Funny, meta Killers who use crutch/"second chance" perks aren't fun to go up against, either. But you're just gonna focus on complaining about one side cause you're a hypocrite.

Funny, when you look at your comments and most of them are just focus on complaining about one side. Seems you are a hypocrite yourself.

  • But why do swf then dont want to get a fair game? a blancing for swf is often called "punished for being swf", while in truth people just want to balance out the advantage. Can you explain? Did you buy an asymetrical game to get unfair easy modes?

  • i think sometimes the killer is just standing in the wrong spot, and he has to move to get the close-hatch-button. If you are aware of your positioning, it usually works, at least for me, and if nothing was changed latly.

  • And thats why a lot of survivors enjoy him more than freddy. he is warted down, and way less powerful.

  • so, since its just a game it doesnt have to be fair or balanced? Or what do you want to say by that?

  • In my experience, OoO user are toxic, and often good loopers. To go after them early is often a waste of time. But you can get the other survivors, and the OoO is nearly impossible to help, because you know where he is, too. Also, if he is the last survivor, there is no hidding from you, as it doesnt matter anymore how much time it takes to get him.

  • A lot of them read themself like they are.

Pleaseeeee stop relying to this comment its a cringy bait i made like a month agooo

Well, it thats true, i belive a lot of your posts are just bait. But then there is no real reason to argue with you, is it?

  • so, bubba found one survivor, chased him, downed him, brought im into the basement, camped him for 110 seconds, found a second one, chased him, downed him, and only 3 gens done (which take 80 seconds for 3 survivor to do, leaving 30 seconds while camping + time for the chase). If you worked with 3 on the 4th gens, he takes about 40 seconds, as long as noone has a toolbox or proof theyself to speed it up. Why wasnt the 4th gen already done?

How long did he take to get the second survivor? If he camped him too, the 3k was totally your fault. if he didnt, 3 ppl still unhooked should be able to do 1 gen, especially if they had time to select the last 3 gens because the killer applied no pressure.

so, you say someone telling you gen rush counters camping is an idiot? And its a 4k all the time? sorry, i just think you have no clue.

  • you can repeat it all you like, you are still wrong.

Tell me how many kills that bubba got in the end, and rememer that due to the devs 2k 2escapes are a balanced game.

  • the devs know, they just dont care.

  • I would be ok with the same information on both sides, if it is all information.

All names of survivors and killer. is fine for me.

noone sees perks, and noone sees items, also fine.

survivors knows killer plays solo, killer knows wich survivors play solo.

    all got the same informations.

  • SWFs has a lot of advantages that makes them way stronger than solo players.

One is nullifying killer perks, like Hex: Third seal or knockdown, as well as having virtual aditional perks, like Kindred, bound, empathy, and many more. If one survivor runs OoO, the whole swf knows about the position of the killer, and can avoid him, while the OoO Player lures him away.

The game is build for uncertaincy, that the survivor has to guess whats going on on the other side of the map. SWF take that aspect completly away. Also, they can coordinate far better. "i took a hit, used palett at location X, and now my exhaustion perk is triggered, can someone take him off me?", as well as information about "sabotage that hook" or " i nearly wiggled through, just one body block plz" puts a swf way over the top in comparison of the killer.

I also notice that the ones that say swf is not bad are the ones that always argue from the survivor perspective, and i believe thats all they are playing, so they never have to deal with it and only play it down to conserve that power for them.

  • I actually think matchmaking is the bigger problem. I, when i play killer, do resort to camping, when and because i am paired against players way above my skill level. If i play with players around my level (and you easily recoginize the difference in the game), i do neither camp nor tunnel, becuase i dont have to. I might still lose, but i dont have the feeling i am completly helpless the whole game. Thats why i think that the changes to the maps that are made might go a big step in the direction to fix camping, fixing matchmaking might be another one. Sure, some people will always camp, but a lot do because its the only thing they can do.

  • The fact is, if i try to play killer by the rules, without camping and tunneling, i am insulted in the end game chat anyway. Survivors dont honor such behavior if they escape. Happens to me time and again, because i always try it. After 2 such games, 1 either go back playing survivor, or i tunnel and camp. Because then only half the survivors are toxic in the end game chat, because the other half already left.

And that is exactly the problem with the Deathslinger and the total wrong approach of the devs to create an overall good experience for both sides (which is very important).

As a survivor, you have quick and, as you say, uninteractive chases, which leads to frustration for survivors. On the other side, the other survivors are bored by sitting on a gen all the time versing a 110% without any map pressure.

The same goes the way around. Boring and quick chases, yet getting genrushed.

The right design of a killer would be this: Long and thrilling chases with a lot of mindgames involed but in compensation a lot of genpressure for the killer. Hillbilly comes to mind right away. Or even freddy.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1220109#Comment_1220109

If you really think it is a good idea to create an experience so that survivors feel remorse even started the game when facing a certain killer, you should never even think of doing or even discussing anything related to ballancing. A game should be a great experience for both sides, not agonie. This game is not supposed (and should not be) to be for masochists. Some think it is apparently, thats why some killers behave like sadists. Or have obscure ideas like you have. No offense btw.

Arent freddy and billy 2 of the killers survivors complain the most in the forums?

  • he is running to you, and blocks you and prevents you from getting the unhooker. Then you hit him, because you have nothing to lose, and then you know he has borrowed time, or ds. But you didnt answer the question. Is thos tunneling and camping in your opinion, because in mine, its not. Thus, your statement is wrong, because these perks hurt you without you doing these things because survivors use those perks in a very active way against you.

  • sure it is. fewer killers mean fewer games. What else can it be, in your opinion?

Decisive shouldn't hurt you unless you tunneled. Borrowed time it only effects you if you were camping or proximity camping. If you don't like borrowed time you could use insidious to camp without a heart beat or use a stealthy killer . Dead hard just bait them for it, I flick my stick up fast and they dead hard lol.

In your opinion, if the killer goes for another player, and a player with an active ds bodyblocks the killer and gets downed, is that tunneling or not? Because i see ds and borrowed time used a lot this way. Also, is it camping if you have a survivor near the hook that loops you around the hook, because that also happens a lot.

Who’s to say that infinite’s were not a legitimate strategy? It only took 4 years to “fix” it, right?

Sound in this game is still broken, matchmaking is broken, colors are broken (for colorblinds, at least), and these aren´t fixed yet either. It just means the devs can´t get their prioritys straight.

  • Am i the only one that thinks this idea is horrible?

Yes, it would eliminate all those things, but also any saves. You would either be on a gen or in a chase, because on the hook you die, and there is no need to rescue someone.

Thats basicly half the game taken away.

And what does the killer get to compensate that pressure he can´t build up because everyone not in a chase can simply keep to his gen?

  • I agree with Orionbash that survivor is weaker when played as inteded, that is solo survivors without communication.

There are some strong options that are simply not availibe vs swf-teams. But killer is still weaker as soon as swf is involved, even if its just 2 swf with 2 solos. (yes, i asume that swf is on comms. I know that might not be true in every case)

SINCE TODAY, Im just watching otz's vod of his last stream where he is playing clown and not doing so hot trying to look for a build that works.

Just a joke but I think most realized this already :P

i doubt you cant except that this is seen as a joke if you compare it with other threads on this forum. Also, there is no killer i havn´t seen nerf threads for.

  • Then yell at your fellow survivors for doing none. All have to be cleansed, thats as it is. Do the bones.

(but to be fair, i do bones every game, but if i dont do all and noed is there i am the one that gets it, too...)

Whats the point of creating the 500th Thread about Matchmaking? Yes, it is broken. This was told 499 times before your thread.

Well, we have no further information about the new matchmaking, no timetable. But for some of us, the matchmaking is a think that could drive us away. While some survivors might have fun bashing lesser skilled killers, not all of us enjoy that, and especially not from the killer side.

But till now that topic doesnt seem to have any priority. And that needs to change. Sure, some people that get the bad matchups because they are matched with low skill survivors then simply call for a killer nerf, but some are more reflected about what the core of the problem is, which is very unequal matchmaking.

  • Thats depends on your point of view. I was skeptical of the rework, but i belive he is stronger now than he was before.

some aspects were taken away, some were added. I wouldnt him called nerf´d at all.

  • I think noed is fine and doesnt need to be reworked. Survivor main, mostly solo, but can count to 5 while doing totems.

Iri Head+Infantry Belt is 3 hatchets.. not 1; and most killers will run Corrupt Intervention and today I saw an Iri Head Huntress running blood warden

How is iri head + Infatntry belt = only iri head? Can you explain?

I am pretty new to the game. But i can notice as survivor (now green) i get pretty decent killers my rank. Also team mates often my rank. But seems when i play killer i keep getting paired with survivors way below my rank i am yellow killer against all purple. Its not like there are no survivors my rank beeing green. So why?

Because match making is broken, and while they are reworking it, it doesnt seem do be a high priority, so i dont expect a fix this year. I am waiting for 1,5 years for a color blind support option.

Just had a game myself with my rank 11 killer vs 4 rank 2 and 3 survivors.

  • Hag is my favorite killer, and i find flashlights against her very annoying. but it is far from breaking her power in a matchup. With trapper, you could take away his unique power if you had a squad that would sabotage all traps.

  • Yes, you fixed an exploit in map design , now do something about a legit stategie i dont like!

But maybe the fix of the one is the fix of the other. With chases being done faster, just going for the next survivor might show to be the better way than camping. So maybe it is fixed with that. We´ll see.

gg bb ez killer...is not the problem here. The second they start using racial/homophobic slurs, they need to be reported and issued some kind of penalty. When reporting, try to provide as much info as you can, steam IDs screenshots...

why though? The intention of both is the same, they just different means to that end.

Edit: to clarify: i dont think they are on the same level or anything. I just think even "mild" insults should be punished, because the intention still is to insult.

  • Well, would you abandon your civil rights? I mean, those only make the jobs of police, intelligence agencies and the court of laws harder.

And if you are thinking about others before you, you would agree, wouldnt you?

If making the job of someone easier impacts other peoples rightful interests, its not just a matter of being nice to someone.

  • Well, i still play way more survivor than killer, and survivors are even toxic to one each other in addition to being toxic to the killer. Want some examples?

I used to run bound, now its often kindred. But i am aware a lot of what other survivors are doing. in a match vs trapper, he was in a chase with a survivor, and i got stuck in a trap. The survivor changed his course and lead the killer directly to me, so he would take me instead of himself, even though i had been hung, and he hasnt.

I had times i didnt run self care, and had games where your fellow survivors refuse to heal you up, instead doing gens, going to the next gen, and when the killer comes he goes for the injured one first.

i had games with 2 or 3 swf as a solo. Gens are done, gates open, one get hooked, you help them free him, and you got caught. And noone comes to your aid, even though the killer has no noed (because i did totems) and isnt hookcamping. You are simply not part of the team.

I am not good at chases, i am better at hiding. A survivor that is in a chase and know were you are hiding (my experiments with aftercare) leading the killer to you multiple times till he notice you.

People that do unsave unhooks without bt and then bodyblocking you so they get away.

even if the killer does neither tunnel nor camp, then he is "ez". At least then i am in a position to defend the killer when other survivors are toxic.

  • Yes. Depending on your skill level, its the choice of being stomped and getting some kills.

You want to know my experience as killer (note i play killer only about 30-40% of the time, i am a survivor main).

If i dont camp and tunnel, the chances i get no kill increase. if that happens, in 95% of the games you get insulted and belittled by the (mostly swf) survivors in the aftergame chat. Babykiller, ez, git gud, all the stuff. Thats happen if you play nice.

If i do camp and tunnel, i still get insulted after the game, but at least i got some kills. And i get the insults anyway.

Survivor toxicity ruins the game, because it breeds new toxicity.

  • Play killer and do it differently. and every game you are in the survivor will have fun, won´t they?

  • Well, killer get buffed, and if they need to be buffed to swf-level, then solo survivors will suffer. If its balanced for solos, killer suffer from swf. If swf is nerfed, swf-players suffer. Basicly, the devs just have to chose which group to alienate. Killer player numbers are already down, thats why suddenly map reworks that were needed for months come out to balance it a little.

I still think doing 2 queues with different balancing should be the way to go. And no, balancing around the advantage swf has is not about punishment, its about balance.

  • The current map changes might encourage different behaviour though.

To me, i tunnel and camp in matches i have to because i am outskilled again due to bad matchmaking and chases against way better players just go on for too long. But with the changes it might encourage just going to the next player at once.

While i like the map changes, the general problem is the overall time. I like my games to be around 15-20 minutes, but those games become rare, because gens go so fast. But these short games dont build up the same tension that the longer games do, at least for me.

  • I know the totem spawns except for the dead saloon map, and do it without perk.

  • I dont know any casual game that says unfair advantages are ok for the game. Can you name some?

  • Well, i disagree with long chases as the only determining vector.

I, for example. like to play the stealth game. Yes, i do unhook, but mostly safe, yes, i do gens, and only leave them when the killer is near, not when i hear a faint heartbeat, and if i get in a chase, i try to juke the killer, which i have done successfully 15 seconds into a chase.

There are lots of games where i dont even get hooked. Yet, by your metric, when i hide from a killer that searches the surroundings of my gen (and whom i keep occupied this way) while i actively hide from him, or if i end a chase fast, i would be a rank 20 survivor....

well, that would boost my survival rate, because i would get paired against less experienced killers, thus my strategy would work even better, but it doesnt seem exactly fair to me.

  • Head on is a fine perk i think, it has good uses, but its not nearly op. there are swf that try to abuse it, but even they can´t pull it off regulary. But its really nice to make a save through it.

  • Yet, there are killer perks like Third seal and knockout that just dont work against swf. they might be played, if there were a chance they might actually do something in a game.

  • If those screens are your argument, you havnt seen bad matchmaking yet. But you will.

  • @VoidOfBeing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1214760#Comment_1214760

It's just painful to get hooked and just see 2 Claudettes self caring in corners

But is it more painfull than realizing that those 2 Claudettes dont come to unhook you, because they are to afraid to go in injured?

Also, as a solo survior, i played without self care, and had several games where your fellow surivors just dont heal you. you finish a gen, they run away, and go work on the next. And it became clear why they did that, when the killer came and made a go for the injured one, while they run away.

you cant put your thrust into random solo survivors, thats a lesson i learned over my time in this game, because a lot will sacrifice you for their advantage, and sometimes even for their amusement.

  • But with dedicated swf-lobbys seperated from casual queues, you could balance both seperatly, by either buffing the killer or nerfing the swf,

and then balance solo survivors around their limited knowledge of what goes on in the game.

At the moment, balancing around solo and swf is impossible in my opinion, but devs dont want to adress that.

People say killer woulndt want to go against swf, but if the balance would be obtained in that game mode, it wouldnt matter for killers, because balanced is balanced.

  • Well, i think seeing your own stats would help a lot. I think a lot of the "victim complex" in the player base comes from the fact that players really lose sight of their successes, thus play them down.

I started to keep personal statistics for a while, including which killer i got against, what perks everyone had, and the results. Turned out as a survivor, i have a surviving rate of about 75%.

Yet i would have sworn that as a killer i struggle way more. But since numbers down lie, i notice i am far more successfull as killer than i thought.

But thats because i remember the bad, abusive games as a killer far more than the mediocre ones. (most of my games are actually about 2k as killer, but some of them involve camping).

  • In europe, it really depends on day and time. Early in the day, its instant survivor lobbys for me, but longer killer lobbys. In the evening, the opposite is true.

That said, i can only play early because i stay at home at the moment, which i usually don´t do.

  • The continual back and forth of gameplay. all survivors getting hooked one after the other, survivors help each other like luring the killer away (no teabagging, makes the game instantly bad no matter which role i play), tanking hits for each other, while gens are slowly done.

I like it when till the last few minutes, noone knows if its going to be a 4k or a 4 escape. I had such games, but rarly.

But the issue is only in part playstyle (helping instead of just farming your fellow survivors, no camping and tunneling), but mostly a balance issue with different skill levels. But its my firm believe that camping and tunneling are symptoms of a high skill difference. When i play killer, i do both, if i cant get the survivors because my rank 12 killer is matched against rank 1 surivvors yet again, and they outplay me on every turn. If, however, i have a group where i can win chases (and not 3 gens are done with the first down), then there is no need for such tactics, and then, i dont mind winning or losing.
