What's the point of the waiting lobby if you can't do anything in it?
Same argument can be made on the killer side BTW.

Most people don't, and it's actively being used to bully, and annoy other people. It serves no real benefit other than that so there is no reason for it to stay.
I imagine they will do something about this eventually because it's not just annoying it's really off putting and newer players think they are cheating; it gives new comers and people seeing gameplay for the first time a real bad impression of the game.
Generally, most the people using it to abuse others however; are going to of course defend it and want it to remain in the game.
(Not saying that's you, but that is the only purpose it serves so there is no other reason for leaving it in. A masochist might like being punched in the face, but that doesn't mean someone should be going around doing it to everyone just because you don't mind it.)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2036453#Comment_2036453
Even like 2 milliseconds would be enough; but yeah I am all for alternative solutions. I mean there are multiple ways one could approach it.
This is like the teabag argument. It's used to annoy people but on the survivor side it's used as a greeting or to be funny, which is the same with the flashlight clicking.
Also it's not fair to say "most people" as this is largely absent in most games by default. Most people haven't encountered it and probably won't ever. However, I've observed many people get a laugh out of it.
Also I don't think I need to explain why a slight annoyance can't be compared to literal assault.
-
I chuckle every time I encounter it. Would like it to stay.

Just put him back to how he was. It was fun, unique, and actually more powerful than people made it out to be. The least that needs to happen is:
- No more passive falling asleep
- No instantaneous incomplete generator teleporting
- More than one alarm clock option for survivors
- Casting penalty for puddles and fake pallets
While I would much prefer that Freddy was more unique, as he was in his olden days, it's unlikely that the devs will just change his playstyle back to what it was before.
If I were to update his old power, I'd:
- Reduce the amount of time it take for survivors to be pulled into the Dream World from 7 seconds to 5.
- Give Freddy Dream Charges (similarly to Pyramid Head's Rites of Judgement) that allow him to pull survivors into the Dream World faster.
- Allow Freddy to put survivors into a "Deep Sleep" mode by using a Plague's Vile Purge-like beam. Aiming enough Dream Charges on them in a short period will make them completely immobile for 3 seconds. This is his chasing power. Since it has such a strong effect, it will require Freddy to use all of his Dream Charges, which take ~20 seconds to recharge from 0.
- Survivors can use Alarm Clocks to wake themselves up like they currently do.
- While carrying a survivor, Freddy manifests in the real world, allowing him to hit survivors who are awake.
- Remove the 50% action speed penalty while sleeping. Reduced to 1% every 20 seconds to a max of 10%.
- Remove aura reading on sleeping survivors, add to awake survivors inside the lullaby.
- Survivors transitioning into the Dream World cannot repair generators, sabotage, heal, or cleanse totems.

Except for normal exhaustion perks it rewards you for good gameplay balenced landing rewards you for falling down and running away and having good chases, but dh you just press one button and you win the chase, be quiet and realize that you are bad

That's like saying "just don't get hit that's the counter to noed"
First, waiting is counter play, yes. You are literally baiting them to use the Dead Hard.
Second, this isn't even a valid comparison. You can literally wait for them to use the Dead Hard. That is a counter. There are different types of counter play and acting like there isn't is disingenuous. The counter to NOED is simply doing the totems.
If you want to criticize Dead Hard, apply the same logic to all of the exhaustion perks. "They messed up since I gained distance on them? Oh they can just run faster to fix it."
Dead Hard is best for extending loops just as Lithe, Sprint Burst, and Balanced Landing are best for gaining distance on the killer. Play around it and stop making forums posts about what is the least annoying exhaustion perk for those who actually have a brain.
-
Just wait for it. Sprint Burst is still better anyways. Dead Hard is not as versatile, doesn't give as much distance.
git gud

I think the issue is the fact they're short handed courtesy of Covid, another thing being that not every killer can have their power visually changed like Myers and Ghostface mainly cause they physically do nothing but stare. You can't change trappers traps because it's an immediate disadvantage.
The last thing being the amount of work that would need to go into making ability cosmetics for every character in the game, some not even able to get ability cosmetics.
I do get that some killers would look really cool with their non-changable weapons actually having some cool designs like nurses blink, Billy's chainsaw or Plagues puke being rainbows. I don't know but at the same time I'd prefer they work on more important things and you have to admit they would just recolor a handful of them instead of create cool affects with no guarantee your favorite killer will get anything.
Don't think COVID is a valid reason when they just released 4 survivor skins, a Stranger Things pack a few months ago, and a few linked and legendary skins.
Not every killer needs to have a power cosmetic, but for killers like Ghost Face, his Night Shroud vignette could be slightly altered. As for Trapper, just a change of the shaped of the trap would be fine, and they can make slight color changes. It doesn't need to be neon green, but if they want to use it there's nothing wrong with that. It's also not like BHVR makes cosmetics for every character in the game each time a new cosmetic is released. I also don't see what else the cosmetic and character design team has to work on that's more important. Charms?

You sure about that? I don't know how you're going to tell me what I faced and not faced. It's not impossible to win against a deathsquad as clown as long as you know what you are doing. I'm sorry people haven't put 1k hours into the guy like I have and some others have, but alright. I faced pretty good swf's prior to MMR, and yesterday all I got were 4 rank 1's with full loadouts all meta, and 3 gens popping even with corrupt up. Knew what they were doing, and yes they were deathsquads, because I rarely ever faced them before MMR came out.
That's being coordinated. Deathsquads are all Dead Hard/Sprint Burst/Lithe, Object, DS, Unbreakable, Borrowed, Prove Thyself, running early to every loop, gens as far as possible, never healing unless needed in the moment, running as far away from any gen currently being worked on, always split up, telling teammates when the killer is leaving, letting a teammate die to finish a last gen. Tournament-level survivors.
I severely doubt you've faced multiple different groups like this as Clown in one day, as they are extremely rare. This is like playing Clown against 4 sweating Ayruns, you're just not gonna win.

If clown is C tier then I must be some god, because I won all of my games against deathsquads using him yesterday like I always usually win with him. I lose about 1/100 games using the guy, so I have no idea. I guess nobody will truly fully understand until they put hundreds of hours into him to see how strong he actually is if done right.
You weren't facing deathsquads. It is basically impossible to win against an actual deathsqaud as Clown. There is a huge difference between "pretty good" and a deathsquad.
-
Legion above Oni and Ghostie? Twin in A-tier? Doc and Billy in B-tier? ONI IN C-TIER???
HUH?

he should get 5 bottles default. Also if you get hit direct on by a pink bottle you get double slowed, and finally you should literally be blind in the gas. Then he would be A tier and would actually be fun to play against swf
That would not be fun at all, that would make him even more freaking annoying to play against, like Spirit levels of annoying.
Do you have any idea how wide of a radius the Tonic can cover? Clown could just throw it in the middle of a loop or ahead of you and since you are forced to walk through it to continue the chase you will be unable to see anything for up to 5+ seconds, longer than a flashlight blind. Clown would go from okay and still boring to play as and against to insta-winning every single chase. Survivors need to see in order to play the game, or I presume you turn your screen off during a chase?

I maintain what I said, he can make all those maps work better than almost every other killer.
Though when I say "No bad maps" I don't mean haddonfield still isn't BS I only mean he can make the most out of maps compared to most killers. Most of the very experienced streamers and ghostface mains will tell you the same thing.
More people are less experienced and don't realize this however, or they assume that means that he is somehow a much stronger killer than he is or something like that - naw, he is just really versatile. He's still got plenty of weaknesses just maps isn't really one of them.
How exactly does a 115% killer with no mobility power "make the most" of bad maps? I play a ton of Ghostie, and I hard disagree.
-
I'm gonna be the first to say that it is impossible to give well informed feedback on a system when we don't know how it works. You guys can't just add stuff to the game without explaining how it works and why and expect good feedback. We need to know how the system works.
Also for survivor my teammates are still bad and the killer is alright, while for killer I'm destroying still.
So I'm not convinced that it's working off of actual skill yet.

Thanks, I'll give this a read. :^)

Why do people act like it’s a fact she needs massive and obvious counterplay? So she can become the next Demogorgan?
Half the things ok the survivor side, maps as well have very little counterplay and killers have to learn to live with it. Just use pallets and windows and learn to read Spirits. Its like survivors arent happy if the counterplay is anything more demanding than “press space bar to drop pallet for complete safety”.
No, people act like she needs to have some degree of reliable counter play. Guessing is not counter play and Spirit's entire power is "guess what i'll do next." Is she phasing? Is she just doing the stand still mind game? Can she hear me? When you lose to hear there's no satisfaction, because you can't play better against a Spirit, they just hear you or see you and catch up to you and you die.
Why do people act like Spirit has reliable counter play?
-
No, Exhaustion add-ons should not exist in their current state as they last longer than the actual perk while requiring minimal effort. If exhaustion add-ons ever returned, they need to have a minimal effect, such as 5-10 seconds and not 90. A survivor should be able to play around the add-on once it's in effect and the perk shouldn't be completely disabled for the next minute and a half, especially since exhaustion will have minimal recovery while in chase.
-
Where's the rest of the post? Would prefer to read the entire thing in one page, but at least link the first part.

No, I think Ghost Face is still stronger. His mechanics are a little buggy sure, but at the end of the day he has no bad maps and wraith will suffer on many maps like Haddonfield, where Ghostface can still excel.
However Wraith has strong addons, and Ghostface is reliant on his; but even still Ghostface has the ability to instant down survivors and Wraith does not, that is a huge deal in a game where after that first hit you can gain so much distance.
Meanwhile, Trapper still getting ######### all as Clown and Wraith get buffed more and more......
"no bad maps"
Blood Lodge, wide open bright field with good LOS.
All of Coldwind, can't stalk through corn.
Haddonfield, bad for everyone.
Red Forest, extremely huge, bright, and good LOS.
Half of the maps in the game are not good for Ghostie...

Firstly, let me clear out why does "trickster" doesn't work. New killer is a musician, k-pop superstar, artist and a murderer who thinks that killing is an art. Nothing about him says "tricks". The only time such thing as "tricks" was mentioned was the beginning of his bio where his youth was described. The Trickster doesn't describe his persona, power or character.
You said that he "performs knife tricks" but that's wrong. He doesn't perform knife tricks, he just throws knives. At best you can call that "trick shots", but not tricks. Knife tricks is something you do when you flex with your butterfly knife flipping skills.
The ENTIRE point of the "alias" every killer has (at least the OG killers) is to shortly describe a character or give a clue of their persona, main trait or power. I'll even elaborate and say that the "alias" represents the "trope" the killer is made of.
"Trickster's" alias doesn't represent neither of things I mentioned above multiple times. "The Superstar" or "The Artist" are much better options since they shortly describe who the killer basically is.
Secondly, I'll explain why every single other killers' alias works:
- Trapper - name describes his power
- Wraith - name gives a clue what his power does - makes him invisible
- Hillbilly - name describes his character (a hillbilly)
- Nurse - name describes a trope this character is based on (nurse killer)
- Hag - name describes one of her main traits, knowledge of magic symbols that are usually known to witches (or hags). Also, it describes her appearance, since she does look like a hag.
- Doctor - name describes a trope this character is based on (doctor killer)
- Huntress - name describes multiple things about this character - it gives a vague clue of her power and describes her character (she's a hunter)
- Clown - name describes a trope this character is based on (clown killer)
- Spirit - name once again describes a trope this character is based on (something about japanese view on ghosts and vengeful spirits that also move very unpredictably and look pretty much like rin)
- Legion - name describes main trait of characters it unites (being a part of a "Legion" that was a defining thing in their lives) the worst name of a killer so far, but there's not really anything else that could be used to describe them.
- Plague - name describes a thing that lead character to what it is now, as well as it describes a new nature of a character. She is literally a human manifestation of the Plague.
- Oni - name describes the main trait of a character (a brute ogre demon)
- Deathslinger - as you said, wordplay on a gunslinger, name pretty much explains what his power is.
- Blight - name once again describes a thing this character became a manifestation of. Talbot Grimes is basically human manifestation of the Blight corruption and this corruption is now a defining thing in his character. If you read the lore before Descent Beyond release, you could even guess that the "Blight" would be just as aggressive and volatile as blight affected critters in the notes of 2018 event.
- Twins - name once again describes the main trait of a character and gives a huge clue on their power.
Then we have "The Trickster" whose name describes a minor fact in his bio that was immediately forgotten. This name has the least connection with the killer it is supposed to represent than literally any other name of any other killer in the game. This name sucks ass and the only reason it will not be change is because it is too late.
His name is his show name and describes how he tricked/deceived everyone he knew and how he is crafty with his trick blades.
Fits to me, but sure.

I really don't care what the killer is called tbh. He can be called "the salad" and I wouldn't give a ######### as long as his power is strong and fun, which is what I think is way more important than his name.

They're saving that one for Saladfingers.

okay you're not winning against four armed teens, no matter how much you'd like to think so, unless you're a trained martial artist

plague probably wouldn't want to fight you anyways if she's herself, but you'd just die of sickness by being near her

Need I say any more? This build is used in almost every game at the higher ranks due to how simple it makes defending the generators. There's no skill or (real) counterplay to this combo. There is counterplay to BBQ, hiding in lockers, but doing that when repairing a generator just wastes precious time. That means there's more chance the killer will get to the generator before it's repaired and ruin all your hard work and effort for no effort or investment at all.
The killer just hooks a survivor (easy enough) and sees everyone's aura, and then they can go to generators being worked on and instantly get rid of 30-40 or more seconds of a generator repair progression, counting the fact it applies normal regression ON TOP OF the massive gen progress decrease. There's nothing the survivor can do about it. It doesn't even have a cool down, so if someone tries to repair the generator to make up for the unavoidable regression loss, the killer can just do it again with no penalty. It literally punishes you for playing well, and I don't know if that's healthy.
I realise this will probably be seen as a joke or bait by the people of this forum, but I'm being serious. This build is used in almost every high rank game - even the Decisive Strike + Unbreakable combo isn't used that often, yet the BBQ+Pop combo is the one ignored. It reeks of hypocrisy to me. Both combos are uncounterable without literally stopping doing your objective. Killers should face the same stigma for running these mindless combos that survivors are given, and I'm sick of this community giving them a free pass.
Tl;dr: Killers are hypocrites for complaining about good survivor perk combos when they use an overpowered and uncounterable perk combo every game. It's the small PP build for killer.
"overpowered and uncounterable perk combo"
"There is counterplay to BBQ"
Sometimes I feel like the forums should have like... restrictions to who can make suggestions and posts.
Hide behind the gen, get in a locker. Stop making dumb posts like these.
Or... just don't get hooked and git gud?

AFAIK, it's not 2 new Warframes, it's just Sevagoth coming in the next patch. I don't recall them teasing the one after Sevagoth, either.
A prime warframe is a skin, it's not that big a deal.
AFAIK, there is no new event planned in the next 1.5 months for Warframe.
I don't think there's 3 additional mission types either.
The Railjack revamp was a long time coming, that's been in the pipeline for, what, a year now? And it's not looking that good, either.
New area, that's true, but it's likely going to be a very wide, very open space with little in it aside from reused assets from a previous tileset, assuming you're referring to the Corpus Proxima.
New bosses and the lich system expansion: I'm not sure that's coming with this update, I'm fairly sure that's been postponed for the update after the next.
Zephyr rework looks good, though. I didn't know about that, but it seems they're hitting some good marks on her.
UI improvements seem all right.
I mean, DE deserves credit for their work ethic, they do put in quite a bit of work, but it's not as grandiose as you make it seem, and you have to remember that Warframe at some point was in the top 10 highest grossing games on Steam, so they have likely got waaaaay more manpower to work with than BHVR.
The other thing to keep in mind is that balance is hardly a concern in Warframe, while it is the most complicated thing in DBD. Previous poster mentions SMITE, which also has to deal with balance, but that's balance in a symmetrical game, which is way less complicated than the obscene amount of game elements that DBD is comprised of.
This game is one of the most complex designs, so introducing -any- new content or changes to existing content is going to take way more effort here than in games like SMITE or Warframe.
I get that BHVR is not perfect, but it IS fair to say that you can't really compare DBD to other games.
Oh hiya Fire. :) Was using the time between Lavos' release and Call of the Tempastari's release, though it was wrong of me to put 1.5 months, as that was completely unintentional, that should actually say 3.
I suppose it would be fair to say that balance is much more important in DBD than Warframe, however, I can't get behind the idea of it taking 3 months to change 3 perks and update a killer power when these have been complaints for years.

They don't share things with us because as soon as they decide something different, everyone will inevitably complain. Take the planned OoO change. If it's ANYTHING different than that, you can bet the community will be like "The devs said..." and leave out that they explicitly said "This may not be the final version."
It's not fair to assume that when this is literally the FIRST time they've shown us what they plan to do in advance. It's why people have issues with what gets changed, because feedback isn't listened to and plans aren't transparent, so they don't know how to do things the right way.

so honestly... I have no idea what I should take from your post besides "these guys have more stuff on a list, therefore the work better and/or more".
In the time it took you to write this you could've found out with a simple google search, but okay.

It's really not that difficult of a concept to understand.

The game is balanced around the low FOV. That's the reason Shadownborn is a perk and why there's no FOV slider. Increasing your FOV gives you a massive advantage.
Shadowborn does not give you a "massive advantage" it just makes things easier to see. For someone with motion sickness this can cause serious eye strain which can dissuade one from playing killer all together, as Shadowborn is essentially a requirement. Shadowborn is not a massive advantage in comparison to literally any other killer perk.
For other games with FOV sliders, not everyone turns them to max and are fine with the normal settings. An FOV slider would be perfectly fine.
Also, 360s are not a core part of the game. If you are solely relying on 360s to escape, you're probably looping wrong. Killers can still be 360ed with Shadowborn, just a bit more difficult.
-
Here's another useless suggestion...
Edit: Rude, sorry. I don't get why this is a suggestion. Doctor doesn't need it and his power doesn't really have anything to to with gens...
-
For the People, don't bother actually trying to safely heal them, just stick with them and immediately FTP when they go down twice, easy. The challenge without it is so dumb that it's not even worth trying.
