused lol. Anyways not a biggy just trying to understand.

You should, if your previous number was right. Not really sure what happened here. Maybe you spent some n forgot. Maybe the game derped out. It's hard to say.

I've offered myself as sacrifice far more than it has been offered to me lol

Both of them are wired
Welp, that gets rid of the easy answer. I've never really heard of anyone runnin into this problem on DBD (PC). You could try clearing your cache, but I doubt that would help much. I'd say start with cleaning your keyboard thoroughly. If you live in an area that's dusty or has high humidity, that can cause issues. After that, do a virus scan to make sure you haven't picked somethin up. Could also mean your keyboard is damaged, so you might want to have it checked out. It's hard to say.
I'm not aware of any in-game or system settings that would cause that, but you could try looking up configurations specific to your computer on youtube. Might find something that way.
One other thing I can think of. Make sure you're not running other things in the background (like downloads, windows updates, etc) while you're playing. DBD can be kinda finicky when it comes to cpu usage. Could be sucking up bandwidth.
-
Are you using a wireless keyboard or mouse?
-
That is a long running conspiracy theory. Personally, I doubt BHVR would use such a sophisticated algorithm....but it's possible. The most likely answer is what &_ said above
-
It will show the animation. Once the gen unblocks, it will start regressing. That's normal.
-
For future reference, because it's not really explained in game, there are 2 BP banks that mix together. Your gameplay BP caps at 2 million. Earning points in game will never go above that if you don't spend em. There is also a seperate unlimited bank for "gift" points. These are things like login bonuses, online BP codes, monthly reset BP, that sorta thing. They have no cap and can make your BP bank go above 2 million. When you spend points it will take them from the gift bank first, then from your gameplay bank when gift points are gone.
What I like to do is spend down til I'm at 1.5 mil, so I always have a nice chunk in reserve. Once I get close to 2 mil, I spend points wherever til I'm back down to 1.5 mil. Just gotta keep an eye on em. If you do that and save completed tome challenges, when you unlock a new character you'll have plenty of points ready to go.
Also, sucks that you lost points. We've all been there lol
-
If you think Lithe doesn't take skill, you're using it wrong. A lot of people just hop through windows at the first sight of the killer. A good player knows how to milk a loop for all it's worth, then use Lithe to get to another good tile and take full advantage of that one too. It takes strategy and planning to get maximum value out of Lithe. You need map knowledge to know exactly where and when you're going to use it because it doesn't simply activate at the push of a button anytime you choose. If you're sittin on a gen in an open field, you always have to know your escape routes and which tiles you can get to if the killer shows up from any direction. You can't just SB away to a safe tile. Lithe is a thinking perk....if your tactics are bad, you won't get much value from it.
-
Basically, you won too much, too fast and the game dropped you in a tank of sharks. Happens a lot to new players because it doesn't tell you anywhere in game to go slow and figure things out before you go full rampage on other new players in the protected lobbies. (The old ranking system explained that a bit, but it's gone.) Unfortunately, there's no way to go back. Just keep playing. After about a month or so your matches should balance out a little. It'll be somewhat trial by fire, but you'll get better with time. Don't give up. Play your matches all the way out and try to learn somethin every game.
-
If you've ever gone rabbit huntin, this will make sense. He's a flanking killer. You wanna use the guards to push survivors where you wanna go, ideally before you're in chase. If you know where the survivors will run to get away from the guards, you want to come in from a flanking route so they run straight into you. This will probably be a little easier once the ptb changes go live. Think of your guards as a distraction....harass people with em to push them towards you or away from objectives. If they get a hit, cool that's a nice bonus. If you set your patrol routes to just try and get the guard to hit, you're gonna have a rough time.
-
Something a little outside the box that could be really good if people used it.... an in game tutorial mode on advanced tactics. Soooo many players lack some of the skills that are vital to playing this game. There are tons of great tutorials on youtube, but a lot of players aren't gonna watch em or don't know where to look. If there was something in game that maybe gave shards or somethin for completing it, might be a nice stepping stone to bridging the skill gap....or at least get people thinking about the more tactical elements of the game.

ToTT is actually a fantastic suggestion.
EDIT: Oh wait, hang on.
Can't you just run a mori on like Ghostface? That would give you both exposed and a murder.
Techincally that should work, as long as the totem is still active. Idk if it'll count them unless the totem is at a certain number of hooks. Never tried. Could be worth a shot.
-
Use undying and thrill of the hunt (i think, whichever one makes totems longer to cleanse). Throw some pentimento in there too juat to slow gens if they do get a totem. Finally, use Hag to trap the hell outta totems and defend them at all costs with her range addons. Go to Midwich with that build and it's practically guaranteed as long as they don't dc
-
Should it? No
Will it? Probably
People will find any excuse to be toxic, especially if they're "losing". We already see people complaining that someone was healing before immediately unhooking while the killer is within 5m. Yes, Bob....I'm healing so we can both live and the killer can walk away. Stop trying to 4% yourself, Bob. You didn't die on hook because of what I was doing, you died because you have the patience of a toddler and left me with no good options lol

Yeah, I guess we can add this to the list of issues this game has that revolve around internet connection/latency.
Edit: Watching the actual video, nobody had bad connection though. I assume no one did because none of us nor the killer had a red bar. If anyone would have a bad connection it would have been me, since I am the only one who isn't in the West.
Bars don't always show up. They're mainly there to indicate a prolonged ping issue. Since your friend got off after a few seconds I'm guessin it was just a spike. Happens if you're playin on wifi. Just get a short little derp at the right (wrong?) time that makes weird things happen. The list of strange derps in this game could probably be its own forum lol
-
That's a connection issue. Happens from time to time. Somebody in the lobby had high ping. Sometimes it's just a spike and resolves itself, other times someone's about to legit DC and you get stuck like that.
-
When they implemented the new MMR system, everything got reset because it was a new system. Sounds like what you're dealing with is not related to MMR.
Survivors and maps are significantly stronger than they were 3 years ago. The game moves at a faster pace now and pressure is more important than ever. Give yourself a little time to adjust to the new playstyles. Maybe try to get some of the newer, stronger perks. I think you'll be just fine once you play awhile.
-
Nah, it shouldn't have any effect on blindness. It will still do what it does now.
-
I'm confused by this post. Yes, the extra second off wiggle will be gone. Survivors will no longer wiggle out faster for hitting great skill checks. Instead, great skill checks will bump the killer around slightly more. This actually gives you 1 extra second to get them to a hook.

Its not that Nurse with Startruck and 3 Slowdown will be any difference to Nurse with 4 Slowdown.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3310320#Comment_3310320
The game has really weird time concept perspective.
As killer, chase a survivor for 15sec longer, feel like losing 45sec Gen. But chase a survivor for 15sec shorter, feel like only save 15sec. There for the feel of always need slowdown, even in reality not needed.
Maybe I'm just lucky (?), but the Starstruck Nurses I run into aren't botherin with gen slowdown perks right now. Usually just a combination of aura perks and other exposed. Eruption/CoB/Overcharge/PR Nurse doesn't sound pleasant. Least I could outrun/avoid exposed perks.
-
We cannot overlook the fact that no matter how terrible the build is, scratched mirror Myers is the most fun you can ever have with a killer. I would play him all the time if addons weren't so stingy

Even with Empathy theres no way for you to know when a survivor is about to go down, because you dont know what the killer is doing. Also I prefer Bond to Empathy.
Oh I like Bond too, especially with Open Hand. Empathy just guarantees you can see the important part of a chase. If you learn to read chase animations it's not hard to tell when someone's about to go down. Takes some practice. I get it right roughly 90% of the time, but I've been usin Empathy for years. Even starting out, if you're off a gen for 10 seconds that's still better than 25. The nore you do it, the better your timing will get.
-
Just throwin this out there. Using Empathy and being good at reading chases can hard counter the annoying part of Eruption. I rarely get hit with Incap. Let go when they're bout to go down. Tap gen right after explosion.
-
This is definitely a "be careful what you wish for" scenario.
And everybody thought 3 gen Knight was bad......
-
He has gone........
His people needed him.............
-
Ehh, I think once people get used to using them there won't be too many complications. Players will figure out a rhythm. It may not be a perfect system, but it's far more than we have now.
-
Yes, all killers will now get to ride the Demo dog and leap off of him to do a special attack based on their power 😁
-
There's an option you can toggle in settings that breaks any action if you run. Turn that on.
-
I'm not saying this to be mean. If you're constantly going down to the guards, you're doin somethin wrong. Seriously, they are easy to outrun as long as you don't try to loop em. They can also be stopped by droppin a pallet on em or grabbing the flag after you hear the bell sound. Grabbing someone off a hook instantly stops a chase too.

I think both need addressing and I think tool kits and medpacks need change (in fact I think many items could do with mixing up). I started a thread about this (which, to my annoyance got moved to the feedback section and got lost). But I suggested that tool boxes shouldn't impact repair speed, but rather lock in a % of repair. For example, the brown tool box will allow you to lo k in 10% of repair on one generator so the gen cannot regress beyond that point (I.e. it will regress back down to 10% minimum and stay there to be built back up again. It would not be useble mid repair to lock in repair at 50% though, if that makes sense) and medkits shouldn't stack with boons. I also thought boons should be changed so only one boon of each type can be up at any one time. So I think there is fair change to be made in the counter to a regression stacking nerf..
Agreed. I could get behind the changes you're talkin about.....might be some potential there. Gen speeds have gone off the rails in both directions and it's definitely a problem. They gotta find some way to pull em back in.
-
Do you feel the same way about survivors stacking gen perks with toolboxes or healing perks with medkits? It could also be said that killers can't take chases because 3 gens will pop in 60 seconds or hit n run tactics can't work because people heal up in 5 seconds. Killers bring strong builds because survivors bring strong builds because killers bri...... it goes on forever. That's the nature of PvP games.
The lightborn thing is just weird. Stop trying to blind the killer at every pallet and window then that perk is completely useless. How does that even remotely compare to exhaustion perks? Makes no sense.
-
I don't think there is a way to balance solo q, for a variety of reasons. The biggest one that it seems everyone overlooks is that most people play it like a SOLO game. It's not and if you play that way you're going to lose most of your matches. I've gone entire nights of solo q'ing without ever seeing another player take a protection hit, hook trade, pull aggro from an injured teammate, hit a successful f.light/pallet save, team heal, or gen group after the spawn gen. SWFs do better because, in most cases, they will do anything to keep their friends alive as long as possible. Solos hardly ever play that way, but when you're lucky enough to get people that do it's almost always a win. Start playing your solo matches as if you were in a SWF and you'll have better results. BHVR can't fix that. WE have to fix it. Until people realize that, solo q will continue to be miserable no matter what changes they make.
-
Unfortunately, pandora's box has been opened. The meta war will never end. If there is a way to exploit a perk or combination or mechanic, people will find it. Dead hard, Prove thyself, omega toolboxes, Ruin/Undying, Eruption/CoB, camping, tunneling.... it all goes round n round. Players in any PvP game will always find the easiest way to win and flock to it like lemmings. I like the idea of speed caps or diminishing returns, but I don't think it'll change anything. People will just find the next way.
-
Don't think about it. After awhile you'll just hit em all the time. Let it become a natural reaction. Seriously, the more you think about it, the more you'll miss.
