  • I agree with most of your points, other than where you call players who make 'Juke' compilations crap lmao.

SWF isn't cheating, voice-communication is. There is no built in voice-com mechanics.

You're using an outside program to gain a significant competitive advantage in this game that artificially boosts the team's performance beyond their capabilities in real operating conditions.

In a normal game you can't tell someone where a totem is. You can't say if someone is coming for a save. You can't say trap right there. Yet any of these small thing early on could be the pivot point for the game snowballing or not.

Voice chat isn't just one of those bits given freely. It's a thousand small changes under the guise of "well I can press m1 and juke just like a normal game" without recognizing the real impact that makes.

You can't wipe out so much of the chaos and uncertainty which defines this game and still argue that you're playing the game as its designed to be played. Survivors are not meant to be coordinating or communicating beyond their their limited perk selection and rudimentary pointing. The difference is ######### monumental.

Truth is, VC is an advantage over normal players (ie, compared to the same team without that crutch) that's about as significant as an aimbot or wallhack in an FPS.

It is cheating de-facto no matter what the developers say until they either include it for real or balance around it in a way that takes account for the massive difference between a game where plays have zero coordination/communication and one where the players have total communication/coordination.

Yet.... voice chat is allowed nevertheless. Same way stream sniping is allowed according to the official rules. Personally, I would call them both cheating and prefer both be eliminated. But to think of one as cheating and the other crossing some line... pure hypocrisy. There's no getting around it. It's simply delusional.

You made a fair argument, but we'll have to agree to disagree. Take my Vote up sir.

So now you want the thread locked after making comparisons to being a Jew in WW2 to how people “treat” twitch streamers by listening to their streams.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SGNKIX09ZYHI/849a20a8-9a82-4649-9cab-bde21c88efd8.jpeg

Again, didn't even mention what you said I did. Also that's very funny that you posted the exact same comment twice but you went and found a cute little picture of Dr Evil to add to the relatable factor of your comment!

And no, I want the thread locked because clearly both sides disagree with the other, therefore there is no discussion, therefore no outcome of this thread, therefore making it pointless, which the mods will eventually lock this thread for. Lol.

Devs have also given killers perks that encourage camping and slugging - Insidious for camping, Knock Out (which they recently buffed) and Deerstalker for slugging. They made the Twins the perfect camp/slug killer. They have challenges to "kill survivors by any means" which includes slugging until bleed out. Those are just few examples of them encouraging and rewarding camping/slugging. Saying survivors have perks that counter camping/slugging means the devs discourage those tactics is like saying the devs discourage survivors from using pallets and flashlights because killers have perks to counter those. They're just counters, they don't mean the devs discourage those tactics.

That's a fair argument, but that still doesn't explain why you get less points for doing them.

  • I'd just like to say as well, I've been replying and reiterating my point a lot in this thread, but this is the problem with these forums is that, people aren't willing to change their mindset, and that's okay, but it makes these posts completely pointless and redundant.

Someone please get this thread locked, as so don't think any more constructive discussion is going to come out of this thread.

  • As I said in my previous comment, it was clearly a joke.

    Although I wouldn't say it's delusional.

Hate one person>hate group of people because of them.

Hate twitch streamer cause he teabagged you>hate and tunnel all twitch streamer forever because they all bad hello I'm cannibal chainsaw go brrrrr

Firstly where did I say I treat twitch streamers bad? All I’m sayng is that you cant broadcast your game to the world, broadcast other people without their consent, and then cry for bans if someone playing against you dares to look at your stream

Secondly are you....are you comparing me to Hitler? Because I said stream sniping isn’t cheating? Are you actually serious? You ttv people are delusional.

Let me make it clear one more time. If you don’t want people looking at your gameplay then stop streaming. Why should someone be banned from the game just for watching a broadcast you have chosen to share with the world? Get over yourselves.

The comment wasn't aimed towards you lmao. I never said "Dizzy1096 claims that all twitch streamers are bad and I'm comparing him to certain historical figures!" Cmon bro, don't make stuff up to defend your argument.

Secondly, it was clearly a joke guys, this game literally has Freddy Krueger, a pedophile running around killing teenagers in it. Relax.

Oh lord you seriously did not just make that comparison. Please tell me you didnt.

Is that not a fair comparison to make? I mean it's definitely a bit of a jump, but the premise is the same.

Hating a group of people (streamers) based on bad experiences a player had with one of them is to an extremely less extent the same thing.

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026929#Comment_2026929

Well one is downloading and installing actual cheats for an advantage.

The other is just watching a game someone has decided to broadcast to the world.

If you think they’re even remotely the same I don’t know what to say to you. I take it you stream? Because this sounds like you have a real investment in the argument

For what its worth I dont actually stream snipe. I dont see the point, might help find a location at the very start but once the game is on I feel like taking my attention off it would only hurt me. Besides I tend to try and avoid streamers if I can since as I mentioned above I’m a private person.

I think the point they were making is that in both scenarios, you're opening an external source in order to have an advantage in the game.

You can't argue the same thing about Comms, as steam, Xbox and PSN all have their own built in voice-chat mechanics. Using something like Discord is just an extension of that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026923#Comment_2026923

No it happens because there is an abundance of survivors over killers so in order to have actual fair matchmaking it would make queue times worse than than what they already are. The game favours having lower queue times over fair matchmaking. I would say that 75-90% of my matches depending on time of day dont have any yellow or brown ranked players, thats way higher than "bad luck".

I know my experiences don't count for everyone's experiences, but this has never, ever been the case for me.

But you can't really blame me, seeing as "matchmaking is broken", lol.

    "Not like someone is wallhacking"

Whats the difference between knowing exactly where a survivor is with a 2 seconds delay and wall hacks exactly? They're almost identical in the advantage they give you.

oh no, one streamer said a bad thing about me, time to cheat against every streamer i see, very mature.

It sucks that just because someone had one bad experience with a a certain person means that they will treat all people from that particular group with aggression and unfairness.

Sounds similar to something from the history books I learnt about in school🤔

  • @Dizzy1096 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026861#Comment_2026861

Its not like people are wallhacking or pulling out unlimited instaheals 🤣

Once more it is YOUR CHOICE to broadcast the game. They can only see your pov if you let them. If you dont like it you dont broadcast. You have to take the good with the bad.

Meanwhile I’ve had streamers talk crap about me, lie about me, all of this without my consent. I have zero sympathy for some entitled streamers.

You guys are having a discussion more about whether the streamer your up against cries about it, when that isn't really what the topic is about.

You can stream snipe as much as you want, no one is going to stop you, and yes you're absolutely right about it being broadcast to the ENTIRE WORLD (big of an exaggeration but oh well)

It is still cheating though. It's not bannable, sure, but it's cheating. SWF is not cheating, as it's a built in game mechanic. Pulling someone's stream open isn't.

The problem is the people not acknowledging that it's cheating.

Tournaments get broadcasted, but you don't see the players opening the actual stream to get advantage do you? Like this entire argument doesn't make any sense.

  • @kingcarl2012 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026899#Comment_2026899

That does not explain a rank 13-15 killer against 3-4 red rank survivors or purple for that matter or why a rank 1 killer will go against groups of purple/green ranks

That literally is the explanation for why a brown rank would be put with a red rank.

The ONLY two ways it can happen are if you're extremely unlucky, or the more common reason is because at least two people are a SWF and one of them is incredibly higher than the other player they're teamed with.

  • @Dragonshensi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026899#Comment_2026899

Uh no. Every SWF team I’ve encountered is 3 red ranks and maybe one purple while I’m 13. So it’s not fair in the least. Then they are on comms the whole match and are being toxic the entire match.

Okay but you're now talking about a matchmaking issue, which everyone can agree on. That still doesn't make it fair to stream snipe a streamer with friends just because they're a streamer. You can do it, sure, but it's cheating.

And by all means, cheat in your video game, no one is gonna stop you, but when you don't acknowledge it, that's what is slimey. You also don't need to do it to win again, and honestly it's more hassle than it's worth, it's literally not an efficient way to play dbd.

Lastly, me and my girlfriend play this game all the time, and she's always between Rank 9-6. I'm always at a rank 1. When I play SWF, the games always vary, so I don't believe you when you say that you always go against red rank SWF at rank 13. It's just statistically not possible for every SWF to be red ranks.

  • Well I'm sorry to flex but, I got both rank 1 on both killer and survivor within the first 70 hours of the game and I've been playing for nearly a year now, and I've never stream sniped anyone. If I play against a streamer and they're better than me, I take the L. If I play against a streamer and I'm better than them, they take the L.

And being a purple rank, you have absolutely been in a game with a lower rank killer and probably smashed them at least once, and I will go out on a limb and assume you've also had that same experience with a SWF right? So the matchmaking is definitely an issue, but it's a completely different topic to the current one we're all discussing.

Due to the matchmaking I as a rank 13 killer have constantly gotten multiple matches with red rank SWF teams. So I know the pain.

But the matchmaking has nothing to do with whether it's fair or not to stream snipe. The matchmaking is something BHVR are actually trying to fix to improve everyone's experience. Also as I stated in another comment, the reason you get put with red ranks at the rank you are is mostly because the game is trying to balance a SWF where one is a red rank, and the others are lower. So yes it needs be fixed, but there is no easy way to fix it.

  • If you beam the stream, you are the meme. (Aka, the butt of the joke)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2026827#Comment_2026827

I just want to address one point you made where you go into rank. There is a major flaw in your reasoning because low rank killers do get put in matches with red rank survivors. In a world with fair and even matchmaking your point would hold weight, but the matchmaking isnt fair or even, it screws people over all the time going both ways.

Right but the matchmaking isn't fair because they're still trying to figure out if it works. It isn't a flaw with what I said but the game itself.

The Devs have got rid of and reintroduced better matchmaking a dozen of times, and it's not the best, but it'll get better.

And saying "in a world with fair matchmaking", the reason you get out with red ranks at the rank you are is mostly because the game is trying to balance a SWF where one is a red rank, and the others are lower. So yes it needs be fixed, but there is no easy way to fix it.

  • @kingcarl2012 said:

I will actually say i do this as well, when i see a ttv i will check out the stream mostly to check ranks. Im a rank 13ish killer as well so, if they majorly out rank me purple or red rank, i will leave it on not to listen to there comms because thats too distracting, i mostly ignore it, but specifically when im chasing the streamer i will listen, ive gotten some good tips about things i do wrong that way.

Not all streamers save vods so you cant always watch it later and i dont wanna keep a list of who i played when to search for them. I also always pop into chat to talk to them unless they were super toxic.

Also in a weird way i feel kinda justified as they are broadcasting my gameplay for profit so i feel that monitering what they say about me to however many people is kinda my business and I have dc'd and gave them crap for it if they are being too verbally abusive but thats only happened once or twice.

9/10 small streamers don't make profit out of streaming, so to use that as an excuse to play unfairly isn't really a justification for doing so.

  • @Dragonshensi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2025693#Comment_2025693

Those are actually good suggestions that the devs will never do cause then survivors will complain about it being op. If a SWF team is also using a stream sniping for the killer as well I just shrug. They already update their team where the killer is constantly on the map. Now they just have a visual to go with it too. It’s not even that much of an overkill. Especially since there’s a 20 second delay for stream. Also I don’t think it’s wrong. I was just curious what other’s opinions on it are and I’m open to discussion.

It would be both sides complaining, not just survivors. Damn do you ever actually play survivor? You need to out an equal amount of hours into both sides before spewing nonsense about a topic you don't have the knowledge to argue against.

I'm a survivor and killer main, and you have to start looking at things from both sides my man.

  • @Pulsar said:

If they've got TTV in their name, I imagine they like the attention.

No. Having TTV in your name is a form of promotion. But that's also not what this post is discussing.

I've only been streaming since October and I've built a pretty great community, and I don't use social media, so having TTV in your name genuinely, does help and is definitely beneficial.

  • Ah, see, with this post you proved why you posted it in the first place, because you hate that streamers potentially have a SWF and you can get an advantage over them.

You also said you dip a match if the streamer has a SWF, but also defend stream sniping and say it's fair?

Literally you keep contradicting yourself in this post, when all you really need to say is that you're a sore loser and feel the need to gain every advantage everywhere you can because you're scared of, what, losing a video game? Kinda slimey.

For example, I play on PC. I bought the game on Steam and I open up Steam every time I want to launch the game. Steam has voice chat capabilities built right in. I'm not as knowledgeable about consoles, but I would be very surprised if PlayStation or Xbox don't have a built-in way to chat with friends. Expecting people not to use these tools while playing a game that lets you party up with your friends is simply not realistic.

The ceiling of SWF is much higher than solo, but in practice it's usually not a big difference. SWFs are usually overly altruistic for party members, leading to some bad plays like risky save attempts, but not altruistic enough for the randos they're paired with, leading to other bad plays, like letting them struggle or die on hook. Many SWFs also don't have the game knowledge to communicate effectively, and many others straight up just don't talk about the game much. A couple of my friends like talking about other things because they feel any callouts hurt their immersion, for example. While solos are usually going to pick perks to help them survive, SWFs are also more likely to meme around with their builds. My buddies and I will all run No Mither, or all run Pebble, or random things like that just for the fun of it, whereas solos usually have less of an incentive to branch out and more of an incentive to run meta/detection perks.

Please justify how this game wasn't balanced around voice chat and SWF. SWF was released in version 1.0.3, which is early enough that SWF was probably on their radar as a feature they wanted to add. Regardless, let's remember the state of balance the game was in when SWF was added. BNPs would literally insta-complete full generators until version 1.5.3. Most maps had literal infinites and substantially more pallets, including a number of double pallet loops. Exhaustion recovered while sprinting. Bloodlust wasn't even added until 1.5.0... this game was ridiculously survivor sided at launch. They've had more than four years since then to actually balance the game and it has come a long way. There are still plenty of things to work on, but in my opinion the game is more balanced now than it has ever been and the gap between SWF and solo has never been smaller.

    Amen brother, DAMN.

agree to disagree then. Especially when the devs clearly favor survivors. Part of the charm of playing killer is you don’t know where he is at the time. Is he coming your way? Or is he chasing your friends? Like an actual horror movie. Well now with comms this horror movie has turned into a comedy.

Oh man you have a lot of comments that everyone disagrees with. Do you ever just stop and think that maybe you are the one that's in the wrong, whether you 'agree' with it or not?

The Devs don't favour either side. They're actively trying to make the game more balanced. They could listen to the community more for sure, but couldn't all game devs? At the end of the day, it's their game.

They're not survivor sided though, that's just a preposterous thought to have.

  • the Devs ABSOLUTELY discourage tunneling, slugging, camping, the whole ordeal. They literally have designed perks to stop killers from doing these things.

Here, let me name a few for you:

Tunneling - Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike

Slugging - Unbreakable, Soul Guard, No Mither, Tenacity, WGLF, practically any healing perk

Proxy Camping/Face camping - Kindred, Dark Sense, Object of Obsession

I mean the list could go on, there's way more perks that try to counter these gameplay styles.

Do I also need to bring up the fact that you get less points and pips if you tunnel, slug, camp etc? It's not bannable because it's built into the game, but it doesn't mean they don't discourage it.

"The respect you give to other is the respect you will receive", same thing applies to DBD, unless their cynical and don't care about how other players feel.

  • After reading pretty much the entire thread, I actually have some other points I'd like to make out too.

Growing up I used to play Halo with my brother, and back then all we had was splitscreen. One console. This meant you could screen-watch, thereby cheating to gain an advantage (In this case, knowing my brother's location).

Now, when you say SWF is cheating, you're essentially saying all team based games that have ever existed where you have Comms, are cheating. That's not the case.

In Halo multiplayer, there is team chat. We all used to play MW or MW2 (the ogs) and talk to our friends through Xbox Live Comms rather than the games Comms if we were playing with friends, whereas the in-game Comms is exactly the same as Post-chat in dbd essentially.

How can you sit there, and say that talking to your friends, talking to people and giving them info(where they have no actual visual representation of what's happening) is cheating?

Screen-watching IS cheating, Comms are not cheating. The same applies to streamers and DBD. Sure it's public, but it's not fair, it's literally getting info where you're not supposed to have it. SWF are allowed to have it, that's why it's built into the game.

As the OP is only a rank 13 killer as they stated in a previous comment, it is fair to assume you've probably never made it to Red ranks, thus you really can't complain about SWF. I'm sorry, but you've seen nothing if you're complaining about brown rank SWF.

Unless you're at red ranks, there is no way in hell any SWF is cheating (which they're not doing anyway). Red ranks against a Hag where the entire team can see you set your traps for a three gen, only to run over and instantly set the traps off really screws with that hag player. It's awful to feel, but it's built into the game, which is why I'm excited for the Object of Obsession nerf that the Devs proposed. It means that Trapper and Hag will probably be at the ranks of Freddy, Spirit or Cannibal to say a few.

TL:DR, Stream sniping is cheating, SWF is not.

  • @Dragonshensi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2025427#Comment_2025427

But it’s fair for them to constantly update their team where I’m at 24/7 in the match? But it’s a no no if I do it? Rules for me but not for thee? I don’t watch their screen when they stream. I just listen to what they are saying about me and such. Just out of curiousity.

I mean a full SWF that are actually trying to go for win streaks or destroy killers usually have a OoO, if not all of them will have it, coupled with the information they get from an external source.

It's not fair for the killer to see their side, and it's not fair for the survivor to see the killers side, but there's no getting around comms.

At the end of the day, most streamers run soloQ or have a SWF because they're just playing with viewers/friends. I believe that those are the circumstances 99% of the time, because I also do this.

Also, stream-sniping is such a big issue for bigger streamers that smaller streamers just assume they'll go for it as well. Usually killers will only do it to see what perks you have, but I've had times where I've literally watched the killer stand still, only to turn around a few seconds later coming right towards me.

Small streamers are just trying to have fun and even though sometimes they can be obnoxious, who isn't obnoxious when they're playing a game Infront of an audience? You want to prove to your audience that you're either good at a game or entertaining, and that's what they watch for. (Audience could be you playing a game Infront of your friends for example, you want to show them you're good at the game you're playing, same thing applies to streaming I think).

All I would say to the OP though is that you shouldn't ever take a streamers words to heart because most of the time they just assume the worst, I mean you literally have a free means of info on your hands. Some streamers stream DBD for literally 12 hours 7 days a week, so it would make sense that they have run into a few nasty, horrible players here and there (Talking from my own experience).

Personally, I always just try to have a fair game. I'm pretty knowledgeable about the game and never really get mad or frustrated with anyone unless they are or I believe they are playing unfairly.

This is actually the first sluzzy post I have agreed with in a while. The hitboxes are straight busted and carry too many huntresses. At least deathslinger requires good aim

Yeah but you're the same person who runs Moris and tunnels streamers out the game just because you've a few bad experiences with them. Imagine hating an entire group of people and treating them differently just because they're different from you. Sounds like someone from the history books👀

  • @saltmineinaction said:

Not only tunneling but hard camping needs to stop too. Gameplays like this ruin it for survivors... Ive had 3 games in a row today with tunnelers & hard camping and it just ruins the whole game

I will agree that that Rank reset has been THE worst by far that I've ever seen in my entire time playing this game. I just played a match against a Freddy and threw my headphones across the room and put a hole in my table because of how toxic they were. Lol!

  • And you're definitely not forgetting that survivors, for a full stack of WGLF need 4 tokens, meaning 4 safe unhooks and/or protection hits, which means they're probably also injured?

I think it's a great perk, the reason people are running it right now is because of the Empathy challenge in the latest tome, that's literally the only reason.

It's too Niche of a perk with such a specific way of using it that it doesn't ever need a nerf. Not ever. If you're complaining about it, you should probably try picking up the survivors instead.

  • @Hookismylife said:

The Game is not balanced and both sides feel the frustration of being smashed sometimes.

The problem is that the game is like a vicious circle.

    * You play as solo survivor, you get smashed Game after game because soloq is just a hell.

*This survivors decide to play as SWF, which is unbalanced as hell and 80% of the games premades smashes killers.

    * This Killers have 2 options. Leave the game or just tunnel, camp and slug to abuse premades altruism.

And this circle repeats every Game making this toxic environment.

Im not english but Hope you understood me.

Understood every word you said my friend, probably better at English than I am and I'm from the UK😅

But you're right, and it sucks that it is this way, but the more we all talk about it, the more likely BHVR are to keep working on this game and perfecting it.

Playing fair can make it a bad experience for killer.

I had a match where a doctor proxycamped and tunneled. It was a really bad experience and i was the only one who did a gen. I was really pissed and didnt try to unhook myself so he waited one entire minute at the hook and hit me. Then he picked up the other slugged survivor. It was so unnecessary.

But then i remembered what happenend in the match before that. A wraith played really fair, hooked everyone twice before he killed someone and got two kills. But what was the thank for that? He got teabbaged at the exit gate til he chased the survivor out. Survivor like that teach the killer that he should never show mercy. Thats so stupid.

Its an endless cycle and i dont think it will ever stop.

I always tell people not to teabag, always. I hate it when I see that #########. Unless the killer has been toxic and clearly is trying to ruin everyone's experience, I won't teabag. But I can relate.

I don't even get why survivors teabag when the killer got two kills? They're essentially saying "haha you played well and fairly and actually got two of my teammates out of the game so that's technically a draw, but you didn't kill me so you SUCK!" It's so dumb. I pity those survivors who think they're god's, they're the ones who get hit the hardest.

Three thousand hours in this game and you only just now got around to coming to the Forum? :) I haven't noticed a damn thing different about this reset as opposed to any I've gone through before.

I mean, you can see I've been on the forum before lmao. Only recently created my account because I read a lot of forum posts anyway and have for a while, just never had the need to share my opinion until now!

And I'm not you unfortunately, so I can't relate.

Pleas point out where I told people to play a certain way also, because I just read it like 3 times and can't seem to clock what the ######### you're talking about, lmao.

Exactly when I'm playing killer if I can tell that it's a bunch of solos that aren't the best then I'll take the opportunity to have a chill match and everyone can get a load of blood points at least even if they lose, that way at least they get to play the game.

Then if it's a SWF that are flying through gens and I need to pull it back then you can bring out some heavy tactics and see what works. But I try to play every game with a new slate on not just go full try hard mode straight away unless it's needed.

Everyone please listen to this commenter, lmao. We need more players like you in this world sir😔

Didn't exactly tell anyone that they were bad for playing a certain way, but that it's actually ineffective and potentially could cost the game playing that way.

The survivors guide for killers is a big meme, but at the end of the day the rules we have put in place for ourselves were made up BY the community. I think it's fair to say that you're not gonna be winning every game by tunneling and slugging, especially at red ranks where practically all the meta perks make gens get done in half the time, Anti-Tunnel and anti-slug and exhaustion perks that let you outplay the killer at any moment.

I'm not telling people how to play, just informing them that they're not viable strategies and that they can win without using them, so enjoy your 3 upvotes I guess?

  • @RepostRiposte said:

You can say tunneling isn't nice or tunneling isn't necessary for "good killers" blah-blah-blah...

But you're just plain wrong if you think tunneling someone out of the game isn't the most optimal strategy. After many, many hundreds of hours of killer I can safely say that reducing the opponent's power by 25% is pretty darn effective.

Sure, when queing against solos you could tunnel someone out of the game, eat the DS and so on, but players who tunnel incentives more Anti-Tunnel game mechanics. The whole reason they added DS, Borrowed Time and perks like Unbreakable and Soul Guard were to counter Slugging and Tunnelling because that's not how they want you to win. And to just outright ignore the fact that you don't need to use these strategies to win is cynical.

It's less about being a good killer or being nice and more about playing efficiently and effectively and using strategies that make you win 100% of the time, rather than 25% of the time.

A chase (Unless the survivor runs into a wall) can last at 30-45 seconds minimum. When you consider each gen is 80 seconds, which can be reduced by Prove Thyself and Toolboxes, Resilience etc, that's about 480 seconds of gen time you have left, without considering you need to run to other gens, and they will be patrolled, healing and saving hooks. If you have two people on gens at all times because you're tunnelling one survivor, who might have DS, the match will probably only last around 10 minutes.

For each survivor where a chase at minimum can last 30 seconds, that's 12 hooks for each survivor times that amount which is 360 seconds. That's a whole 6 minutes, which is more than half of the lowest amount of time a game can take without considering perks, but not all chases last 30 seconds, some chases last for a good solid minute and a half but others can last up to 3-4 or even 5 minutes. That's if you don't focus on other players and do other gens.

So yeah, it's an "effective" way to get the game finished with, but you're always gonna be clutching, rather than potentially winning games with 2 or 1 gens done. Personally I see it as a boring way to play that takes no skill either but that's my opinion. (I mean they're already Injured, can't heal, might not even be at a loop of any kind and they've already been hooked once, might as well get them out of the game instead of patrolling gens or pushing other survivors out).

What are you talking about? Many games are won by chasing the weak link and getting them out of the way quickly, you claim to be hag well I haven't seen a hag that doesn't trap the hook and immediately go for the person who got unhooked. I think you're a liar.

I could tell you how I play Hag and the strategies I use, but I think they're personal to the way I play her. I don't trap hooks, though. If you're a good hag, you don't trap hooks because it's expected. Don't want to advertise my twitch here, but if you want to see proof you're more than likely to check it to see how I play!

Exactly the watch the toxic content creators and then lead by their example.

I think it's deffo a mix of both tbh, some players just see players like N00b3 and JRM being toxic, and although I wouldn't say those guys are purposefully trying to ruin other players days, they definitely so that and their impressionable audiences think that's how you should play the game. The other half just love to be awful, garbage human beings who just wish to ruin everyone's fun.

  • @Kirkylad said:

Those tactics are efficient at low ranks because they fall for it and usually don't have perks unlocked to deal with it efficiently. But at high ranks it's going to lead to a de pip or a safety pip if you're lucky.

But then again there are people out there that don't care about either and just like making the game miserable for everyone else. There's also the smart ones that do it when it's a viable strat but more often it's the other way around.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said, couldn't have said it better myself. This game is at its Peake amount of fun when EVERYONE is having fun. When you have the choice to make the game fun for everyone, you should make that choice. And if they SWF decides to teabag you at the end, ######### them. At least you're not like 95% of the toxic players on this game, lol.

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

There isn't such a thing as being unfair in a game where your job is to kill efficiently or the survivor doing what they have to do to escape.

I would disagree. Myself and a lot of others agree that when you play fairly, it's a better experience for literally everyone in the match. When you actively know you could be ruining someone's game, their entire mood and attitude in real life just because you rely on rubbish tactics that would never ever work in tournaments or against a full team of rank 1s is a shame.

I think if you can't effeciently get a 3-4k without slugging/camping/tunneling every single person, you're not as good a player as you may think you are. And at red ranks, when you rely on those tactics to win, it's bullshit, because if you're a red rank you're obviously good at the game, so you're basically just throwing yourself under the bus and instead of making the game only fun to yourself and every other player, you're only making it fun for yourself. And that isn't true either, how can you have fun relying on bs tactics if you know you don't need them to win? It just seems like a cheap bs way to win.

I skip the rank reset season generally on survivor and just play killer during that time, but I get what you mean. What do you think made this the worst one exactly? What makes this round of reset so special?

Basically in all my time playing (Which is only about a year) I've never experienced the amount of sweat and try-hard killers who care so much about their rank this much ever, and after this post I actually switched to killer, same thing on here.

Literally just quit because it's now 2:19am and I was just trying to have a nice Hag game, and here comes the 4 man SWF's with flashlights, OoO and keys, as soon as I saw that I tried to establish a 3 gen and I just couldn't, it was basically impossible for me to do so. There really needs to be an actual competitive mode introduced somehow into this game, because the amount of sweat truly makes this game insufferable most of the time and it's a shame.

But the game doesn´t lean towards killers. It´s heavily survivor sided. I´m playing solo in red ranks and i´m not ranking up anymore, because i can´t get enough altruism points before the gates are powered. My last 3 matches have been 4 man escapes.

Although this post is dumb as hell, it's definitely not survivor sided. At red ranks practically all killers have a win rate of about 60% or higher.

There are actual statistics that one of the Devs released proving this. I'll post it if people want to see it.

But I disagree with everything this guy has written on this post. Look at it like this:

In any PvP game, you can lose, draw or win. The same applies to DBD.

If you 0-1k, you've lost, because you failed to get more than half of the survivors.

If you 2k, that's a draw. Because 2 survivors escape, and 2 survivors were killed. But who wants a match to end in a draw? You don't go into CSGO expecting to draw, you don't play any competitive game expecting to draw.

If you get a 3-4k, that's a win. That's realistically how the you win in this game as killer. Survivors just need to escape. That's it.

You could also look and Trues and Otz's different perspectives on what wins are, but I think we can all agree that this^ is how you win in any competitive game. (Also these two both literally have 50+ win streak challenges where the requirements are 4ks every game).

Lastly, the sad thing is, dead by daylight is at heart a competitive game. When you get past brown ranks and actually start to care about your unlocks, what perks you have etc, this game stops being casual and instantly starts being comp. I would argue that Rank 15 is where this game turns competitive. And unfortunately, you can't play a comp game and expect to win every match, this goes for survivors as well.

I see it all the time in my teams, especially against the Nightmare, Michael or Ghostface and Wraith. Or they simply disconnect when they are downed as first or suicide on hook.

It not only is annoying as killer to get a dc/suicide but also the team is left with 1 player (or worse more) that just leave. Then try to fix 5 gens and stay alive.

I find that actions like that need to be punished more

you can get temp banned for doing it, as long as you record it as evidence and send it to dbd through their report system on their website. If you report the player as well for Unsportsmanlike, then they'll usually do something about it.

I actually tested this theory by doing the same thing on a smurf account, reported it and it got a temp ban without telling me about it. So this is proof that BHVR do deal with these things.

  • Players also get two depips if they disconnect, 1 if they kill themselves and they get no bloodpoints for disconnecting, as well as increasing matchmaking lock if they keep disconnecting in games.

I think sometimes, especially at red ranks, players just tend to turn off the game or Kill themselves if they've played against the same killer or player multiple times in the same day, or just because they've had enough of the game for that day. Usually I see this but I don't consider it toxic. It sucks for the killer and the other survivors, but they do get punished. I get though that it doesn't seem like enough sometimes.

  • If you want someone to get a penalty, the best way to go about it is to record the gameplay of the match, and then report than player with a timestamp and the video. To double down you can also email behaviour. They do deal with these issues, they just don't tell most of the player base unless they're hackers/cheaters.

If you're playing with toxic survivors and can prove that they were being toxic, ie teammates bodyblocking you and teabagging, you can just send over a report through their website.

Just provide the username as well as it can be kinda hard for them to see it. I actually tested this with a smurf account and it did get a temp ban, so they do actually deal with these situations :)
