I don't see it. I definitely think he is still effective even if the survivor knows what he is doing, you just have to outplay and outmindgame the survivor.
And with 4 abilities, I would argue his skill floor isn't too low either.
Agree!
Bodyblocking with flight is the hardest for me to perform right now. What I mean is flying in front of the survivor and blocking the window or pallet that they wanted to use.
Skeletons seem tricky to use as well and mage hand heavily involves mindgames from both sides.
The orb is also not bad and provides a good amount of info.
All around I would put him in bottom A / top B.

Its like a weird killer version of wiretap but were tapping items
It's not even that bad. You have little aura mines around the map that can also inflict status effects.
Sure, it's not incredibly strong, but it's good enough to warrant using it over something like genetic limits.
I like creative perks like weaving attunement.

I just wanted to say that Unforeseen is way better than Trail of Torment. Being only undetectable for a bit but not giving any indication is better than being undetectable until the Gen stops regressing, but giving a notification to the Survivors that the Killer is Undetectable.
And I think it is good on some Killers, but it is just not a Slowdown-Perk which is good on every Killer. IMO it is a strong Perk, which is also good designed.
Agree.

Yeah portaling is very safe most of the time they should make hitboxes vulnerable during portaling or put the portals on a massive cooldown when Killers TP to prevent infinite looping
I would love to have confirmation from the devs if survivors as invulnerable during the animation.
If not, it's a latency problem.
If they have, there is your fix. Make them vulnerable. Problem solved.

Trail of Torment gives a notification (the highlighted Gen). It is IMO way weaker than Unforeseen.
It's only undetectable is it not? Is that really that threatening? Most killers are rather loud.
The only killer is see it being pretty good on is Bubba.
High mobility killers:
- Billy
- Nurse
- Blight
- Demo
- Oni
- Dredge
- Unknown
- Sadako
- Vecna
- Wraith
Most of them have sound clues when they are approaching or are straight up pretty loud like Billy and Dredge.
Even Chucky giggles when he is undetectable.
It's not bad but it's not amazing if you know what I mean. There's definitely better.
As I said before, Bubba seems to be the only really threatening one with the perk.
Am I missing something?

Killers were in a good spot yes.
Even high MMR 4-man SWF's were escaping less than 50% of the time.
God...
That Myers pic destroys me. Too unusual...
Regarding the topic. These perks where seen every match and created really stale gameplay. IMO the nerfs are justified. This comes from a 70-30 killer-survivor player.
Even weaker killers are not as dependent on pop and pain res as some people make it out to be. Let's he real. How many of you religiously play Freddy every day and crutch hard on both of these perks?
He's the only I would consider to rely on some of them. Others work better with corrupt or something like that.
Maybe this finally opens the eyes of some people for other perks and a bit more variety.
I just played 7 rounds with:
- Bloodwarden
- Weave attunement
- Franklin's demise
- Alien instinct
Really fun build I can definitely recommend in lobbies with high item usage.

They are? I got a hit multiple times right in front of the portal, sometimes a second before the survivor teleported.
I didn't.
I always hit the door hitbox. Even when hitting directly the survivor model while they go in.
It's infuriating but I feel like it's heavily connected to latency.
-
Not from what I've seen and tested in 10 matches on that map.
-
Pretty strong from what ive experienced in the last 10ish games I played him. It happens rarely, that I can almost 12 hook without slowdown against better survivors.
He is really demanding though. You need to constantly switch between the powers and use them as effectively as possible.
-
Weaving attunement with franklins demise is super fun. Have been using that for the last 6 matches and its been giving me great value.

Latency is a huge RNG factor on these portals I'll give you that
True.
I tried it a bunch of times. I always hit the wall - hitbox and my weapon bounces off.
The only time I got a hit was with pre shot - skeletons that hit due to latency.
Portals need to be changed to that the survivor is vuklnerable during the animation. Its not hard to do that, is it?

Same.
I've tried this "infinite" a few times now and each time I've made it no more than three laps before the killer catches me.
I dont think its an infinite. At least I haven seen it play out like that. However, I do think that not being able to hit someone that passes through is bad. The window right next to the portal is also a bit awful.
As soon as you hit that TP-button, your safe for the next 10 sec.

Very….at least compared to what he used to be. I'll play him a little more tonight but eh….don't think my opinion will change lol
Im gonna be honest, he can be tweaked for the better now. Guaranteed hits are never good. Hoopefully they revert the turn rate that goot limited some months ago. This would make him a lot better I think.

The new map is great! The new killer is a lot of fun, and I like the perks. But I do hope you revert at least some of the Chucky changes in the near future…I don't think any killer should be nerfed too harshly. DS still seems okayish but I don't know if it is worth running over anything else now. Just my two cents!
In terms of DS. Use whatever you want to use.
My build on Vecna right now is: franklins demise, alien instinct, weave attunement and bloodwarden. My games are challenging but fun.
In terms of Chucky: havent played him today. Is it really that bad?

The map also has an infinite in the tower thanks to the portals.

Its so easily fixed though. Just make survivors vulnerable during the animation like they were in the last halloween event. Problem solved.

Where they at least fun matches?
-
Random perks.
I want to learn the power first before i settle on something specific.
-
Absolutely agree. Back when we had Bubba masks, they kinda worked as alternative win conditions.
You kinda had a little quest marker in your head telling you: get the Dwight > get kills.
Maybe something like that could return / be implemented?
Something like: you get a chase charm/banner/badge/cosmetic if you can survive in chase for over 2 minutes.

Have you ever played on Friday and Saturday evening with 3 friends? We waited like 10-15 min per match, it was ridiculous...
I mostly play soloq with the rare exception of playing in a 2man.
That queue sounds horrible.

What might help is bringing back alternative 'win' conditions, IE: the BP bonuses of WGLF and BBQ. Those allowed survivors to 'win' in a 4k, and killers to 'win' in a 4E.
Sure, but they should not be locked behind perks.
Alternative objectives in general could change up the gameplay for the better.
I understand OP in the sense that 5min games are awful regardless of what role is played.
I want to play the game. If my time to reach the match is longer than the match itself, then we have a big problem.
Why? Because then the "game" consists more of lobby and loading screens than actual gameplay.
-
I'm always : fun > winning
Sadly with the way this game has changed over the past years, it has also gotten a lot more competetive.
With that, people focused solely on winning, resulting in optimization wherever possible.
I don't know if this can be fixed somehow without completely redesigning the objective for both sides.
Best thing right now would he to change the mindset of the playerbase but that's almost as impossible as getting 50 wins in comp with Freddy.

wow another shadow nerf to a killer that never deserved to be nerfed in first place. great job bhvr.

I don't feel like reads, mindgames, or skill come into play when I have to chase someone around a car 5 times.
It heavily depends on the loop.
LT for example has a ton of that.

Personally I don't see much difference between running in a straight line and running in a circle.
One involves risk, reading the opponent /Mindgames, game knowledge and I dare say : skill.
The other does not involve any of that except sometimes mindgames.
Looping is usually also more fun for both sides.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
i use it on 4 killers. wraith, xenomorph, freddy and blight. i don't see myself moving away from nowhere to hide+pop+eruption+pain res on those killers. so yes i'd still probably use it.
On other killers, i prefer pain res+grim embrace. corrupt and deadlock would be my 3rd and 4th choice if I run more game-delay.
That sounds like a build full of variety...
-
As someone that solely plays with ruin or surge as regression perks, yes I would definitely take that one.
However, for the game overall, I would not find this a good change, because 120 second gens will be the most boring stuff this game could offer.
Holding m1 for 90 seconds is already boring.
-
I main Pig and Sadako. I get shift w'd almost every chase despite these killers not having g a strong chase ability.
Shift w is incredibly powerful and is done against every killer if possible.
Both sides makes the chase more unfun if it is the optimal thing to do.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/415745/most-debated-perk-distortion
Distortion is not a strong perk like old-old DH or MFT, it is more of an unhealthy perk for the metagame like @radiantHero23 already explained as well as many other threads and topics in this forum. Also not only killers suffer from this Distortion playstyle but also SoloQ because it makes the match in a rather 3v1 where the Distortion users plays really passive.
Distortion does not need a complex rework. Just make it so you gain the tokens during chase because this would stop the complete passive playstyle and selfish act of the users.
Distortion can be helpful for the team like if the user has Deliverance so they can avoid an early hook to get the perk activated. It can be a healthy perk but in it’s current state it does the opposite.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3730838#Comment_3730838
Distortion won't help you when you get tunnled. DS and OTR as well as good looping help you to avoid tunnling. The Rebecca Perk also helps to avoid tunnling and camping. I'd much rather have teammates that have these perks (and other ones like BT, We'll Make it ect) than Distortion because this is what really help.
I think with the idea of gain tokens back through chases, Distortion will still be a good perk (can, if you want, protect you from early tunnling) but in the end you have to take action.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3730896#Comment_3730896
Just because the killer knows where every survivor is, does not mean they can hook survivors. Lethal Pursuer is a helpful perk like corruption to make the early game more manageable since this is the weakest point of every killer. When a survivor gets find in a bad spot, it is rather a mistake of the survivor as this one didn't chose a safer spot near a good tile or loop.
Do you have any proof that survivor do hook suicides just because they get found by an aura perk? Because I think these players do this no matter what perks the killer has. The issue here is on this survivor and not on the killer or perk.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3730924#Comment_3730924
Year, one item and Perk gets countered is the same as 23 Perks and 53 Add-Ons get countered. Also even if you're right, two wrongs don't make it right.
Well said!
-
I haven't been using it before and I'm not gonna start using it now.
Surge has always been my go to regression perk.
In terms of strength, it's going to be alright. I don't think people will drop it.
-
Jill, Chris, Ash, Leon, Ada, Clair and Cheryl got mega nerfed.
Must feel bad.
-
Or……
we give him a rocket launcher and make him more faithful to the source material.
-
I honestly think DH was more complained about and discussed…
I dont think distortion is a strong perk. Just an unhealthy perk because of the playstyle it encourages and the killer gameplay that can result from using it.
Im for a complete rework of the perk over a change.

The buff is insignificant, and most survivors are soloq. I often watch Twitch, and have faced many excellent killers, this buff does not affect them. They play nice and reach 4K easily. Using this style of play to "counter" is only for noobs. The question is: what's the fun in playing like that game after game? 😶
As sad as it sound but: consistently winning. Thats the reason to play like this game after game. Some people dont care one bit about a fun experience. Some people even find this stuff enjoyable. Most of what ive exyperienced over the years has tought me that the majority of dbd´s playerbase values winning over a fun match.
-
This is ultra nasty.
I made an experiment testing it with @Xernoton a month ago.
I tried it on spirit with surge, stbfl and third seal.
If they didnt give up just minutes into the match, they painfully slowly but certainly lost the game. Its incredibly strong and only not utilized because its insanely boring to play and play against. On stronger killers its very strong though.
Knock out should be reworked. Its a very unhealthy perk that encourages this stupid playstyle.

Yeah, it's just that It is so satisfying getting 4k with such a weak killer. I mean, his power is a spaghetto that makes you sick and break pallets/walls. Also, it is called Crawler Mode
I just wish they would make him more lore accurate…
BRING OUT THE ROCKET LAUNCHER!!!

Wouldn't call him f tier.
People where also very disappointed with Sadako when she came out until some dedicated people found out about her strengths.
Give it some time.

@Agaki said:
Why am I getting punished for using a core mechanic in the game which is the only way for a killer to get a down? Survivors havve endurance after getting hooked, down them after and get hit by decisive strike, go for a long chase again and then get hit by dead hard? All 4 survivors using dead hard and it a lose if you have no gen regression perk and using a low tier killer. Survivor can get healed by other survivors, and they will still have decisive strike AFTER being healed, that blatantly means they are not being tunneled.
I don't understand why this game rewards bad play too much. Chase a survivor for a gen, barely catching up because you are using a weak killer, lose a down because of a perk plus they get a speed boost? And you get it everytime you are hooked? So many of these survivors getting hard carried by these perks but then cry when they are playing against sweats with meta perks and killers because they let these perks carry them.Could you share some footage of gameplay?
Id like to see what happened before coming to conclusions.
The first situation you describes is you getting punished for tunneling. You chased them off hook and got hit with basekit bt. Then you continued to chase / tunnel and got hit with ds. After that, you still committed to the tunnel and got hit with dh.
You could have avoided at least 3 of these happening if the survivor didnt bodyblock you.
-
@GeneralV this is one for you.
-
Against the better survivor teams, Xenos map mobility and the tail being able to hit at spots where Nemesis whip will never hit just wins over Nemesis having to hit survivors 3 times. T-Virus can be completely ignored and his earlygame game be extremely punishing if survivors pre drop.
On top of this, Xeno has way better addons whereas Nemesis has like 4 goodisch ones.
Xenomorph > Nemesis (strenght)
Xenomorph < Nemesis (accessibility)
