  • Absolutely

It doesn't help that killer gets all their points just by playing the game but survivors are reliant on the killer to get their points (like if the killer is bad at chasing, you're not getting Altruism because there's no one to heal for example).

I've gotten the max BP (or damn close to it) as a killer a number of times. Even my very best survivor games usually cap at about 32000 BP. I can pretty reliably get 32K as a killer just playing an average game.

  • The Devs read this section of the forum for suggestions

Our team will be happy to read these!

I don't know how often any of these are actually implemented but this is where you'd go if you wanted to give the devs perk ideas

I... actually count sometimes too because...brain things, I guess. I want to say it is a kind of "grounding" technique for me, but I'm not sure if that's the right word for it or not, but its something I have caught myself doing outside of video games as well.

That's not crazy at all, Bot_salvo <3 I don't hum per se, but I may get sing-songy with some of the Killer chase music, its just hard not to. And sometimes just being weird/silly with survivor too when working on gens, or cleansing/blessing totems, I'll make up something and sing/hum/vibe with it lol.

I think it's because when I pick someone up as a killer, I count out loud as well (so I know if the meddling kid on my shoulder has a chance to wiggle off) and for some reason, I just moved that habit over to the survivor side even though it makes no real sense

  • I do not but I do something weirder...

    I count

I have no idea why. It gives me no advantage or useful information. I'm not counting the heartbeats or something to know when the killer is about to hit me. There's no reason for me to count.

But it's been a weird habit of mine and not one I expect to break. Mainly I suppose because I'm not really trying to break it cause it seems harmless to me.

  • ...am I missing something?

It looks like you just got kind of whooped as a killer. It happens sometimes. You'll get'em next time!

  • ET would be Eastern Time

But it's going on now is the important part

  • I'm just glad it's on Game Pass. I already got burned by The Evil Dead Game so being able to play this "for free" will be nice. Don't have to risk money on it.

When I'm getting tunneled that's when it's the most exciting. I'm pretty great at looping killers so I can usually loop them enough they either get irritated and go after someone else, or they stay on me and get ran for 5 gens. Either way, it was fun for me! I hope it was fun for them! But yeah tunneling is fun not cheesy otherwise I'm just holding M1 on a generator all game and that's boring AF.

It certainly CAN be fun if you are in the....right position for lack of a better term. I just find a lot of times if you're being tunneled, either through bad luck for you or stuff has been used up, if you are tunneled in a dead zone, there's not a whole lot you can do about it.

I was just watching someone on Twitch that I thought is fitting for this discussion. They had a Bubba. This Bubba didn't camp at all. Always left hook. They were good with the chainsaw though. The first time this person was downed by the chainsaw he was saying "why couldn't he just hit me with his mallet?" At the end the guy is raging and saying how the killer was a piece of ######### and they used cheap tactics by only using the chainsaw and not using the mallet to hit survivors.

I wanted to chime in but it was a followers only chat and I didn't want to follow someone like that.

Guess to this person, killers aren't allowed to use their powers.

Edit: I'm losing my mind. I forgot I just posted in here. Sorry for the multiple posts.

LOL did I play them on Xbox last week? Got such a salty boi message that I was just playing a braindead killer and they'd have destroyed me if I wasn't playing such a baby no skill killer πŸ˜…

They actually changed it so that people will get their auric cells back for licensed characters instead of Iri shards!

It's just as Abraham Lincoln used to say: "Bullying Companies on The Internet works!"

  • It's one of the few "weapons" survivors have against the killer.

Even then though you can turn it around on survivors. Unless you're going to a farther away hook, you have time to hit a survivor twice and still hook the person on your shoulders. If you're running out of time, hit the survivor once and then drop the one from your shoulder. You now have a downed survivor AND you should have a soon to be downed survivor you can also take down quickly.

Body blocking the hook is one of the riskier last ditch effort plays a survivor team can make. Use it to your advantage.

Tie in with meet you maker. It’s another BHVR game being made

    Ooooooooooh...

    ...is it any good?

  • He doesn't deserve it (even if he DID play Quote Unquote Scummy) and it's unfortunate there are too many people that either don't understand the effect their words can have on people or even worse, don't care.

  • I have a few "builds" I go with depending on my mood. Lately, I've been playing a lot more of my "Fun!" builds because...well...they're fun!

Two perks I have on every build is Kindred and Lithe. Kindred because i feel useless as a solo player if I can't have it and Lithe because ZOOM ZOOM ZOOOOOOM! (even though that stupid perk gets me killed a lot because it seems like even after you've taken a step away from the window, you're still getting hit...)

Then pending what I'm doing, I throw on a different perk and interchange them. Bond if I feel like I want to be more useful on the team. Circle of Healing if I'm feeling sweaty. Prove Thyself if I'm using a high objective offering. Really the only one super useful perk I just won't use it Dead Hard.

Then my current favorite mix of stuff when I'm having fun; Distraction, Blast Mine, or Flashbang! I really like those three in particular because they allow me to "work" for something. Just watching the little bar fill up before I can chuck a pebble at the killer or blow something up in their face is super fun!

  • It's both a blessing and a curse that I don't play nearly as often as I used to (I still end up with like...1 million BP between killer and survivor but I used to routinely hit the 2 mil BP max out)

  • If I don't count games where I let the killer kill me in EGC, I'd wager my escape rate is 30-40ish percent. I've never really bothered to track but that feels about right.

Is it possible we're playing wildly different games? I suppose it's not impossible but that feels like an unlikely explanation...

  • DBD is just proving the old horror trope; Man is the real Monster

  • Because I don't wanna

I'm not even all that sure why I don't, I just...usually don't. There's no real rhyme or reason to it, I just don't *shrugs*

  • Their idea of fun is tormenting other players. You have no reason at all to mind or care about anything they have to say.

  • I think a lot of people seemed to have hit that point. New killers certainly help but years of the same setup over and over again will eventually take their toll.

I'm still enjoying the game well enough but I also don't play nearly as much as I used to. Some of that is frustration, some of that is nothing to play towards (while great for new players, the new perk unlock setup instantly made everyone have everything unlocked for me), and some is just boredom of the game just never changing.

I hope you get your spark back (or ideally BHVR figures something out to put that spark back into the game) but I get where you're coming from.

  • Y'all can use whatever strategy you want.

I hate 3 gens because I don't want to play in a damn match for 40 minutes. I hate getting camped because I actually do want to play the game at some point this match. I hate getting tunneled because it's a cheesy AF way to play and I don't get much of a chance to do anything. I hate getting slugged as the third person because the killer insists that they need the 4K to "win".

But they're all strategies you are allowed to do so go nuts killers. I'd like to hope there are more killers like myself who would take a Fun 0K game over a Boring 4K game (or a Fun Death rather than a Boring Escape) every time but I understand that not everybody prefers that.

  • When I hook someone in my basement, I like to tell them that it's time for them to meet The Entity

Well, when DbD 2 comes out, we won't have to imagine

I do wonder if that's a major reason why they never created a sequel and have just kept building on DBD instead.

I don't know how Rights would work so if they'd have to renegotiate for people (and killers like Freddy would probably get cut doing this considering how unwilling to play ball with BHVR Newline Cinema seems to be) or what but I imagine you'd have a lot of unhappy peeps if they created DBD 2 and either just dumped a bunch of characters or made everyone rebuy their DLC

Although fighting games seem to get away with this all the time so maybe there'd be some anger but people would just accept and deal with it overall.

  • I legit think I'd quit the game if BHVR pulled that kind of stunt on us here

You either give me a refund or you've essentially stolen from me. If you were willing to steal from me this time, why would I ever trust that you won't do it again later?

Like...75% of my life is designed for the kittys :D

They have a heated bed in the living room and a heating pad in my bedroom. I'm considering though switching the pad out and buying another one of those heated beds because the bed is always on where I have to "turn on" the pad, which is just a pain in the butt...

  • Well except for Whiskers, I don't like to play as any of those killers so I'd keep playing killer like I do and just not keep Whiskers in my rotation πŸ˜…

  • Blood Warden and Oppression are my boys!!!

BW commonly never even comes into play so many games, I'm just playing with three perks. But when you 4K a bully squad that got a little too close to the sun at the EGC...

Oppression I just really like even though there are better gen kick perks but can be super handy against a team not paying close attention

On survivor, even though it's just kind of a bad perk, I still like to run Blast Mine. Just a perk that you "build" to is kind of fun to me

Do you have any kitty tunnels? Those are fun for when the cats chase eachother. They're usually $20 in toy aisle but if you wait for Halloween/Christmas they usually have seasonal ones that end out going to clearance for like $2 even they're exactly the same as non-holiday ones.

I didn't buy one for Holly as she never showed interest in anything like that but Olive liked to crawl into places so I bought one. As expected, Olive uses it a lot in play while Holly rarely touches it

    PXL_20230310_141612107.jpg

Here is KITTY WORLD with their tunnel, toy bin, spinner toy, big tower, and heated cat bed because these cats live better than most humans :D

They're making progress, that's what matters. My cats are snuggle buddies because they grew up together.

It also helps that Darryl is the biggest snuggle buddy and demands constant snuggles. Not long after I took that picture Dante wanted to get up and stretch but Darryl wouldn't let him. Darryl would hold Dante down and bite his head until he stopped trying to get up. I ended up shaking treat bag so Darryl would get off Dante. Dante did the biggest stretch when he could finally move. πŸ˜‚

These two don't cuddle but they are playing together, which is great. They tear around the house chasing each other around, which is fun!

You forgot Oni and he is the real m1 killer not having anything else at start of match than just m1. Hag, deathslinger and dredge would not make my list as all of them have antiloop to counter looping which is kinda opposed to normal m1 killers who can be looped.

I totally understand when you say it's more a 'feeling' than an actual strict rule. I think that's what the community as a whole seems to go by, even though as you say there are plenty of exceptions. Trapper can injure and even grab people off of hooks without ever using an m1, but most people consider him an m1 killer, and as you say, almost no one puts Nurse on the list even though if she -only- uses her power, she can't damage anyone.

Myers would always be an m1 killer, his power is stalking but it doesn't damage. Even in t3 he needs to m1 in order to down/kill people.

I would however strongly disagree with Demo and Pyramid Head, they're two of the obvious 'not m1 killers' since they can consistantly deal damage with their power. If you consider them m1 killers then you could just call ALL killers m1 killers.

and that's why it can get goofy and weird cause, like tunneling or camping, each player has their own definition of it.

I don't consider Oni a M1 killer (even though one could argue he has the same shortcomings as Myers does and I count him as a M1 killer) and I do consider PH and Demo as M1 killers because both of their special attacks can be clunky as hell and if you miss them, you've lost any time you'd have saved (and usually more) if you'd have just taken the extra two steps to slap the survivor.

  • It's kind of hard to describe and I don't think there's a neat "definition" for it. Generally it would be considered a killer whose primary way to attack is M1. But I don't think anyone would ever consider The Nurse to be a M1 killer and at least I would argue that Myers IS a M1 killer (even though Nurse can only hit with a M1 attack and Myers has Tier 3).

With how complicated some of the attacks are, it's almost more of....a feeling than it is a hard rule.

Just looking at the list, this would be my personal breakdown of M1 killers:

Trapper, Wraith, Hag, Doctor, Myers, Freddy, Pig, Clown, Spirit, Legion, Plague, Demo, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Cenobite, Onryo, Dredge, and Skull Merchant

Some of those wouldn't "technically" be M1 killers if you go by their powers (Myers, Pyramid Head, Plague, and Demo being the outliers). Trapper would definitely not be if you go with the "Their powers can't hurt you" definition but I can't imagine there are many people who would call Trapper not a M1 killer

So...that's my long winded way of saying IDK :D

  • I have yet to run into any glitches or problems on my Series X but I know last gen is far more iffy with this game so it certainly wouldn't shock me if they broke it some more...

  • No, let's not

I would take every single survivor in every one of my games running Nu DH before I would even consider talking about maybe entertaining the possibility of Old DH coming back.

Old DH legit had me ready to quit the game over and if they brought it back, I'd not play killer again.

  • Damn, that's brutal for indoor maps I guess :D

    Thanks!

  • I like playing as The Knight and while I've only played as Skull Lady twice (since I'm on console so no PTB for me), I have enjoyed her so far.

Didn't it use to be run by BHVR though? Do you know why that changed?

My understanding is that it never was so if it used to be, I could be incorrect about the Discord being run by BHVR

I swear Mandy has stated in the past that the Discord isn't affiliated with BHVR but I could be wrong. I'll search around, see if I can find it

  • Yes

It's not something I do terribly often and I don't really even have a set schedule since my headache junk is not consistent. But I've been streaming Elden Ring for my buddies who love Elden Ring a bit too much and wish to live vicariously through me playing through it for the first time. It's super good!

I also consistently run "The Cat Cam" when I stream so there's a very good chance that you'll see Holly or Olive on camera at times :D I actually bought a second camera for it but as unfortunately my old camera just isn't working well so still just the one. I'm hoping to have a second one up and running come next stream (one that is free moving for when the cats are awake and one static on the Cat Tree at all times since if they are asleep, one is usually in there).

  • I don't believe Microsoft releases the official numbers but from what I can find on The Google...

Approx 25 million users subscribe to Game Pass (remember Ultimate comes with Gold, regular GP does not, the site I saw doesn't break down the difference)

According to that same site, approx 125 million users are on Xbox Live.

Even if these numbers are unreliable, the fact that Microsoft still continually pushes to get more people to sign up for their service would lead one to believe that a large number of users do not subscribe to GP

Even if it were all GP users, being free for the weekend is free advertising for DBD. Just because you have GP doesn't mean you know of DBD and seeing it on the front page might get someone who hasn't heard of or played it might get their interest.
