I've never understood the term "fair killer". I will allways tunnel and camp when i think it will give me the best chances to win. Usually camping is terrible as they just do gens and tunneling is also bad because you know they might have ds, so it does discourage tunnelling in most cases. Even if i get hit by ds it might not allways be a good idea to tunnel that guy if you have better targets.
I would say that for killers like me that just want to win the game DS is very healthy for the game and it really discourages me from tunneling people.

They could do that. So the killer would need to get 8 stacks. Which would reduce camping even more.
But only when WGLF also gets 8 stacks and here is the problem on how survivors could get those stacks realistically.
They could add heals to count as a stack and picking up survivors from dying state.
-
Multiple people working on a gen already recive a penalty to repair and as a killer I honestly prefer having 3 people working on a gen than 3 people working on different gens as they go slower and i can apply pressure to 3 people at a time. I agree about the part of games being so fast especially with the new upcoming (unnecessary IMO) ruin/undying nerf where games will be a stomp for either side.
-
I can't even loop and i'm 1/2 survivor playing solo. It's honestly just play time and do not ragequit/######### on hook and you will pip even if you die.
-
Of course, it's not only ok, it's what you should do if you have the chance, if you remove one survivor early you have much higher chances of winning. Remember, never try to appease the opposite side, just try to win, they will never be happy with what you do anyways.
-
If you can only pick one i would not recommend blight because it is very hard and his meta perk is getting nerfed hard.
Legion is not a strong killer but has good perks and is quite easy to play.
Oni has terrible perks but is strong and doesn't take much practice.
Clown has some useful perks and is getting a big buff so i would really consider it.
Deathslinger takes aiming skill and is really strong but his perks are garbage.
And the twins has opression wich is cool but i don't know how strong he is yet really.
I would choose between clown and legion if i was you, those are really good picks.

Ruin Undying still is a good slowdown. I don't think you can call Devour a slowdown, it is simply a game changer as soon as it activates (as long as you play a killer that does mainly M1). The thing is, you need to get there and up to that point you have a 2 perk game with no gen slowdown. So it depends if you managed to be good enough or if you already lost 3 gens. If they stop doing gens for 1 or 2 hooks while they cleanse the totems and then need to go on again with 2 perks vs 4 survivors, you again have no slowdown. So you basically have to win the game before they finish the cleansing. I wouldn't call it slowdown
Have you seen the totem spawns in the new reworked maps? They might aswell put and LED panel saying "CLEANSE RUIN HERE". Ruin is dead with the new undying nerf, pack it up guys.

Its absolutely ridiculous that there is close to no counter measures against all players being slugged all at once. Sure there's like, two perks out there that are rare and few in-between in the bloodwebs, but I fully think that if all players get slugged before even two generators are done that the first slugged survivor should be able to get back up in a deep wound status (or some variety of pick up) to give everyone a shot. Because not everyone has or runs deliverance, and even that is only good for first hook IF you're lucky enough to unhook someone first. Even running with higher ranked players this is a problem that I still constantly run into.
If they ever do what you suggest i can assure you that i will either quit DBD or just play facecamping bubba.
-
Lmao imagine staying less than 10 meters from each survivor when playing against bubba. Stay close to windows and throw pallets, stay away from other survivors.
-
Blight is like a much worse nurse, dashing around but without being able to go through objects and can't attack on the first blink. It demands so much mechanical skill for what it skill ceeling can achieve. I prefer investing time in other killers.
-
Lmao that's me every time a survivor teabags or does the clicky clicky. Do not disrespect a bubba or you are giving him a justification to camp and ruin your game.
-
Ghostface or bubba. WIth ghostface i will allways get tunneled to death, with bubba i know that if i'm down i'm not getting off that hook.
-
Rule number 1 of DBD. Never try to appease the other side, just have fun of your own, you are not anyone's babysitter.

You do realise you don't have to eat any DS at all? If you are so inclined to follow that unhooked survivor but afraid of almighty DS, just drop him and go for another one.
And let a surv rescue him or him getting UB therefore missing a hook state either way.
-
Yet another rant about DS. Yes i got it you have +5k hours, you need a challenge and DS gives you the potential 4th hook state you want the survs to have so you can get your shot of adrenaline. Some of us just want a fair match and think that there should be another less frustating way to disincentivize killers to tunnel and at the same time not force survivors to pick this perk (at least one of them per match).

I don't understand why pipping is so important to some people. The system is flawed in a way that favors people with playtime, plus anyone in red ranks would love the chance to de - pip into purple ranks.
Even with the incentives it's kind of meh. The rewards are bloodpoints, and anyone with a couple BPS and BBQ could earn more than 500,000 from a couple matches.
"Everyone in red ranks wants to depip to purple". No i don't, if i go derank i have a higher chance to play against new players and have a boring match.
And I specifically said AFTER the update when ranks won't matter in matchmaking and only for the extra BP rewards. I don't understand how something so benign could bother you in any way. I think it's just complaining for the sake of complaining at this point.
-
I came to the forums because i had a lot of questions to make and nobody to ask them

@herrik666 said:
This is about the chaser emblem, which counts the hits and chases in a match. All insta-down killers have this issue where they don't pip because they have half the chases and hits than other killers, which is quite ridiculous. The fact tht a hit with Legion's power conts the same towards the emblem than a chanisaw hit for Bubba or Billy is downright stupid.
I hope we can reach the devs and they tweak a bit the numbers, seems like a totally uncontroversial change and easy to make.

I get that a lot of people don't like Ormond and I completely respect that. As a color blind player, I like Ormond because it's one of the ONLY maps where I can actually see scratch marks against the light colors. Just about every map is so dark and the dark red is nearly impossible for me to see. Also I can actually see hooks on Ormond whereas I can't see hooks easily at all on dark maps because they just blend in with all the other dark stuff. I lose so many wiggle-free survivors because I'm going after the closest hook I can see the outline of but can't see the one right next to me because it's the same color as what's around it. I'm new and need to learn the maps, true, but it's still frustrating.
Wait #########. Is there no color blind mode in this game?

Or you don’t down the same survivor who was just on hook. And you won’t be DS. And if that’s too hard. You can slug them.
If you received a DS then you deserved it
if you got matched against nurse you deserved it

Slug. You have an unlimited amount...AND if you don't tunnel, you won't be dealing with 60 seconds, you will be dealing with a shorter timer, so if you slug it won't be for 60 seconds.
lmao

Ormond isn't that large of a map:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6SSCFI1VSKX2/image.png
In fact it's like, at the middle in terms of sizes. Also, from my games on there as killer, it's actually a pretty balanced, arguably slightly killer sided, in my honest opinion, due to the unsafety of a lot of the pallets. The issue there stems from Blight being pretty ######### on that map now, because bumping on a lot of the new objects are difficult to bump on.
But yeah, my point being it's not that big of a map. Not at all.
In my experience it's the most bullshit map, the fact that tracks just don't show up makes me lose so many chases

freddy was the most picked killer before these changes were made. check the stats.
What stats? Plus even he was picked 20% of the time it doesnt change that it can go up to 30%. I will certainly stop playing pig and go back to nurse.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Maybe they know there is balance in the combo of DS + Unbreakable, because what they counter are built-in mechanics that can be used MANY times during a match.
As a killer you can tunnel as much as you want.
As a killer you can slug as much as you want.
With 0 penalty whatsoever. Not even a perk slot required.
But, sure, let's keep "claiming" there is no counterplay to those perks, even though one has a timer attached to it, and can be further reduced by not actively seeking them as a target... while making the other useless by reducing the recovery timer needed.
"Not actively seeking the target", guy with ds runs right to the killer and has to wait 60 seconds or eat it.

I'm actually hoping for it. Since ruin+undying I've been facing less and less Spirits (Freddy's stayed the same since Freddy players are something else) but guess what, survivors asked survivors should be served. And it's exatcly what you've said, since medium to low tier killers won't have the pressure that this combo allowed, those players will be using stronger and reliable killers.
I'm certainly going to stop playing pig and going to 4 man slug with nurse.
-
I just hope survivors wont complain when suddently everyone is using spirit/nurse/freddy and slugging you to death.

I get it. But there really isnt much competition in solo compared to SWF.
To me having a perk that gives the position of the killer to all survivors all the time as long as one survivor is seeing him without taking any perk slot is the definition of a competitive advantage. Damn i would give 3 perk slots just for that one perk playing solo.

Why not just, ya know, dedicate one of your 4 perks to a totem perk like killers usually donate one or MORE to Gen Slow Perks?
What? No!! Only the killer must have boring slowdown perks as mandatory meta perks.
-
Honestly if you can't comunicate with your teammates just cleanse if you think it's good for your build. I would only not cleanse if you see that other survivors are not cleansing and you are the last to get infected. I don't really feel that not cleansing gives survivors an advantage. I don't have a lot of experience as plague but i think i actually prefer survivors not cleansing at all, they are easy targets to track and down.
-
I wouldnt care about situations like this if the end game points system reflected on this. You should be more rewarded for keeping the killers busy imo, i think the 8k cap is too low.
-
I think more than balance issues it might be dedicated servers. Some killers got hit VERY hard with the introduction of dedicated servers and players might have gotten frustated and just left. For example hag can't tp-hit anymore, the moment she tps the survivor is one sprintbust away from you already. With Ghostface you can't lean to corners without wasting time, with killers with precise shots (huntress, deathslinger, pyramid, plague) bullshit happens all the time and a single milisecond is often the difference between a hit or a miss.

@Pulsar said:
In my opinion, it's caused by the imbalanced difficulty of getting to Red Ranks.
As Killer, unless you play Legion, it's fairly difficult to pip and get to Red Ranks. There is nothing to boost you and you have to be at least semi-competent to make it there and stay.
As Survivor, it's extremely easy to pip, even as a Solo. You can be boosted by SWF (like me) and never de-rank even if you belong in Green Ranks.
This causes a massive amount of Survivors in Red Ranks, but not a lot in Purple or below. This allows Killer queue's to skyrocket for those in those Ranks, but, it means that Red Ranked Killers will almost always have an instant game.
Additionally, Red Ranked Survivors will face longer queue times, but Purple and below will generally have short queues.
Just my opinion, based off Xbox NA Servers.
I found to be the exact opposite. I got to red rank as killer 2 second week of game without even knowing that i could do a lunge attack or that i could use more charges of my chainsaw as bubba. As survivor i guess it's easy to pip up if you get carried by swf but since i play solo i've needed a lot more hours to learn how to loop.
-
I've only been playing the game for a few months and can't understand how did people want to play as killer when infinite loops, op spear parts, vacuum pallets, etc existed. I would certainly have refunded the game that's for sure. I don't think most of the killers that stopped playing had stockolm syndrome.

@unluckycombo said:
Ngl, if they removed SWF, I would stop playing this game. It's the only reason I play it so consistently- I like having fun with my friends in casual SWF, and KYF just isn't as fun.
However, I can give you some notes as to what I would personally change about SWF which wouldn't cause it to be deleted or just unfun to play:
-Give killers a BP bonus for facing a SWF. Encourages more Killers to actually face a SWF, instead of just insta-dodging them. Also helps lessen the BP grind, which is nasty on both sides- especially since Add-Ons can make or break a killer game.
-SWF Perk Lock-Out. What this means is that it would follow what seems to be the normal tournament rules for Survivor perks that you see in DBD Competitions- No more than 2 perks of each type for Survivor. So, pretty much if you're in a 3 or 4 man SWF, you can only have two players run DS+UB, or 2 Dead Hards. If the Devs were super concerned about what this means for casual SWFs (Like the four man Head-On squads), they could just base it around the most popular Survivor perks based on pick-rate. This would help encourage perk variety in a SWF, while also making it so it's not a complete, constant stomp on the Killer. I also think that this should lock out OoO for the entire SWF, since it's a really nasty perk.
That's just my suggestion though. I agree with most of your Killer changes- though honestly, I wouldn't touch genrush with a 10-foot pole until other things in the game are messed with. It's a pretty big, multi-faceted issue that I really don't think has one simple solution.
Now that you say that i wonder if people that play SWF stopped playing this the que times would get fixed. Maybe removing SWF from the game would kill 2 birds with one shot.
-
When i do it is to either get protection hit points or in case i need to save a survivor that is still in danger. I wouldnt take it personal unless they are tbagging you.

aren synergies the reason other perks are good? Is ruin bad because it needs undying? Is deception bad because it needs other locker perks?
some perks need synergy to reach their potential
Ive been having a lot of success using surge surveillance on most killers. Does that mean surveillance is bad? No
Again, you are using 1 perk to compliment another. We are talking about having to use all perks to compliment this one and still its not good.
-
It might be my personal skill and my encounters with him but in my experience with the killer Blight is garbage tier, i think i agree with all the rest.
-
I trust the devs for their reason to not release the stats if this is what they think is better for the game. The last time they released kill rates nurse was the worst performing killer and pig was the best and i really don't want the community pushing for changes or picking perks/killers based on stats, as I think we would see even less variety. I'm sure that there are meta perks that have low win rates and obscure perks that have really high ones.
-
You said it yourself, you need 3 other perks to make it slightly ok so no, it is not even close to good imo.
-
I recommend using Kindred especially at lower ranks since killers tend to camp more.

The data that they use to make changes based on killers is from the top 1% of killer players.
If they made survivor changes based on the top 1% of survivors, well there would certainly be more survivor nerfs than what we are seeing.
But to be honest I don't think we need survivor nerfs. We need a solo player buffs.
Bring solo survivors up to the level of an SWF team. Then buff all the killers accordingly. Then every survivor would have the tools to succeed if they work together.
Exactly, there are many ways to balance this yet they don't do anything.
-
And then people want to nerf ruin/undying and pop.

BBQ is literally two perks in one. But what is really interesting about it, is that even if it were indeed 2 separate perks (one for tracking and another for bp), both would still be S-tier. It's strange that they never thought about nerfing it.
Survivors have a similar perk for bloodpoints: We're Gonna Live Forever. But that one only gives bp stacks, and nothing else: it doesn't give any actual gameplay functionality like BBQ does. And I'm not even reminding that it takes a lot of sweat to get all 4 stacks on WGLF while you can always get all 4 stacks on BBQ without sweating much, since you only have to hook survivors once.
Do you even play the same game as i am? WGLF also has 2 effects. I agree that it is not as easy to get the extra bp as BBQ but to say that it has no in-game effect is being intentionally blind, it is very useful.
-
I use this perk even with Pyramid only for the BP. If it didn'tt have that effect i wouldnt bother using it with i think any killer.
-
lol no

I once had a survivor that didn't teabag me at the exit gates, but then maybe his Ctrl key was probably broken. Still pretty wholesome.
