its laughable that you find your response a be-all-end-all solution to my growing frustration with Hag. Crouch-walking is the default hard-counter to her gameplay.
everything you listed? sure, thats counterplay. But the success of that counterplay is wholy dependent on the killer's response to my actions and my teammates' indepentent actions. If I don't spawn closest to Hag, or find her before my teammates, I have neither the ability to see where she places her first few traps nor the freedom to dictate who she chases. Assuming I shadow the chase of my teammate, to trip her traps when she is locked in animations, we as a team are devoting 2 survivors to one chase.
Even if i'm lucky enough to have teammates who sit on gens instead of chests and bones, the inefficiency there is devastating--especially if she is running ruin/undying. As soon as she catches that first survivor, the game is over. Because as you have acknowledged, her built-in proxy camping is her biggest problem. The only counter to traps around the hook is swarming the hook (not viable in solos), and crouching up to unhook (praying your teammates crouches away from the hook--which they almost never).
A good hag will survey the area around the hook, and will most likely find you and chase you away from the hook. If not, have fun crouch-walking up to the unhook. snooze.
I find it more laughable that you acknowledged the problem is more of the skill of the Hag compared to the skill of you and your teammates as opposed to Hag actually being problematic. Yikes.

If you're chasing and patrolling, you pick them up as you go no issue. If your whole thing is beginning of the game getting as many traps down as possible, then yes, you're going to have a bad time. Tying them to lockers means you're going to be spending that time you'd otherwise spend grabbing them around the map (during patrols and chases) and wasting just as much time.
I disagree. Traps for often will spawn out of the way of where you’d be chasing and patrolling, so you will either have to abandon the chase for a trap or ignore the trap. Lockers, however, are located in enougj different places for this to be a complete non-issue, as they are pretty much everywhere, with many being in tiles you would chase in.
-
I completely agree that Deathslinger is unfun to play against, but he is on the weaker side, and a nerf would be unfair. A rework would be nice though.
Giving Hashslinging Slasher a Huntress-like Lullaby and allowing him to periodically shoot survivors through walls when they are within it would be a nice way to give him additional map pressure.

As someone who plays Trapper, I say no.
Trapper's issue isn't the collection of the traps, it's the lack of carrying capacity and set time. If Trapper could carry 2, start with 1 and the setting time was reduced, he'd be where he needs to be. It's the inability to collect as he goes and the time wasted from setting/resetting traps that makes him so difficult to use.
As a fellow Trapper player, I’ll disagree with you here. Having to go around and pick up your power is absolutely the biggest issue with Trapper, as it’s the one that uses the most amount of time. Traps are spread out across the entire map. On maps like Ormond, it’s basically GG if you want to use more than 3 traps, and even on smaller maps like The Game, it’s still a painful usage of time to walk around and pick your power up off the ground and walk to put it somewhere else. This problem is only intensified by what you mentioned though, the small carrying/starting cap at base. If Trapper was able to grab his carrying cap out of lockers as well as start with 2 and carry 2 at base, he’d be excellent.

Hag needs a nerf. Whether its the detection range of her traps, or the time it takes her to teleport, something needs to be changed.
As is, top tier Hag killers spam their teleport button all match, waiting to instantly M1 someone they dont even see. The counterplay to this is to crouch around the map. Given the scale of the map, this is a dull and tedious style of play.
The fact is, without Dead Hard, you cannot dodge a Hag who is spamming their teleport button and pressing M1 the moment they teleport. It is not viable to crouch mid-chase, and it is not viable to crouch around the entire map.
It seems the community collectively understands how boring Hag is to play as and against, and therefore she is not picked often enough to cause large outrage from the community. As a result, it is unwise for survivors to constantly bring Urban Evasion in the off-chance that they run into a Hag.
Personally, I think allowing survivors to walk past traps without setting them off is a reasonable enough change. You could even throw in a caveat there that walking deliberately on a trap, even if you are crouching, would set it off.
git gud
Actually, because your posts show you legitimately do not know how to play against Hag. Learn where Hags typically place their traps, disrupt the traps when Hag cannot use them, bait teleports. These are the fundamental skills you need to go against good Hags. You don’t even need Dead Hard or Urban Evasion either, as I don’t use either perk and I’m fine going against Hags. Do I get outplayed sometimes? Yes. Is there counterplay to the “issues” you mentioned? Absolutely. Learn it.
Hag’s only legitimate problem is her built-in proxy camping. She’s fine in every other regard though. You can maybe make a case for the forced camera turning though, as that could be reduced by a bit.

Wait... are you playing on console?
Or am I missing something because pallet dropping and vaulting use different input on PC.
It’s a console thing then. The default has both chase interactions and other interactions mapped to R1/RB by default, but it is possible to change this. I, for instance have my healings, repairs, cleansing, etc mapped to triangle.

See I’d actually argue the kobe is unfair and unbalanced when it works. It’s literally a self-unhook no perk slot required lol
It's... high-risk high-reward. That's the point. Take a chance to turn the game around.

Here we go. Digging up posts and twisting the narrative.
I did not say Ghostface was the most OP killer in the game. I did not even say he was OP. The thread was something like “which killers do you hate the most” and I gave an answer and a reason. Old Freddy wasn’t OP in the slightest but there was a number of things that made people hate playing against him.
Secondly I don’t facecamp on first hook but the amount of times a game has dragged on a few more minutes, a survivor got a free escape, or in some cases they actually managed to mount a little bit of a comeback from a kobe is getting insane. Might as well confirm the kill in some situations if time permits it.
lol you got outplayed by the 4%
I did exaggerate a little to be fair, but you've always talked about how Ghostie is too oppressive. He's a mid-tier killer who has to to chase normally with no map pressure and his gimmick is pretty much negated by Spine Chill lol.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
First of all this is not 4%. It's far too common for that. It's basically every other game now, in some games multiple survivors are doing it - no luck offerings or perks btw.
Secondly it's probably the worst of all second chances. Why? because it's free. Doesn't even take a perk slot, it's just the game slapping you in the face.
It's getting to the point where I'm having to face camp survivors just to make sure they don't jump off. If they can find hatch it's basically a free escape.
Ghost Face and 4%-ing are the most OP things in the game, apparently.
Imagine face camping someone one their first hook because they have a 4% chance to escape.
-
I won't explain why Plague is scary, it's definitely more Blight and Hag, but being chased by Plague makes me feel... kind of sad.
She's someone who actually wanted to help people. She was more altruistic that all the survivors and she was still twisted by the Entity. It's pretty sad.

When no one asked for that #########? Pyramid Heads are rare enough before they change him and now these players will again be more rare...like BHVR just giving a middle finger to those players because "we want to make the game fun and easy for survivors"! Yeah sure, BHVR could remove all strong killers and every survivors will be happy
Pyramid Head is fairly frequent in my experience.

I like the idea of wraith's tr being audible near a hook but 24m is absurd. Also think about Midwich and the game...wouldn't really matter because those maps are BS in all fairness but still.
I was thinking maybe 15-20 meters initially, but Wraith can move pretty fast while cloaked, so 24 seems like just enough to not let him get there and immediately down the hooked person, but I guess it can be reduced to 15.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
Looks like one of those situations I read about recently. What did they call it? Something like “lose/lose”. Doesn’t look like there is much counterplay there either.
Anyway cool discussion but can we get back to more important business? Like nerfing killers that create lose/lose situations and have no counterplay?
Are you talking about Pyramid Head or? Because he was already changed.

There really isn't that much difference, if I expect the slinger player to be bad due to cosmetics, movement, other actions in game etc I will dodge more obvious shots. If I think he is good I will change it up and dodge in some areas but not in others.
That is exactly how TL walls go, if you think the killer is bad, he wont double back. If you think he's good, you bait. If you think he is very good, he will double bait so you need to vault. You only have 2 options remember, vaulting the window or not.
Plus not justifying slinger with this but nurse and huntress also boil down to guesses especially at high tier play.
I don't agree, especially with the Nurse and Huntress sentiments, mainly because the difference between the two is that there is a clear tell for when they'll use their power. They both have a bit of wind up that just doesn't exist with Deathslinger. He can just spam ADS until he has a clear shot or closes distance.
-
Easy, just a few, simple changes.
- Windstorm - Mud added to base kit.
- Swift Hunt - Mud added to base kit.
- Shadow Dance - White added to base kit.
- Wraith is completely invisible in cloaked mode from further than 20 meters
- Cloaked stuns reduced by 50%
- Wraith's Terror Radius is audible when within 24 meters of a hooked survivor
These changes now better Wraith by:
- giving him increased map pressure
- giving him increased surprise attack capabilities
- giving him increased utility in cloaked form
- reduces the penalty of being stunned while cloaked
- and prevents/deters camping

Guess based on how good you think the other player is. Just like a 50/50 mindgame at a TL.
I think there's a pretty clear difference between guessing how another player will use a loop and guessing if and how a killer will use their power. Guessing should not be the entirety of interaction between survivors and a killer's power.

Yes you can, if you think he is going to shoot at a corner you can dodge making it a 50/50. Many situations can be made a 50/50 against him.
Unless you're vaulting a window like a dummy, or going down a narrow corridor, he isn't a guaranteed down. He still has to shoot at a fixed point.
So, you're making a 50/50 guess?
-
They're not, actually. The new Yamaoka maps are actually brighter than a lot of the maps currently, with quite a few open spaces, especially on Family Residence, and contain a lot less foliage.

i'm no good survivor and can't run killers to save my life. but I've been evading high rank PHs without problem. And the 'drop pallets early' is a tactic from which streamer again? If you can use your eyes, you can walk around deathslinger easily. The palletdropping is actually a disadvantage against him. THAT gives him a free shot.
I said drop pallets early against Deathslinger.

- Deathslinger - I wouldn't mind his free zoning as much if I at least had some indication he was in my general vicinity before he's basically sniffing my hair.
- Spirit - It's time to play Guess that Phase! Is she behind me, or is she to my right? She's standing still! Isn't Stridor such an original perk on Spirit?

Oh god, you still think Ghostie is OP lol?

Thrilling Tremors
Save the Best for Last
Pop Goes The Weasel
Devour lul
My personal favorite build on him. Slowing down survivors and recovering faster with Save guarantees shorter chases. Thrilling will let you know where to teleport. Pop because Pop. Devour will be fairly easy to obtain by having teleportation and you can defend it easier with your Snares. Snares are better than Dream Pallets. Don't use the pallets.
-
Yikes, this is a post...
Pyramid Head and Deathslinger both zoned survivors for free, with no consequences. if old Pyramid Head was within Punishment range, you would get hit if they had line of sight, because either you drop the pallet and get hit by Punish, or don't, and get hit regularly. Deathslinger just forced survivors to drop all pallets super early and hope the loop is good enough. You can guess where he'll shoot, but can't outplay him, just get lucky, drop pallets and run to the next safe loop, not to mention his nonexistent TR that gives little warning when you'll get shot. This is a ranged killer, BTW. With no warning. At least Huntress has a lullaby.
No one is complaining about killers who don't chase in the traditional way. Nurse is excellent and players love Huntress, Blight, Oni, etc. Old PH and Hashslinging Slasher are just understandably unfun to play against, and since the Pyramid Head change, we're moving in the right direction since survivors actually have options.
So yikes.
-
Or... just remove the Shrine lol.
This system is garbage and encourages people to pay for perks instead that give you an advantage (e.g. DS not showing up for like 5+ months.
Just allow players to buy perks and increase the Iridescent Shard cost to like 3500. Infinitely better system.
-
It's INSANE how you guys have been brainwashed into thinking that a garbage system like the Shrine is acceptable and excludes DBD from being in the category of games in which you pay for an advantage.
As someone who ACTUALLY BOUGHT EVERY DLC, I agree, DBD does have this issue. You should not have to wait MONTHS for a CHANCE at getting a perk in the Shrine. It's scummy, regardless if the DLC is cheap or not. It's a system that actively begs you to buy the DLC.
I don't like this community sometimes lol.

The problem is their changes did very little to slow gen times noticeably. Overwatch bans certain heroes at certain ranks to make the game more balanced, DBD could follow suit and bring back old ruin for rank 5 and over games.
Gen times have definitely been noticeably slowed.

Every game there's at least one survivor running one of these perks and most of the times all of them in a combo.Even when a survivor perk is nerfed,it barely makes a difference like ds,the nerf barely made a difference, its still the best survivor perk.Compared to when a killer gets nerfed like we saw recently with Billy and Leatherface.Addons completely gutted and Billy rework made him both unfun and weak. The worst part is killer addons, creating useless addons just so killers wil have something to spend their bloodpoints on,what's the point of making useless addons and sometimes even detrimental ones? Many killer ultra addon are so bad even if they we're common ones.Devs are so afraid of making a killer remotely decent lately they are all getting washed up reworks or come out that way.Until devs wont show otherwise they will remain survivor biased.
Ruin wasn't nerfed for being overused. It was changed to normalize gen times in actual games to make further changes to gen speed and generator related things overall, which is why gen time is much more consistent and toolboxes received such a massive change.
-
Or you could just make the perks stronger Hex perks instead of making them worse normal perks. :)

How is hiding the whole game fun? Interacting with the killer is by far the most exciting thing that can occur. I understand u are entitled to your own opinion, but I really suggest you pull your weight by distracting the killer instead of urban evading in the corner of the map. Trust me, you'll will enjoy dbd so much more
It's better to hide when you don't need to be seen. That's their playstyle. Unless you don't need to be seen, not everyone is gonna run up to the killer, go ClICkY CliCkY and then try and run them for as long as possible. It's literally hide-and-seek. Hide, and when found, run.
