Why are the Yamoaka maps so bad?
Theyre ugly, impossible to navigate, too cramped, too much ######### grass.
And to think you wasted time and energy giving a graphics update to maps which really just needed to be removed.
Are there any redeeming qualities of the Yamoaka maps? No.

I like new Yamaoka. It's brighter, cleaner, easier to see scratches in the new grass, no harder to navigate than any other outdoor map for anyone with half a brain, and has some great unique tiles that both vary in strength and work well with preexisting tile layouts.
I disagree. Yamoaka is an instant DC for me.
They're not, actually. The new Yamaoka maps are actually brighter than a lot of the maps currently, with quite a few open spaces, especially on Family Residence, and contain a lot less foliage.
Have you played the new Yamaoka or...?
To think someone would instantly dc because of a random map roll. If a map offering is placed then sure just do it in the loading screen. Also if you dc everytime the map is picked maybe you haven't played it enough to understand how to play it or the tile layout. There are so many ways to outplay survivors on this map with there being only around 5 jungle gyms and several unsafe tiles. Also just play the game man. Not every game is going to in your favor. If you don't know the map but also never try to learn it you are only hurting yourself.
There is no redeeming feature of Yamaoka maps before the update. Now they have a singular redeeming feature, and that is that playing survivor in an open area is really painful. They still look butt-ugly tho. AA is not helping that in the slightest. I honestly feel bad for the artists who worked on the map. I'm sure it looked nice to them (and some of the details were nice when AA was disabled), but it sure looks like vomit in-game.
Yamaoka used to be at the bottom of my master tier list of hated realms and maps, but now it's second to last and has swapped places with Ormond. Dead Dawg (ugh) Saloon is fourth from the bottom of the barrel beaten out only by how bad Badham looks and feels (at third). After that, there's a bunch of space and then the other realms start appearing.
