Imo, this game was survivor-sided until the last nerf on Dead Hard, so 7 years would be more accurate.
eruption was stronger than 6.1 DH.

I don't know how they didn't change that power to something more interactive. One of the biggest things people complained in the past events was that power because it takes nothing to earn the hit/down. Even playing as killer feels busted, but overall great event I'm loving it so far.
Most of the complaints I heard about last year was the bloodlust 1 instant down. A lot of players was even asking for the remote breaking pallet & party pallet abilities to be made into a token base perk. Most of the abilities was well received last year so I'm not shock they came back.

Both get plenty so it don't matter

Playing as both roles is so much fun!!!!
Like the abilitys are awesome, make new pallets as survivor or hook a survivor by clicking one button is awesome.
I know a lot of people aren't going to like this event but I think this is a lot of fun and the great thing about it is if you don't like it okay the normal mode!! That way everybody's happy.
behavior events are usually goated. The void event, last anniversary, even the simple snow ball throwing one. The new abilities always give the trails a desperately needed shake up. Unlimited blood points on top of that! "pretty good job so far" damn right

Its necessary put an end to the genrush, specially with the genrush builds, there people who don´t care about having fun, they just want to repair and leave as soon as posible. I know what are they are going to tell me "the objetive of the survivors is repair the 5 generators and escape" of course, but this types of builds promotes toxicity, it does not contribute anything good for the game or for the DBD community.
BHVR please create a system that does not allow combined these perks or directly eliminate them, all the anti genrush perks received a nerf but the survi genrush perks did not receive any changes.

"all the anti genrush perks received a nerf but the survi genrush perks did not receive any changes."
That's because survivors rarely use them. hyper focus and stake out can be absurdly powerful but no one use it due to how difficult it can be to get vaule. Hyper focus/stake out only good once u hit 6 stacks.… you even a god and rarely miss a skill check or the perk does barely nothing. You can't convince the devs to nerf perks with nearly no usage.
Built to last and street wise should get nerf (just BUILT mainly). This with a 32 charge toolbox is just nasty work.
Outside resilience, prove & deja vu no gen rush perk get use much. Prove been nerf and Deja vu increase is minor. Resilience shouldn't be cheese-able by 99ing a heal but that about it.

What?
"As I say in the title, this event is more made for killers, this game has never been so murderous before, it is too difficult to escape at least 2 games of 20 moves, not only me but the statistics shared by BHVR say so of 60% murderer against a 35/40 survivor, and now the event objects for example speed now make the murderers super broken apart from the fact that they were already broken before now it is completely unplayable, I have 4000 hours in and it doesn't seem to me That this is balanced as they say BHVR is, unfortunately every day this game becomes more complicated and more murderous, A SHAME"

slowdowns are not just give you time for cover up your mistake, but also giving you more hook/kill if you dont make mistake.
And by the game design, the longer the game, the weaker survivors are. Both of you arent able to get a hook, and survivors arent able to get a Gen done, you dont not lose anything, but survivors lose a few pallets, depleted items, one time used perks .ect. You already have an upper hand.
Thats why slowdown never go off meta, even if nerfed.
I can see why people constantly asking for chaos Shuffle to come back. Slowdown and chase extenders is all u see perk wise.
-
I'm hope they bring back party pallets and instant break pallet ability.

Look, to balance it out I will run Lightborn with Shadowborn okay?i can sleep peacefully now.
-
you know what's better than waiting for a 15 sec song to play out? survivors getting immediately on gens...
that 1% to 2% skill check boost isn't gonna do anything. The perk not trash but it not good either. I can see you getting value in a 3 gen or a double heal scenario. Most of the time it just not wroth standing around for.

This will sadly not be the case. Stacked Slowdown is still the best Build on all Killers.
But I totally agree this should not be a thing. Builds should be more tailored to the Killer and not just one best Build which works on every Killer without fail.
Things would definitely be far more interesting with no go to meta but yeah slowdowns will likely always be the best build
-
Hopefully no more 1 fit all meta builds period. Builds should be tailor to there killer strengths
-
that sound like a terrible build honestly. B

There are some ultra rare addons that are really bad currently, but what do you think is the absolute worst?
I have a few contenders, and I'm gonna go against the grain and not put Waterlogged Shoe among them:
Knight's Contract:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/N7DZZV6QPBC2/image.png
I've tried, but this addon simply doesn't do anything. You lose a lot of distance placing a guard and it's pretty much impossible to catch up in 8 seconds. If it was something like 30s it'd be decent, but it being on every fourth guard would still make it restrictive. It needs a sound cue when it activates too.
Expired Batteries:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/L3XTC7FC2YUE/image.png
This is a huge debuff for what is essentially a very minor buff. I remember seeing the numbers run on this addon and the buff is barely even noticeable.
I'd opt for a full rework for this one personally, as tweaking Haste values can be dangerous.
Redhead's Pinky Finger:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BNA2AHB08UNA/image.png
Oh how the mighty have fallen…
This addon has been nerfed to the point where it isn't really useable anymore. What it really needed was a full rework. Make it give Invigorated Survivors Exposed or something, I don't know.
Iridescent Videotape:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0GWSVXUP5RBW/image.png
Disabling a whole part of your power, AND getting another debuff… I'd say get rid of the TV turn on time debuff since you lose a pretty significant part of your power just by running this addon.
Hellshire Iron:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A62ZQUNI30FO/image.png
Factoring in the post-hit cooldown and reload time, you're left with about 5 seconds of Undetectable. The Aura reading effect it used to have was way better.
Obsidian Goblet:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FC6W7N2C17UD/image.png
Like, c'mon, it doesn't even give you undetectable while charging Rites of Judgement. Give it a few seconds of lingering time and make it activate when holding your power and you're golden.
Which Ultra Rare addon would you pick as the worst? It doesn't even have to be on this list, I'm just highlighting some good contenders.
All the instant down addons are bad but can give u vaule when camping. Skull Merchant and sadako addons hinder u more than running nothing but at least get something for it. Pyramid head sitting on his trails is so silly 🤣🤣. Insidious in a form of addon is still u guess it bad....
Slinger addon actually do completely nothing at all. 10 seconds isn't enough time to branch off to someone else. You basically chasing someone who know u there undetectable for 10 seconds. Not to mention the time it take to reload. Slinger got the weakest addon here
-
In my experience it still good on high mobility/teleportation killers. Definitely took a hard nerf but still a pretty good perk
-
To give false hope of survival that the entity can feed off of.
-
on average once every 10 games about. I don't use regression or tactics much so that probably why. Some killers more likely to get a DC than others of course. Knight i average 3 out 10, i play pig can go 20 games without one. My survivor experience is 3 to 4 dc/suicide every 10 games (most of them on first hook)

Thats also the one that has me scared.
Alex's toolbox already had very limited counterplay. 100% seems waaay too overtuned to me.
I'm just hoping that it does not become too common.
"I'm just hoping that it does not become too common". Ftp/buckle up was broken and most players still wasn't using it. Hopefully that the case here as well. Obviously some swf's will make it impossible to ever hook anybody ever with this

Okay but seriously unforeseen is kinda busted, especially on high mobility killers.
honestly i think the perk is kinda BS but it not exactly op. It just extremely cheesy on some killers. Wall hack irl plague love running it for auto dubs in my experience. It just absurd that u can be undetectable whenever u want. I don't personally use much slow down but i thought pain res/pop was alright. Tunneling the real issue and it never get properly balance

Scavenger barely save u anything on the gen. Even with the best toolbox addons combination. 30 seconds of -50% repair speed was overkill. It no reason to run it even in the best case scenario over built. This perk falls underneath the potential energy category as it could be detrimental to even use

What is it about Dead by Daylight that resonates with you?
For me it was playing as my favorite horror villains. For survivor it was the heart pumping feeling i use to get. The more hours u go the less fearful u become of the killer and the nostalgia of playing certain killers go away. Mind gaming and looping is what i find most enjoyable now. I know a very generic answer but no other game really fulfill that itch.
@Herlnfernal pressing E a instant dopamine rush🤭🤭 probably my favorite thing to do in any games. Especially when they waited forever and you still get it off

Edit: typo.
just got done playing 72 matches of survivor in the last 2 days. Had over 25 matches where someone went afk, dc, or suicide. I did not count any of the matches where people gave up when it was clearly over. This mode have been consistently unplayable for me.

Just for fun I made a map tier list, and am curious what other people think of the current map situation in DBD. Personally, I think BHVR has improved a lot when it comes to map balance and design, with far more maps being very well balanced and fair. Of course there still have been some misssteps, like the new reworked Haddonfield, that is definitely too killer sided. But in general, BHVR has been doing a fine job with map balance, even if not all of the balanced maps are balanced in an ideal way in my opinion.
So the following is my tier list:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7NP5D2BDVA59/map-tier-list.png
There are a few things to note here.
Within one tier, the further right a map is, the more survivor sided it is, the further left, the more killer sided it is. However there generally aren't big differences within a tier.
Also, this is judging the average version of each map. I am aware that RNG can sometimes tilt a map towards one side a bit, but this is more about maps with their average rng.
And this map balance tier list is also generally considering a good killer player against a good survivor team, with the killer that is being played being A tier, or possibly B tier. So no low tier killers, or broken killers like Nurse.
A few extra notes on certain maps: I have seen some people say that the Coldwin maps lean towards killer now, but except for Rancid Abattoir, I couldn't disagree more. I think they are generally well balanced. Torment Creek is balanced for the wrong reasons, being very big, but having quite large deadzones. On the other hand, Fractured Cowshed is now one of the very best maps in the game in my opinion.
Azarov's Resting Place is also a killer sided map in my eyes, because as a killer you can just split the map pretty much in half and easily defend that half of the map. And I consider Grim Pantry slightly killer sided because 6 of the 7 gens spawn on one side of the map pretty much, with only 1 gen spawning on the pantry.
But as I said, I am curious what other people think of the current maps in DBD.
pretty solid list
i would put rancid abattoir and sanctum in the killer favor section. Both of them maps have extremely weak building with low amount of resources. i would move gas heaven to slightly favor survivor and eyrie definitely still clearly survivor sided
-
dbd is my goat game and that the only reason i stay. 1/3 of my survivor games are (people giving up, afk, early suicides) aka an auto L for the team. Any other game i would've been quit if nearly a third of my matches was unplayable. Every rank rest is the same for me.... play killer to Irl1 and switch to survivor hoping the mentality of players magically change. Nope! they still giving up
-
@Riski said:
I feel like this happens every few years where the definition of stuff like gen rush, tunneling and camping start to loose meaning in rage posts and discussion threads. This has resulted in gen rushing in particular meaning anything. 3 gens pop at once, gen rushing. Game over in 5 mins, gen rushing. Bring toolboxes or gen progression perks, gen rushing. Not healing all match and then getting 4 adrens, gen rushing.
To me gen rushing is min maxing generator progression, progressing generators while doing as little of anything else as you need to that could help in your survival of the match. That last part basically means I don't think people doing gens instead of clensing dull totems or opening chest when they already have items is gen rushing, but doing gens over helping teammates or healing can be considered gen rushing. I don't consider having good toolboxes, perks or doing generators quickly when not pressured because the killer is on a 2 minute chase gen rushing.
I don't think gen rushing is an issue inherently and it should be seen as another stratergy which, although sometimes unfun to play against, is as fair and valid as the rest, like tunneling and camping, and people shouldn't be shamed or judge for using these tactic.
4 competence survivors
-
This program gonna save them a lot of money and time. Hopefully they stay away from any egregiously bias players who only looking to better their role.
-
i learn that most players look regular without chase extenders and regression.

they made a thread that DS should stun for 10sec. Probably not joking

I am on the boat that it should stay at 5 seconds and make it so killers can't use their M2 for few seconds.
And maybe instead of deactivating in the endgame, it could when someone else gets hooked?
The problem with the hook deactivation suggestions is trading. People will just camp more to hook trade in order to avoid ds.

In theory, Devs aiming for 60% kill rate, mean any balancing would still goes around 60%. But its not simple as how you think it is.
Currently, tunneling with stack slowdowns is still by far, alot more effective and mind numbing to play than using other perks that require specific play style, macro, time management, spread pressure.
Devs buffing killers alot to make the later play style easier to perform, a way to encourage killers to play the later play style. And survivors are quite okay with it.
Except you cant stop killers using the insane buff to keep tunneling and stack slowdowns, this is where average survivors dont even have a chance against average killers.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3726752#Comment_3726752
I heard that games with a DC doesnt count into the stats. The only games counted are suicide on first hook when there is at least 50% chance to power Gates.
Otherwise, I dont see a survivor suicide on 2nd hook when killers get 8 hooks with 4 Gens remaining would affect the kill rate. The game ends in 3K and hatch escape either they stay or suicide.
I was more so saying i agree with the op that the DC's shouldn't count toward the stats. My main problem is the stats don't actually reflect the solo q experience at ALL. You can go 4-11 with 5 dc's. You can subtract all these DC'S Matches and u may end up 4-6 (which is exactly their aim). People often quit when they losing and all these matches just getting toss out the window. My solo q experience have been endless matches of people giving up. Some say they rarely get DC's but when i play it quite common place
-
wesker or chucky before the upcoming nerf. They both good but not oppressive in anyway in my opinion.

In my experience dc's aren't very common, unless the match was kind of lost anyways. Hook suicides are more common for me at least. Though of course I do get the occasional dc as well.
However, especially when talking about balance, I don't think it makes sense to consider these matches in any way or form. Not to mention that killers dc sometimes as well.
i get 3 DC's every 10 games on average. It shouldn't be included in the stats but u can see why the 40% average win rate don't hold up from my point of view.
-
Gen defense is more important than things to help in survivors in chase. U literally win matches off pop/pain res. windows, SB, DH, lithe, etc these strong chase perks isn't mandatory. Outside of DS no survivor perk is mandator to run to win. I'm assuming everyone win rate higher as survivor. My survivor rate up to 45% from 30% and my kill rate still sit around 80% (i rarely use gen defense when playing killers normally anyway). I don't won't go back to normal solo q ever tbh
-
@ad19970 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3726416#Comment_3726416
That really isn't "lucky" considering that's the average escape rate.
It really is. Once you actually play solo Q for a couple days you realize quickly that the win rate is below the 40% mark. The devs just exclude DC's but it no reason for me as player to. These matches was L's and most of time players DC when losing. No these matches did not magically get erase form my mind so I'm not excluding them for my status. I went through the experience! why wouldn't i count these matches.
