  • I never read the comics but I will bet you probably won't see anything from there. Something from the show is most likely because that's what both Buckle Up quote and MOM perk icon references and it's IMO the most popular form of the series in current memory.

Right now it's either Eligos or Cheryl, with a small chance it will be Baal. Everything else is either too silly to be a killer, too inconsequential to the series, or just wouldn't work. Ruby for example just wouldn't make a good killer at all. She's an antagonist, yes, but she's not really killer material. Same goes for Necronomicon Pablo, it just wouldn't make sense in the context of the game.

  • I treat her like a hybrid between Huntress and LF.

You do NOT want her to get close to you. You want to keep as much distance as possible and break LOS often. If you are not sick and she pukes on a pallet or window, run to another loop. If you are sick just keep looping and don't worry about the sickness. Only worry when you are close to being Broken, so you usually want to drop the pallet a little early.

If she has Corrupt Purge, do not just vault windows or drop pallets willy nilly. Keep looping and focus more intensely on breaking LOS. Pretty much like Huntress at this point. Don't go for unsafe rescues when she has Corrupt Purge, unless you have BT.

If you get the chance to clean the sickness, go to the farthest, most out of the way fountain you can to force her to waste time if she wants Corrupt Purge. If you are not 100% sick you can rush gens, but stop before you get to 100% or you will infect the gen. If you are super ballsy and want to completely deny her Corrupt Purge stay sick as long as you can just be careful not to spread it to others. Stay away from them and do gens solo. In fact, do your best to never group up so she can't hit more than 1 of you with a single purge.

  • Resilience. Dead Hard. Probably also to bait you to chase them.

  • Clown, Doc, Legion, and Myers I have played the least.

LF and Wraith I don't think I've played at all.

Really no interest in any of these killers, with Doc and Legion being killers I just despise with a passion.

Except Myers, I would like to play him but I don't have good perks and just enjoy playing other killers too much to make attempts. Someday.

Most would be Spirit, Freddy, Hag, Huntress, Pig, Billy, Trapper, and Nurse (console too). However Nurse and Huntress are softly retired for me until they optimize the game enough that frame drops don't completely ruin the game for me. Also now Plague, who I will probably main for a while because I'm really enjoying her. Need to get that p3 ASAP.

  • This is funny because before I signed off before I set my offering to Lery's to try it out for her. Prolly still gonna do it just to see for myself. Every killer has bad maps though as @Gay Myers (Luzi) said (except Trapper, he is IMO the only killer that does not have a "bad" map, mostly all neutral because he can shut down strong loops on the "bad" maps with traps).

  • Yes the glow is a new effect I think to signal to the killer that someone sponged a hit that would put you into dying state. The leaked perk Mettle Of Man does the same thing. IMO a good choice because sometimes as killer it's disorienting to land a hit and they just keep running. Now when you see that glow you will know you hit them but the hit was sponged.

  • I think it has to do with the amount of infection. The survivor has to have 100% sickness to spread it to other survivors or objects. It might also have something to do with puking. If you save someone and they puke on you, then you get sick. If they don't I think you are okay. Not 100% sure on either of these though.

  • @Eninya said:

This will become the new "chase me!" perk, but Rancor and Save the Best for Last will probably counter it pretty hard.

Mettle of Man would be good with Self Care to 99%. MoM absorbs a hit, and then you heal, get hit again, and then again if you have an instant heal. Even more hilarious if you also have Dead Hard and juke a hit.

I didn't think of this. It could be possible that getting hit might reset healing progress. I'll have to check, but prolly won't happen. There are too many circumstances to test and my friends don't want to be doing lab work, they want to play normal games LOL.

Current "counters" that I've used and experienced are the same you see a lot of people use against Leatherface players: running in a circle around a wide tree or wide and tall rock. Also much like Leatherface, Plague can down you with relative ease on a straight stretch with zero structures around. Basically you just need to constantly break LoS with her.

Yea she's like a mix between Huntress and LF in how you counter her power. You also want to throw the pallet a little early if you are going to get Broken, most of the time doing that will save you. When she has Corrupt Purge you have to play more to avoid LOS, but since she loses the sickness power you don't have to worry about getting infected/Broken.

I found that you should do gens if you are sick up until you get Broken (which spreads the sickness on the gen). If you can do that you can usually save time. Also you should go to the farthest, most out of the way pool first to clean yourself so that she has to waste time to get Corrupt Purge.

  • @Supernaut I'm on Xbox. Played some more I'm sitting at over 50% complete having only played ~8 games.

  • What was the original Left Behind?

@Madjura Really? I feel like the Dream World makes everything brighter, and survivors seem much easier to find. As for it being "too easy" to wake up, there are add-ons that help with this. You might argue that it's not enough to help his case, but all the times that I have used Freddy offerings, I've gotten 3k's without anything. No perks, no add-ons, nada. I actually really enjoy playing him.

People that say it's "easy to wake up" are probably the ones that sleep someone and hit them THEN change targets. If you sleep them and don't hit them, as the game goes on it's actually harder to wake up. If the Freddy is good, when you find someone to wake you he will be right there to sleep you both. Do that enough and everyone is asleep with only 4 gens to wake up at, now it's going to be VERY hard to wake up.

So with the weapon wipe cooldown and the speed boost this is basically more powerful than DS was.

    Also aura reading...

If it activates, you take a hit, sponge it, take another hit, go down - does that end the perk? Meaning aura reading doesn't even come into play?

Only if you healed first. So if you take a hit during a chase and still end up being caught, the aura reading is still active. However you need to heal to activate the aura reading in the first place.

  • Did more testing. Can confirm now that you do get the speed boost when hit and it triggers.

Also the aura reading effect lasts from the moment it is used to the next time you are put into dying. So it's not permanent for the entire game, just until the next time you get caught. However, considering that it needs 3 hits to activate, if you include the 4th sponge hit, that's 2 chases. On your third chase, when it would deactivate entirely, you would likely be dead anyway.

  • I have a feeling you won't like the next killer because leaks say it's name is "The #########".

  • According to the wiki, the add-ons that increase movement speed while holding add 0.3 m/s, which 7.5%. That could be a clue to how much the base ms while charging is. Considering you seem to move FASTER than normal with these add-ons while charged, that probably means that it is indeed greater than, but not equal to, 110%.

  • The quote on Buckle Up is directly from the show, meaning Evil Ash from AoD is definitely not going to be the killer. The rights to that film are owned by a separate company.

It will 100% be someone from the show, and 100% will be a demon. Evil Ash v2 is out because of this, as he's not a demon per say just an evil clone of Ash that works for the demons.

It won't be the Kandarian Demon from the finale because he is huge.

It probably won't be a Deadite because it's too generic. They would more likely go with someone specific.

It could be Baal, however IMO he is stronger than The Entity and is too human looking to be a killer. However his power would be pretty cool (he skins people and wears the skin to impersonate them).

This leaves only Eligos as the possible killer. It makes the most sense. He is a demon. He is from the show. He is powerful but could be controlled by The Entity. He is scary looking. And he has a potentially cool power using his mind manipulation/teleportation abilities.

EDIT: Actually it could be Cheryl. She is Ash's sister and her possession/death/resurrection was a big plot point in the show. She would make a really good killer too.

  • It's either 5 or 6. What I've been doing is ignoring the ones on the edge of the map and just use the ones close to the middle, and as long as you keep using it to prevent them all from resetting you can force survivors to come to you.

  • People saying it's 110 I disagree. You are slower, but it's not that much. You can still catch up faster than a 110 killer on certain loops. I think it's 112.5, or 4.5 m/s, which is like Hag using Waterlogged Shoe.

What's meant by that is that if you get to the 3 stacks (from regular attacks only) you can tank a chainsaw hit, but only if you get hit while injured. If you are downed from full health (Exposed, chainsaws) then it never activates.

Only the killer's basic attack (m1) will count towards activating the perk. If you are Billy or Huntress you can use your power on the MoM user and it will never trigger.

However when it IS active, any hit that would put you into dying from injured would get sponged. This now includes hatchets and chainsaws.

So you can use your power on some killers to avoid giving them points towards activation, but once activated it doesn't matter how you go down. The only way you can bypass it is with a one shot when they are healthy, because it requires you to go from injured to dying.

If they never heal to stay injured so it triggers, then in a sense it's like they healed themselves. Therefore all it does is just turn a chase on an injured survivor into a chase on a healthy survivor.

  • @TAG said:

Just to make sure I am understanding this correctly, once you successfully use Mettle of Man to sponge a hit, you can never do so again for the rest of the trial?

Also, when the hit is sponged, does the Killer still get a successful hit cooldown (since the Survivor apparently does not the damage speed boost)?

Yes it's once per trial. And yes you get a blood wipe animation. It's like hitting someone on a hook. I can't 100% confirm you don't get the speed boost. My friend claims he did get it but on my side it looked like he just kept running like normal. I have to try it again to be sure.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

You also can't pip as a surv. 4 x Gold is still a safety. How is a surv supposed to loop the killer for 3 gens, repair 3 gens and unhook 3 survs all in one single match?

Exactly this. You literally have to do everything by yourself to have a chance to pip. Not only that, but if the killer you face is bad then you DEFINITELY will not pip, because you can't get Benevolence and you more than likely won't get better than silver Lightbringer because gens will go so quick.

On killer side it's actually not as bad. Some killers are definitely penalized more, but overall I think it's a positive change for killers.

The points needed to pip should not have been changed. The emblems should have been changed to make it harder to get iridescent. You should only be getting iri's if you play extraordinarily well. Silvers and golds should still be considered good enough to pip. The only change to the pip system should have been red ranks have no safety pip, and purple/red ranks should require 15 or 16 points to double pip (so 4 iri, or 3 iri 1 gold). The pip/safety pip everywhere else should stay the same. Otherwise you are punished for playing well against bad opponents.

Not only that both sides can screw over the other. If a killer decides to camp the first guy in red ranks, he depips the whole lobby. If a survivor DC's he depips the killer, and likely depips the other survivors as well (they still have a chance to pip but not a very good one).

  • After watching Tyde's video he pointed out something I missed which is HUGE and makes this perk a giant risk.

After using MoM and healing, your aura is revealed to the killer when outside 16m. THE CARD DOES NOT SPECIFY A TIME FRAME, meaning that this effect is likely permanent. This is actually a HUGE drawback because now the killer will always know where you are and what you are doing. And no, you don't get to see their aura too like OOO, so this is a net benefit to killer. Either you have to stay injured for the rest of the trial or you have to take the risk the killer can see you almost all the time.

  • @Caretaker No it would be...

Hit, BT, Hit, DH, Hit, MoM, Hit, DS

MoM only takes effect on the hit that would put you into dying, and if you are in BT killers can break the chase to make the timer tick down and now everything after doesn't matter.

The bigger problem is that you as killer are tunneling the guy with BT who might also have DS. If you just let them go after the BT hit you won't get hit by DS. You really should be punished for tunnelling. I know this isn't always an option when the gates are open or something but... you shouldn't be letting it get that far in the first place. You have to accept that if you find yourself in this specific situation that you just played poorly as killer, not necessarily that survivors are OP.

Also if you are someone like Billy or Huntress you can avoid MoM entirely by avoiding to use your main weapon on the obsession as much as possible.

  • Yes it only works once.

  • After you get hit 3 times by the killer's basic attack it becomes active. The next hit you take while injured that would put you into dying state is ignored. Highlight key parts here because it seems that chainsaws, hatchets, purge, and bear traps do not count towards activating the perk.

I should add that to the list.

  • I've only played 2 games so far as Plague and I have 6 towards the achievement. I think you have to puke on them until they are Broken then down them. Maybe it's bugged for you?

  • I will say yes. She doesn't feel cheap and has counter play but can be a real challenge if it's a good killer. This having both played as and against her.

  • I can't even start a game right now. Just says "Wait time unknown".

I never thought I'd say this but between the poor matchmaking system and the broken ranking system I don't want to play this game anymore.

  • It has sucked today. I'm finding the new pip conditions absolutely stupid. I play super well and still only safety pip. You have to play perfectly to pip at purple/red ranks and it's really stupid, especially when killers have to play well to give you enough chances to get Evader/Benevolence. If the killer sucks and you can't get those medals it is literally impossible to rank up.

Plague isn't so bad. She's tough but I've been doing a good job of running from her. Corrupt Purge is hard to dodge. I kind of treat her like Huntress, throw the pallet early and just break LOS.

  • Probably just wrong text. Patch notes have what it should be. It would be nice it was actually like this though.

  • The problem is the new pip conditions. Requiring that many points to pip basically means you have to play perfect AND survivors do too. If survivors are potatoes and you don't get enough Chaser/Devout then you can't pip even if you body them.

It's just as bad for survivors. If the killer is bad then you can't pip because you don't have enough opportunities to get emblem points. You need to do 3 gens by yourself for iri Lightbringer, which almost never happens. If killer camps you can't get Benevolence.

Red ranks will be a ghost town because nobody will be able to get there.

  • It's not just pallet stun it's any stun. DS, Head On, wiggle free they all reset her power bar. I think the only other killer with a power meter is Legion so someone should test if it happens to them too.

  • If killer decides to camp though you can't pip. Your Benevolence gets screwed really hard.

I'd imagine if those were the candidates it would be Baal as he would be more humanoid. Although for both characters their primary role is deception or possession. Although I'd be surprised if it was Baal because you can't exactly allow a killer in this game to instantly kill someone to wear their skin like a suit. If I recall correctly Eligos just outright takes over their body.

That's why I can only really imagine Evil Ash being a killer because he'd primarily use brute force. Although if BHVR could think of a cool way to use Eligos' or Baal's powers in game I'd be down.

The only reason I don't think it could be Baal is because he might be more powerful than The Entity from a lore standpoint. Also he is "too human" looking to be a killer. Eligos is both scary looking and has a potentially cool power with his mind control abilities so I think he is more likely.

where did the sounds come from? the glass wasn't there at the end of phase animation before, and it's loud.

From what my friend is telling me it seems to come from the husk. But it's hard to tell since it's not at all consistent.

  • It seems to happen more often with Prayer Beads but there's still no consistency to it. My guess is it has something to do with the new sound occlusion and this new sound effect that happens at the end of phase walk activation on Spirit's side.

  • Tested some more. There is a sound survivors can hear when the Spirit is phase walking but it's not consistent at all. Sometimes it happens on activation, sometimes in the middle of phase walk, sometimes when coming out of phase walk, and most of the time not at all. I'm almost positive this is a bug now. I'm trying Prayer Beads to see if it's more consistent.

  • Okay it seems inconsistent. There is definitely a new sound effect on Spirit's end when you start the phase walk (it happens at the end of the activation phase, it sounds like a window breaking instead of just glass cracking). My friend said he did not hear it at all until he was right next to me. Still testing we had some connection issues.

  • I'm testing it now. Will report back shortly.

Yeah I know it's based on Ash Vs Evil Dead but I still want some sort of chance to see more iconic stuff referenced with killer addons. Although in Ash vs Evil Dead in season 2 Ash does get a doppelganger regardless it's happened in almost every movie / series with him aside from the first / second one. Although I'm trying to remember which one he gets possessed in as it's been a while.

I'm hoping this potential chapter at least gives us the cabin with the broken out bridge and maybe references to the necronomicon tree that would be sick.

Yea but that doppleganger wasn't like Evil Ash from the movies. He looked exactly like Ash but was just evil. It makes more sense for it to be Baal or Eligos.

  • @Dustin said:

Make Ash's undead doppelganger the killer so there is two Ash's on the map.

Won't happen because rights to Army of Darkness is owned by a different company, and that film is not canon in the show (which Buckle Up proves that this chapter will be based on the show not the films).

  • If it's the glass cracking sound that could be a bug, since that's the sound she hears when she starts to phase walk.

  • @Saint_Ukraine said:

Nice. New licensed survivor revealed. What would the killer be? I've never seen Evil Dead.

According to the quote on Buckle Up, this version of Ash is from the show so most likely the killer will be a demon, and the two top candidates are Baal and Eligos as they are the only demons ever to appear on the show, aside from possessed humans and the giant demon in the finale.

  • Guys I removed the image I don't want to get banned. Sorry.

  • Buckle Up quote references the show Ash Vs Evil Dead, meaning that we will be getting that version of Ash and not the film version (of which the show is based on).

Since the potential killer is almost definitely going to be a demon, there are only 2 possible options IMO. Baal from season 2 or Eligos from season 1. Evil Ash from Army Of Darkness is also a possibility, however this film is not 100% canon to the show as some one else owns the rights, therefore it stands to reason that we won't see Evil Ash as the killer.

  • Updated OP with new image that includes the perk icons.

  • @CuloBlanco said:

Are you able to use them in KYF???

I haven't tried yet. A friend told me about "Ashley" s perks in KYF and then after looking at them I realized it was Ash from Evil Dead. I'll see if I can get some clips, but don't hold your breathe.

@DavidKing Yes apparently he is. When we don't know.

  • Here are ALL of the changes to Plague:

-Corrupt Purge base duration is now 60 seconds instead of 45 seconds.

-Increased The Plague Brutality and Deviousness scoring.

-Increased the duration of infection of environmental objects to 35 seconds instead of 20 seconds.

-Slightly increased The Plague movement speed while charging Vile Purge and Corrupt Purge.

-Slightly reduced The Plague movement Speed while fully charged and holding Vile Purge and Corrupt Purge.

-Survivor infection no longer resets once The Survivor is hooked.

-Vile Purge can now correctly infect gate switches.

-When all Pools of Devotion have been corrupted, all corrupted Pools of Devotion reset and The Killer automatically gains the Corrupt Purge effect.

So overall she got buffed, only her movement speed while holding here power was nerfed.
