Then what about Demogorgon? His map has sci-fi horror written all over it. :(
However, I understand your opinion tho! Personally, I don't mind what the killer is as long as they are decent! :)
It's more supernatural horror with some sci-fi elements than straight sci-fi horror like Aliens is.
-
Where is the "Spirit is not overpowered" option?
Bias poll is bias.
-
No. Too sci-fi horror. DBD is supernatural/classic horror.
-
Camping your totem is how you lose the game though.
Just take chases and try to catch at least one before it gets taken out. It's not supposed to last all game dude.

Yea I changed it for fear you or someone else thought I was serious LOL
I could change it back if you want.

well... i mean, her theme was mutated rabbit monster thingy, so those were supposed to be claws i guess?
idk xD
i personally never noticed them though xD
If they looked more like claws and less like she just flat out didn't trim them for 20 years then yea that'd be fine.
I noticed the first time I kicked a pallet. Took off that ish and never put it back on.
Also while I generally liked her mask, I felt like the googely eyes were too goofy looking. Pennywise can get away with those eyes because he would do something creepy at the same time but that mask just looking silly to me.
All the other skins, and the axe I liked. Just a hard no to those toenails, and a soft no to the goofy eyeballs on her mask.

weren't the Hallowed Blight skins designed to be gross though?
just saying, there is this slime dripping out of their bodies everywhere, they are horribly disfigured, etc.
There's cool gross and then there's just nasty gross.
The yellow drippy goop stuff was cool. The mutation effects were cool. Foot long toenails are not cool, it's just disgusting. I gag whenever I see it.
-
Spirit, but only if it's not super gross. I found the Huntress's HB body skin to be super nasty gross because her toenails are like a foot long.
*shutters*
And before someone says it, no gross is not scary. Gross is gross. When you see a dog turd walking through the park you're not going to be scared of it, you are going to be grossed out by it. And yes, there are plenty examples of gross in horror movies, but the gross is not what makes it scary. It's always something else about it that makes it scary, and gross is just added on. Example zombies. Zombies are gross, but that's not why they are scary. They are scary because they will attack and eat you, and if you get bit you turn into a zombie. However decayed or nasty looking the zombie doesn't change how scary it is, just how disgusted you are to be near it.

To be fair, no developers that make multi-platform games ever care about console players.

wait wat...this is different than what the guy above said?!?
I think you misunderstood him. When he said "regression penalties" I believe he meant from failed skill checks, because Ruin does punish you more when you fail a skill check. Of course he could come correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how I read it.
Dresses require failed skill checks to proc as far as I know. I could be wrong though, but I'm fairly positive that's how it works.

Other than that, the list is okay.
From patch notes 3.3:

-
What do you have against Kate though?
-
Yes it will stack but only on failed skill checks. It won't affect normal skill checks, those will just be affect by Ruin.

Absolutely. I’ve played many killers and heard a survivor breathing next to me and I started a chase. Usually it’s a female. Meg and Feng tend to have the loudest breathing. I also love when I hear an immersed Blendette breathing.
thesuicidefox playing Dead by Daylight: Special Edition. View more XboxOne clips at XboxClips.comI found the Meg in this clip because as I walked by I heard a very faint GASP that I knew was definitely her. And with my Astro's I could pinpoint both the direction and general distance she was. That's why I turn very sharply to her because I knew exactly where she was. From the literal smallest noise a survivor can make. If her character didn't gasp right there I would have walked right past her. It's so faint I don't even think you can hear it in the clip.
That's the power of a good headset. Of course playing Spirit has honed my hearing much more, but it doesn't matter who I play. I can do this with anyone.

She’s easy to play if you’ve played her for a while So is Huntress and Nurse if you have played them for a while. I didn’t automatically pick up how to play Spirit when I first used her when she was released.
You’re not gonna pick up Spirit one day and be a good Spirit.
Although good headphones make it A LOT easier to play her for sure.
Good headphones make it easier to play any killer honestly. If you are injured and on or near the same tile as me I will hear you and find you. Doesn't matter who I am. And I'll hear you breathing in close range, or grass moving, or footsteps, or whatever other sounds survivors make.

You're a Spirit AND Kate main.
Yeah we can never be friends. Sorry buddy.
No one plays her? Do you even dbd at red ranks? So many people play her.
Since when did I not expect spirit mains to show up? My OP was tagging a Spirit main @Rin_is_my_waifu to be exact.
I always face her and I hate her. Which is why i started this thread. Stop your assumptions
I main Kate and Spirit too.
I wouldn't say Spirit is easy to beat, but she does indeed have counter play. Stealth in particular is super effective against her. Super immersed survivors are the most difficult things to deal with as a Spirit player. Can't lose a chase if you never get found.
Also you can totally predict her and bait her to do certain things. Her power has a 15 second cool down at base, so you need to actively track how long she was phase walking (5 seconds max at base) and how long it's been since she phase walked to play around her. And you can loop her at windows, because she can't vault while phasing. This is why it's generally a smart idea to just drop the pallet and treat it like a window. Either she has to mind game you and predict what you are doing or break the pallet.
Iron Will, Spine Chill, Q&Q, DWM... all these perks are devastating to her. Meta perks (DS, BT) on the other hand actually aren't a problem for her. I will knowingly eat your DS without a care because I know I can just phase walk after you and most likely catch you again in less than 10 seconds. Or proc BT because I can just brute force my way through it. I'd rather deal with 4 DS's than IW/SC combo.
The thing is, playing against the Spirit takes a certain skill set majority of survivors don't have. I can tell during the first chase which side you fall on. Most survivors are an easy AF catch because they do really stupid or obvious things. The good survivors though, they will run me around for a good amount of time and/or hide very well making me waste time looking for them. Just one of these survivors in a game with IW/SC will cost you the match.

I never said you should never cleanse while playing solo. And solos still can't coordonate their cleanses, one cleanse at the wrong time and the entire team can be doomed.
Yes they can. You just wait until everyone is sick, then you all rush fountains. If one of you is also smart enough to have been working on a gen and return to get sick again, you can use the last fountain and force her to get Corrupt, denying her more Corrupt in the process.
I've coordinated with solo good survivors all the time. No comms, we just understood what the other was doing and what the smart thing to do was. Granted that's not going to be the norm, but to say solos can't coordinate is simply a false statement.
-
@Marcus said:

This strat is only viable in a 4 man SWF group. Solo teammates won't be able to coordonate their cleanses in such way + you need to cleanse when Plague is far away from you, otherwise she can just grab her Corrupt Purge and down you.
To be fair you can get equally as bodied if you don't cleanse when playing solo. Especially if she has Thana/DL.
And solos can understand whats the optimal strategy. When they see Plague with Thana/DL they should know to cleanse super faster to reset fountains.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
what if she has iridescent seal
That add-on is so ass because of the penalties. Plus if it's a game where 2-3 gens pop your first chase you will seriously lose out on Corrupt, and due to being forced into it you won't be able to spread enough sickness enough to get it from fountains.

I could be wrong but I don’t remember the number being so low.
It's definitely low. I know I've never seen more than 5 lit at once as Plague, so the number has to be around 5 or 6.
Next time you are survivor get sick and count the fountains.
-
First choice would be Anti-vax mom.
Second choice would be Chucky.

She has 10 fountains? Or was that changed? Hard to get my solo mates to go immersed at the same time as me.
No it's definitely not 10. 6 at most. If you don't grab them fast enough survivors can do them all really quick and you basically get screwed out of Corrupt. Plague is all about using Corrupt at the right time, but when survivors control it like that you can easily lose the game. I'd almost rather a game where no one cleanses than where they do it too fast for me to keep up.

You mean like the Marilyn Monroe "oh no the wind is blowing my dress up" pose? I'd accept that nerf.
-
Actually considering that the Thana/Dying Light combo is especially strong on her, it's probably the best idea to cleanse as much as possible. She has I think 5 fountains so if you all cleanse at once, then someone re-infects themselves and cleanses again, you can force her to get Corrupt and then play immersed until it wears off. This forces her to reset all the fountains, and it will actually screw her over. I know I've gotten screwed a few times because survivors cleansed too fast and forced my Corrupt at a time when I didn't want it, and then when it ran out I had to basically start from scratch infecting people and was a huge waste of my time.

But is it a mind game if they fail to think?

IMO they cover up her body way too much in her base/P3 skins. So I would remove probably like 99% of clothing from her. It's burdensome.
😱
-
It doesn't matter how good your matchmaking system is, there is no way to calculate stupid.
-
Short answer: No.
Long answer: No, and it sucks to be you if you have an RBT and Pig is following you while crouched.
-
Considering killers like Huntress and Billy lose PWYF stacks when using their power, it's safe to assume that Demo will too. If not that might be game breaking actually.
It'd be about as good for Demo as any other killer I'd say.

I have almost a thousand hours at the game and this is the first time that I've heard that her husk can be destroyed.
Maybe I have to aim the flashlight lower while she is breaking the pallet since people are saying she can actually be blinded. Some of friends also said that they can't blind her so I don't know why this happens.
You can't destroy the husk. More than likely what is happening is she is ending phase walk right as you hit the husk with the flashlight. I've thought this myself after seeing it, but then tested it and it didn't work.
-
Yes blindness will nullify maps.
Also it's Third Seal. At least for English versions of the game, may be different in another language. And yes, this perk is very underrated. You get 4 stacks, you can slug to win the game. It also hard counters OOO which is the most broken survivor perk. Sadly with it being a totem it's super high risk to use it.
-
LOL "no"
I get blinded when breaking a pallet as Spirit and there is nothing I can do about it. Tell me how I'm wrong.
-
Spirit player here. She can definitely be blinded while breaking a pallet. And no you can't just look up to avoid it. That only works if the guy messes up.

Having a tragic life which drives someone to things like addiction doesn't make them a bad person, and I'm not sure how you could justify such an idea. They might go on to steal or kill or do bad things, but being subjected to tragic circumstances and succumbing to weakness in itself is not an evil act.
And if by sensitivity you mean empathy for people who are actually struggling with situations like the above, then there's no such thing as too much of that, so no, I won't stop caring about other people.
As for how people respond to the character in terms of their perception of addicts in general, I already acknowledged that that depends on how the character is portrayed and may not be an issue. But that still doesn't change the problem with trivialising what you yourself have acknowledged as being a widespread and dangerous struggle for many real people.
Being addicted to drugs doesn't make them a bad person. Doing ######### that is wreckless and selfish and harms others just to get their fix is what makes them a bad person. I've dealt with several drug addicts in my life, at some point you have to say enough is enough, and it's on them to change. I don't care how tragic their life was/is, or what excuse they use to justify their actions (that's called enabling), if they knowingly hurting people then they are a bad person.
Sympathizing for these people will only get you hurt in the long run. Do what you can but don't expect to be Mr. Miracle and fix this person. At the end of the day, they have to fix themselves and being too close to them is dangerous.
But live in a fantasy world if you want. Just don't be surprised when the person you thought was your friend that you were "just trying to help" stabs you in the back.

Never said they were harmless or good people necessarily, but that's very far from premeditatively homocidal. Most of the killers' backstories are very much edge cases. Drug addiction is so common and so tragic, I don't think it would sit right with most people to make it into a game.
"premeditatively homocidal"
Come over to NJ and walk around Newark or Jersey City for a bit. When a dude jumps you with a knife or gun, he's doing it to get money for drugs.
That's not even counting the fact that a large chunk of drug addicts in cities like these are gang members. Again, watch Drugs Inc. It will open your eyes.
Also stop with this sensitivity BS. Everyone's too sensitive about everything these days. God forbid a person with a tragic life story that involves being addicted to drugs is portrayed as a bad person.
Also also, if someone were to see this character and then generalize all drug addicts as serial killers, I'd say that's the fault of the viewer for not understanding context, not the person who made the character.

Exactly the obsession should still be effected by the perk otherwise they just rush everything I am playing at rank 1 and all my games have the obsession rushing gens knowing I cant kill them I hook them twice but that's all I can really do.
New Dying Light seems to be a pretty strong perk so it should have counter play. This would be the smart move by the obsession, to just rush gens and/or force the killer to kill them.
Though I will agree the altruism bonus is a bit much if the penalties don't affect the obsession anyway.

I think this would be super loaded and rather insensitive if they were to implement such a thing. If I understand what you're proposing correctly, I'm against it for two main reasons: drug addiction is a real problem that so many real people struggle with, and using it as the driving force behind the actions of a video game killer could be seen as trivialising the issue. Secondly, it would imply that drug addicts are dangerous and homocidal, which is offensive at best and downright damaging at worst.
Dude have you ever seen someone high on crack or PCP or meth? They are indeed dangerous people. Watch Drugs Inc, particularly the PCP episode if you think drug addicts are harmless people.
Heroin is a serious issue in my home state of NJ. People will shoot up, drive a car, and crash, killing people. Not to mention heroin addicts will lie and steal from anyone, even their own family, to get high. You can't trust them at all. I had a friend that got addicted to heroin and he became very scary to be around. Might not be serial killers, but they will do stupid ######### and get people killed or hurt no doubt. If you hang around a drug addict, it's really only a matter of time before something bad happens to you because of them.
If someone's an addict, that sucks and they should get help, but that does not mean they are a good person. In fact it's way more likely to be the opposite. Speaking from experience with these people, I have never met a harmless drug addict.
-
No. Devs said this was done on purpose to make placing portals a tactical decision by the killer and destroying them a tactical decision by survivors. You need to plan ahead as killer, you can't just put them anywhere you want.
That said, if one of his purple/pink add-ons gave the ability to recycle portals that would be fine.

like @thesuicidefox said, Trapper starts with 1 trap in hand and 5 traps scattered around the map.
you can increase your amount of traps by using certain add ons (they stack btw):
- Trapper Sack: increases the amount of traps by 1 and allows you to start with 1 additional trap, aswell as carrying one extra.
- Trapper Bag: increases the amount of traps by 1 and allows you to start with 1 additional trap, aswell as carryig 2 extra.
- Stiched Bag: increases the amount of traps by 2 and allows you to start with 2 additional traps, aswell as carrying 2 extra.
so you have a minimum of 6 traps and a maximum of 9 traps, depending on the add ons of your choice.
You sure the add-ons increase overall trap count and don't just add the traps to your inventory? Seems like it might be a bit OP if the Trapper could have like 5 extra traps on the map.

Oh yea, some loops it's easy to lose bloodlust. Those are the ones you really need to avoid, or at the very least force the survivor to run the loop the "wrong" way. However on a good chunk of these types of loops there is usually a way to get you can line up a hatchet throw to either get a hit or at least make them not hug the loop so you can catch up. Most loops you can beat with hatchets though.

Really they should be yellow or pink auras, just to make them easier to see.
