DS and NOED are part of the game and most likely here to stay however with that being said they may need to be adjusted/tweaked. I will leave that up to the devsExplain to me how being "part of the game" makes it acceptable? Infinites were once part of the game. Instant-fix BNP was once part of the game. Tinkerer 2 bug was part of the game (until today). SWF is part of the game. Stacking purple mist is part of the game.
Just because it's "part of the game" doesn't automatically make it okay.

I tried for an hour. Still not working. Been like this for past 3 days.

Survivors have every right to last second switch. 2) You’re not entitled to a single thing, or deserve any rights regarding being the host of a lobby, killer is just host for ease on the matchmaking.LOL "survivors have rights but you don't" GTFO please. I have every right to not want to play with someone for any reason, hence why it let's me see your character&item/profile in the lobby. Survivors aren't entitled to force me to play a match I don't want to.
Stop defending it. It's a cowards trick done by people that want a killer they can bully. No rights or entitlement there, just cheesey players that don't have the balls to play fair.

I haven't been able to play for the last 3 days on Xbox.

Require the person to be on the Gen for at least 5 seconds before getting off or a forced skill check will come uoBut that just screws over people that legit get on a gen for a moment and bail. It also punishes you for gen tapping just to keep the gen from regressing. I do that all the time if I see the killer kick a gen that has a lot of progress but I can't stay to finish it. Tap the gen, do something else, come back to gen at it's still where you left it. Dunno if there is a different term for that than tapping, it's not the same as exploiting the animation to avoid Ruin though. Doing that is completely fair gameplay IMO, but doing it over and over isn't.

Bunch of stuff that's not worth the shards. Really no perks are worth shards except maybe BBQ.

I agree with him. Get rid of them all. All three are crutches except for Insidious, however it just promotes cheesy camping.Yea Insidious isn't a crutch as much as it is just a trolly perk. I've never seen someone use it that wasn't trying to do basement LF tactics or facecamping to prevent BT. Not sure how to rework it to make it more tactical, Tinkerer kinda already has it beat in terms of tactical usefulness.
-
After her rework I would say she is very powerful. I play her too and it's kinda silly how easy you can counter loops and "camp" from anywhere on the map without much effort. That said, she needed the buffs because her trap set time was just god awful before. I think the range at which a trap is triggered and the amount it pulls your camera should be reduced some. That would make her a lot more fair.

First off he is not a killer main he plays both killer and survivor in rotation. He is 50/50. He does not main one side. He even said this many of times. I'm a survivor main. I use NOED on all my killers if I have it, because i'm bad as a killer. I'm 95% survivor and about 5% killer. I only play killer for daily's or for the events to farm. That one I wasn't expecting. "Let's dismiss his argument because he isn't a killer main." I'll still take a shot.
At least you can admit that you are a bad killer, I can respect that. But here's a thought... maybe you would get BETTER as killer if you didn't use NOED? When you become complacent with the game doing the work for you don't get better. I encourage you to try playing without NOED for a while. You might get bodied, but you would definitely get better at the game.
It's the same argument I make to Gears 4 players that insist core tuning takes skill. Sad fact is when Gnasher can 2 shot you from across snipe on Gridlock that's the game doing the work for you. Anyone with half decent aim will get kills using core Gnasher. Competitive Gnasher though takes a lot of skill, because you need to outplay someone's position and move up on them, then outplay them AGAIN in a situation where you have an equal chance to die in 1 shot (as they will also be using a Gnasher in that situation). When I can just "pop pop" safely from behind a wall there is no outplay, especially if I know what I'm doing. You are just pushing into a losing fight, and defensive tactics become the meta. Hence why core is full of lock down strats that have no counters, because when you get 5 people that understand the game they can abuse these cheesey tactics.

i think both ds and noed are vastly overrated and situational at best. an inability to counter either means thou art bad.You say this, but then how many survivors escape when they shouldn't have because of DS? How many killers get kills they shouldn't have with NOED? A lot, being able to counter them doesn't mean they still aren't crutches for bad players.
-
It totally should be. Otherwise these will just sit in your inventory indefinitely.
TBH I would rather they didn't even have offerings for events. Just have 3 gens/hooks spawn every game and that's all you need. Event offerings are a waste of BP IMO.
-
I agree that tapping shouldn't be a thing. But on the other hand, I can't stand when I try to stop an action only to immediately fail a skill check that didn't even fully pop up on my screen.
If they can find a way to stop gen tapping without forcing you to fail skill checks when you stop an action I'm all for it. But I don't think you can do both at the same time.

Oh look, another fan of X youtuber making a post to try to promote their x youtuber's opinions thats been stated a thousand times. It's not just Noed & Ds that's wrong with this game. There's a lot of things wrong with this game that even if those perks were nerfed or gone, would exist. Also, stop being an attention [BAD WORD] with the "Come at me". if you're single, I will come at you
I'm quoting him because he is a popular killer main that says openly NOED is a crutch and only bad killers use it. Too many killers defend it, but then turn around and complain about DS, making them hypocrites. And again, let's just dismiss my statements because 1) a big YT'er said them too or 2) they've been said before. Doesn't make them any less true.
Also I never said there wasn't other stuff wrong with the game. That's another problem with this place, people correlate "You said X" to "you imply Y" when the two are totally exclusive. To make those jumps in logic just goes to show what side people are on when they reply to you. Stop making assumptions about what I think of the game when I never even mentioned anything about them.
-
I just chase them out. Usually I do this as survivor for 2 reasons, 1) I want some extra Evader points for escaping a chase, and 2) I want the killer to waste time on me so others have a chance to get out. Just chase them, if they get caught it's a free kill.
-
I just want a new mask for my Huntress. I missed out on the Lunar mask because the game was just flat out unplayable during the event on Xbox (crashed literally 1 outta 3 games). Bear mask is cool but I don't wanna spend money plus you can see her face and it looks really odd. Kitty mask is kinda dumb IMO, she's supposed to be scary not a cute anime character.
Obviously I'd like a Fox mask, but I'd also like more variations to her normal mask. Different colors, different eyes, something.
-
TBH I'm cool with all that as long as the game doesn't crash constantly. Lunar event was just completely unplayable.
-
I disagree slightly. It definitely helps but some spots like Storehouse can still be looped.
Personally I would like if Huntress movement speed went up to 115% when she runs out of hatchets.
-
No. It's bad enough to deal with Urban Evasion as Huntress when it's a meta perk, it'd be impossible to find people without Whispers if they knew I was Huntress before the game.
Every killer has a few survivor perks that hard counter them. UE for Hag/Huntress. SC plus medkit with sutures to counter Freddy. Premonition/Spine Chill/any killer aura reading for Wraith and Pig. Calm Spirit against Doc. Iron Will + Lightweight against a Nurse. Sabo against Trapper. It would be ridiculous if survivors could counter the killer like that. Last minute switching is bad enough, we don't need to add something worse to the game.
-
NC is one of the best killer perks in the game. You don't need to combo it with anything for it to be useful.
-
Anything red (300+) for more than 15 seconds I will leave for another game. Yellow ping is usually playable but can be annoying.
One time got into a lobby and the killer had like 1200ms ping LOL. Nope, not gonna play that one.

IIRC this was from a long LONG time ago before Nurse came out. In game dev, sometimes these assets don't get removed the the build and are just unused lines of code. You see it all the time when someone glitches out of the map and finds an area that was intended to be in the game but was cut. Destiny had a LOT of cut content that was discovered by players, it wasn't removed because doing so takes time/money which is better spent on stuff that will make it into the game. It's faster/cheaper to just hide those assets than remove them.Pretty sure all of the zones people discovered in Destiny was content saved for DLC's. Hence the hate towards Bungie and Activision because people believed the content should have been part of the maingame to begin with since it was there but "hidden" behind a paywall.
Not quite. They were planned to be in the game, then pushed back as DLC (which people complained about), then some stuff was just flat out cut from the game. My point is that every game has content that wasn't meant to be there but it was left because it's cheaper to just hide it in the game than it is to remove it (as removing it could cause instability/crashes more than just putting a wall in front of it you can't pass).
-
The best counter to camping would be to make it less rewarding for the killer. You should get more emblem points for getting 1 hook on everyone than getting 3 hooks on the same person. Maybe even make BBQ's BP bonus a base part of the game to encourage killers to go find other targets. Right now the game just simply rewards you too much for camping/tunneling one guy to death before going after anyone else. Mechanically I don't think things should change because as people pointed out, survivors will just abuse it. Therefore the only reasonable solution is to adjust the rewards. IMO a killer than 2 hooks everyone but doesn't get a kill is a better killer than one that gets a kill by just camping. They should be rewarded more because it takes a lot more skill to do the former over the latter.

It's because you can get totally ######### by Benevolence if the killer camps or the guy you save is just an idiot. I've had games where I should have clearly pipped but since the guy went down within 10 seconds I didn't because I lost all my Benevolence as the guy just ran right to the killer or some nonsense.
To double pip as killer you just need to kill at least 2 before the last gen is done. To double pip as survivor you almost literally have to do everything; 3 gens, 3-4 saves, escape 3 chases without getting hit, and escape the trial without going down.
-
Red Paint Brush is quite powerful, it should have a minor drawback but the reduced movement speed isn't it. What it should do is increase your lullaby range to 30m which is more reasonable than making him move slower and makes more sense since it is reducing his TR in dream world.
Class Photo should only add +1 second to transition not 2. You are basically forced to use a Z block if you run CP, unless you do all game slow perks like Ruin + Thanatophobia + Remember Me. CP is quite powerful though, probably his most powerful add-on, so it definitely needs some minor drawback to it's use.
-
It should be a baby Kindred effect, only showing the auras of survivors within like 16m of a hook. Making full Kindred a default ability is way WAY too powerful. This coming from a survivor main.
-
As a perk sounds cool.
As a default ability LOL just no.

I personally turn off aim assist in all my games when it's an option. I ######### hate it, it messes with your aim more than it helps if you actually have good aim. Halo 5 drove me nuts when I would be trying to hit someone at a distance and someone else walks in front of you AND YOUR ######### CROSSHAIR MOVES ON ITS OWN!!! It's infuriating, I don't need aim assist I've been playing shooters with a controller for 20 years.
I play Huntress and I can usually aim just fine. What messes me up is the frame rate drops on some maps when you throw a hatchet. It is tougher to land those very tight shots just over a wall or through some gap but that comes down more to the left handed throw and the awkward trajectory rather than my aim. Hatchets don't feel like they consistently go to the same place every time. I swear I can make the same throw 5 times and each time it will hit a different spot.
You want a tip, aim with left stick. It's a lot easier to strafe into a shot than move your camera and is a lot more consistent. You just need to practice > http://xboxclips.com/thesuicidefox/45b2fd02-acf1-4b33-a3ee-9a9469e76cab
Also, full m/kb support is coming to Xbox supposedly by the end of the year (though they said that last year too). IDK about PS4 though. When it does I'm probably going to switch to a mouse but keep the controller for analog movement. WASD is absolute trash for movement, you have no control over your speed and you can't move smoothly in certain directions. All you PC elitist will tell me I'm wrong, but here's a point: Go play Gears of War 4 on Xbox then on PC. You will notice that while your aim improves with a mouse, your movement goes to ######### and that game is all about movement. I can easily outplay someone on a PC in a Gnasher fight because I don't have to look at a wall to take cover, I can circle strafe, I can change my speed in any direction, and I can move at angles other than 90 or 45 degrees. You can immediately tell someone is on PC in that game because they will use Lancer and snipe weapons all the time, but when they have to start banging out in CQC they are forced to look at a wall before taking cover because they have to be moving towards the wall they want to use, and the only reliable way to do that with WASD is to hold W and look at the wall. Makes it super easy to dodge their shots.

Dont get it twisted, you’re not some host because that’s what killers should be, you’re only so because it works, and it’s cheap for servers. Anything involving manipulation of lobbies is your privilege, not your rightCall it what you want but switching last second is a cheap tactic done by people that just want to bully the killer. If the killer doesn't want to play with you they have every RIGHT not to, it's their lobby not yours. There are plenty of killers that will be fine with full bloody SWF w/ flashlights, but those are the killers these survivors purposely try to avoid by last second switching. It removes any sort of counter-pick on the killer's side, putting the survivor at a serious advantage they wouldn't have otherwise, hence why it's a cheap tactic and done by people that are too scared to play fair.

Ok man, what about my solution said Killer only solution?
The fact that the killer gets an instant mori. SMH How do you not see that as being completely overpowered?
An insta-mori, if you are naive enough to walk up to the Killer standing at the Hatch. This is what is supposed to make the Survivor want to go do a gen. Right now they have no reason to not stroll up to the Killer and stand there waiting.
So I countered the insta-mori with the gens not being able to be regressed, so you can get bits done here and there , and if the Killer is off shooing you off the gens, guess what, THE HATCH IS UNPROTECTED, go get it.
I never said the Killer gets to close it.
So its powerful, but only if you are so ignorant as to walk up in front of him.
The range is completely arbitrary. How would I know I'm close enough to get instant mori'ed? By the sound? Yea, because sounds are such a reliable way to measure distance in this game.
Dude it's a stupid idea. Completely OP in favor of the killer. Not regressing gens does not make up for the fact you can be instantly killed.

Thanatophobia is fine the way it is. It just needs number tweaks so that each injured survivor applies a linear debuff. Currently you need to injure 3 to equal twice the debuff of injuring 1.
Third Seal should be a timer, or maybe based on being injured. It's worthless as a hex.

While I do agree Wake Up needs some buffs, I don't think this is it. The 15% speed buff is literally 3 seconds (unless the killer has 6 stacks of Remember Me in which case it's 7.5 seconds). I think it's just needs a buff to numbers, maybe having a thing where it reveals your aura when within X range of an exit gate and not just opening it.

All I'm gonna say is that you should play killer until you get the same rank as your survivor at least. Then go back and look at what you are asking for.

The invincibility in combination with the hit registration and SB will be the like the old BT.I don't have any problems as survivor. Maybe explain your problems.
But remember, killers have been nerfed hard for 2 years. Survivors received now a minor nerf, and suddenly survivor is unplayable.I play both and on rank 1. If that matters to you.
No it won't stop talking out your ass. The survivor has a chance to do something after being unhooked. If you are right there you can still easily hit them when they start moving, there aren't that many paths available to get away from a hook like that.
Problems with survivors: drop pallet and get a stun but still get hit, slow vaulting when it should be 100% fast vaults, being locked to the unhook animation making it impossible to stop and avoid a hit if the killer comes, just to name a few. Survivors do indeed have problems, most of them bugs from weird animations.
Also I am rank 1 for both too. If you don't see problems with survivor then you are just blind. You people act like the devs should just never do anything positive for survivors. Or you act like any little thing they do to make survivors better is automatically a huge killer nerf that will totally ruin killer. No, you are making a mountain out of a molehill. Polishing up a few animations won't suddenly make killer unplayable.
-
@Hillbilly420 said:
Just to add onto this: if they go ahead with this change then basement parties are #########. All it takes is one guy to Kobe, you're not allowed to hit them, and they can free the rest of the hooked Survivors.LOL no. They aren't talking about giving survivors seconds of invincibility. They are talking about giving them invincibility UNTIL THEY HAVE CONTROL OF THEIR CHARACTER. That means you can't hit them until they can act. Literally only applies the unhook/kobe animation itself, as currently you can hit them during that animation (when they have no control) and it counts. Now they have a MOMENT to dodge a hit. If you are standing right there and just wait for the animation to finish you will be able to hit them down. Just wait until you see them move after the animation is finished SMH.
@KillingInstinct said:
imo survivors don't deserve any buffs for a few patches since they review bombed the game and killers still aren't the power role. Except at rank 21. Killers are always power role thereThey aren't buffs as much as they are bug fixes and QoL changes. Pallet drops are borked right now because sometimes it does the long animation which means you get hit. You guys act like there are no issues playing survivor when there definitely are. I can tell who are the killer mains here. You basically want them to just totally ignore any problems survivors have and only focus on killers because that's all that is important to you.
This place gives me cancer.

This is great advice... until it's not.If you know the Hag is clear across the map, or better yet carrying someone, you should be running around and hitting all the traps because she wouldn't be able to teleport. That's one of the most effective tactics to beat her, because without traps she is trash tier.
Not enough people realize this and insist on crouch walking everywhere all the time. Sure if she's able to teleport it's smart, but when she can't you should be running around to waste her traps.
I do this all the time, especially when I'm not the make your choice person and laugh when she drops the hooked persona dn tries to instadown me and fails. The other nice things is she then if she doesn't tp to me is she has to reset all those traps.
One thing that's annoying on pc is the persons sees the trap and still runs right over it when you crouched to save them. If you really want to be unhooked safely then hold your couch key when you get unhooked and sneak off. You won't trigger the trap if you both do this.
The only issue i've got with Hag traps since long before her rework is the trigger radius is stupidly huge. It's 5 character models I believe and unlike Trappe she can set it right in front of the hook. In fact the Trappers traps have to be stepped on and to disarm it it's 1 character model away.
If the Trappers traps worked like the Hags you'd be within 5 character models and trigger it without actually ever stepping on it. But right now it's 1 character model or so for the traps and Hag's should be the same. Now since the Hag Phantasms have collision as well they should change her traps to be same as Trappers.
Yea I would be okay if the reduced the range where traps trigger. It can be really annoying sometimes to know a trap is somewhere but trip it anyway because the range is so far. Hag is one of the killers I actually use and I'd be okay with this considering how fast I can lay them down. It encourages more careful trap placement.

So if two people finish a gen at the same time, it's chosen at random and the other is locked. That would create nothing but frustration and only add to the clunkiness of the gameplay. As for the gas can, perhaps you find a gas can before working on the gen to prevent that? There's the main difference between locking gens and secondary objectives. Secondary objectives slow down games in a way that the survivor still feels like they're making progress. Before you start a gen, find a can of gas. If you start working on a gen without one then you have no one to blame but yourself when that roadblock hits. And it could be made where you couldn't even start working on a gen until you find gas to prevent the confusion. With gen locking, it just brings your progress to an abrupt stop. It doesn't really feel like pacing as much as it is sudden jarring stops. Secondary objectives like finding gas would flow way better. As for how it affects the endgame, in the case of secondary objectives, the survivors have the choice to plan ahead. How about instead of just finding one can of gas and fixing one gen, you find multiple cans and fill up multiple gens to make the end game smoother? The survivors still have some control. The situation you stated, where the survivor is struggling to finish the gen but runs out of gas, that scenario is all his fault. If he thought ahead and found a can of gas before working on that gen, he wouldn't have been in that situation. It would suck, but it would be something he could improve from. Not to mention all the new ideas this could create for improving perks or items. Pair that with a tutorial to teach new players just coming into the game, and the game will be in a much better place.Again the idea needs testing and polish. Maybe there is some method to selecting which gens have priority. But to say that you need X amount of gas to finish a gen only serves to make the game less accessible, period. There is no other way to slice it, add more stuff to do and you make the game harder to learn. It's basic logic. Being forced to go find gas or do something else can be frustrating, just look at games where Ruin is too well hidden and doesn't go down until there are like 2 survivors left. That can be immensely frustrating for survivors (which I know if it goes down fast that's frustrating for killers, but that's a separate issue) because you have this other thing you need to do on top of the normal objective. Gens should be the only objective, there just needs to be limits on how fast you can do them.
I really need to know why you are defending secondary objectives so hard when the outcome will obviously have an effect on the entire game. We don't want that or need that. We only want something that affects the highest tier players because that's the only place where gen rush is a problem. Why do we need to make survivors do other stuff when the game just needs something to stop the most optimized survivors from rushing their objective? Why do we need to over-complicate the game with new mechanics and core fundamentals when it just needs something to balance out on the upper end of the spectrum?
@Peanits said:
Sure, if it's a game of only new players. But I could get paired with someone playing the game for the first time and work on a different generator than them. When mine goes off, they're going to be really confused as to why they suddenly got kicked off the generator and can't fix it anymore. They would arguably be just as confused, if not more so, by having to do something other than their primary objective. If you are in a party with this person you can simply explain it to them. And again, they see a gen pop and a lock icon, that is a very clear indication that you can't do the gen because another was just completed. If necessary you can even add a timer/clock to the UI to show when it can be done.
Like really any argument you make against a gen completion limiter can be made against secondary objectives and apply even moreso because of the fact that it's just more to do. If you have 1 thing to do but are locked out from doing it, maybe it's confusing but not overwhelming. If you have several things to do it's overwhelming AND confusing, as well as tedious. It just leads to more issue down the road.
Really guys take a step back and think about what would happen if you had to do secondary objectives. Think about how much work it would take to make the system, integrate it smoothly with the current design, adjust perks/etc. to work with it, how new, solo, and SWF players will be affected. It's not a good solution when you actually go through all the motions, and it's not necessary for every game. We only need something for the top end players, not everyone.
