It is not debatable that survivor que times are long, and killer que times are nearly instant. You can try to debate it if you want, but nobody is buying it, especially from you.
Wile i think this user is one of the most biased i have seen in this game, the point is kind of valid. IF you are known to be biased, it doesnt matter if every single statement is.
I play in Germany, and morning to early afternoon, survivor queues are instant, and killer queue takes a while. In the afternoon until somewhen in the night, the opposite is true.
But i would expect the afternoon to be more representative, because i doubt that the majority of players have time to play before that, so faster survivor times while only students and such can play might mean next to nothing.
But again, in other regions it might be different.
-
thats not the conclusion i would have drawn.
Usually, you cant conclude from "a is a waste of time" to "b is not a waste of time", but if it fits your "logic", i wont complain.
-
Yes, some of them try to be funny when they post, but really are not.
-
I am not convinced that reporting it with evidence is not a waste of yours.
-
Well, thats depending on your own opinion. RE 3is the only one i played only once, and part of that was that Nemesis just sucked.
-
The game is actually very survivor sided. So its basicly you still learning the game. I play solo survivor in red ranks and use to escape between 72 and 75% of my games, since the mori change i escape some more.
With better perks, map knowledge, and a team you can count on the game becomes incredible easy, toolboxes and stuff also helps.
Also the matchmaking in this game is just bad, you can play vs rank 1 killers one night, and rank 15 killers the next.
We heard a better matchmaking is coming, but we dont even know if thats true anymore.
-
I dont know any country who makes laws for ingame balance of online games, and in most states whatever is not forbidden, is legal. so its legal because lawenforcement and gouverment dont care about it. Glad i could help.
-
I would very much like to see complete statistics of this game. But then, i can actually interpret and corolate data in such statistics.
if i were a dev, i would not give this community those said stats, because a great portion of it have proven several times that they dont.
Also, even if more details are given, people still missinterpret those data (maybe even on purpose, i dont know) so yes, there is harm in giving out that data to everyone.
-
@Sluzzy said:
This is mostly due to survivor being very much harder than killer. If a survivor is not very experienced or confident, they have to resort to being stealthy to avoid the killer. A killer doesn't have this to worry about, they have perks to help slow the game down and tracking perks.
For me, survivor is way easier than killer. Thats why after the mori nerf i stopped playing killer, but my survival rate is up to 80+% (up from about 73%.
but that might be just a thing of personal preferences and playstyle.
-
While i usually dont report for farming (unless the killer and one or two survivors are farming the rest) i get angry in farm matches sometimes. My playtime is very limited, and there is nothing worse than to make time for that one game and the killer (or a survivor) is not playing seriously.
Because my time slot is wasted. I cant even disconnect and go to another game, because thats another 5 minutes in a game i reserved 15 minutes for. Its a little different with dcs (if i think its a genuine dc, not the "the killer downed me"-dc), but wasting a perfectly good game with farming is just a boring waste of time for me.

Can people mindgame him yes they can. How is stretched res gonna help at shack when you cant see more horizontal fov which which would actually give an advantage. Even autohaven June gyms are mindgamable. The spots you can see the killer over are on native as well.
I never denied swf gives a team an advantage. Thag advantage is merely just coordination because they can speak. Nothing else. Even coordinated, a swf can be bad like most survivors.
I dont know what you are answering to, i maybe better repeat my question: "are there mindgames he only wins because of strechted resolution?" But i did asked it in a two-question-combo, i give you that, you answered the first one.
-
Would be good for a camping huntress
one Hit before unhooking, one throw to down unhooker and unhooked
-
Well, aszame also denies that swf gives a team any advantages, so there is not much you can say.
-
I see you avoided answering my question. Very fitting.

I can still mindgame my friend who runs 1080 x 1080 on all tiles so its cheating how?
Depends. Can everyone else? Or are there mindgames vs people he only wins because of that resolution?
And yes, its cheating for sure, no matter how you justify it, and no matter what the devs do about it. Just like doping is cheating, even if you can´t proof it.
-
You are aware that the devs can use those stats because they are able to filter and corrolate them to other data they might not want to give you, right?
-
Most people in this game view the opposition as some sort of enemy, and not as their fellow gamer, as it should be.
I would agree you dont have to play by the survivor rulebook, but you can still determine how you want to play, keeping that in mind.
-
Well, it doesnt often happen to me. But i often see the argument that thats mean its not as frequent as poeple claim, and since its not happening every game it doesn´t have to change.
-
Also, do you include games wich contain:
Moris (old data)
Hook Suicide?
DCs?
-
Well, i would expect that in the evening and night have the most players, because earlier in the day a lot of people are at work or studying and such.

My issue is that not all SWF groups are tryhard / sweat bully squads.
Some are just groups of friends having fun and against a good killer will usually still lose pretty badly lol
I understand killers hating SWF in any way shape or form because of bully squads but that doesn't justify generalizing them all and assuming they're all toxic and guaranteed to win or use keys because that's simply not true.
Yes, but not all killers that used moris whould tunnel and kill a survivor of the first hook.
Yet, moris needed to change because of the people that did. And the same is true for swf.
@OT the pointis not that swf is somehow balanced by the existence of solos, but rather that you cant balance the game for solos AND swf in the same mode. If they were seperated or gone, you could balance the game, but you cant balance for matches with such high power differences. IF you make it fair for solos, killers get stomped by swf, if you make if fair for killers vs swf, solos can as well stop playing.
At the moment, there is a kind of middle ground, where the killer can win vs bad swf and get stomped by the good ones, as well as good solos stomping bad killers that win vs the team with the hook suicider. But that leads to matches that are just not winnable from the start for killers and/or solos.

That's not healthy gameplay and I'm not facing bad survivors. Healthy gameplay isn't camping generators. My survivors don't mysteriously go form borderline deathsquads with all the good stuff and decent looping skills when I don't have Ruin/Undying to mediocre morons when I do that also have all the goods stuff and decent looping skills but mysteriously the gens get massively slowed.
If you want to run perks, run perks. But don't try to come up with justifications for it, just go "I wanna win." There's nothing wrong with that, it's a videogame. When I want to win, I run broken perks and adodns and items. And I accept how broken they are and that, at the end of the day, no amount of justification changes the fact that I win a lot more when I equip them.
Intresting. Since you seem to say that you get one skill level to play against very regular, so the performance have to coincide with your perks, can you explain why i got poatoes and death squads while running the same killer at the same rank with the same setup?
-
I am not a good looper, if i am in a chase i juke the killer usually. For that, i often need to take a hit (because most pallets are already gone).
But again, i wouldnt go without selfcare. But you need to know when to selfcare and when not to.
-
And you never had the problem with people not healing you? because i had games i come to a gen, finish it with others, and they just run away. And when the killer turns up, he goes for me, because i am already injured.

No one with 7.5k hours like you claim you have would say self care is the best perk.
To be fair, i got 4,5k hours and self care is in all of my setups as solo survivor. Each time i go without it i rue it.

There are moments when you need to play injured and people who rely on SC usually fail to identify those. A brown medkit is 100% more time efficient then SC. A yellow with bandages is also as good with 2 heals. How many times do you need to heal in a match to justify bringing self care instead of a medkit?
Quiet often if you cut into chases by taking over from the injured one, and then use the hit to juke the killer. Or with the killer that camps and you dont want just to hooktrade. Sorry, maybe i am just not good enough, but one heal per game really isnt enough for me. but then, i dont use dead hard or ds, so i cant just fail and get extra chances.
-
1- Yes it is, because basicly you should play vs people in your skill range. If you play against people way below your skill level, there is not much they can do, and it surly isnt balanced. See an 8 year old boxing vs Mike Tyson in his prime and tell the 8year old he could have hit harder and needs to get good doesnt make such a matchup balanced.
2 why is that not the fault of your team, but instead the fault of the perk? Can you explain that?
Please, let me quote you "do you hear yourself"?

In other words: you mean he deserves to win because I was the better player? Do you hear yourself?
No, i mean because the game was unbalanced in the begining in your favor he needs something to even the odds.
Especially if you being able to loop him that long gives your team every opportunity to also do bones. Which your team decided not to.

@Terro said:
The problem with self care is that most players who run it in their builds develop bad habits and overuse it. They play super safe and spend far more time healing than they should be. Overall, those players waste more time than save. The whole idea of hiding until healed or actively looking for heals is an attitude developed from overreliance of self care. There are times where it makes sense to do it but those times are rare. Self care overall is not efficient compared to just having an injured survivor take calculated risks, have situational awareness and know how to loop. If the option to heal is there, then they can take it and there is no net loss of time.
But what if its the other way around? What if its just super safe playing people that run that perk? They would try to play super save without it anyway, and that means they might not come to your rescue unless they are fully healed. And if noones there to heal them, they just hide and let their team die. I have seen such players.
Also, not every player knows how to loop. I, for one, don´t. But i know how to juke. But at some maps, in order to juke the killer, you need to take a hit. Can only do that if i am healed.
Also, i play solo, and i had way too many survivors that don´t heal you, because if the killer comes and find you both, he often goes for the injured one.
the thing is, that self care is exactly as efficient as normal healing, because while it is at 50% speed, it just need one instead of 2 survivors. The difference is, that you choose then to heal, not that crappy teammate that wants to use you as a meatshield.
The thing is you have to know when to heal yourself and when not. But a potatoe teammate doesnt get better if he does not run self care.

It is whataboutism because your bringing up irrelevant things to discrete the suggestions made in the original post.
And you seem to be biased towards survivors. What about killers and their crutches, their overpowered addons their crutches perks?
The thing is, to see if a perk is too strong and needs a change, you need to compare it to others. Because by itself, HEX:Undying is fine. A small aura reading perk that shows auras near totems for 6 seconds. I dont see why that should be an issue.
The other effect only comes into play when used with other hex-perks, thus depending a lot on their strength.
But its not enough to look at that and then decide, you do have to look at the other options a killer have, and compare it to the options survivors have.
But if you do that, someone crys whataboutism, making the whole discussion obsolete.
If you cant compare it, it is not too strong, because it can only be to strong in comparison and combination.

Im so sick of this goddamn perk. Its for killers who are terrible at this game and need to rely on it. I had a match of a trapper who got destroyed but noed let him get a 2k. For those of you who say “well just do bones” do you know the how hard it is to find totems most of the time?
Yes, i know. The answer is: Not at all. You are aware that there are just 1-3 totem spots on each tile, aren´t you? Its not very hard to memorize them. Yes, after a map rework they are changed, but those are not a frequent thing. Detectives Hunch, (currently in the shrine as i heard) is a great way to learn about those spots.
Basicly you tell us you destroyed the killer easily, but were not able to do bones. Thats just you being lazy, because if you outplay the killer, you have all the time in the world to do them.
Anyway, if you destroyed him like you say, for me its a sign that you should never have played vs him and you were just carried by the bad matchmaking. Noed is one of the bandaids killers have to somewhat counter that.
-
While i am a survivor main, i used to play killer too, but have recently stopped.
The issues for me as killer where:
matchmaking, but this is bad for survivors as well.
swf.
The mori-nerf took away my ability to handle swf, i have no way to opt out on playing vs them, thats why i stopped playing killer.
Also, playing killer is often more binary than playing survivor.
If i play survivor with potatoes, and i escape, it feels like a win. If we have a team that works great, even if i die and the others escape, it feels like a win (it was a sacrifice to get all others out, for excample). And then there are the "balanced" games, where the killer gets two survivors after 10 hooks, and the other 2 escape.
As killer it feels much more like you either get trashed because you just cant keep up, or you steamroll the other team. Those close matches were more rare when i played killer. (but i wasnt a very good killer anyway).

A serious problem happen in game witch we bought.
And the suggestion is go play other game.
Well.
Sound familiar.
Dont get me wrong, just like a lot of others in this thread i belive it will never be fixed, because i belive the devs have no clue how to do that.
So it is a reality, and no amount on threads will change that.
So, you either play knowingly that the matchmaking will throw you way out of your skill class, or you play something else.
Everything else is just crying about a what-if-scenario.

Well the best way to improve is to face better players and learning from how they play. Camping because you get good opponents is the best way to stay bad at the game as you’ll never figure out how to outplay them
Well, i would be perfectly content to play against all the potatoe survivors i usually get as teammates in solo queue. Most of them dont even know how to do bones. But matchmaking always send me vs red rank swf (and no, i am not kidding, it happens way more than ppl at my own rank).
The thing is, if the skill difference is too high, there is nothing to learn from it, because you dont even realize what it is you do wrong. With players closer to your level, you can actually realize your mistakes and learn from them. And thats the games where i didnt camp.
But i stopped playing killer anyway. As solo queue survivor, i win most of my games, and the one that i lose are mostly due to my teammates being allergic to gens (if you run aura perks, you know what i mean)
-
actually thats what dead hard, adrenaline and hope for. And while they only work once of for a short time, the killer can do nothing to prevent them, unlike survivors and noed. Also, dead hard works the whole game, not just at egc.
-
@Mugombo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1846981#Comment_1846981
And that’s why you will always suck and never improve at the game.
If you say so.
-
I dont think so. I do camp as a killer, but mostly if i am matched against way better players than myself, because its the only way i have to keep up, and i know they come to me.
Has nothing to do with trolling, it has to do with the fact that it works, and up to 3 players come running to you, and even hooktrading so you get your hooks even though you are basicly outmatched (thats why you try to avoid chases you cant win, and this way, you do)
-
@Marigoria said:
Ok, but what if I'm the one on the hook? "Just struggle", yea, but I will still depip and only get very few bloodpoints. So how is that a strategy for me whatsoever? I feel like people who give that kind of advice aren't the ones sitting on the hook with a killer looking at them. It's easy to say "just do gens" or "waste the killers time" when you can actually play the game.
I shouldn't depip because I killer decided to stare at me on the hook and make me die on my first. The killer is still getting more BP for facecamping than I am for hanging on there for whatever how long.
You just dont see the bigger picture. Killers camp because it works.
By just doing gens and struggle as hard as you can, its not worth the killers time.
Now, if everyone would start playing that way, it would be some weeks, and killers would adept, because camping would not work anymore.
But since people
a)hooksuicide, freeing the killer to move to the next survivor, or
b) hookrush, giving the killer multiple downs, while no gen is done, or
c) just do whatever, but no gens
it becomes a good strategy for the killer.
-
You dont need to see ranks to know that you played with people that were nowhere near your skill level, no matter which role you and them are playing.

See, this happened to me as well. How am I supposed to do bones when I'm in a chase all game?
And people don't say "teammates ". Solo q is a nightmare. These are the same teammates that wouldn't take a hit when I ran by them injured with a killer up my ass.
I used to take the hits for my teammates. Then i stopped. You want to know why? Today i had a game, 1 gen left, all players alive, the killer is hunting one injured and on dead hook. I take the hit, and lure the killer away to the other side of the map, so the last gen can be done. Since all pallets are gone already, and i was forced to take that hit, i cant outrun or juke him, so i go down and get hooked. The killer runs away, is nowhere near the hook, the other 3 survivors just open the gate and leave, leaving me on a hook for helping them. I hate it to play selfish, but a lot of times when i dont, i get really angry because such thinks happen in solo queue time and again. So yes, i wont do it the next couple of games, until i get a game with decent survivors and feel bad for not helping them.

I had this deathslinger who chased me the last 4 gens and got me at the end only because of noed, he was playing really poorly but he felt good nodding and facecamping me while my solo q teammates were waiting in the gates instead of looking for the goddamn hex totem and save me. I couldn't even do bones myself, carried my teammates while they did the last 4 gens and the killer gets rewarded anyways.
To be fair, if you can run him for 4 gens, you are at a different skill level than he is, and you never should be playing against one another.
But as long as games are that unbalanced, things like noed are actually needed in my opinion.
-
I doubt that is a good idea. right now, you can disable the fog due to your graphic settings, so only ppls playing on higher settings are actually affacted by it. That leads to a disadvantage if you use the "better" settings. I doubt weather would be any different.
-
exactly. Or if you come to terms with it having just unbalanced matches.

i only played the original when it came out, but it was so much weaker then both his prequels, its the only part of the series i only played once.

They explicitly use a lower rank survivor account to get lower rank killers. That is exploiting. The problem is the proof, and even if they admit to it in the postgame chat, noone cares.

People suicide versing stupid/broken mechanics.
Not everyone plays for bullying.
So, you mean a killer in the game is broken, right? Because i have seen dcs against EVERY killer in the game. Yes, not every one dcs against all killers, just against the one he selected, but as a whole every killer get those dcs, and by your argument, thats because killers are stupid and/or broken.
Maybe just leave the game then?
-
While i was playing killer, i meet at least 3 groups of red rank survivors playing with a lvl 18 or so survivor, that told me after the game (usually because i camped and tunneld them when i found them that well coordinated) that he was actually was another red rank survivor on a smurf account. Yes, this matchmaking is exploited on purpose, and its an exploit the devs dont care about.
So many reasons not to play killer anymore...
-
I dont get the blow-keyword in conjunktion with RE. Can you explain?
So far it could as well be the STARship Nostromo that travels between STARS and BLOW when Rippley needed to get rid of it.
-
I want to add something to my comment: I am willing to farm sometimes (and even help the killer to farm if i suspect he tries it) challenges during the first days after a new rift-thing happens. Some of these challenges are quite hard, and i try to be kind to my fellow gamers. I even let myself kill if it was clear he was going for some of those harder achivements.
