Hook struggle is mouse down instead of Space. Rest are default.

Monto, No0b3 (I miss him), and JRM. Because I am a survivor main, I tend to like those who play more survivor like No0b3, and JRM. That said...Sattelizer has also grown on me.
What happened to No0b3?

I’m not new to the game and I completely agree that the grind is really bad. I don’t have friends who play DbD so I do everything solo. It’s really frustrating at times. The grind was worse before but it’s currently still pretty bad.

I play solo buddy
You said all you do is camp pallets while your partner rushes gens. If this is true then you’ve been going against really bad killers. Lol.

I just had a match there. I hate it.

MMR system working great ! :)
How many matches have you played. I want to know why’s it working for some while others it’s clearly not working?? It’s still not working for me properly.

Def working as intended. These were 3 games back-to-back out of the 10 I played this morning.
Roughly how many games have you played since the new MMR system went live?

I'm sorry that you had this experience, it's obviously not the type of experience that we want our players to have in their early games.
The new MMR system went live a few days ago, it's obviously going to take some time to get the system to where we want it to be - but I appreciate that's not what people want to hear right now.
All I can do is assure you the Developers are receiving this feedback and that I sincerely hope these mismatched games will soon be a thing of the past.
We were told that you guys are aware that some aspects of the new MMR system is not working properly. Hopefully this gets fixed ASAP because it’s pushing a lot of players away.

Oh my God here we go again with all these few people thinking it is FUNNY that I can't watch dbd YouTubers cuss but I know it doesn't make sense to me because I listen to rappers who do cuss slot ( Nle Choppa, DaBaby, Lil mosey, NBA Youngboy etc.) So yes y'all think it is funny that I'm doing this . And yes they do know I'm playing dbd because the PS4 is in the living room!
Hey. If your parents don't want you watching YouTubers who swear then don't. Nothing wrong with that. I just find it odd that you can play DbD, that's all.

@Redmore_Trout said:
If I'm not mistaken, there is a way to check in game which player is playing which survivor. Does anyone know how?
Like the other person said, just hit Esc key and you will see which characters each player is using.
-
Do your parents know you're playing DbD? I'm assuming the answer is no. lol
-
Hopefully it’s Spirit.
-
Yeah I still don't know how the emblem system works exactly. I sometimes don't pip even if I've played well (eg. did objectives/escaped, 3k, etc.). And other times I do. They need to rework the emblem system.

For me is too easy to play as a survivor, the only thing I have to do is Camp palets while my partners rushing gens , or rushings gens while my partners camp palets... rank 3 in 35 hours ... It was too easy
How about you try playing solo queue survivor before saying such things?

I was trying to be encouraging. 😕
Are you serious? Saying "gg kids" is not encouraging at all. You could've just said "gg" and that's it. Or maybe just not say anything at all. That would've been better.
-
Next time you want to be angry at someone for this matchmaking then be angry at the devs. Not at these new players. They're not to blame.
-
I don't know but I think consoles should get a post-game chat.

@luvcraft said:
OMG this match. I strung them out as long as I could, and my heart broke a little every time one died before getting unhooked. No gens were repaired, and I dunked the last one. I can only presume they were all COMPLETELY new. :(
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PADOGWYZSZ3U/20200804222024-1.jpg
As you can see I've stopped using add-ons, and I'm gonna have to stop running Dying Light so these poor kids can at least get a few gens done.
Was the "gg kids!" really necessary?
-
Makes me sad that some of these new players will just stop playing because of this unfair matchmaking. We don’t want to lose players because of this. And I’m sure most of them will just quit before getting to play around 10 matches for their MMR to settle.

Personally i like the new matchmaking. I do hope BHVR decides to hide the ranks.
I know people have issues with this but all it does is cause drama.
Agreed. There’s no point in keeping the ranks visible since ranks don’t mean anything now with the new MMR system and it’s just causing more issues. @MandyTalk @Almo Will you guys be hiding the ranks down the road? Doesn’t make sense keeping them.

@dastru said:
Im getting matches way faster than before, this change may not be the best but at least it will be helpful saving us time to complete the rift
Lol maybe this means the game doesn't even take time to check other players, if they are similar MMR or not. I think the game just matches you with anyone and everyone that's why most of us are experiencing faster queue times.
-
So many players want a training mode (including myself) and I'm sure the devs are aware, it's been requested a lot. Hopefully soon.

I haven’t been able to play killer yet because queues are upwards of 15 minutes, I’ve stopped trying.
My queues as survivor are short but I keep getting placed with people who have between 0 and 50 hours in the game and play accordingly. I think I’ve only played one match so far that felt fair.
Exact same experience as me. Killer queue times are much longer for me now. Survivor queue times are almost instant but the matches are not balanced.

I'm not trying to sound pithy, but have you played other ranked games? You might've played all your qualifying matches, but the people you're up against might not have...
I mean I've played lots of early season games of ranked games (like Overwatch, etc.) where despite playing my qualifying games and getting plopped into my rank, I'll see other unranked players who are clearly still in the midst of their qualifier on my team (or the opposing team). It's not that unusual. I mean yeah, it sucks because sometimes you end up with potato teammates that drag you down, but other-times you get god-tier players who assist you.
New seasons always suck at first. And that's essentially what we're experiencing here. The difference is that this is an asymmetric game, so the effects are slightly different.
I really think the biggest issue is that we don't have any actual data telling us what our MMR ratings are, or how match performance affects it. There's zero transparency and that worries me more. I can deal with crappy matches for a little while if I know it'll improve. But I don't like being in the dark about it. They need to just delete ranks entirely if they aren't going to introduce an MMR rating.
I guess we all just have to wait a week or so until everyone does their placement matches then. It's just not fun at all that we have to stomp new players for it to start working properly. And it's not fair for new players to have to go against players who are more experienced but I hope eventually it ends up being worth it and starts working. Also yes having MMR hidden feels so wrong. It almost makes me think they did that so we have no way of knowing if it's actually working as intended or not and if it's not so they won't have to deal with it. I don't like saying that but I don't know, having it hidden is not right at all.
-
Yes of course it would be a good idea. We should've had a training mode years ago.

before the released it they say it was already added for a week but wasn't use for MM just to gather data how much data does it need?
It was added in the background for a few months not even a week.

And like Almo said, Mandy was talking about from the start of its calculations (meaning when it was first enabled in the background).
Dude, most of us have already played way more than 10 matches already and it still sucks.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1508306#Comment_1508306
Where's the contradiction?
Mandy: Everyone needs to play around 10 matches for the MMR to settle.
Almo: MMR does not start at default which means MMR will start working right away for players who have been playing for a while since the MMR algorithm was working in the background collecting data for a while now. Only new accounts need to play 10 matches.
-
@Almo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1506580#Comment_1506580
Mandy was right; she was talking about how long from starting its calculations. It's been working in the background for a while. But if your last games were before that started, and you come back now, it's 10 games for it to settle.
I just want to remind you what you said a few days back...

If they tell everyone how it work, then everyone will abuse it. It's what happened to the emblem system they used to use.
They should at least give us accurate information! One dev says everyone will have to play 10 matches in order for their MMR to settle while another dev is saying only new accounts will have to play 10 matches while old accounts and players who have been playing for a while will not have their MMR start at default, instead their MMR will work for them as soon as the system goes live because the MMR algorithm was in the background for some time getting all the data needed. However this does not seem to be the case because the new MMR is not working correctly even for players with 1000+ hours. And even after playing more than 10 matches it is still not working correctly.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1506484#Comment_1506484
I see. So what I’m getting (and feel free to interfere/correct me, the general gist of things is that in order for the MMR system to be accurate (new or experienced) players have to play at least 10 matches. However, new players are doing placement matches to build up their data/skill so they can possibly climb, as to experience players are doing matches that adjust your rating based on the data/skill level that is already in the system. I may be wrong, as it is a little confusing because the statements kinda collide and contradict each other but I believe that’s what they’re trying to get at here.
According to Almo, only new accounts have to play 10 matches for their MMR to settle. Mandy says otherwise, she says all of us have to play 10 matches doesn’t matter if account is new or not. That’s why it’s confusing, because even the devs are contradicting themselves.

I missed the joke.
It’s just that we don’t know who is right or what to believe. Everything about this new MMR system is vague.
Mandy says: “It's going to take a few matches before things start to even out. Please don't go by the player ranks in the tally screen because they are not indicative of a players MMR. I can confirm that it should take around 10 matches before it starts to even out and the system will then be able to assess the correct MMR score.”
Almo said: “I can confirm, your MMR will not start at a default if you've already been playing, since MMR has already been running in the background though it's not been used to create matches. If you have a new account, it will start at a default, and it settles after about 10 games.”
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/177502/when-mmr-starts-will-we-all-be-at-zero/p1
So as you can see, even the devs aren’t giving accurate info.
-
@C_Frank said:
I can not believe it.
Now the new system is worse.
The only explanation that I find is that nobody has mmr and you can get together with any player.
That’s what it looks like. Maybe that’s why matchmaking is faster also :\

You wasted your time. The devs will never answer these questions.

Sorry but you guys have not been clear with us regarding the new MMR system and how it will work. If you see my comment above you will see Almo's response and he said that it will take around 10 matches for NEW accounts only. For old accounts and players who have been playing before it should start working for them as soon as the new MMR system goes live. We don't know what to believe. So far players with over 2000 hours have been playing against new players with less than 50 hours. How does that make sense? Can you please explain?
-
@jisp3r said:
Everyone saying it's trash after 5 matches when dev said it takes at least 10 to balance your rating... Good job!
This is only for new accounts! You need to read the dev's comment again. They said if you have been playing before then it does not start at default and the new MMR system should already be working for you right away (for a lot of players it's not).

To those asking why they had to change the auras, here’s their explanation...
Q: Why change the auras?
The auras were the source of quite a few technical headaches. The rework of the aura system was intended to give our programming teams cleaner code and a more stable aura system. Unfortunately, this had some unintended side effects on visibility. We heard your feedback and are working to improve their visibility. We will have a temporary fix in place shortly as we continue to work on a more permanent solution.

Moris need reworking and at least we got confirmation recently from one of the devs that they’ll be reworking moris (and keys). New game modes, yes we definitely need new game modes. I’d love that a lot. Four years with no new modes is unacceptable and makes the game stale imo (we don’t even have a training mode, like ######### lol). As for rank rewards, I remember them saying they will implement them but that was a while ago. I don’t know what happened.
