Thats whats wrong with the community. Teabagging was created as an insult, and thats what most people use it for.
Your answer might be to ignore it, but i dont want to play with people that are for no reason rude and insulting to their fellow gamers.
Sure, the gesture might not be critical, but the intend behind it is.
-
A lot of killers are just gone, and a lot of them won´t look back. Maybe new killers, maybe players who play both roles might play more killer. Or maybe not.

Survivor to Survivor:
When you spawn in with another survivor and they give you 1-2 teabags: "We got this, bro."
When a survivor is on a gen and another survivor approaches and gives you 2 teabags: "Hello"
When a survivor pops a gen and another survivor faces them and teabags (2-3 times) while staring up: "STOP ######### UP THE GEN, NEWB."
When a survivor gets healed, and the healed survivor teabags (2 times): "Thank you"
When a survivor who just healed another survivor teabags in response: "You're welcome"
When a survivor runs up to a gen you're doing and teabags repeatedly (5+ times): "I have no intention of helping; I'm just here for the memes."
When you're hooked and the last remaining survivor teabags repeatedly across the map: "I found the hatch, please #########."
Survivor to Killer:
When a survivor teabags and flashlights in front of you: "I know where the god loop is and intend to waste your time while flashlighting every palette" (avoid)
When a survivor teabags safely on the other side of a palette: "I'm not very good at looping, but palettes make me feel safe and secure"
When a survivor teabags at a window: "Come and get me through this window, slow a$$ window vaulter"
When a survivor lingers in the exit gate doing 360's and teabagging: "I feel cool and edgy when the killer comes, even though I'm completely safe and this is stupid"
When a survivor is waiting patiently at the edge of the exit gate line, facing the exit but looking behind them: "Killer wanna give it one more tap before I go? wink*wink"
When a survivor teabags 2 times before running out the door, typically while not being aggresively pursued: "Thanks for the game/escape, my new killer friend."
They're subtle nuances, but you learn after awhile. ;)
Hmm, when i play killer, i translate survivor tbagging differently.
I understand it more like " i like you, come and get me and lets be together till the end of the struggle phase. And if someone interrupts us, just hook me again with your strong arms.
Sometimes it means: "hook me, tunnel me, mori me".
As you say, subtle nuances.

I can't believe we had a survey about fairness and the focus was teabagging rather than on Freddy.
So you dont understand the difference between fairness and gamebalance.
They are two seperate things.
Like in a boxing match. One being lightweight and the other a heavyweight is a matter of balance,
spitting one in the face and kick him while he is on the ground is a matter of fairness and sportsmanship.
-
It wont happen because swf dont like fair games. If a game is balanced around their advantage, its a punishment.
Just chill and play survivor.

That makes zero sense. If it said SWF in lobbies killers would cry and dodge endlessly. It isn't anything to do with SWF eing unfair it is because killers are scared of SWF because there are SOME really good teams. The way most of you killer mains make out it is every team of survivors you go up against that are pro players and that just isn't the case. Even this thread is dumb, "I got 25 SWF groups in a row" based on what? The items? The names? The cosmetics? Just ready up and play the ######### game, you whiny little bitches.
And who exactly are "you killer mains"? I am survivor 70% of the time, mostly solo. But i played my fair share of swf games, and i know that even a casual group gets way too much power over the direction the game is taking by comms alone.
The fact is the game is not balanced around constant communication, and to deny that this is a heavy advantage, just shows how biased you are. I at least play both sides, and have an idea what its like.
-
Well, keys and the hatch are needed if you play a lot of solo survivor.
Because every 3 or so matches, the random survivor found first just suicides or dc´s, with no gen done. And suddenly the game is very killersided.
If the game is over, it should just end there. But it doesnt. So, you can still play normaly and hope for a key, if the other survivors are potatoes like the first one. It can still get exciting for you, instead of just running up to the killer to suicide on the hook too and hope for a decent match next game.
Latly, i play plunderers instinct, because you get a key every 2-3 games. And while i play the game normaly then anyway (so i got a big stash of keys at the moment), if you found a game in one of those scenarios, it keeps you playing.
When i play killer, i dont care about the hatch anyway. to me, 0-1 kill is a loss, 2 kills are ok, 3+ kills are a win. you cant control the hatch, if one gets away, so be it. Even if two or 3 escape via the hatch, the game is at least over fast.
But i had one game, i killed one survivor, and 3 were standing around the hatch when i came...
one opend, the second jumped, and the 3rd stood there stunned when i closed the hatch in front of him...
also funny the last survivor standing on the hatch waiting for the killer (to teabagg, i assume) , while i sneak up from behind and he obviously didnt know wraith can close the hatch while cloaked ^^.
I like the idea for a "critical hit" on a killer, but it might be too unbalanced, i can´t say.
-
So, slugging is just a tactic, and usually fair. Dont fall for it.
-
When swf is not unfair, why are a lot of swf-players against showing swf in the lobby?
Because they are afraid of killers dodging.
But why is that, if nothing is unfair about additional communication?
-
Thats true most of the time, but try plunderers instinct. I got a key about every 2-3 games when using this perk.
-
Why are they even allowed to stream games with me in it without my consent? Do they hide my name?
hmm, have to look it up, did i agree to that when i installed the game?
-
The problem is even worse. The algorithm will expand your rank criteria if no match is found, and you will end up being matched against survivors way more experienced than you, and you will be stomped. you need a high tolerance for frustration to start as killer.
Also, be aware of this: In low ranks, killers beat low rank survivors. In red ranks, survivors beat killers more often than not.
If you are paired against red or purple ranks as a low rank killer... well, you know what to expect.

Depends on what you see as early game, I just had somone pull a key out of a chest and then key out of 5 gens technically. I closed hatch and then he "outskilled" me.
Yeah moris can be used early if the team or individual survivor is dumb and let's you end 2 chases with them very fast.
Just had a game where another survivor unhooked me in front of the killer without bt. Killer hit me before i could move or the chase even started. That was really dumb of me, you are right. But i am willing to learn, what would you have done in my place?

Are you checking their profiles every single game or are you just assuming people bringing items must mean they are SWF? Because that's what your post kinda sounds like to me.
For me, asking them after the game works. Most swf will tell you so, and how many they were. I know, for some people social skills are like rocket sience, but asking isnt that hard.
-
No, i am a survivor main, but i do play both sides. The argument that was made is simply also true for the swf-situation.
-
But killers are forced to do that for every swf death squad. One side has to, the other shouldn´t?
-
I can totally understand you. But i play killer only 1/3 rd of the time, and if i get frustrated, i just play more survivors.
Yet i encounter swf very regular. (and i know, because i ask them after the game. most will tell you).
But since swf wont change, you either come back if your frustration goes, or you just move on to the next game. theres plenty out there.
-
Well, i will wait for the map reworks and the other changes, and see how it works out for both sides.
After that we will see what - if any - further changes are needed.

Matchmaking being fixed won't stop all killers from abusing moris to tunnel survivors out of the game instantly.
No, not all. But i would bet some would, because a lot of killers use those as a way to keep up. I know i do, when i play killer.
And a lot of killer mains dont use them, because they have enough experience in their role to not need them.
Sure, sometimes someone chooses easy mode, but i belive it would go down.
-
I dont like this idea. Disconnects are bad, but there is no fair way to compensate for that.
I mean, yeah, your suggestion helps the survivors, but what about the killer? He downed one, and want to hook him to keep pressure, and then suddenly not only is the potentiol nessesary unhook gone, but also a gen...
To compensate that, should a random survivor switch the place with the dc´ed one, so the killer can keep the pressure? I mean, it would be fair, right? Both sides are affected by the dc.
Thats the reason we have dc punishments, and rightly so.
Also, your fighting chance is called the hatch. At least for one of you. (thats the reason i belive the hatch is needed and shouldn´t been changed). Maybe the chances for a key in a box should increase if a dc happens. Its only a better chance, not a given, also the survivor still have to do 4 gens (instead of 5)
-
The thing is, with the current matchmaking, moris might never come into effect. a rank 14 killer vs 3 survivors rank 14-9 might be ok, but if the 4. is a rank 1 looper expert (which isnt uncommon with this matchmaking) you can be sure he never will hook all 4 survivors. Or that one player that hides every time in the corner of the map. How far should the killer go out of his way to use a mori? Its ok to work for it, but hooking all 4 just maintain the imbalance that happens in many games anyway.
Think of keys. If keys would only work for someone who has by himself done a whole gen progress, it might be ok. If it only works if every survivor did at least a whole gen, it easily becomes useless in solo games.
There is a fine line between working for an effect and make it unobtainable under certain circumstances.
-
Well, if all survivors use the "increase fog" offering or the oak-offering, or even the coin-offering, do you think that has an effect on the game? I actually i do think so. Yes, they are not nearly as powerful as a mori by themself, but they do affect gameplay. As do map offerings, in a very strong way.
Also, the mori doesnt delete the killer objektive. One does nothing until 3 survivors are already gone, one basicly deletes 2 out of 12 hookstates (and one chase).
The ebony does much more, i agree. But actually, if a mori is used to kill one survivor early, in my opinion it doesnt matter if its an ivory or an ebony, because if the skill level is somewhat equal, the game became a 3v1 far to early and is basicly over. Dosnt matter then if the survivors are hooked or killed, because they will lose anyway.
Now, i think a sabotage squad with 4 times the rare oak offering might make the killers live also misserable.
so either you want all except xp offerings gone, or you do accept they have an influence on the game. Some more, some less.
For me, it is actually important how often that happens. And i dont have too many games where a mori is involved (and actually does something). I had games where all 4 escaped and you see in the end screen the killer had an ebony mori. happens.
I would suggest to stop worring about moris and worry more about matchmaking. Because i firmly believe, thats the root of all evil. A lot of killers use moris, camping and tunneling to keep up because they often find themself in games they shouldnt belong in, against opponents why above their skill level. At least thats my experience.
-
I think people should have the choice. I, for one, play the game solo because i like the tension you get from not knowing all whats going on. But that is impossible to balance together with swfs with coms.
Surprisingly, there is a vocal group that thinks how they play the game is the only way to do it, and they are against those choices for the players, because "it would split the player base".

I think certain killers are just too difficult to play against for solo play that people do their builds around solo play leaving out much needed team efficiency perks. but they don’t need to nerf Swf. I envy those people. Killers in high ranks just ransack smaller maps and those that are medium size still prove difficult due to high mobility killers. Gens just don’t get done in solo tbh. And it’s starting to get frustrating. Nerf survivor this, nerf survivor that... eh. I think it’s time to move on to another game. You hand ez downs to killers and their ebony Mori’s just further depress people trying to enjoy playing survivor. I didn’t realize I paid money and keep paying money for a game where killer just gets to have his way with his opponent. However, there are certain killers that I think need help. Clown, plague are two of them.
I really dont know what game you play. In my games, gens get done. Yes, there are gens where the only gens being done are the gens i do, but those are the games i get out alone. But mostly 3-5 gens get done, and when all gens are done, its not uncommon for all 4 survivors to leave, altough often one gets caugth and camped. Depending on how altruistic the other survivors are, or if they are in an swf, the killer gets some more kills, or just the one.

How about we don't buff survivors
How about we buff them if buffs are needed? That being said, i would wait for the changes to go online and gather data about it, and then see the state of killers and survivors based on that data, not on the forum feedback.
-
Well, its in the survivors had that the trap even activates. And i see plenty of survivors that are trapped that do a gen first.
Dont get me wrong, i was killed by traps for the same reason, but since i prioritize getting rid of the trap (because i mostly play solo, and your fellow survivor dont care about your trap) i had far less problems.

Quote Dehitay:
If you can actually get 100 victories in a row with 3 or more kills at rank 1 with valid proof, I'll lobby alongside you. I'm surprised nobody picked up on this borderline impossible condition. I'm perfectly ok with saying if you can pull that off, let's nerf killers somehow. If survivors could get 100 4 man escapes in a row, I would definitely want them nerfed.
After i delivered solid proof he jumped on the Illuminati conspiricy train, thats the reason we still have a discussion going.
Fungoose has 7K hours, and he is a very good player obviously, but on the other side, there are also good survivors with the same ammount of hours on the record ..or even more. Its highly unlikely that he was not running into 4 man tryhard squads in almost 120 games who have at least the same experience then he has. And he still managed to 4K them - with No addons / offering Plague...
According to some here, its impossible to beat those groups, and according to even the majority here, killer mains run into SWF groups on daily basis.
My point was to just show that it is in fact possible to beat the best survivors over and over again, if you are just good enough.
But as you say, we should not balance mainly for the best of the best, but rather more for experienced but not highly skilled players. Still, it leaves a sour taste, since you have to imagine what this will do to those killers who already dominate without those upcoming killer buffs.
Because the matchmaking in this game is purly skill based and one of the best in the gaming industry.
Oh wait...
-
Should a killer keep his mori if he doesnt use it in a game?
-
still not the point.
-
If the killer never finds them, they are never hooked, and if they split, 3 work on a gen while one hides. How can such a team lose? Seems like a not-so-well-thought-through-argument.
-
I would rather go for performance in game. If you are in a chase, how long does the chase last? Killer are better the shorter the chase, for survivors the opposite is true.
How many saves do you make (pallet, flashlight, protection hits, hook sabotage, head on), how many skillchecks do you fail, how many time do you spend overall on doing any task (gens, totems, healing)?(with a different weight if you are doing them in close range to the killer, no matter the terror radius).
As killer how easy do you find survivors, how long are your chases, how often is a survivor rescued from your grip, how long does it take to hook someone, hmm, as survivors i find way more idicators. Killer is mostly chases and finding...maybe a metric for map pressure, but i dont know what you could take for that.

It dosent make sense cause you arnt being toxic to the people who were toxic to you if your toxic to the same survivors who were toxic towards you that fine go ahead bu tyour being toxic to other survivors who didnt do anything wrong
True. you just asume that the next group of survivors is as toxic as the last. And you are often right.
-
But thats actually what i expect. They should come up with a fair metric to measure skill (and i know that is not an easy task), because otherwise, the new matchmaking system will not be much better.
-
Problem is, playing red rank survivor for 2 years (and thus a decent devotion level) don´t turn you into a good killer magically when you change your role. They should employ some metrics of performance in game, instead of just time played (which is devotion, basicly)
-
Sure, i dont think its an exploit, but its the overall context.
He plays one of the top killers
plays on a high level
uses costumized settings
Argues that all killer can do it.
If anything, it might show that his killer of choice might be op, but drawing conclusions for every other killer is simply not valid.
And that forms a whole picture.

Looking at your prestige i think your matchmaking could be fair tho
Well, i am a survivor main, for the first year i played survivor only, then i started slowly playing killer (mainly to learn about their weaknesses).
I have no main killer, i play them all, so i mastered none, and i suck at chases, because i play the game as survivor as hide and seek, not catch.
I can juke killers, but i cant loop them. As a killer, thats a bad thing, because you cant win chases against good loopers. (thats why i prefer killers you dont see coming, or better dont hear coming).
I play killer for a change, and i am really content not to be a red rank killer of high skill, as long as i would get matches in my skillrange, instead of red rank survivors. And swf only makes it worse, because all the surprise you have from using a stealth killer are gone the instant you meet the first survivor.
-
I tunnel and camp. But only in matches where i am fastly outskilled by survivors. I am ranked in the middle as killer, usually around 12-8 (i am a survivor 70% of the time, but play both sides anyway), and i am constantly matched against at least 2 red ranks, and 4 red ranks are not uncommon. They are way better in chases than me (because even as survivor, i like the game more like a hide and seek, and end my chases quickly by juking the killer), and when i get them, the game is often over. Yes, camping and tunneling then have even led to 4k, because when survivor know you are not on their skill level, they get cocky.
If i am paired against survivors of equal or lower skill, i dont employ such tactics, because i dont have the constant feeling of being helpless. Also, they are not permanently teabagging like a lot of red ranks do. I dont mind winning or losing then, because i have the feeling i can actually do something in the game.
And i belive thats a problem of many killers. Fix matchmaking, and it might turn out better.
-
Graphics filter so survivors cant hide. Imagine customizing your graphics to avoid the game how is meant to be played (in a way you can lose survivors in a chase for example) and then complain about the game being to easy.
To be fair, i use colorfilters too, but thats because i am colorblind, and since they didnt implement a colorblind mode for 2 years, i have to use them to see the aura of gens, because otherwise, i cant see them.
-
usually you just need to update the Nvidia-drivers.
-
Well, they gave no timeline for that at all. It can come next month, it can come next year.

The devs have not released information regarding this problem, but most theorize it is due to faulty matchmaking. The evidence to support this is that the devs are doing a matchmaking rework soon.
Its true that some people theorze that, but how do you know its most? can you back up that claim? also, you use the word evidence very casualy, because thats no evidence at all, its an interpretation.
-
Oh, so its all about you, not killers and survivors in general?
Also, as i suspected, you didnt answer the questions. Because that wouldnt support your viewpoint.
-
I just had a game with a 3swf team, i am a solo survivor. I did 3 gens alone, including the last one. Then the killer camped the one survivor they got (one was dead already), and i unhooked him and tanked a hit for him, because i was still unhooked. And the 2 swf left me there. No noed or instadown was involved.
This is not a single incident. So no, i dont want to trade hooks for random survivors, because in the end, they dont care for me and sacrifice me.
Happend time and again, and at some point you are supposed to learn from your experience.

-
Do you have visions of the future, or do you just hope killers return? Because there is a long list of games i left during my days, and i seldom returned to one, no matter what they changed afterwards. Because, usually, i only lern about the changes much later, because if i dont play a game, i dont follow its updates.
-
Well, that i did as a killer latly if that happpens, i play the game normaly, but i keep track of how often i hook a survivor, and never hook them a second time, i just slug them. If i get all players down, i won and i let them finish the gens and go out. If someone hook suicides, its his problem, not mine.
But this applys only in a dc i think is legit soon after the game starts, not if the one dcs i am going to hook for the second time or somehting.

I'm fine with playing against SWF, I'm good enough to hold my own, but it's easier to blame SWF than your own skill level, don't think I've ever seen a killer main on the forums go "well maybe I just played poorly", it's always OP survivors and not their own mistakes.
Are you denying that swf have an advantage over solo players?
As i see it, the game should be balanced for a good and thrilling game. Lets say you have 4 solo survivors at the same skill level as the killer, it would be fair and balanced, would you agree?
But if you make them a swf with coms, do you think its still balanced the same way?
Because i think, for being on par with swf, the killer has to be better than the survivors, not equal like vs the solo players. What do you think?
I am intresting in hearing your opinion on the points i made. So 4 questions, if you are intrested in a discussion, plz give 4 answers to those.
-
Actually, it is, because most matches i get as killer look like that.
One of my highlights i played as a killer
I can post some more if you want.
Sure, its not from today, but matchmaking didnt get better since then.

Funny, every time someone disagrees with you on this thread, instead of trying to have a rational debate with them about game balance, you instead spend all this time looking at our profiles and combing through our old comments, and take them out of context, in some desperate bid to discredit us instead of trying to actually come up with a counterpoint. How sad.
Are you trying to tell me that the post i quotet had anything to do with a rational debate?
Well i am not a native englishspeaker, maybe i missunderstood it. What was the rational contribution to the debate you wanted to make in that post ?
