  • Yes it takes longer to heal but overall it actually saves time.

Healing yourself takes 32s but taking time to find someone and then remove them from the gen for 16s could take longer. Then both of you are off a gen which adds up to 32s of less gen time overall.

It's also helpful for last minute saves if only a couple of players left so you can take a hit if the killer comes back.

Its a very useful perk for players who are not as confident in the ability to run or lose a killer.

It has its place but I think some of the new perks may take it's place for a lot of players.

While I approve greatly of the Archives / Lore part of the upcoming features, I am severely against the idea of a Battle Pass. The game already feature overpriced-as-######### cosmetics with a option to buy cosmetics for shards, which by themselves are extremely tedious to get because of intentional grind walls.

Slap on a monthly subscription fee on top of that, keep the store prices as is, and Behavior will be rolling in money.

I honestly cannot believe how people can be so accepting to this. They're being screwed from their behinds while chanting the mantra "its just cosmetics" like the corporations have taught them.

It's because it's optional and no needed. You wish to support the devs pay for it. If you are against it don't. You are not forced to buy anything to play the game.

Horvath stated on the anniversary stream there will be no p2w aspects to the archives/battlepass. This is the one thing which makes it fine as p2w is the one aspect which angers players.

The question is why is someone against a company putting an optional pass out and wanting to make money that the players don't have to participate in? The simple answer is people get annoyed with what they want but dont actually need.

Nothing is needed in DBD that is expensive to actually play the game and so the complaints over the upcoming battlepass that are cosmetics or lore simply come down to an I want.

I would never buy a battle pass as I think it's a waste of money. Its just digital pixels that don't change the gameplay in any way.

That's why most would queue as tank but those that enjoy healing, hiding or repairing stuff would queue for the other roles.

I agree healing would be a bit situational but a dev could find another similar action to reward. Or maybe if a survivor lets the healer heal them they both get extra BP.

The issue is there are only two main objectives. Doing gens and avoiding the killer. Everything else is secondary so the ones which reward these will always be what people use. This ends up lowering variety.

As I said swf possibly may play around with it but solos will use what serves them best. This is not a team game if you are solo and people only save as it gives them a better chance and points.

  • The reason roles don't work in this game is it creates meta characters. The ones with the best perks will always be the ones you see. This is why survivors are just skins in essense.

Imo roles are bad due to the ones which reward normal play being better. Take healing others for example it is too dependent on wether the killers allows it and also if the other survivors let you heal them. Then there is the risk of people not doing certain actions due to it not being rewarded for their role.

This may work out better with SWF but random solo players won't care about the others they will use what they feel is strongest for them.

  • It depends what killer your are playing.

Hag, Huntress walk at 110% as there power is what helps them with distance hits, Myers is slower in tier 1 at 105% and is 115% in tier 2 and 3 while standard M1 killers walk at 115%. Nurse is the slowest killer but has the greatest power. Just some examples.

    Survivors run at 4m/s while 110% is 4.4m/s and 115% is 4.6m/s

So take a 115% killer over 10s a survivor will run 40m and a normal killer 46m. Distance of the chase is relevant on how long it takes.

So if the chase starts and they are 10m away then it would take 14 to 15 seconds to catch them.

  • They are at gamescom in Europe which is on from 20-24th which is an ideal time to make an announcement. If they have one ready to put out there that is.

  • The last emblem changes.

There is no reason a killer should not be able to pip for killing all four.

Your pip should be determined on your own performance and not subject to what others do. Each person in the match should be able to pip if they play well. For example Killers shouldn't be punished for survivor refusing to save and likewise survivors shouldn't be punished if the killer prevents saves.

XDD you still don’t understand... I wll tell u one more time then I can do anything for you, you talk about rage I can understand that some ppl rage and dc for nothing, but for the rest when someone don’t have fun on any game just forget dbd, when you don’t have fun you stop play right ? Or you continue and you rage and break your set up xD lets back on dbd now lets say I’m getting facecamp by a letherface ( idk why I took this exemple cuz letherface never facecamp ) or you suicide on the hook or you dc or you have a good team who can save you (0,00001%) what would you choose ? For me I’m getting on the hook the all time to make him lose time and the other can escape BUT I can understand other who wll say fck it I go play another game cuz I’m not having fun ( and btw before you take my word wrong, having fun is not every time escape or get 4k ;) you can have fun even if you die or get nobody kill ) the point is this, there is a lot of situation where the survivor or even the killer can’t have fun in the game and decide to dc, just don’t unplug, quit menu cuz you get punish for quitting -2pipes and 0 bp. Know I hope you understand if not don’t answer again cuz I don’t have more time to lose I wll not answer again ^^ gl hf and like the devs said play another game sometimes it’s good.

Whether you think unplugging is different from using the in game menu is irrelevant since the devs have stated they treat both the same way. Both ways to leave the game are bannable if done repeatedly that's all anyone needs to know. Your arguing over your opinion while the others are just stating the facts from the devs.

This may change in the future as the devs are working on a husk system so the6 survivor will still be in the game even if they DC which means you can still hook someone or slug them and possibly even camp them not knowing they dc'd.

Stickter ok punishments are coming with the dedicated servers.

They have been working on camping and tunnelling etc but it has and always will be a strat at certain times and will be use. If people can't accept it will happen now and again and its part if the game then why play it at all? You either accept the game for it's good and bad points or don't.

Many multiplayer games punish player for leaving a game earlt no matter how they do it as you are ruining the experience for all the others left. DBD is no different.

  • Iron Will - The amount of players who run in the open being visible from pallet to pallet instead of trying to use it by breaking line of sight and evade.

Self Care - There is a time and place for it's use which isnt when you are right next to another person just to get points especially when we'll make it is active.

We'll make it - Unhooking when the killer has downed someone accross the map and then proceed to run away.

Enduring - Those that respect pallets while running it allowing another few loops to happen.

Make your Choice - Running this perk and camping.

It's amazing how many times you get to the end lobby, see the loadouts and think why did they do X when running that perk.

  • Maybe it could be a slight buff to Franklin's so it shows the item they are carrying on your hud when in a chase with the addons attached to it and how much use is left?

  • Old MoM rewarded the survivor for the killer just doing what the killer does with no counter play.

SF has counter play you the survivor drops the pallet earlier and avoids trying to stun. It also only means it only guarantees one hit after the 3rd pallet as once the survivor knows you have it the chances of it proccing again versus them in a chase should be practically nil.

I can't see how a perk is abusable when it activation is in the survivors hands. It should only work for 1 hit with each survivors first chase at best.

The legacy elitism is more intense than I thought lol

A cosmetic reward for people who grinded out P3 in the current system should be rewarded in some form for their dedication when the new system is implemented.

The reasoning is the same as the original legacy and would be a fair occurrence since the same situation has occurred.

The grind was bad. The grind was reduced. Players who completed the bad grind were rewarded when the grind was reduced.

The same scenario is currently playing out isn't it?

There was no entity to eat the bloodwebs.

Bloodwebs cost much more and were almost if not double in size.

    No double blood point events.

No blood point perks like BBQ and WGLF or double BP offerings.

You could probably prestige 5 or 6 chars over the time it took to do one back then.

I dont have legacy but I can see why these skins were a one off when one match only netted you 3 - 5 items of a web on average.

Thats not even mentioning those that lost them due to the progress bugs.

  • I dont think anything to do with legacy should come back even different colours.

I do like the idea of grind skins though but instead of doing the actual prestige maybe attach it to devotion. One outfit for a character of choice per devotion rank could possibly work.

This way you actually get rewarded for your playtime in game and not just for leaving the game running in a menu.

The best killers not 4k ing every match is an issue. If you're that good you shouldn't lose. Like Zubat/Scott you should never EVER see someone escape.

While they are amazing killers there is nothing to say that some aren't as equally or more skilled at survivor role so they will and do lose now and again. That isn't even taking into account mistakes being made. The best of the best not 4king every match isn't an issue rather it should be expected when you meet other great players.

I think the main argument most forget when it comes to multiplayer games is your own skill depends on the outcome yes but so does the other players you are versing in a match.

  • You don't. You will have to wait until the ban time has been served.

Also discussing bans isn't allowed on the forums. If you have any questions direct them to

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

  • With the next chapter release which hasn't been announced yet.

It may be near the end of next month though going off the previous dates since BHVR announced the 3 month release schedule.

  • I am grinding blood points with BBQ and WGLF as normal on my mains and feeding them into the ones I want add-ons and more perks on.

I don't see the need to stop grinding now as I'm playing the game anyway and can get 1mil BP easily a day or two before the patch.

I may as well spend my bloodpoints as making it easier will just mean I don't have to grind as hard when it goes live it makes no change to what I do now.

What power does the killer have when loosing a perk. Sure you don't need hex perks to win, but something must be in a way gain by the killer when loosing a perk, even if is just minor. This curse I'm suggesting fits just that.

    Glad you like it.

Hex perks are for the most part high risk due to the reward.

You never want to punish someone for simply doing the objective or removing something.

Think about the old DS, MoM and BT these perks used to punish a killer for simply doing what they are meant too. This is why they were changed to promote more fair play instead of just free escapes for survivors.

Adding a punishment for doing an objective doesnt make sense and would mean they have learnt nothing from the above. You should want survivors to totem hunt and try to cleanse them as it gives you more time to pressure the map.

  • NOED is fine.

The argument about adrenaline rewarding survivors for doing the objective and NOED rewards failing has one flaw. For NOED to activate a totem has to still stand which is in itself technically is survivors failing to do an objective which counters the perk.

So both perks could be said to only activate when the other side fails to do enough to counter it.

  • It was changed due to the EGC.

If a trap isn't active before the last gen is done they can not activate.

It's to balance out it being overly strong due to the EGC implementation which makes sense as no power should make the timer have guaranteed kills.

The traps weren't designed to be an end game power but a way to slow the gens down. It was the players who adopted that strat to make her stronger. She needs some buffs after the change but I'd say more to her main power which is the stealth and ambush.

My main two points are that giving voice chat would solve the problem of solo joins lagging behind SWF and it would break the game so bad that they would have to fix the game.

Yes, it would be a mess. Yes, it would unleash the trolls. But, everyone knows where the mute button is and could mute if they wanted to. And, the game needs to be broken so it can be fixed. So, your points are actually part of what I expect would happen and needs to happen.

If you have to mute many people then it doesn't fix the issue.

Swf can also still use discord and mute the solo's.

It ruins the immersion for a lot of players who like the not knowing.

As I already said not every region speaks the same language.

How is it fixing the game if it creates alot more problems for the largest portion of the playerbase? Swf after all between 3 and 4 man only make up around 24%.

  • F13th isnt a great example everyone was complaining about trolls not long after release.

Voice chat only works in regions where everyone speaks the same language. Europe for one can have 4 people from different countries who can't communicate this was a major problem in F13th also. The userbase isn't large enough to seperate them out so it would not work.

Then there is the toxic trolls who are bad enough in end game chat imagine how they would act in game with voice chat!

You said there is no real reason well I just presented two explanations why it wouldn't work or would hurt the game more.

  • Its not about having feelings hurt it's about giving people a way to be more toxic.

My examples were extremely light compared to what can and does happen and not everyone has thick skin to deal with it.

If you reply to them as you say you would they won. Most do it to get a rise from someone and you took the bait and acted just as childish back instead of being an adult and ignoring it.

Your posts when people dont agree say exactly why this is a terrible idea and why you thought of it.

  • Dcing and laughing at the killer for not pipping.

Camping and laughing at the survivor for not pipping.

    Just two examples.

It encourages more toxicity. The end game chat can be bad enough with without them having another way to call someone out.

Thats the problem no one wants to give a clear answer and just points to the other side. Also the option for unlocked FPS should be a game option it takes no time to program and there is no reason to not have it on the PC version.

I hope we can get a more clear answer this time but i am not exactly expecting it.

I don't think it's that they don't want too it's just there is no clear answer as right now it's fine but that can always change.

It all depends on the engine and how the game is coded.

Take some fps games where unlocking the fps can give a greater latency advantage the same could be said for this game.

As they have said right now they have no plans to go after people who do it but the default could be set to stop those who could run it at 200fps having some advantages.

I remember setting my cod to max out at 333fps as it enabled me to jump to spots others couldn't in maps for example.

The article at the bottom sums up how fps can give and advantage in say a battle royal game. If unlocking it in the future is deemed to give too much of an advantage the devs may change their stance and if not we'll you are safe but it will always be a use at your own risk as with engine updates, new dlcs and mechanics coming to the game who knows that may be affected by it in the future.

While DBD is not an fps game faster frames atm can still enable you to also see things better much like lowering the resolution which is why dbd has limited options to change compared to other games.

Modifying any game file will always be at your own risk, It's just how it is and will always be.

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/geforce-gives-you-the-edge-in-battle-royale/

  • Its really a waste of a perk slot for some minor Info to use both.

Spine chill is subjectively better as it has no cool down. Premonition is ok but there is nothing to say the killer won't change direction after it's use leading you to a glass sense of security.

Neither perk is needed overtime as you learn to depend on your eyes and ears more. Always look around when doing a gen, totem or running and always look behind lots when in a chase.

They my help with more with stealth killers but positioning yourself to have some line of sight if possible and a planned escape route or area to run too becomes far more important.

  • @Crythor said:

Peanits answer back then was and i quote:

"Editing any files risks triggering the anti-cheat, and if that happens, we wouldn't be able to help you. More than likely, it would just tell you that something was modified and refuse to start if anything. We would not actively hunt you down and ban you for doing so, though.

It's use at your own risk, unfortunately I can't give a more specific answer than that. Nobody has been banned for unlocking their framerate so far."

The problem with the Easy Anti Cheats and Peanits answer is they both point to the other for clarification. This is not an clear answer which i hope we can get.

The answer can't be definite as if it changes then either the devs or easy anti cheat have to change their stance on it.

If right now they havent it's the answer doesn't change but neither side knows if that may change in the future if they do decide it gives an unfair advantage. So the answer to modifiying any game file will always be to do it at your own risk.

  • I expect this response.

Atm they may not actively go after people who do this but that may change at anytime so if you end up with a ban they wont help you. These things are as always a use at your own risk.

  • Looking at it It is and it isn't 😉.

  • One thing to keep in mind is in theory when you reach red ranks you should be matched with those of equal or better playing knowledge so you have to up your game. These game should then challenge the best of players and as you rank up be hard to achieve a win.

If you truly are going against swf all the time and managing to stay at your rank that tends to say your games are balanced for your skill level. If you reach a stage where you constantly lose then you may not at your true rank. You have to think if other players can constantly get to a higher rank than yourself is it the game or your personal skill level that is holding you back?

  • It just looks like a mix of latency and the hit being calculated.

In both videos if they pressed M1 when the survivor was close the hit has already registered in game and due to the animation needing to run its course and latency it seems like you got hit from further away.

  • @Rivyn said:

What's wrong with killers dodging swf? If they don't want to deal with that level of team work, why go through it?

Because like it or not SWF is part of the game.

Survivors used to be able to see the killers profile in the lobby. It was taken away as they used it to dodge certain killers like the Nurse by checking achievements, those with lots more play time and steam block who camped them which flagged their profile etc.

This was done as a way to stop players from cherry picking playing versus something which is part of the game.

Why would it be a good idea to give killers the same sort of info to do what the devs stopped survivors from doing?

I'd rather they removed profiles from the game entirely with dedicated servers as well. It serves no purpose now but to spread toxicity.

  • You dont need any perks to play the game and get to your actual rank. If anything perks only serve to get you to a rank you wouldn't have been able to reach normallym

People tend to confuse what they need with what they want.

P2W is a term which describes something which means you gain a significant advantage over others in a PvP game which can only ever be achieved through paying real money.

This would only be relevant with licensed killers if they were made to compete with the strongest free ones but many people would scream it's unfair. This is in part why licensed killers apart from perks can't be made too strong.

So you say Ironwork, badham house and haddon field aren't infinitives?

    You think they are?

    Ask yourself a question.

Can you catch a survivor running round them? If the answer is yes but it takes a long time then they are not infinites they are really long loops.

Again an infinite made it impossible to ever catch a survivor which used to be in the game but we're removed with various changes.

  • It actually already works like this but its better for all as it still wastes time and gives the killer and suvivor some points.

If they AFK the killer can find them or wait for crows, hook them and still get the BBQ points, max time then is 60s for stage one, survivor rescues before it and gets the points and since they are AFK they will die on the second hook instantly anyway.

  • @Kikki said:

This is normal looping for me,Infitive is for me if you using a spot like Ironwork in Mc Millan or that Big house on Crotus Prenn Asylum. On spots like that you can loop infitively with Balanced Landing.

Read above. An infinite and long loop are different. The ones you mentioned are no where near infinites just long loops which can be ran for too long.

By definition an Infinite is a place where it would be impossible to ever catch them.

  • @Zagrid said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/625120#Comment_625120

If you are on haddonfield with balanced landing the whole map is an infinite. Still surprised it has escaped 2 years basically unchanged, aside from them nerfing Blood Lust which was the only counter killers had to those kinds of loops.

    Anyway,

I got today : Hook camper's - People that sit by hooks, yeah those people actually help you more than harm you because they aren't doing gens

T-bagger's - Ehh, fair enough t bagging is toxic, but until they remove the ability to croutch its here to stay.

Rage quitter's - DbD does nothing to punish these people, at least 90% sure since I have never heard of someone who DCs a lot getting banned, but they say dedicated servers will introduce a queue lock to people who DC so they are working on it.

Infitive looper's - Bad map design

Gen rusher's - Bad game design

Bt user where unhook if I'm going to leave. - Again more of a benefit since they aren't doing gens.

Gen camper's(people where will work on the gen when I am in a chase or going to leave)- That's something that they are just meant to do, if you don't get found by the killer after hiding from them while you were working on a gen, then why wouldn't they just go bad to working on the gen.

Most of this stuff helps you, but others of it are out of your control. Basically BHVR has dictated to killers, if you want to win, you have to play scummy sometimes. If someone unhooks in front of you, and you need someone out of the game, because gens pop to fast, tunnel. If everyone is going for the save, camp. If you don't have ruin on your killer, substitute it with NoEd.

The survivors book of rules shouldn't influence your gameplay if you want to win.

It's not an Infinite it's just an extremely long loop. You will eventually catch someone so by definition it can not be an infinite.

Any competent killer will get them it just takes a lot longer than it should for most and some deploy mind games which stealth killers are good at, cut them off, trap the window/stairs, blink, throw a hatchet, some killers just have better tools than others.

Actual infinites were removed long ago.

GEEZ DID YOU JUST READ WHAT I HAD WRITTEN?! I mean INFITIVE Loop's NOT normal.

You are the Killer, you are supposed to be the power role and not the Survivor's.

If I hooked someone and know someone is in the proximity,of course I look quickly around the hook.

Infinite loopers implies its someone who loops infinitely not a spot where it's abusable. It's still not toxic if it's in the game it's just a badly designed loop.

Even then infinite loops aren't Infinite they are just extremely long loops which take way too long. These are being worked on with map reworks and until then breaking that chase and finding another away from it is more productive for the match.

  • Most of what you mentioned isn't toxic it's playing the game and feeling confident.

The only things that can be considered toxic are tbaggers (depending on the context sometimes it's a thank you to team mates) and rage quitters.

Toxicity generally only happens outwith these two in the end game chat.

If someone hook saves quick hit the unhooked one and go after the other if you don't want to tunnel or camp as they just presented themselves and it saves you hunting while leaving the other to mend or be slugged. They do it for the points or playing around in SWF.

If it's happening alot check around the hook and chase them as another has to leave a gen to get the save.

If someone sits on a gen when you are close they are confident you won't break chase to go after them or trying to bait you which isn't toxic.

Looping isn't toxic it's part of the game.

Gen rush is just a survivor doing the objective if you aren't pressuring then they will get done fast. Would you call hooking everyone quick when you are better than the survivors hook rushing?

Even if moris showed up once every 20th match. It would ruin 1 out of 20 matches.

That is true. Those numbers could be changed to make them even rarer that was just me saying a random number playing around with an idea 😉.

Since we can almost guarantee Mori's and insta heals aren't going anywhere soon if ever I think making them rarer and more expensive is a reasonable option as one game in 20 or less of seeing either of these has to be better than what we have now.

  • I had this once.

If I remember correctly I had to log out the website, clear the cache and hard close the app.

  • I agree. While some say it's a strat it's really just abusing an option.

The devs said a husk system is coming so if someone dcs they will still appear in game and can be hooked. Maybe when someone dc's if being slugged or just so their friend can get the hatch that husk idea will also fix this problem.

  • We know Mori's won't go away as much as we would like them too as they have seperate animations which took work to implement and some of them do look really cool.

The fact that Mori's and Insta heals are so abundant could be more the issue. Instead of them being random make them appear maybe every in a set way maybe every 10 bloodwebs or so with a higher bloodpoint price (amount of bloodwebs may change depending on what the upcoming grind change will be). This should make them what they should be. Rare.

Nobody says every game is five minutes..they're saying that if the killer is pressuring and at least doing it well it shouldnt be possible

If the killer is pressuring yet the others are still playing better why shouldn't it be possible?

This mindset is saying the less skilled player should be always rewarded regardless if the other players are better or not.

The state show games last on average far more than 5 mins for any side.

If the game is done in under 5 mins that says there was not enough pressure put out and your opponents played better. If a killer kills all in 5 mins it comes down to silly mistakes by survivors playing badly so that should also apply to killers. By your words a killer ending it in a quick fashion should then also not be possible.

  • The largest factor in the game is still personal skill and choices which no one seems to mention with these things. It's not just about having something strong it's how well you can use it to your advantage.

A good example is an iri head on a Hutress. Its useless if they cant aim.

While Insta heals and Mori's could do with being looked at as they are just not fun I have seen good killers kill all with 4 Insta heal players and less skilled ones have 4 escapes with a mori.

Each game is different and one game is not reflective of how the vast majority go. Its evident with so many posts of late saying gens always get done in under 5 mins which this 12 min game contradicts.

Most complaints seem to stem from someone versing players they feel they should be better than but are not. You can't win them all on either side and you should never expect too.

  • Always remember taking another survivor off a gen to heal you loses the same amount of gen progression and that's not including the time to find them.

Not everyone is good at looping or even likes too. Never try and push your way of playing onto others or talk down to them due to it being not how you play. Players are free to play and use what they wish.

If anything versus a good competent killer those that refuse to heal can be the ones who get those that do killed quicker. It works both ways.

  • Some people just can't take a loss and think that messaging some random person on the internet allows them to get their point accross more when all it does is make them look pathetic.

  • Its a cool idea and still means you have to find them. Instead in instantly knowing like a hit counter make it so at least you have to do something first and it appears when you start cleansing.
