I doubt that's reportable, I know several extremely competitive "I'm one of the 0.001% top survivors in the world, look at my escape streak record" streamers who do exactly that basically every single game - they have their full loadout dedicated to emergency escape (Sole Survivor + Wake Up + Clairvoyance + one more, often Distortion to avoid aura reading).
At the slightest sign of trouble, they go into a map corner and repeatedly drop their item repeatedly to avoid crows and wait until everyone's dead, then they go for hatch/gates. They usually sell this as "optimal solo build and gameplay". It's super boring to watch.
If it was reportable they'd probably already be banned considering how often they do that on stream. Btw, the playstyle you describe is exactly why I hate that the game forces me to play with extremely competitive players.

It would be better to design the game so that it can’t be so completely pointless to keep on playing because the outcome is already clear shortly after the start of the match, or balance the game so that you can’t run into endless loss streaks (particularly speaking about solo queue here) because the occasional bad match is unavoidable and should be fine, it is the sheer amount of them that’s the problem (for me at least). But that’s not going to happen so I would support this idea.
Yesterday I had a match with a tombstone Myers who removed someone from the match with 5 gens left. Other than me nobody had touched a gen yet. I tried to spam a vault to let him kill me and get out, but he just wanted to stalk, obviously, and then left me, so I had to DC to get into another match quickly which I normally never do. Would have been awesome to have a surrender option instead.
Wouldn’t even mind if that would count as a mori for the killer if he brings tombstone, I don’t want to cheat the killer out of potential achievement/challenge progress, I just want to get into a fair match quicker.

Maybe once every few months, but that may be because I don't care about hatch at all and wouldn't even look for it if I was the last survivor. Too much RNG and no MMR increase, so I don't bother. Therefore if it's down to two survivors, I will usually let the killer find me and then kill me on hook so that the other survivor has a chance to find hatch (unless there's a chance we get the last gen done).
Last time I was given hatch was ... a month ago? It was another PlayStation player. We played together two years ago (not SWF) and he messaged me after the match. He probably checked my profile in lobby and found the old messages.
Before that? A Blight, probably 4-5 months back, maybe even longer. I was the only one doing gens and my three teammates were constantly swarming round the killer and unhooking right in his face and I couldn't even finish two gens before two teammates were dead already. I vault spammed to draw attention on me and pointed at a hook because I wanted out of that game. He slugged me, killed the other of the I assume 3SWF and then picked and dropped me until I was back on my feet and we had a fun little chase (was kind of sad my teammates ruined the match, would sure have been great) and he let me jump into hatch.

Whilst the testing is finished, the analysis of the data and the feedback is ongoing. When a decision is finalised we will definitely let you know.
I would really like to know what the devs' reasons are that they want prestige shown in lobby so badly that it needs data analysis to make a decision to remove it. It is not meant to be a measure of skill yet its presence suggests that it is information given to the other players to make a decision whether to shop another lobby, or in the case of the killer whether to run a sweaty or chill build. So what's the value of showing it?
Lobbies have been extremely stressful the last few days. I am one of the people who lobby dodge if I see P0 survivors in base outfit in the lobby as my teammates because I don't want to play with newbies and the game fairly often matches me with people having 16-50 hours in the game, probably because I lose 90+% of my matches because I only play solo.
Unfortunately, a lot of people hide their prestige exactly by appearing as some P0 character in default clothes and last-second switch to their favorite high prestige character.
Now the problem for me is that I never know whether I should leave the lobby or if they'll last-second switch. Happened frequently that I leave the lobby exactly in the moment they switch characters but then it's too late and I need to search another lobby and they need to wait for another player to be put into the lobby and the timer restarts at 60 seconds ...
-
I'd love to see more help for solo survivors. The best they could do at this point would be that survivors in the lobby could vote to stay together after the match ... and after two or three games together can exchange contact details (Discord) if they still want to play together. (I don't have chat since I am on PlayStation so I can't get in touch with others that way).
-
So far I've played four matches in the event and two of them ended with server crashes so I guess that's a yes.
-
Jeff and Claudette ...
Jeff because he reminds me of the guys who used to run my local record store back then, who always had good music playing and who knew my music taste and recommended me stuff I like better than any algorithm does. The only male character in DbD I'd like to hang out with IRL.
Claudette was the survivor I discovered the game with, went through a lot together with her. Won't forget that. She therefore has the most complete inventory full of memories, including retired offerings (brown maps, moonlight).

That is only true when you are in a SWF squad. If you are SoloQ, it would only count your escape, hatch, or death for your MMR rating.
https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Skill-Based_Matchmaking_Rating#Team-based_MMR
So, if you can't build MMR while SoloQueuing, it's on you.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3548220#Comment_3548220
Wish granted. Just try to not let any potatoes in your squad when you are in SWF and you are good.
Is there any official source for the claims on team-based MMR only being applied to SWF?
I read the original articles/news on team-based MMR from BHVR and I didn't read anything about this being specific to SWF. Rather, they say they want to encourage teamplay rather than selfish play. I doubt there needs to be any encouragement for teamplay in an SWF.
Also, the whole reason this was implemented is that some people complained that they looped the killer for five gens, got facecamped and were the only one who lost MMR though they did single-handedly win the game for their team. This is absolutely not an SWF-specific problem. Most likely the people who complained were not even SWF players, I doubt I would care about my MMR dropping if I was with reliable SWF friends.
I would really like to know if it is an SWF-specific thing. The wiki is an "official wiki" but I'm not sure this means that every word is signed off by the devs as being true.

Hillbilly, both to play as and against.
I just like his aggressive playstyle and how I can just go hunting with him like a madman, no "power build up" or stealth or complicated multi-part power, just go after those survivors with the chainsaw.
Many Billy mains also tend to be rather chill players. Had multiple cases when other survivors gave up early that the Billy practiced sawing around particular loops with the remaining two of us. Always having fun in Billy chases and never mind dying to one, even when it's a bad day.
I'm not too much into killer outfits, but I like his Rabbit Season and Sunday Slaughter outfits.

For me personally, let's say 2/10. Mainly because I play solo queue. I did play a lot these days to finish the rift and almost got mad. The main reason I still call it 2/10 is that the next mid chapter patch will almost certainly have new survivor nerfs such as the healing nerf that will again affect solo queue the most and I need room to go lower then.
Main issue is the MMR which - if you sink as low as I did - guarantees most games being basically decided in the lobby with no hope of ever leaving the bottom of the pit. And this remains the same, taking breaks doesn't change MMR and right the first match after a break (which used to be a breath of fresh air with emblem ranking) instantly reminds me again of why I had to take a break.
I honestly wouldn't mind being at low MMR, all those nerfs and being matched with teammates who make dumb mistakes or don't perform as I wish, as long as BHVR would ensure we'd get matched with killers that the group the matchmaker puts together still has some remote chance of winning.
Again, that's it for me. Overall, the game is much better if somebody plays with friends who are reliable or all just want to have fun and try being super altruistic and don't mind dying over and over. Killer is also very enjoyable, but I don't like to play it at the moment because I don't want to kill anyone because I'm projecting my own frustrations into the survivors in my lobby and don't want to be that guy who kills them for the 100th time in a row when they finally want to escape once.
-
Don't know who uses "Left Behind" other than certain streamers for "omg I'm the best survivor worldwide" escape streaks where they just hide all match and let their teammates die to get hatch or gate (with Wake Up) to up the streak counter.
Keys? Last time I've seen one brought into the match must have been 2021 or so.
The killer can roam the map freely, the survivor has to avoid getting spotted.
If there's anything wrong with hatch it is that I'm punished for trying to still play and work on gens in a 2 vs 1 rather than hiding. Back with emblems, I could let the other player hide, work on a gen, have a chase with the killer after getting spotted, and build up some lightbringer and evader emblems with this to rank up and get better teammates so I wouldn't need hatch. The person hiding wouldn't.
If I keep playing now and the other guy is hiding, I have a guaranteed MMR loss and 2 vs 1s with hiding mates more often while the other player has a chance of getting out of the match with no MMR change or even MMR increase if he manages to open the gates after killer closes hatch for doing absolutely nothing.
-
Besides using the mentioned auto-upload to the PS app you can also just copy them to an USB drive (slightly less convenient maybe but higher quality).
-
I don't always dodge, but sometimes. P100's are often targeted by killers and camped and tunneled out of the game. Those games then basically turn into something unwinnable for the whole team just because the killer wanted to boast he was able to get somebody out of the game asap who was soooo much "better" (meaning much higher prestige ...). When that happens a few times, I start dodging the P100's.
Other than that, I will always dodge if the killer leaves so it becomes a backfill lobby. If the killer dodges because of a P100, I dodge too, but not because of the P100 but because of backfill.
-
Then show killer prestige in lobby as well. I'm tired of playing against P100 huntresses who hit every snipe from across the map and P100 blights who do the craziest turns when I'm just an average player and the teammates I get are average, too. I also want the luxury of lobby shopping.
-
For the vast majority of players there'll be better and worse players around. Has very little to do with time. There's a reason why the matchmaking isn't based on hours played. I've played for far more than 250 hours and I'm still not really great.
Chase isn't everything. If you can touch a gen instead of crawling around the map, you're already better than 80% of my average teammates and better than 95% of my teammates today.
For solo survivors I don't even see a point of getting good at the game. Your teammates won't magically get good because you are, and if you're running a killer for awhile but nobody's doing gens and then everything goes to ######### in seconds once the killer leaves you alone and it's the 5th 4k at 5 gens for the killer in a row, it's not fun at all to lose against so much worse players, at least for me. The killer has to be very bad for you to be good enough to carry all of your teammates.
-
To answer the question from the title: you help keeping kill rates up and get no thanks for it from BHVR.
As for your "example of the opposite", I am getting these games as well, and I have the scary feeling that these are the games where the matchmaking system is proud that it was able to come up with a "perfectly balanced" match. Which is why I'd love to see some kind of indicator of matchmaking balance after the match.
I lose the vast majority of matches in solo queue, so I think I should be bottom MMR and really face those bad killers - indeed I do (mostly, I can't believe there are too many killers out there at this low MMR), the problem is simply that often, my teammates are even worse than the killer (actually one bad player who is out of the game before the first gen is done because nobody except me is working on one is enough).
Now I can't believe I'm the only one in this position. If the game matches four experienced solo players who have been undeservedly pushed to the MMR bottom with a bottom MMR killer, the matchmaking thinks it is working perfectly for once, but it results in an extremely one-sided game. That's obviously speculation since there's no way of telling how balanced a match was by the info the matchmaking algorithm has.
The dumb thing is, the "survivors stomp the killer so hard the poor guy gets at most one hook all game" matches must continue exist as long as solo queue issues are ignored by BHVR – they're the only satisfying experience left for me in DbD to make up for long loss streaks. I feel sorry for that killer, but I've gone through lots of frustrating games just to get this fun one. And the killer is probably 4k-ing the next game again while I'm losing my next ten.
-
I'd be happy to wait even longer if the game would come up with a fair match. The problem for me is not that wait times are bad and boring, it is that despite all the long wait the matches are still not fair and it's still close to impossible to win as solo survivor (as of now, I have not survived a single match today and all matches were 4ks except one where the last one escaped through hatch).

Behavior has changed it and is now pretending that steam policy has changed, and steam policy was changed 9 years ago.
Well I'm not affected, I'm not even on Steam, but I don't read anywhere that BHVR pretends that Steam changed their guidelines. I don't read anywhere that BHVR voluntarily changed this either. Do we know that they were not approach by Steam to change this to comply with the family sharing rules? The Steam rules don't read to me as if players have no right to share DLCs in this case but devs may be nice enough to allow it. It sounds as if it simply isn't allowed by Steam.

Right now I play mostly survivor and killer for tome challenges.
I started off playing mainly survivor with a bit of killer, then went to 50%/50% and finally to 100% killer for awhile. Then I took a break and after that felt like playing mainly survivor again.
The odd thing is that (solo) survivor endlessly frustrates me while killer is pretty chill. Playing killer for the BBQ tome I got a bunch of 4 SWF sabo/flashlight squads who tried to deny me every single hook. I just had a random load out of mainly bonus blood point perks plus Shadowborn (not that optimal with so much flashlighting). I still got my 10 hooks playing completely chill with not even 10% the sweat of a typical solo survivor match that I still lose in the end despite all the effort I pour into it. I don't know what's wrong with me, I probably should switch to killer again, but I really want a good time as survivor.
-
Basekit unbreakable isn't coming. Pretty sure they said so.
I feel the same. On the one hand, my escape rate is so unsatisfyingly low that I really want to try to live as long as possible, on the other hand once the first survivor is dead, I want to be the next one out to skip the four minutes of slug.
When there's just me and another teammate left I don't want a boring game of hide and seek and actually do a gen while my teammate sits in a corner and waits for me to die.
So it's obviously me who gets found by the killer and slugged.
And if the killer doesn't slug and then finds the last survivor who was hiding as well, it's still frustrating if the killer rewards hiding and refusing to keep on playing by giving hatch or letting him open the gate. When I play killer and there are only two left, I'll just chase the first one I find off the gen and go looking further. If after a few patrol rounds I've always run into the same survivor trying to do something, I leave him alone and search for the other one. Can't expect any killer to do that, but at least don't go friendly and give hatch/doors.
-
Would love to see this, but they said "no" to it in an FAQ very clearly, not even the usual "well maybe one day when we've got the time".
Would love to say thanks to great teammates. Devs don't even get the "give props" button to notify the player that I pressed it.
Back when crossplay off was still finding matches, I was frequently messaged. Some of the survivors I played against as killer who messaged me after the match later played SWF with me and gave me a break from solo queue. Now I'm perpetually stuck in solo hell. Even if players are on the same platform I rarely get messages anymore.
-
Billy for sure, as long as he‘s using his chainsaw. Had a rare Billy game yesterday, haven‘t had so much fun in DbD in a while.
Nurse if she’s merely good and neither bad nor godlike.
-
It's not quite that bad, though. The original event had fewer event gens (1 + offerings). I recall that in the original event, quite a few teammates would prefer doing non-event gens so I couldn't get max points anymore and some killers were throwing the game just to camp the event gens to prevent survivors from getting points.
Current event is mainly killer favored because the game is extremely killer favored (at least at my low MMR which I can't change because of solo queue) and the killer usually wrecks the entire group with 12 hooks before two gens pop. If the survivors are good enough then you actually can get more than the killer if you both bring offerings. I've had one game today where I got 92k points and the killer got 72k, and another one 70k for me vs 53k for the killer. Killers got only 6 and 8 hooks though, not the full 12 as they do in most games. If the game was balanced and more often more gens could be done, the points would probably be fair on both sides.
In some ways it's much better than some people made it out to be. Until two days ago, I didn't even burn an offering because people were complaining it would hardly give any bonus points. It varies depending on the game, but generally, it's a decent amount (for a "minor" event). I originally didn't even want to level characters and just saved up my bloodpoints because folks online said the offerings were extremely rare, that's not the case for me either. They're not in every blood web, but I've got more already than I can spend for the rest of the event.
I definitely agree it would be much better if you didn't have to be on a gen when it is completed to get points. This way it favors SWF again. They know which gen is about to be done and they can wait until everyone's there to get on it before they pop it. When I see a gen is about to be done, I'm wasting time running around the map hoping to find the gen before it's completed.
-
Apparently not even their translators understood it. The translation in my language is even more confusing. It says green glyphs appear on the map (apparently unconditionally) and when gens are done or survivors hooked, totems appear. These totems are shown when EGC starts.
-
@Mandy said:
Unfortunately this can happen when lobbies are dodged by killers - it backfills them, and there's less in the way of matchmaking then.
Honestly, this needs to be addressed somehow. This is also somewhat related to prestige levels you don't want to allow players to hide - when there are high prestige survivors in my lobby there's a lot more killer dodging going on than in a low prestige lobby, and if I don't leave the lobby then the killer who accepts the "challenge" is often enough a P100 Blight who wrecks the whole group with one gen done.
So, my own solution to the problem is to leave the lobby as well if the killer leaves, and if my position is backfilled then as well with the next available survivor, the lobby is only getting more random.

Can I record a match on console? I'm not sure how to do that.
I know I said "...blah blah blah, if I hold W..." but that's just the way I'm used to hearing people say it lol
If you're on console and play with a controller, it may be the controller's fault, even if you don't notice anything in other games. It's been a long time, but I had a similar problem (took extremely long to catch up as killer) and checked my controller and noticed pushing the left stick forward would not report the stick as fully pushed which translates in DbD to the character not moving at full speed.
Some other people had the same issue. I haven't heard about it in a long time, but it's a possibility if you use a controller.
-
Healing 100 health states in a single trial doesn’t sound too unrealistic versus a 3 gen Chess Merchant.
-
I probably wouldn't mind if they'd fix MMR and matchmaking, but they've yet to admit that it's completely broken for some players.
-
Just consider yourself lucky if this is only since 7.1.0 for you. It's been basically standard DbD for awhile. I'm at 9 solo queue matches today so far and survived one, and that killer was exceptionally bad and hardly managed to get a hook so it wasn't a big deal to be proud of. In the remaining 8 games 0-2 generators got done, so it was not even close to a win.
My experience in solo queue is so bad that I don't play killer anymore, I don't want to kill anyone because if those survivors get the same kind of matches as I do, they've been dying all day and I don't want to kill them yet another match. So I can't say anything about the killer experience.
Can't confirm heavy tunneling and camping. Tunneling happens occasionally, but it's not too common. I've had one game today where the killer left chases to go back to hook and tunnel the unhooked survivor as the unhook happened. Haven't had a killer camping in a long time.
I think the devs should focus more on match quality rather than kill rate and try to balance MMR so that you get closer matches and not certain kill/escape rates that result from one-sided stomps. I feel it would be healthier for the game if the losing side felt more often like they had a chance to win. But that's not how it works in hockey I guess.

Are you sure? I remember they were only talking about it and that it will be implemented in the future. Maybe I have missed that particular patch. Could you point me in the right direction with the Patch link, if you have the time of course. Thanks anyway!
See "Team Based Ratings". Article says it was introduced with 6.4.0:

Nightfall is horrible only on my PlayStation in combination with an OLED TV. I literally don’t see anything. When I‘m playing on an LCD monitor, the difference is massive. When I set the monitor mode to brighten darker areas (I guess PC players can do this easily with filters), it’s even more ridiculous. I wish the devs would at least do something to make the visibility comparable across different setups.
(It takes some effort and moving stuff to connect the monitor so I don’t usually do it because I rarely run into a Dredge)
-
Not really dislike, but it adds to the frustrations in DbD.
When I‘m with an obvious 3SWF (similar names) or a high prestige group, I expect a good game because of all of „SWF OP/unbeatable/must be nerfed“ online chants and then nobody touches gens, they just want to be chased and flashlight save each other and unhook right in the killer‘s face. If I‘m unlucky I finish the first gen and two of them are dead already.
-
I‘m not suiciding for every little thing but I do it these days when a match is obviously not winnable whereas years ago (I am playing since 2017) I would never have thought about that and always played out every match.
Personal reasons why I started doing this:
- there are vastly more bad games than before, years ago there never were such long loss streaks, I can easily play 2-4 hours with not a single game where I feel it was close or we even had a slight chance to win. I don‘t mind a bad game or two, it’s always going to happen, it’s just how many of them there are now. At some point I just want to win a match again.
- there‘s no satisfying ending if the team as a whole (which I have no control over) fails. Hatch is pretty much killer-sided now, too RNG to feel good about it and generally regarded as „undeserved“ if the survivor gets it. Getting gates open after killer closes hatch is quite a feat with many killers out there but is utterly unrewarded for the effort required (absolutely minimal MMR increase because your teammates died). So I don‘t feel motivated to play if it’s clear we won’t get the doors open.
- The invisible MMR number dominates my thoughts during playing. With how much I lose, I must be bottom 3% MMR. I am not the best player, but this is undeserved and I hope to get better games if I get a bit up again in MMR but in order to get there, I need win streaks, nothing else counts.
- I have the characters levelled enough that I have most stuff I want, so I don’t care about playing for bloodpoints anymore (and if I‘d do I‘d play killer), I want fair matches.
-
They just need to get their MMR and matchmaking to do what they claim it's supposed to do and it would be ok.
I've died every single game today. The problem is not the killers, the killers were mostly ridiculous bad, including a huntress tossing her hatchet in a wall while I was walking five meters in front of her and not even attempted to juke in any way. She got her 4k because my teammates still managed to be way, way worse and were allergic to gens. She finally got me because I chose to protect someone else and then I got camped, outplayed I guess. She wouldn't have gotten me in a regular chase.
Such bad killers are perfectly beatable without any extra information or additional solo help. I don't need to be high MMR, I don't need to be able to go against the best killers, I'll happily take these, just give me teammates that touch gens and are able to escape a huntress who misses every hatchet.
I'm currently watching the rest of another match play out. I'm glad I ran up to the killer and killed myself because nobody touched gens. It's been going on for 5+ minutes, nobody's doing anything, they're hiding in bushes or cleansing dull totems to avoid getting bored. No chases because killer can't find anyone. If nobody touches gens, Kindred doesn't help. If my teammates are just sitting in bushes, I will still die every game because I'm the only survivor ever seen by the killer.
-
No, survivors rely on teammates but can't choose them and have no comeback mechanic, if the game is lost early I want out.
Last game I killed myself on first hook was just today, none of my teammates touched a gen even for a split second (I watched the HUD closely). I was the only one who did a gen. By the time I was done, everyone else was dead on hook. Why force me to stay in a game where at 4 gens everyone's dead on next hook and taking killer aggro would be pointless because nobody would touch a gen?
Or, current example, the new Onryo. If my teammates don't understand new Onryo and somebody's moried out of the game at 5 gens and the others are close to being moriable, why play a lost game? I'm not remotely in high MMR, if one survivor dies before the last gen is finished in the vast majority of games the last gen will never pop and the killer gets his 4k. A 3 vs 1 at 5 gens? Nope, not playing.
It would be ok if bad games were rare, but there are way more bad games than good games, so a quick exit is necessary.

There is no matchmaking, not really. People have looked into it behind the scenes and BHVR tweaked the system so much that if you start a brand new account, you get the same teammates and opponents as the people with 100+ win streaks. There's one giant pool everyone gets drawn from.
I disagree. My matches are so consistently bad that I firmly believe there is matchmaking, just very bad one.
I rarely can check people's hours (I'm on console and can only see those profiles if they're non-private) but when I can I usually see < 100 hours teammates (or in the very low 100's if I'm lucky). Also there is amazing consistency in TTVs I get, I always check their channels and not a single one is even remotely an experienced DbD player, it's all super-casuals and variety streamers with just a handful of viewers who stream DbD once a week/month at most.
Killers are mostly not the best either, some are so hilariously bad that I sometimes think they want to signal they're farming when they're playing seriously.
I do get really good killers or teammates, but so rarely that this can be considered the occasional MM hiccup then.
-
@LobbyDodgerLeonidas said:
Who got it for free? I was able to grind this one out on PS5, but I had to farm about 35% of it even after running nothing but full aura build with aura hatchets. Whenever a survivor was AFK, I would immediately stop playing normally and farm as many long range hatchets as I could. If it was a 3 or 4 escape, I would chuck hatchets at survivors in the exit gates teabagging me and clicking at me. Most survivors wouldn't let themselves be hit though even though there was no way I could have possibly hooked them before they left. Finally, if it was 1v1 and the survivor gave up, I would farm a few then let them live.
Everyone who had at least some PS4 progress can probably get it now because the trophy conversion seems to be bugged.
I got it on my second start of DbD after the update. After the first start, my PS4 progress probably carried over correctly (51%). On next start, the trophy popped. I assume the game "forgets" that it has already merged the progress of the PS4 in and does it another time on each startup.
At least, the 51 PS4 long-range downs I had were honestly achieved, didn't message survivors to farm and never played a farming match.
-
It is much appreciated indeed, I didn't go for any trophies anymore after switching to PS5 because I didn't want to do it all again, particularly the Nurse trophies.
One didn't come over, though: Adept Claudette, which was my very first adept.
-
The penalty should stay, except in the case where only two survivors are left and the killer slugs for the 4k. The game is basically over at this point so they should allow the survivors to hop into next match faster, and the killer can play out the search for the last survivor with bots then who are not as easily bored as human players.
-
I dodge TTVs. The ones I get at my MMR have typically <10 viewers, 100% either completely new to the game and trying to figure things out, super-casuals, or I end up as a random in their SWF that just wants to mess a bit with the killer and die and I am the only one touching a gen all game.
Yet, whenever there’s a game with such a harmless TTV, killers go full sweat mode as if they were playing against a 8000 hour top MMR streamer with thousands of viewers.
Not fun.
Then I started dodging very high prestiges (say anything above 20). (After all, it’s shown in lobby, why show it if not to use it as an indicator for dodging?) Again, if you’re with such a playtime at my MMR you suck really, really badly (mostly), or you’re just another solo player who got handed down there because his teammates sucked (rarely), but most of the time, I noticed that the high prestige players I get are again super-casuals who love the game despite being bad at it, or they‘re really, really good and just want to bully the killer and die. And then killer gets mad and thinks I‘m with the bullies and I end up on the ground bleeding out with the killer nodding next to me though I have done nothing.
And finally, if the killer dodges then so do I because of backfill. If the game grabs the next available killer and I‘m at low MMR, that most likely means the killer is far too good for my teammates and it‘s another 4K at 5 gens game.

This combo would also counter a tombstone, don't have to rely on a locker to be nearby.

Only encountered it once so far, but the expose had the potential to make solo queue even more miserable than it regularly is.
Had a long streak of bad games before that one, and that game promised to be a bad one as well as my teammates went down fast and no gens got done - just like solo queue. Then I got chased and was surprised how insanely bad the killer was. It was a killer that I am usually bad in chase against, but I ran this man for long enough that the two remaining mates (one was tunneled out of the match pretty early) had enough time to finish the remaining gens and open the gates ... and then I get exposed from an invitation (a second time, the first time I managed to outplay the killer long enough) and boom, down and camped in basement.
By some miracle my teammates managed to save me and we all got out, had not expected this after they were struggling in chases I feared they'd just run out. It was still much too close to yet another frustrating solo game, after I did so well until then, just because of a stupid event invitation.

News from BHVR? No.
News from me? Yes. Yesterday I got all new server effects I didn't have before:
- Gen appears not yet completed, but my character gets up and I get no more "repair" prompt. Gen completes by itself after 1-2 seconds.
- Hooked survivors are occasionally displaced both vertically and horizontally, so I had to check the hooks in the area which gave me an unhook prompt. It looked like a survivor was hooked on the upper floor when he was actually hooked on the lower floor.
- I was thrown on the hook by the killer but my camera still followed the killer around for about 5-10 seconds who was already in the next chase. Then suddenly my camera switched back to the hook and only then I heard me screaming.

The servers are pretty laggy currently for many (inclunding myself), if that's the reason for your disconnects then you're out of luck, because BHVR didn't even acknowledge anything being wrong with their servers yet.
I don't get disconnected but I get constantly hit from killers who are on the opposite side of the loop, freeze while trying to vault windows or drop pallets, and watch my teammates rubberbanding over the map. And my internet is fine, too.

As killer: fun is chasing with the more "aggressive" powers like Billy's chainsaw or Huntress' hatchets and survivors who aren't hiding, good at chases and altruistic. I don't care much about kills.
As survivor: it's fun when a risky move works out. Also (in solo queue which I play) it's great if we manage to coop so well as if we were on comms. Fun are also perks to fool/confuse the killer, e.g. Deception + Q&Q or Dance With Me. However, I can't really enjoy any of that if I'm on a lengthy loss/dying streak which happens a bit too often.

I rarely say "unplayable", but for me the current state of the servers is. Every game the ping indicators are briefly but constantly flashing and the weirdest lag effects happen. Last match the killer disconnected, but I think it was more a server disconnect as the killer had just downed someone and no gens were getting done, so no reason to hit the DC button. That game was particularly laggy, my teammates were zapping around the map and I got hit through a window I had jumped through two seconds ago.
Problem is, there already were threads about the laggy servers, and somebody said he reported this to BHVR and BHVR said the problem is our internet connection, so they're probably not even looking into it.

1 in 10 games on EU Frankfurt server has 100+ ping. the rest is normal for me. guess there is a bad server cluster.
How do you know you're on Frankfurt servers? I'm in Germany, but it feels like I'm put on US West Coast servers. Pretty much every single game killer ports next to me in a loop, I get hit from a mile away, or my game freezes for a second or two when trying to vault a window (or it's the PS5 version). Really frustrated.
Only time this was good for me was a Clown downed me and I somehow ported to a different part of the map where somebody could heal me up while the Clown was searching for me where he downed me.

My thoughts:
The trade-off of reducing gen slowdown and nerfing healing will probably work out as intended by the devs in the middle/upper ranges of player skill.
The top survivors will just ignore healing and bang out gens and if some killers who were used to rely a lot on gen regression will have to go down a bit in MMR.
In the bottom range, where I got dumped into by MMR, survivors will be completely thrown under the wheel, that's why I'm personally negative about this update despite saying it will probably work. My teammates are mostly utterly unwilling to do anything while injured and killers finish chases insanely fast. Already now it's the case that before I can fully heal someone I got off the hook that the next survivor is on hook and the 4th in a chase, about to go down, and the killers don't even have/run the massive gen regression perks that are now being nerfed to win big. In my last bunch of games I played the gates were powered in only 15% of the matches, which is not satisfying at all, so I'll never play solo again after this patch.
In short, in the games I get thrown into, it's not a trade-off but a huge survivor nerf because they nerf survivors in a core gameplay element (healing) but killers only in an optional element (certain class of perks). E.g. when I'm playing killer I never used any of the meta regression perks and always was satisfied with the outcome, so my killer gameplay would not be affected at all by the patch but the survivors I meet are heavily nerfed.
Worst thing about this patch for me personally is the COH change. Since MMR is active I need unlimited self-heals in finite time (after playing for years without any self-healing) because sad as it is, I really can't count on my teammates to hit skillchecks. And it happens very quickly that two of them are dead and if I can't get the third off the hook because I'm injured and can't heal myself because there's nobody else there anymore, I'm being punished by emblem loss and feel like a rat.

With how frustrated I currently am with the direction this all is taking, I'd prefer if they'd leave Self Care at 30% and allow free DCs without penalty if a teammate brings it.

What solo queue after this patch? Just play SWF.
I‘ve been a 100% solo player, quit end of last year because I couldn’t bear it anymore and I intended to come back at some point when the game is in a better shape for solo, but they make half a step forward (action symbols) and then two steps back (healing).
There were reasons for me not to play SWF, like the difficulty of finding people „compatible“ with me or the organisation of having everyone online at the same time. I don’t think I don’t have another choice now if I want to play again.
