Not sure about the lore but I think my perks would be:
Occult Knowledge: Your study of the strange, and macabre has tempered your nerves. When more than x, y, or z yards away from an active hex totem, the totem does not affect you. If you were the first on the generator, Ruin does not activate, however if someone else touch the generator Ruin, will tick down progression when they leave the generator. Devour Hope, and NOED do not put you immediately into the dying state, instead you are put into the broken state for 80/70/60 seconds. The broken state caused by Occult Knowledge can only occur once per match.
Intuition: You sense the Entity has blessed the killer with aid. You know how many hex totems are on the map (rank 1), and what aid the killer is receiving (rank 3). Hex totems that need to have actions occur to proc the totem are not revealed to the survivor until they are activated.
Heightened Sense: You feel as if you understand the motivations of the killer. When the killer is chasing another survivor, you gain increased movement speed. The speed is lost once the killer begins chasing you. This will cause you to be the obsession.
A few other ideas I had were:
Leaden: Your stubbornness to succumb weighs on your opponent. You concentrate your weight in a way that slows down the killer's movement speed by 2%/3%/4% when trying to hook you.
Buck: Your body reacts to the pain of the hook. When hooked, your body bucks and you kick the killer momentarily stunning them for 1/1.5/2 seconds. This counts as an exhaustion perk, and has a cold down of 80/70/60 seconds.
Slide tackle: Sometimes, you have to go low... While in running speed, press the action button to briefly slide. You are able to slide under thrown pallets. You are also able to slide into hex totems, decreasing the amount of time needed to cleanse by 10%/20%/30%. This counts as an exhaustion perk, and has a cool down of 80/70/60 seconds.
I'd love to see a Tackle perk, where you throw the killer on the ground just for the lawls.

Sorry to hijack your thread a bit, I didn't want to start a new thread, nor did I want to necro an older post. I've been giving it a go to see the difference between play styles, and it is pretty stark.
Now, this is coming from a survivor perspective as I don't play killer...PC survivor players do seem to be better at the altruistic, and bold aspects of the game, while console players seem to crouch around the map, and freeze the second they hear a heart beat. It's quite sad actually. The second a gen explodes, and off they run! It appears to be 50/50 I see with gen completion, and out running the killer. It also appears that when a console player finds the PC survivor in the match, they latch on to you like a leech.
Now, on to the killer... /sigh Now, I do not have much, or any love at all for the killer end of the game, but playing mixed system has given me a new appreciation(?) for PC killers. I have to say that I love my PC killers compared to what I have experienced from console. To put it nicely, PC killers are more fun, and fair compared to console killers. PC killers will actually engage in chases, and do objectives in a way that is fun. Console killers...I used to complain about slugging/camping/tunneling before mixed systems, and now it appears that the aforementioned complaints are the console killers play style. Its sad that dc-ing or suiciding on hook to leave the match is worth it to actually get a real game, instead of a staring contest. It is also sad that you can tell a PC versus a console killer within seconds of a chase.
I have a feeling I will be opting out shortly.
But to your point about chat boxes, why not turn them off, or give us the option to not see chat. Even if they don't get you in chat, there is the risk of them messaging your profile. I met quite the eloquent speaker (if you catch my drift) after a match that I out ran him. I made sure to change my profile back to private.

lol true is the most cry baby ever, everything is swf everyone opinion is wrong and he is the master mind of balance and everything
I like you. We should be friends. I keep waiting for someone in end game chat, or someone stream sniping him to tell him to put a shirt with sleeves on.

I mean, I don't blame you. This game is entirely new player unfriendly, and that was even before the (admittedly) busted MMR fiasco.
I have warned friends & family away from getting into this game since around the time Stranger Things released.
Like you, I had a friend who was VERY interested in this game. I had talked it up to him, and gave him some basic advice/explanations on things. He was going to wait to buy it, and learn survivor with me on a weekend we were both off. Well...he downloaded it, and tried playing.
The next time I saw him, he told me he was waiting for his refund from Steam...yeah.
I keep going back to the idea that certain features/perks/etc of the game need an overhaul. The list above is a good example. I'm having a hard time explaining it, but certain parts of the game feel disjointed, and that they work against each other.

I'm curious how many people have purchased the game through Steam, and have used the refund option.
I am by no means sympathetic to the killer side of this game as a salty, survivor main, but even I had to check myself after a match, and offer words of encouragement to a new killer. Poor Wraith was brand new, and only had two perks at level one. He ended up chasing a Meg for the whole match, when he did down her, we were able to body block enough to where he dropped her. Needless to say, we all escaped. The poor guy(?) was so upset because this was his second game, and he actually downed someone...and he couldn't even get a hook. I was the lowest ranked in high teens, and the other survivors were all red.
At least with the old system, it felt like there was some fairness in matches like this. Chances are, he would have faced me, and other lower ranked people, and actually was able to get a kill.

Macmillan, Crotus, and Coldwind are my top three. I WISH we could a put map or two on ignore. How I hate The Game, Hawkins, and Midwich! I want to like Midwich, but I feel like it is too much packed into one map. I feel like they could have easily made two maps out of it. It seems I like more of the outdoors maps, but I will say that Lery's has grown on me over time.
-
Monto, No0b3 (I miss him), and JRM. Because I am a survivor main, I tend to like those who play more survivor like No0b3, and JRM. That said...Sattelizer has also grown on me.
-
Doctors, and Bubbas tend to be pretty toxic when I go against them. I also imagine Bubba smells like warm, wet, ham lunch meat, so that makes him extra gross to me. Not a fan of Ghostface either. Freddy, Stretch Armstrong, needs those hitboxes fixed, or else Freddy is gonna dislocate his shoulder. Now this killer always gets me, and not for their attacks, bit for their model...the Pig. Watching her hunched over, and shuffling along looks unnatural to me. It makes my lower back hurt when I see her stalking around.

MMR is smurfing for us. All I seem to get is baby killers as survivor. The MM system is making the game boring as hell because of it.
I wish I had your luck. I decided to start over on a new account, and well...going against red ranks without any perks you like to use really hurts...

No One Escapes Skill need a re-work like many of the perks do. I am fine with the speed to the killer, but the Exposed status (when we have way more one shot wonders now than when the perk was put in) is a bit much. When I see a Myers, or Bubba with it...I can't help but think overkill. If it only applied to the obsession, I could live with that.
From a survivor stand point, it encourages lazy play on the killer. I get that some people are new, and learning, but they shouldn't have to rely on one perk to get them a kill. I get it that there are matches both sides get way out played...it happens. But for a killer to need to rely on a perk, rather than take a loss...and people call survivors entitled.

I absolutely hate the new system. Majority of my matches have been more than frustrating. I'm glad the penalty for leaving has temporarily been removed!
I would like to understand this "skill factor," that they are talking about. If I am completing two gens, getting a few saves, and escaping the killer, why am I being placed with another player that spends majority of their time in a locker, or exploding generators? Are people purposely trying to down rank? I understand there is no perfect system to balancing a game, but was the old system that bad? I enjoyed my matches with a close 50/50 ratio with the old system.
I don't want to be too critical of this change, but I have not enjoyed the game since this change went live.
