I don't prestige characters I forgot to mention that. I was talking about just plain 50 which is possible. You're right it's pretty much impossible to get everyone p3 50 with all perks in 8 months. Not impossible but improbable.
AHHHH okay, that's where I was getting thrown off. Sorry if I seemed condescending lol. I totally believe you can get everything on every character to level 50 without prestiging lol

Well, it is okay. We all have our own opinions. Thanks for saying it in a respectful manner, I appreciate it. The killer main vs survivor main situation gets really complicated sometimes.
People are always gonna argue about what sides better/more OP, which is why people need to start playing both sides, it's literally the most healthy option for this game lmao.
I main Hag as killer and I win about 95% of all my matches, even against a mediocre SWF. But as someone who has more hours as survivor than killer it's quite noticeable how often killers win matches compared to survivors.
And no worries, constructive conversations are way better than all out wars between sides lol.

Dunno how else I could prove it to you, because it would take like a million screenshots to post it here.
I've been streaming the game since October, and have been grinding this game since I got it nearly a year ago. I got to red rank 1 in a week and a half after learning all of the techniques and strats required to be decent at the game, and I can safely say that In that year, out of every single killer/survivor and all of their perks, it is actually impossible that you got EVERYTHING in this game in roughly 8 months.
There is no way you have all killers, P3 50 with every perk at tier 3 unless you went on MPGH and got some sort of account hack. The amount of hours required to get everything in the game is roughly around 3-4k hours, and considering its been around 8 months since August and that's roughly about 5000 hours, I'm gonna have to call your bluff sir, unless of course you spend your entire life in this game, which is fine, but you need to eat and sleep and work/educate, see family and friends, celebrate holidays, etc.

"A pay-to-win perk on a licensed DLC"
Not exactly. as we have the Shrine of Secrets for a reason.
"BBQ was released when survivors were much stronger along with maps. Maps were also easier to hide."
That is correct, but doesn't change a thing. Survivors are still stronger than killers, especially SWF groups. And you can still hide pretty well on most maps, if you want to.
"Too much advantage for a perk"
The thing is, most killers use BBQ for the bonus BPs, because the grind can be a nightmare sometimes. Besides, you can easily counter BBQ by hiding in a locker for a few seconds. Or you can be near the killer, it is up to you. BBQ isn't broken and definitely doesn't need a nerf.
I agree with everyone else, but I will say that the game is deffo not survivor sided. I know it's the classic meme that survivor and killer mains are always going to argue against the other side, but it has literally been proven that killers have (at red ranks) an average of 65% w/r compared to the 35% w/r survivors have.

Well I started back in august of last year and have all perks on all characters so it's possible to get it done in a reasonable time frame if you like playing the game.
no you don't.

I think he fits the game nicely.
Almost everyone I've talked to thinks that the character is either the creepiest or funniest character that they've seen, and that's a good thing.
Sure doctor is another creepy psycho, but the effects on his laugh don't hit the same way that Tricksters do.
His running can either be seen as SO FUNNY, or literally so strange that it becomes insanely scary.
The clothes and his appearance match his story, he is literally someone who is obsessed with the attention and fame that he gets, to the point that he literally only kills people he has a connection with.
His power will be buffed, he deffo needs to be more powerful than he is, and BHVR will figure out a way to do it.
The people hating this character are the people who aren't willing to see change and just want everything to stay the same. Sorry bucko, but life moves forward and isn't static. I ######### love how they've been more inclusive to the K-pop and LGBTQ+(my) community, and if it brings in more new players for me to slaughter as a hag main then I will take it.
Personally, I would prefer BHVR to listen to the community more and take community oriented ideas and implement those to some capacity. Seeing ideas like The Scarecrow or The Knight and stuff are really interesting and original ideas.
At the end of the day, the people who always complain about whatever BHVR adds can do one, they're never going to listen to you and you gotta find a new hobby rather than shitting on this game constantly.

I dont think Branches are good for the game either to be honest. Again, I think all gameplay affecting addons are inherently bad since Survs get 4 slots, while Killers just get 1.
It's actually quite rare how often you see branches in public matches unless you're up against a SWF who have a perfect strat and no what they're going to do.
I think it would be a great addition personally, and as branches will never be removed/nerfed (because there is no need for it) coupled with the fact that this addon would share literally the same qualities that offering does and that many survivors don't abuse these addons anyway (even at red ranks) is proof enough to know that this addon wouldn't negatively affect either side, but give you a clearer view of the game ahead.

I really, really REALLY hate this idea immensely if I am being totally honest.
Last thing I want is an offering deciding the match, we finally just got Ebony mori's adjusted I don't want something anywhere close to that powerful as an offering again. I don't care if it's survivor or killer, just no thank you.
I would rather play a match not meddled with.
It would be on the same level as branches honestly, making it and iridescent would only increase it's rarity. The fact that is an offering also balances it out. So I would disagree with you. I think it would add a new level of difficulty for the opposing side. I think it would also be abused for maybe a week or a month at the most, but even then I don't think it would be OP if done correctly.
It's in no way comparable to ebony moris though, as it doesn't grant you a kill. If you are a good survivor, you can win, and if you're a good killer, you can win. Hell, you don't even have to be good. At the end of the day, you can choose your map, why not choose the gen locations? Maybe the offering can't be stackable? No one would know what it would be like until it was implemented.
Hopefully in the not so far future will get mod support for the game and a casual mode that would allow for fun new addons to be implemented and tested by the community instead!

@Gibberish said:
Any kind of gameplay-affecting offerings are an inherently bad idea since Survivors get a combined total of 4 Offering slots, while the Killer has just 1. Plus for your idea specifically, the Survivor version of the perk is way, way, way stronger than the Killer equivilent.
A 3 gen can be broken by playing safe and carefully. It's boring and really tedious, but not impossible.
Meanwhile the Killer generally cant really do anything if the gens are a fairly good distance apart and there are at least 2 Survivors left.
I agree with it being stronger for survivors than killers. But you could argue the same thing for branches could you not? Obviously when used in tangent together, they become pretty OP, making it really hard for killers if there are four branches in a game. Usually you have to either have Iron Grasp or some sort of basement build in order to win in that scenario.
But I think it would be a neat idea, especially considering you don't really see a lot of people using most of the offerings apart from BPs, with the occasional Mori or Map offering.
I obviously don't know the logistics of it, but as both a survivor and killer main, I think it would be a pretty neato idea!

It's an a funny joke that made me giggle, but in reality, the two are not comparable.
I'm obviously not going to argue why, people already know why, but it was funny nonetheless.

Hope the one like that your comment got was worth it though, and as I can tell from the comment you made on my other post, I theorise that was from your second account.
That being said, to think that Doctor isn't an annoying killer to play against (Especially when considering his literal 65% win rate at red ranks) is a bit naive to say the least. I've enjoyed many games as Doctor and love playing as the Doctor, but I will agree with everyone else in saying he's annoying.
Not OP, no nerf required. I think he needs to be balanced more, but he's fine the way he is even when we consider the 65% win rate. But he is annoying, lol.

Just out of curiosity, and I'm asking genuinely... In your mind, what's the best move for the killer in that situation? I mean, you said it yourself, he went from losing the match to getting a 3k - that's a pretty good comeback. Without considering the endgame chat too much only because we can't see it, I don't really think his gameplay sounds toxic
The gameplay wasn't toxic, but to rage and be toxic in the endgame chat after the game had finished says a lot about the persons mindset during that situation, not to mention the bashing over and over again on my first hook just to, what, get a rise out of me?
I'm not sure. Again, I said in a previous comment that I've done this strat before, but to be toxic after you've made a comeback just rubbed me the wrong way made me anaylse the entire mindset of what this guy was going through during that game. Maybe something bad happened to him, who knows.
If any commentary is to be taken away from this experience for me though, it's that we really shouldn't take out our anger in such awful ways. I mean, I remember playing MW2 way back when and hearing people talk about how they wanted to unspeakable things to you, a loved one etc just because they lost one single, ten minute game of TDM. It's not insane to assume this is also the thought process of this specific player as well.

I could be wrong, but that's just my guess, especially considering my OG post was pretty well thought out and written to make it very clear that I wasn't frustrated with the actual gameplay and strats this Doctor used in order to kill me specifically and clearly stated that the reasons he killed me are definitely because he was a toxic player, and not because I lack knowledge about the game.

Yes it's the endgame, and they have to secure a kill somehow, I do the same thing. That's not what I'm saying.
What I'm saying, and what you can clearly gather from the post and what I said about this persons maneurisms, is that they almost certainly targeted me because they were trying to be toxic.
The endgame chat was also proof enough, just a bad player, having a bad day, trying to take it out on someone else, and someone running No Mither is an easy target. Surely you could tell by the context of the post that this is the case? Or did you just skim read it and come up with the conclusion that you assume I hadn't already thought about that for no reason?

I highly doubt it'll be a FNAF inspired game, although it's a big franchise, I wouldn't have any clue as to what they would do with the power, and there aren't really any survivors to take from the FNAF series as it's mostly first-person.
I and a lot of others thing the next branded dlc will have to Resident Evil. It's what a lot of people want, and the Silent Hill dlc was proof they listen to the community when it comes to new killers.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but it's highly unlikely.
-
I'm actually straight down the middle with this one.
I agree with a lot of your points, the outside areas being deadzones, the breakable walls and pallets are fairly unsafe, and kill shack as well.
I have also countless times won on the map, both as survivor and killer.
Survivors have a lot of stealth options and walls that make you lose visuals, but because gen spawns are all so close together, the only way to lose on the map is if you suck at gen pressure.
I'd say the map is pretty balanced, as there are flaws for both survivors and killers.
I disagree with pretty much everyone else in the comments though, lmao.
-
I also wanted to share this twitter post from Peanits from October of last year (The last official report showing statistics for kill/pick rates for killers that I could find).
Although it was nearly four months ago, it honestly probably hasn't changed much since then, you can clearly see that Spirit has a 60.19% win rate, making her one of the best killers in the game.
If she were a completely balanced and fair killer, the win rate would be at 50%, therefore making it 50/50, but it's not, because she is unbalanced.
Take a look for yourself, I've provided the link below!
(If anyone can find a updated statistical or screenshot, please link it below).

Like others mentioned, the game is survivor favored but still not impossible to do well in.
If you want to just learn some basics for a bit id say try wraith or even Bubba
If you want a more effective killer who has traps id recommend either freddy or pyramid head. Freddy is solid and will be getting a nerf eventually. Pyramid head has a lot of utility and if you can learn him you can use a lot of that knowledge for other killers well (other than high mobility killers). He has taught me a lot on how to use a wide range of killers and I just like him a lot.
Or just stick with whoever you want and work towards getting good teachables for your killer. Trapper is considered one of the weaker killers just so you know. I dont care for him myself either. Maybe even try out a killer of a totally different style to freshen things up for you such as go for a ranged killer rather than a trap based one
Hopefully this is all helpful
It's actually no really survivor sided at all.
Red rank killers have (or had the last time I checked) a 65% win rate. Just because there are more survivors than there are killers, both figurtively and technically, doesn't mean that they are overpowered.
Unless you can find actual verified statistics that say that the game is survivor sided, please don't rant about how it is.
Here is a link to Peanits twitter, where he posted the pick and win rates for every killer in the game back in October of last year (Needs updating, obviously, but this is evidence of the win rate for killers) Every killer but 1 (Nurse) had a rating of 50% or higher, making most killers balanced, but a lot of which aren't balanced at all.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I can barely move in a match before two gens are already popped. I chase someone and instantly another gen is popped. I hook someone, takes time for them to die, immediately another gen pops and another person off the hook. The minute I chase someone I know I’m going to lose the match cause the others will just gen rush. This is very disheartening for a Killer. I’m level 13 but can’t get any higher and I’m constantly getting survivors that outrank and outclass me. It got to the point where I downed the last person in the match and just dropped them by the gate. What’s the point? This game feels very unfriendly to new Killers and the learning curve is massive for Killers. Even bad survivors can still rely on their teammates to pick up their slack. Any tips or anything? Am I really going to have to spend a buttload of money on characters just to get decent perks? It’s just real depressing that I constantly hook many players, break gens and pallets, the whole nine yards and still walk away with nothing.
I've read a bit more and seen you main Trapper, as do I. Trapper isn't #########, as I've heard some people in this thread say, they clearly don't know how to play him properly.
The way to play trapper is:
Brown ranks - in/on pallets, vaults
Yellow/Green ranks - same as the last, but also try to three gen
Purple ranks - basically the same, but hiding your traps in places where people will try to run you, three-genning also helps incredibly
Red ranks all the same as before, the only real thing that helps you at red ranks other than pure skill and knowledge is getting perks like Ruin and Corrupt, great perks that specifically for trap killers are perfect, as you spend a lot of time (especially at red ranks) having traps disarmed and having to re-arm them. Also hiding your traps in just the most insane random places usually pays off quite well when playing against red ranks too.
Perks will help, but you don't need them to win, you just have to outsmart your opponent.
If you're going to buy anyone, get Hag and Plague. Hag is another trap killer and has a very high win rate at red ranks. She has great add-ons and her perks are great, having Ruin and DH which is incredible.
Different players will use different tactics to beat you. OoO is one of Trappers and Hags worst enemies. It'll take a lot of time and a lot of games but you will be able to eventually beat a lot of the games you play.
If I can get 50 wins with trapper, I think anyone can lol

You just need to patrol gens better and learn what survivors are doing to avoid you/counter you. Watch how each player plays, watch and learn and use it against them.
If you genuinely can't win as killer, you can keep practicing, but if you keep losing and feel the need to go on to the forums to write a post about it when other people clearly can win, it's entirely a you problem, no offence.
If you're really struggling as killer, I don't think that's the side you should be playing.
-
I do quickly want to add one more comment for anyone that read all my previous comments too, but I appreciate most people in this thread being respectful and sharing their opinions. I think a lot of people share the same opinions on both sides.
I'm perfectly in the middle, I don't think spirit is overpowered and I've beaten her more than I've beaten say, cannibal or nurse (Nurse doesn't need a nerf either btw).
But a change (not a nerf) would definitely not hurt for spirit. I think there are a lot of ways to balance her even more and make counterplay towards her easier while still keeping her power and playstyle consistent. (For reference, read my above comments if you haven't already).
But I'm glad there are people willing to defend a character that most people enjoy either because she's on the difficult side of dbd killers, unlike say Twins where it's a two way street (you either suck with the twins or are a god with them) or because they find her easy and can counter her better than most players.
-

I am a Spirit player. Which is also why I know her weaknesses too. It's not like she doesn't have any. Survivor mains need to stop this fallacious thinking that just because they can't juke a good Spirit, it means Spirit has no counter. She absolutely does, because I've been on the receiving end of it many times.
But then I can just repackage that argument back up and say that because I've beaten and know how to counter a spirit well, I can still sit here and say she needs some sort of tweak, definitely not a nerf, but you can see by saying just because you play spirit and know how to counter her and have been countered many times doesn't make the issues she does have go away.
-
I also don't think anyone should factor in perks when trying to consider what does and doesn't need a nerf.
Think of any killer against four survivors, none of them using any perks.
Most killers that are "haha machete go slash" are usually quite easy to loop. This includes trapper, hag, wraith, ghostface, Michael, etc. Their powers are good and can stop loops, or give them a small speed boost, or provide an instant kill, but are the easiest to counter.
Then we have ranged killers, like huntress, the twins, plague, ph and Deathslinger. Easy to counter if you look behind you and watch how and where they aim, and learning early game how that specific player plays.
Next are the killers the slow you down, ie Clown, Freddy (dream pallets r useless lmao), doctor. They can usually get a free hit and are usually countered by throwing down pallets straight away, which usually throws them off. A downed pallet provides a better loop for these killers than others, and if you can run it correctly you can easily make them bash the pallets giving you distance.
And then there are the teleport/fast killers, like legion, spirit, blight and nurse. Legion, blight and Billy are pretty easily manageable, and can be countered with some good pallets and mind games. Nurse also has the disadvantage of sight and walls.
Now understanding how all of these killers work, and comparing them to spirit, you can see why she is an outlier. She moves fast, is invisible with no indication of where she is, gets a speed boost when she comes out of her phase, can track and hear better then any other killer, and her speed boost practically gives her longer range (all without perks).
I have beaten spirit, as have many others, and I don't think she needs a nerf, but a tweak. Something to just show players or give them a rough idea of where she is. I mentioned in a previous comment about a mix of wraith and Freddy's real/dream world invisibility, could really make the balance her out a lot.
Making the point that you can see her disturb crows or sway grass isn't good enough, as some maps have dead areas with no grass, or are indoor maps, and crows don't spawn every few meters, making that argument pretty pointless.
There really is no argument against it, and it could honestly only benefit the game. It is such a small tweak that it wouldn't ruin spirits power, but just enough of a tweak that it would essentially give spirit more counterplay. If they did something like this, there is literally no argument you could make to prove this wouldn't be a good tweak.
I'm obviously open to hear people's opinions, but I think this idea is just to good to not acknowledge, and I feel like you'd have to be pretty cynical to just not like this idea. If you could explain in detail why this idea wouldn't work, I'll happily listen and make a counter-point, but from where I'm sitting right now, I can't really think of a valid argument against it lmao.
-
The change I would make would just be a visual one for players, I wouldn't change anything about her actual game mechanics and no changes that would make survivors need perks/spirit need perks in order for either side to win.
The best nerf wouldn't be a nerf at all, but a tweak to the visuals. Just making her have a combination of Wraiths cloaking ability and Freddy's real/dream world phasing could balance her perfectly. It wouldn't be all the time of course, but at least when wraith is invisible you can see him, that's literally the counter to his power and it's built into the game, and you can still win as wraith.

I disagree, spirit without a headset is literally useless and unplayable so to play her first you need a headset. Even with a headset if a survivor has iron will, stridor spirit cant hear them and thats your first counter. Her power doesnt need 2 seconds to reload like nurse but alot more wich make her alot weak in comparison. Nurse needs a nerf,a good nurse(not the best one)can end any game in 2 minutes
I disagree with this point as well. As a nurse main, the one counter I always see and the best way to counter ANY nurse is to lose line of sight. When you've done that, it's a complete guessing game.
Sure a nurse can get add-ons to stop the fatigue, have extra blinks or recover faster, but at the end of the day a survivor can still make a few seconds worth of distance and make you lose sight again, therefore restarting the cycle.
Problem with spirit is, she literally doesn't need her sight.

Spirit doesnt need a nerf,i have escaped many times as solo playing against a spirit. Nurse on the other hand is way stronger
I don't think this really is a valid argument either, as there are/were other op killers that got nerfed that you could win against easily. You could win games before PH's nerf, you could win games before any character was nerfed, but at the end of the day they still were needed because they're not balanced.

Hahah, always after another one, who is next after Freddy and Spirit? Doctor?
Freddy isn't overpowered and a lot of people just get wound up because it seems like his lunge is longer than it actually is.
Freddy is an incredibly easy killer to counter, as long as you're decent at running the killer. He does have 70% win rate at red ranks, but his entire power relies on you being asleep, so keeping you and your teammates awake is the easiest way to counter his ability.
Doctor also is easy to counter, depending on the type of player you're playing against. Sometimes you can just run in a different direction before he shoots his blast to quickly outrun it, therefore not having it affect you.
Spirit however has a power that's quite hard to track, if not at all. It does again depend on the player, but there needs to be something that gives away her position. Maybe a mix of Wraiths cloak and how you can see it, mixed with Freddy's in/out of the dream world phasing (where he randomly goes invisible) I think this would be the only tweak they'd have to do to spirit to make her just have a tad more counterplay.

While nurse is stronger both need a nerf as they are on a different level to the other 20 killers
I don't think nurse needs a nerf personally, and a lot of people share the same opinion, mainly because her entire character is the hardest to learn and master in the entire game.
A rank 20 can pick up spirit and use her with no problems and will probably be able to grasp her power very quickly, whereas nurse has an easy power to understand but incredibly difficult to master.

I disagree. Although nurse can be OP in the right hands, there are a lot more ways to counter her than there are for Spirit.
Nurse takes a hefty amount of skill to beat, if you are a good nurse, you practically could run her without ANY perks whatsoever.
Spirit without add-ons and perks is a challenging but possible task, but takes no skill to learn. A person at rank 1 who has never played spirit can pick her up and play her almost instantaneously, if they understand how her power works, unlike nurse who's power is quick to learn but incredibly difficult to master without a lot of practice.

Awww c'mon we can't even have this post to hope? I'd love to go back to that grey/yellow rank player who was still figuring out the game and having a lot of fun.
They were the days.
I recently have had to start from scratch on different accounts through dbd and playing against lower ranks just reminded me of how much fun the game is. (For context I had the game on Steam, then switched to Stadia (only for that to go sideways) and then switch to Xbox, then Windows 10 and my progress didn't carry over, back to Steam)

Sorry to have to be the one to tell you, but anyone who does get angry at the game will not change their attitude if they read this. People who already didn't take the game that seriously, or who were already trying to improve their behaviour, will be the only ones who listen to this.
This game's community is beyond changing.
You're absolutely right, but I think reminding people of why they even play in the first place is a good jumping off point. Some people just won't change, but the more of us that play fairly and try to give each player the best time, the better the games will start to get.
Like for example, it'd be great if the killer saw no obsession, and didn't instantly start tunnelling (Not something that always happens but is a possibility)
Sometimes when a killer has played fairly but they might be console or something, I always drop them my item. Always, even if I needed it.
Having a really fun game can be quite hard to find nowadays for solo players specifically. I do you can fun at red ranks, but there's still a certain amount of respect you should have for the other players.
It's like when I used to get annoyed at people for teabagging on halo, at the end of the day it's pretty innocent, but I would have appreciated them as a player and complimented them if they didn't do that.
There will be people who rage if they lose of course, but understanding that you're not gonna win every game can be a hard but good pill to swallow. It kind of says a lot about real life more than anything, which is a good thing for people to learn at the end of the day.
Point being, I agree with you. Sorry for the tangent xD

I love you more uwu

6 seconds instead of 5 is perfect honestly. An extra second doesn't drastically affect the killer but gives time for the survivor to get away. Sounds good!

Honestly if people are using TTV against you on the forums and you mentioned nothing about streaming just brush them off, eventually people will back off you when you have enough time on here. Like i'll be honest it does look like free advertising but once your account is no longer 'new' you'll be more respectable as long as your not posting rubbish like some trolls do.
I did notice that. It does seem like people on the forums have a superiority complex based on their amount of posts. You could be playing the game for years but just because you made an account recently, no one will take you seriously.
Thanks for the advice thought I appreciate it.
I won't sit here and say it's not a form of free self-promotion as well, I mean that's the idea of it. At least I'll admit it though, lmao.

Soz, looks like you were proven wrong on this in another thread then. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Your comment doesn't really add anything to the thread. I was proven wrong because someone did what I asked them to do and provide actual evidence lmao, something you didn't do.
But go off I guess.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

TTV are rarely good players at heart, they will do the FL spam and other things to make their games more fun to watch. They also like to be in swf and coordinate annoying things because again it makes it more fun for the viewers. They can be good people but lets be honest your not going be like that in game if you want your content to be fun to watch.
im not saying all are like that but they are just annoying and as others have said a lot of them have a pretty big ego and think that their opinion matters more when in reality someone could have like 20k hours and know more about the game but the streamer will brush them off because they are someone they have never even heard of.
Thanks for this comment. I made the most because I genuinely wanted to know. I literally only recently made this dbd forums account, and I only did that because I'm on the forums quite a lot reading some of the stuff people say. I didn't realize putting ttv in my username would cause so much of an outrage in forum posts though.
As too the ttvs are rarely ever good, I'll also agree. I've made a lot of friends on twitch, but barely any of them are good. That's not me saying that I'm better than them, more just our skill levels are different. But you're right, a lot of streamers do usually only care about making content, etc. Sometimes that seems to be the thing that overtakes the gameplay. Seems kind of boring to me though.

It's good advertising for your channel nonetheless, since at least after a match some players could go out of their way to say nice things in your twitch chat, but you're also leaving a window open for bullying.
I don't use TTV in my name for that reason, plus i haven't streamed in quite a while, haha.
And yeah, growing on twitch is difficult, specially if you want to dedicate to playing a popular game like Dead by Daylight, i've been there, sometimes you spend so much time talking to yourself. But i guess it's just part of the grind, most big streamers right now must've been there at some point.
That's a fair enough point. I can understand how a lot of people would get really frustrated and annoyed with the trolling and bullying, especially when you have a small amount of viewers etc.

How is it not a real job? You sound so bitter lol. It’s the same as people who do YouTube as a career, they’re providing a service and are being paid for it. It’s a form of entertainment. Literally no different than watching a TV series or movie.
Imagine job shaming in 2021. So embarrassing.
is a bit scummy lmao, especially when you consider how hard it is to get a job at the minute with COVID. I'm a student and have applied for a lot of jobs, and Twitch streaming has actually provided me with a real income as I can't get a job irl right now. I can actually afford to pay my rent and not be homeless because of it, which is f*cking amazing.

I know it isn’t every streamer but it was getting to the stage where it was more often than not and I just couldn’t be bothered to deal with it anymore. The only time I play with streamers now is if they’re a killer because I can’t see their name until after the game lol. I recently played / survived against Otzdarva which was fun.
Playing against Otz is quite fun, especially when you consider how fairly he plays. I've gone up against him about 3 times and it is extremely fun!
As long as you're having fun on the game though, you do whatever you want. That is what it's all about at the end of the day.

Well you got some answers now. Personally I don't pay attention to user names and while there are definitely people in this community (and not only in this forum) who hate streamers just because they are stream I haven't noticed an insane amount of hate directed towards streamers on this forum so that is why I think your behaviour is atleast partly responsible for the reaction you got/get.
Many people tried to discuss with you about the rank in the other post so I'll just keep it short:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/227728/the-rank-bug-is-not-just-a-visual-bug
BHVR has acknowledged this bug report so BHVR themselves admit that ranking is bugged (and not just visually).
Just to compare:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/136780/sole-survivor-not-gaining-any-tokens
This is report for a bug that made it look like the perk wasn't working but it was just visual, the Devs addressed that in their acknowledgement of the bug.
In the end it's not my problem if you believe the bug is visual or not (the 4.5.2 hotfix should arrive soon so we should get clarity with the patch notes anyway) but if you tell people that a problem that they have with the game and that they will strongly about isn't legit you will get unpleased reactions.
As you actually provides actual proof of this being the case, I'll happily retract my statement. I appreciate you making a respectful and informative response that proves my point wrong. The first post you link is the one I've been going off of this entire time.
I will however say that you should have put this comment in the other thread, as it doesn't belong here really.
Thanks either way though.

Get a real job and contribute to society and not just taking handouts from timmy stealing him mom's credit card out of her purse, then people wouldn't ######### on twitchys.
That's not really a valid piece of discussion to the thread lmao.
But as a counter to your point, people can spend their money on whatever they want. Just because you don't want to do it doesn't mean other people don't have too.

I'm not toxic against TTVs I'm toxic against you.
You're talking ######### on the pip issue. You deserve to be roasted.
I wasn't really talking #########, I was just pointing out that it seems like the same toxic people are jumping on the bandwagon of hate that BHVR gets. Yeah they do screw up their game a lot, but no game is perfect. Everything they do is calculated to make the game better, but when bugs spew out, people will take advantage of them, which is what the post was about. A lot of people, including you just don't understand the context of the post, and that's okay, you're just probably on this forum to be a dick rather than actually have a conversation with an actual valid point.

As a killer if i see a TTV. player, i go really nasty on them, killer traditions i guess.
As a survivor i never have TTV on my name cause i feel like i don't need to advertise my stuff, i'd rather grow normally
I get your point, and I don't disagree. If anything it proves that the TTV is good, if they can evade tunnels or a Mori, it proves that they're probably worth watching.
I disagree with the "grow normally" aspect of your comment though. It's extremely hard to get anywhere when you're a small streamer, unless your collaborate or, self-advertise, it's almost impossible for new people to find your channel, and it's a free-form if promotion at the end of the day. But I respect your opinion.

Although the smaller Twitch streamers are usually (although not always) extremely nice, alot of the big names come off as toxic, which brings in a lot of viewers. Because not everyone watches smaller streamers, many just assume other than very few, all of them are toxic.
But hey that's just my theory.
I agree. And it is a shame. I find the majority of streamers are pretty nice and decent. I said in a previous comment that I've made a lot of friends from twitch, practically everyone I play with has come from dbd. So I don't think it's all doom and gloom, but there are definitely people out there who just have a superiority complex.

People only talk about ttv unless it's brought up. Like if someone makes a thread about NOED no one's saying "And also ttv people are toxic". You'd have to make a thread, like this one for example, to get people to talk about ttvs
Sometimes I see people bring up their ttvs to show vods for problems or just to provide some context to their point etc. But you're right, I've seen a lot of ttvs do this.
It just sucks that all streamers are grouped together. A lot of my friends I've actually made through twitch and my community is quite wholesome and we always have a good time in the stream.
Obviously it's a way of free promotion, but the only way to get anywhere as a streamer now is to promote yourself as far and wide as possible. You can't just stream and expect people to know where your channel is, you know?
